    A few facts:
    1. You NEED to have the JDBC driver jar on the Java classpath
    2. You don't NEED to have the jar on the Windows classpath
    3. You don't NEED to 'override' the Windows classpath - you can just append the JDBC jar to it
Just use #3 above - edit the Windows CLASSPATH environment variable and add the JDBC jar to it. At it at the start and follow it with a semicolon. Or at it at the end AFTER adding a semicolon.
Or specify the CLASSPATH on the command line when you launch Java. Use the '-cp' or '-classpath <class . . >' options. Just type 'java' at the command line to see the list of parameters that can be used.

  • JSP, EJB in Jboss 4 with mySQL database. Error in connecting to database

Hi, i using JBoss 4-0-1 with jsp and mySQL database. I get this example from a book using stateless session beans. However i modify it so it can connect to mySQL database.
This is my code for jsp.
    <%@ page import="asg.MusicEJB.*,
    java.util.*,
    javax.naming.Context,
    javax.naming.InitialContext,
    javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject" errorPage="error.jsp" %>

The following 3 variables appear in a JSP declaration.
They appear outside the generated _jspService() method,
         which gives them class scope.
Since we want to initialize our Music EJB object once
and read the Music Collection database to get the
recording titles once, we place this code inside
         method jspInit().
         The EJB business method getMusicList()
returns a collection of RecordingVO objects which we
         store in ArrayList albums.

    screen shot - http://netwizlk.site50.net/images/DW-error.jpg
1)there is no testing server running on the server machine.

  • Can I connect to MySQL database

    sorry for my English...
    I'm absolutely new in Flex
can I connect to MySQL database?
I read here that I need to create a java class file and edit
an xml to create connection to oracle, can I connect to MySQL
server too, I think that the PHP-XML is too slow to work with lare
amounts of data... so can you post me MXML, the XML, and the JAVA
class file, with I will be able to send sql to mysql server and get
    the response?
or FDS is a stand-alone SQL server?

Flex is not a SQL server.
The Flex SDK and compiler supports developing applications
that run in the Flash player.
Flex Data Services is deployed as a Java web application that
simplifies integrating Flex clients with Java server-side resources
(including interacting with SQL databases via Java).
FlexBuilder is an IDE for developing Flex apps.
I'd recommend spending some time browsing the Flex product
    area on adobe.com.
    Best,

  • External connection with MYSQL db

    Hi to all,
i need to make an external connection to MYSQL database with "EXEC SQL" instruction of abap/4.
I've already maintained the DBCON table: i've created a new external connection (called TEST1), but i don't really know how to valorize the DBMS (db type) and CON_ENV (connection instructions) fields .
For MSSQL is simple (there are many examples on this forum), but for MYSQL db?? I wasn't able to find posts about configuring it.
Is there this kind of connection possible. What are other "way" to make this connection? I'd like to select/insert/update some table rows
Helpfull answer will surely good rewarded
    Thx a lot in Advice
    Andrea Galluccio

    Hi
For MSSQL , we give the Connection Information as just MSSQL_SERVER=<ServerName>. But for MYSQL and oracle the parameters differ.
    Just check out http://www.irietools.com/iriepascal/progref125.html
I am not quite sure abt it.

  • Java connection with mysql

    Anybody please help me:
I creating java application that comunicate with the mysql database. I use JConnector and all work find.
My problem is when i compile the program into JAR file and when i run it(double click the file), i saw my application but the connection with the mysql database is not successfull. i try to search from internet, and i found that i must put my JConnector inside the jdk1.3.1/jre/lib/ext.
Once i put that the program can run and the connection is fine, but only if i run it from the dos by typing the command c:\java -jar turkeySystem.jar.
So anybody can advise me, what should i do if i want to make my application run smoothly and connected with the database, without having the dos run at the background. (just double click the jar file).
i don't have problem to run that if i using ms access as a database.
    Thank you in advanced.

if it runs with "java -jar turkeySystem.jar." you have a valid manifest.mf in your jar. so it can basically be executed by double clicking it --- if the JDK is installed correctly. otherwise you need to change the datatype handling in windows by adding "java -jar %1" as the command for the file suffix ".jar". this is the case if you e.g. just copy your Java SDK folder to a computer and didn't install it with the windows exe java wizard.

  • Connecting a MYSQL database in Dreamweaver

    Hi All,
I'm tryting to connect a mysql database based locally and am getting the error:
HTTP Error Code 404 File Not Found. Here are some possible reasons for the problem:
    1) There is no testing server running on the server machine.
    2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to the http://localhost/_mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php. Verify that
the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site.
    What does this mean?
How do I start the testing server? I'm unable to locate the folder where the database files are stored as the database has been created locally on my machine.  Everything hace been created locally so I know that point 2) could well be irrelavant.
    Please can somebody help?
    Many Thanks
    Gordon

The functions for connecting to a database were mostly deprecated.  But if you enable them in CS6 Cloud/CC then they will be the same.
