Connection between to forms

Hi all,
I have created a model in the VC, this model has 2 forms.
one form with drop down button and the other form is with push button.
i need that each time that i click on the push button the value in the drop down button will cahnge.
How can i connect between these 2 forms?
How can one form can effect on the other form?

You need to give us more details. Form #1 with the push button needs to send a value to form #2, and I would guess that that value will not be the same every time the button is pressed, or???
What is needed anyway is for your drop down of form #2 to have a setting for an input field to the data service that is the same as what is sent from form #1.
Say you have a field in form #1 that is called @f1 that is submitted when pressing the button, then when you configure the drop down (dynamic list) in form #2 you set @f1 for the input field to the data service used for the list.

You didn't mention the versions or whether you are using Developer Suite or Application Server. I guess it really doesn't matter in this case, but please provide complete information in the future.
In order to connect the F/R home to a db you will need to make the appropriate configuration entries in tnsnames.ora found in the F/R home (\NETWORK\ADMIN). The entry you add will be similar to the one found in the tnsnames.ora for the db which is found in a similar directory in the db home. The entry will look something like this:
ORCL =
(DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = myMachine)(PORT = 1521))

How do I establish a connection between two forms?

We previously had JetForms and whilst obsolete and ugly users liked the fact that they could use them to pre-poulate common fields across different forms.
This was achiveved by filling in a form that in turn would generate an .xls file in the users personal drive. By clicking on a button in other forms it will populate the fields with those completed in the xls file.
From what I've seen this should be relatively simple to replicate using Adobe LiveCycle Forms but my question is how do I start? Presumably I can set up a Personal Details Form that generates an XML data file but how do I specify where I want the file to be saved and its file name? How can I then extract that data from the XML file to populate a different form?

I have tested this out on our stand alone machine and it works perfectly.
The problem we have is that our users do not have access to Acrobat Professional on the networked machines.
They will access the forms via Reader using Internet Explorer.
We have experimented with a simple form and have found a kind of solution. We set up a single field form and then generated preview data for it called test3.xml.
The form has two buttons.
Import

Export
$.host.exportData("")
This achieves what we want BUT ideally it should be seamless.
We want to minimise the amount of clicking and finding the appropriate XML file by ensuring that the generated XML file from the Update Details Form is saved to a specific location and a specific file name and that these cannot be changed by the users.
The aim being that we can bind that file to the form so when users open them it will automatically populate the fields or at the very least they just click a button to import their data.
We've run into difficulties when trying to specify a location either in the script window or the Submit to URL field in the Object menu. It is not clear whether this is a syntax problem or a security problem but nothing seems to work and the user help makes no mention of saving an xml file directly to a local drive.

Regarding connection between front end HTML and back end SQL 7.0

You need servlet and JSPs for the server-side presentation layer, some classes for the business logic, and some mor for the persistence layer either using JDBC or some framework like Hibernate.

How can I share data between two forms on different lists

Using a custom content type, I created two lists that I want to share the same data - one is a calendar. Our employees complete a form from the "Out of Office Request" list that has workflow functionality that sends an email to that person's
manager. If the manager approves the request, the item automatically populates the "Out of Office Calendar." The problem is that the only information from the request list that populates the calendar is the Title field and date/time fields.
I need the manager name in order to create a view for each manager.
How can I connect the other information in the request list to the calendar list. It seems to me that if the title and date fields carry over the information, there should be a way to connect the other information. I'm using Designer.
I've tried to connect the two lists' webparts with the wizard, but when I get to the page that maps the two lists, there are no column names and the "Next >" button is grayed out. This seems like the logical place to connect the two lists,
but it isn't working.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted share data between two forms on different lists.
To show external information on the calendar event, there are two methods: Calculated column, workflow. You can refer to:
A Simple Guide to Show More Information on a Calendar Event
I recommend to use workflow to achieve what you want. But you need to create a people column to display the manager.
You can create a workflow associated to the "Out of Office Request" list, add action to Start Approve Process. If the manager approves the request, you can create a item in the calendar, and then update the people column and the title column.
Then the calendar will display the Title, date/time and the manager.
To create a view for each manager, you need to modify the Filter. You can use the people column is equal to the manager name or the Title contains the manager name.

How to add connection between two Web Part Data Views in sharepoint designer 2013

Hi I have problems with connect two data view
I have a SQL server database named Mini
In Mini database I have two tables: dbo.Table_A and dbo.Table_B
Table_A design and Table_B design
In the internet browser it look like this after I add the connections, the problem is there is no connection when I click at the Blue link id 2 and 3 ??? John's and Jes's Lastname did not show up, the links is dead. that's my problem
The must strange is that, if I do the same below, in sharepoint 2010 designer it do well ?? so what in the .....

