Connecting to Jackrabbit from VCR

Hi,
We've imported JackRabbit JCA 1.0.1 into a Weblogic portal project as an EAR in the Workshop (using 9.2). We tried to deploy the EAR but BEA complained about a <jndi-name> being be defined in weblogic-ra.xml but not in ra.xml. This is because Weblogic automatically creates a weblogic-ra.xml file with a <jndi-name> specified. We created our own weblogic-ra.xml file without the <jndi-name>. Then we are able to deploy the EAR without exceptions. When we added the repository in the Weblogic Portal Console it couldn't connect. We added to properties to the repository. The first was "JCR170 workspace" with the value "default". The second was "JCR170.jndi.name" with the value "java:comp/env/repository". The following error occured:
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: While trying to look up comp/env/repository in /app/webapp/MyPortalEar11Admin/16819076.; remaining name 'comp/env/repository'
It's not clear to us how the repository should get registered in JNDI?

Are you able to monitor the DB from OEM? In other words, can you see if your DB is up, down, etc?
-- I assume your answer to this is YES.
When are you trying to connect to the DB (option)?
-- I think you have the problem when you try to select an option that tries to connect directly to the database. If this is the case, what you need to do is to configure the db so that it uses the password file.
My mistake, I thought you were using Grid Control....

Unable to capture from VCR

I am trying to capture some video clips from VCR into Final Cut Pro to create a historical record for the family.
I have done this successfully in the past using moviebox dv however I recently upgraded my IMac and the new model has a firewire 800 port instead of a firewire 400 port like the last model I had. Since this upgrade I have been unable to use the moviebox dv as final cut does not even recognize it is there.
Are there any compatibility issues that anyone is aware of?
I am using a 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 20" IMac with osx 10.6.5

Unfortunately this has been the experience of some folks trying to work with DV (FW100) devices connected to FW800 host ports on their computers. I don't know the cause of the issue specifically, but one workaround that has worked for many, including myself, is to pass (daisy chain) the signal via a different device that hosts both FW400 and FW800 ports ... for me, when using a Sony J1 deck, that was achieved by using an external FW drive that I had available. I connected the drive to the computer via FW800 and the J1 deck connected to the drive via FW400. It worked.

Question about recording from VCR to Qosmio

I want to record my old personal Videos from VCR tapes to DVD using my Qosmio F10. I plug the VCR analogue output via a coax cable into the Qosmio TV aerial input and set up the Qosmio to recognize the VCR input as just another TV channel. It records onto the hard drive using MCE but the quality is poor compared to the original video tape. The colors and sound are ok but the pictures are lacking in detail and clarity.
Is there a setting on the Qosmio that I can use to improve the quality or is it the type of input I am using. My old VCR only has a coax and scart output and I can't get the scart output to input to the Qosmio.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the response. By Composite do you mean RGB output from the VCR?
The Qosmio has 3 inputs:-
1. conventional TV coax
2. S Video
3. iLink - firewire
There is no straight RGB input tho'
Can I use the iLink with a scart output from a VCR? The iLink works fine with my Camcorder.

you'll need to configure 'same-security-traffic permit intra-interface' on the ASA .
Also, need to setup the corresponding nat statements for your clients pool range.
i.e.
global (outside) 1 interface
nat (outside) 1 access-list anyconnectacl
where anyconnectacl is the pool for your clients:
access-list anyconnectacl permit ip 172.16.1.0 255.255.255.0 any

Some manuals said, it is possible to connect to DB2 from Oracle SQL*Plus (we have version 8.0.6.0.0)
and from Oracle Report Builder.(6.0.8.11.3)
User must install OCA (Oracle Open Client Adapter for ODBC (6.0.5.29.0)) and make ODBC entry.
I did it.

The error refers PUPBLD.SQL, but I think it is Oracle specific, don't help.
Worse, that it can't connect from Report Builder, it just throws error.
If I set OCA_DEBUG=TRUE in registry, I have bonus messages:
oca-30053 unsupported network call (oracle code: 3115)
oca-30002 ubofssw function not supported (1010)
I tried to connect to MsAcces too, but I got same errors.
Have you any idea, how can I solve this?

I just add the master entry in the c:\Report\NET80\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora, and it works.
but I can't connect with the system or sys accounts, it work just with scott/tiger.

Possible to detect if a connection was fetched from the connection pool?

Is there any way to differentiate between newly opened connections and connections that came from the connection pool? It would have to work without requiring a round trip to the server because I'd only use it to optimize away a procedure call that I now have to do for every connection that is opened.
If the answer is different for the classic provider and the fully managed one, please provide both.