See again my picture below her, when I open the internet browser
in the database you have a table with forename and another table with last name,
the link between this two table is the id, when I open it is ok, Bens lastname is

THEN you can upload the next datasource, the sharepoint designer automatic generate the code for the grid.
When you have the two grids inside the aspx file, place your courser behind the first

Problem to connect between Oracle 10g xe and VB2010 at Vista sp2

Hi guys, good day... NEED RESCUE!! SOS!! Hmm.. i have trouble been 1 weeks trying connect between Oracle 10g xe and VB2010 on window vista sp2. Actaully im very new at Oracle 10g xe and VB2010 but i got a project is going to build up system database and i figure out Oracle 10g xe and VB2010 can use free so i just chows these appication to be my project. I been search around internet and there is several things i was found about the connection but i has try and tried still it wont work out.
Things i found and learned
Oracle
1. I have download Oracle 10g XE and installed in my windows vista sp2.
2. I notice the Oracle Developer Tools is needed for VB2010 (To add reference 'Oracle.DataAccess'). So i was downloaded ODT11beta and installed

When i try connect SQLPLUS in cmd i get ERROR: ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.
i . In cmd i type sqlplus and enter then i been ask for username and password.
ii. After i insert my username and password and enter then i get the error of ORA-12560.

Problem in VB2010
When i run my project and press the button i get error message ORA-12514: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified at conn.Open()

1. Im notice in my netbook xp home sp2, before i install ODT11beta my sqlplus look fine thought cmd but after i installed ODT11beta its same problem with my Vista sp2 now. Get error ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error :( I tried uninstall ODT11beta again and restart its work fine again. Which i really dun understand. Izzit the version ODT11 is not suitable for 10g xe? And i dunno this problem is related with my connection between oracle 10g xe and vb2010 or not. So confuse@@
2. I wish to know more about connect between Oracle and VB, is there still a things i miss?(I mean steps or configuration that should i done)
3. Or i just lower my VB version could make more easy? If yes, what version VB should i use that could work out with oracle 10g xe?

When you go to modify the submit connection, you can specify whether or not to overwrite, as well as a default title value. If you use the now() function in the title, it should never have the same name.

Adobe forms are advanced to smartforms and scripts.
Adobe forms are much easier than smartforms they are online forms.
they can be developed online.
Adobe forms : This is another SAP tool designed to create your own forms. The transaction for this is SFP.
How to use them: You can create a sales order form in adobe form and send to the sales reps. Sales reps can fill this form when they are not connected to internet / SAP system. Once they connect to SAP just send an e-mail to a specific user id in outlook. You got to customize and code how do you want to process once you receive this form. This enables you to create orders even when you are not connected to the system. Hence no data loss. This is not how i used though :-). This is just my idea.
What is the difference between Adobe forms and smart forms / scripts.
Smart forms / scripts are used to show the data in SAP. Most likely you will use these to print / display some kind of reciepts / forms. Many companies must be using this for hard copies / ALE / EDI or to transfer data from SAP to others.
Adobe forms are used to post data into SAP from SAP too. So this has an additional feature compared to smartforms.

Using Safari to connect to ORACLE forms

Hallo,
I want to test Safari as a browser to connect to ORACLE forms (10/11). When I try to do this, it tells me that it needs to download and install the appropriate jInitiator. Although it is already installed on my PC (I am using IE and Firefox to connect) I chose to download and install again.
I have restarted Safari but it still does not connect to ORACLE forms.
How and/or where do I need to configure Safari to find the correct jInitiator and to connect to ORACLE forms?

Okay. We could do some basic-principles troubleshooting if you like. (The issue with that is that I'm not entirely sure if this is a deficiency in the current Safari versions, or if it's a problem with the Safari versions on your PC ... so there's a chance we'd be beating our heads against a wall trying to "fix" this.)
The first thing I'd be inclined to check on would be whether this is a systemwide or user-specific issue on the PC. (This isn't a cure in itself, but can give us a heads up on the possible nature of the problem.)
Head into your User accounts control panel and create a new user account with full administrative rights. Now log out of your usual account and log into the new account. (Don't use fast user switching to move between accounts.)
Launch Safari in the new account, and try connecting to the forms again. Do you get the error message again? or does it connect okay in there?

That is how I understand that document:
Locking: Forms, by default, locks a row as soon as the user starts modifying the data. That is pessimistic locking. Apex, on other hand (and optionally forms also) do not lock the record, but before applying any changes checks if the data has changed since the user queried it (what for some reason is called optimistic "locking")
DB connections: I am not sure why they used the terms synchronous/asynchronous, but the difference is that Forms, by default, keeps an permanent DB connection while the user is using the application, while Apex gets a connection from a connection pool every time a page is requested/submitted.
Architecture: Forms (in its web version at least) has 3 tiers: the browser, the appserver where the forms service runs and the database. As Apex runs inside the database, there are only 2 tiers: the browser and the database (though you still may need an http server in between which serves static content, I don't think it is considered part of the application in this context). If you are talking about client/server forms, then there are only 2 tiers.

Connection between SDM client and server is broken

Dear All,
First of all this is what I have
-NW04 SPS 17
-NWDS Version: 7.0.09 Build id: 200608262203
-using VPN connection
-telnet on port 57018 is succesfull
I can login to SDM server (from NWDS and from SDM GUI) I can see the state of SDM(green light), restart it, can navigate through tabs in GUI, but every time I am trying to deploy an ear i have this error:
Deployment exception : Filetransfer failed: Error received from server: Connection between SDM client and server is broken
Inner exception was :

Having same issue. Nothing helped so far... Using NWDS 7.0 SP18.
I have turned SDM tracing on and this is what I see on client side after sending first data package:

My connection on server is still active so I have to restart SDM server to reset and try it again.
Anyone have idea whats happening?