App Serv -- Weblogic
Database -- oracle 10g.
I am trying to provision passwords form OIM to AD.
The connector is working fine over non-SSL (389).
I have exported the ROOT CA from AD machine and imported the same through keytool IMport command to OIM Cert Keystore,

Can anybody please help me in this, I am trying the same since 3 days but no luck.
STEPS to generate the Certificate from AD:
1. Installed the Certificate Authority from Add\Remove Windows Components.
2. Generated a Certificate Request in IIS by accessing CertSrv.
3. Issued the same certificate and imported that to the keystore of OIM server.
The AD is not responding over SSL (636). When I try to access the AD machine through expolrer as
https:<adhost>:636
Its not prompting to import the certificate. Also I am not able to connect to AD from LDAP browser.
Request you to kindly help me on this ASAP.

one more thing, Have you uploaded the LDAP servers certificate in the TrustedCAS of the keystore in Visual Admin in the WAS server? If you are using LDAP ssl the connection to the server will expect a certificate if you dont have the trust enabled you wont be able to connect

Connect to Mac from Windows Vista issue

Hi I want to view some files that are on my Mac from my PC (Windows Vista). Here's what I did so far: On my Mac I enabled file sharing, I selected the folders that I want to share.
Now here's the part that confuses me, it asks me to add the users to share the folder with. but do I enter the username and password for my mac or is it the username and password for my PC? What I did was add all the accounts that are on my mac.
I then went on my PC, clicked on network, I can see the mac computer, I can also see my username and folder, I click on it, I then see the drop box but when I click on it I get a network error message that says "Windows cannot access Users public folder drop box".
I don't know what setting I need to enable since I'm very new to this. I can access the files that are on my PC from my Mac just fine. but I can't access the files that are on my Mac from my PC. Do I need to create a new mac account?
I also noticed that when I click on the mac computer from my PC in Network, it doesn't ask me to enter a username and password, could that be the reason I can't connect? Please help.

Otherwise it will not even show up in their network neighborhood.
If I boot up the mac and log in as the user, I can connect to the mac from my windows system but the other two users can't.
Likewise if one of them logs in as the user on the mac, I cannot connect to it from my windows system.

I have three Windows systems and one Mac.
Currently, to connect to my Mac (OSX Tiger) from Windows I have to be logged into the Mac as that user on the Windows machine.
I have three users that access the Mac. All are setup on the Mac as users. All are setup on the Windows systems as users.
But if John logs into the Mac and Betty tries to access the Mac from her computer she cannot. If John tries to access the Mac from his Windows system he can.
Does anyone know how to setup the Mac so that any of the three users can connect to it from Windows regardless of who is logged in?
I tried to set the group to staff for all the users public folders but that did not help.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Newbie : Trouble connecting to Airport from Win 8.1 on Macbook Pro

I recently bought a Macbook Pro 2013 and an Airport time capsule 2TB . I have win 8.1 installed via boot camp but am unable to connect to airport from windows as I get a "The capability of your network adapter does not match the requirements of this network". No problem connecting to the airport from the OSX partition. Also no problem connecting to a different wireless "N" network. I did install the windows drivers from Apple. The network is seen from windows byt has an x marked against it with the above message. Can some one help?

Hmm... No answers yet I am still having this problem. I can't be the only one using Windows 8.1 on a 2013 Macbook Pro trying to connect to an 2013 Airport Time Capsule. Am I? Maybe I should play the lottery ;-). Any way if there is any one else successful in the above mentioned set up. I'd like to see if I can mimick their set up. Can some one verify if I am using the right driver to begin with? I have version 6.30.223.170 from broadcom corporation. If that is not the version to use, can some one please let me know which one to use. I can also let you know my settings if that does not work. Tried to connect my messages from my phone to my macbook, but the accounts tab under preferences won't let me type in my Apple ID and I can't save, cancel, or exit out of the window

I just got a new MacBook Pro today. My friend explained to me how to connect my messaged from my phone to my Mac, since they weren't connected yet. I opened Messages > Preferences > Accounts. My Apple ID and account info was already there and it was enabled, but the messages still weren't syncing, so I disabled it and tried to add the account again. I went to put in my account info, but I realized there was no space to put in my Apple ID, even though it said to. I typed in my first and last name, password and country, but when I clicked "save" nothing happened. The section that asked my ID, name and password disappeared, the "save" button keeps flashing, and I can't "cancel" or exit out of the window. If I press "cancel", an alert message appears but all it says is "(null)". How can I fix this so that I can exit out of it? It won't let me shut down because of this.

It will only sync with new messages received after Mac's Messages is configured and running.
It will not synced old messages.

Did you ever find the cause of this, I am receiving the same message, but as you said, only when connecting to the portal via a certain pc.

Network connection after waking from sleep

Hi... More or less any time I allow my MacBook Pro to go to sleep, when I wake it up I am nearly always disconnected from my Airport connection (I connect to a NetGear wireless router via my internal Airport card). I go up to the menu bar and click on the now grey airport icon and I do still see my network in the list of available networks. I click on it, after several seconds a message comes up that says "there was an error joining the Airport network "network name""... But I then simply click on OK (rather than Try Again, I've learned that by trial and error) and the network reconnects just fine... Then when I let the machine sleep again at some later time, I do that all again... Any suggestions of what might be going on??? I do have "Use Interference Robustness" turned on (not that I know why exactly) but I've also had it off before and that seems not to matter... Any suggestions??? thanks... bob..
