Connection Problem To "JMS Queue XML"

Hi.
I can't connect to the JMS Queue XML.While Creating Data Server using the JMS XML Queue Technology pointing to WLS and the XML document type definition (dtd ) file books.dtd is provided from the local(C:\Documents and Settings\348773\Desktop\XML FILES) directory. The connection details are as below:-

These are user name and password for the application server

JNDI User/password (same as above)
JNDI Protocol: Undefined

FYI:-I h'v just copy and pasted the value of JNDI Driver(weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory) from a document because I don't know how to find the JNDI drivers name for WLS.I think it is a default name.If I'm wrong then Please tell me how to find it.when I test the connection it shows an error like this:-

Hope till now you might have solved this problem.
If not lets do this below workout , we had same kind of problem.
in JNDI tab , you have JNDI authentication, this authentication is for JNDI resources, I am sure you might be using weblogic credentials.
Steps :
1. Clear JNDI User : Blank (No value)
2. Clear Password : Blank (No Value)
3. set JNDI Authentication as None, regenerate the scenario and check
For accessing JNDI responses , JMS XML Queue uses Connection parameters from Definition tab.

Hi,
Facing a weird problem while passing ODI variable in JNDI Url for JMS Queue XML.
Below is the JNDI Url configured under ODI Topology:
JNDI Url: t3://<host_location>?d=#TEST.SCHEMA_FILE&s=<schema_name>&JMS_DESTINATION=jms/<queue_name>
where,
#TEST.SCHEMA_FILE --> ODI variable storing xsd name and location
Issue Description:
If we restart ODI server then for the first run of any ODI interface using JMS Queue XML, it is unable to get the value for ODI variable present in JNDI Url (d=#TEST.SCHEMA_FILE).
It throws error message saying: No XSD found
Temporary Resolution:
As a temporary fix if we hard-code and pass the value in that ODI variable as shown below, it will successfully go through.
eg: JNDI Url: t3://<host_location>?d=C:\XSD\test.xsd&s=<schema_name>&JMS_DESTINATION=jms/<queue_name>
Reverting it back to variable later will have no issues and subsequent run will succeed.
But again anytime later if server is restarted then first run will have this issue.
Want to have permanent fix for it.
Any one having idea on it please share. Appreciate your help!

What ODI version are you using? It could be related to the bug in the older version as described in support note Doc ID 1290326.1

Operation name : consume_message,
destinamtion name is queue:///SU.BH.RAJY.OTI.UPDATE_ITEM_RESPONSE.01?targetClient=1).
But the new reqirement is to retive the xml data in ODI using "JMS Queue XML data server".I have tried
several ways(reading from internet) but failed to configure physical dataserver and reverse the xml message.
Also failed to understand properly the oracle post (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/integrate.1111/e12644/jms_xml.htm#CHDFCFBI).
Speically this portion "JNDI URL: <JMS_RESOURCE>?d=<DTD_FILE>&s=<SCHEMA>&JMS_DESTINATION=<JMS_DESTINATION_NAME>.".
What will be the "JMS_RESOURCE" in my case.
How can I configure JMS Queue XML?
Please help!

JMS messages can principally be processed by Oracle Data Integrator in two formats:
- JMS Messages: containers for rows of data, handled through JMS Queue/JMS Topic Technologies. With JMS Queue/JMS Topic technologies, each JMS destination is defined similarly to a flat file datastore. Each message in the destination is a record in the datastore.
- XML Messages: containers for XML files, handled through JMS XML Queue/JMS XML Topic Technologies. With JMS XML Queue/JMS XML Topic technologies, each messages payload contains a complete XML data structure. This structure is mapped into a relational schema (XML Schema) which appears as a model. This use the Oracle DI Driver for XML (see the driver documentation in Oracle DI documentation).
Find below a step by step creation process for such a destination:
1. Data Server
To create a JMS XML Queue data server, you declare a simple JNDI connection. The only JMS XML specific information is added to the URL. This information defines the XML file format.
The JNDI URL should be : <JMS_RESOURCE>?d=<DTD_FILE>&f=<XML_FILE>&s=<SCHEMA>&JMS_DESTINATION=<JMS_DESTINATION_NAME>
- JMS_RESOURCE: JNDI resource corresponding to your JMS queue that will contain the XML payload. You would specify this URL if you were managing normal JMS messages.
- DTD_FILE: path to a DTD file that describes the XML structure. Mandatory if the parameter XML_FILE is omitted.
- XML_FILE: path to the XML file with a structure similar to the expected XML messages. Mandatory if the DTD_FILE parameter is omitted.
- SCHEMA: schema name that will contain the XML structure. This value must match the one set for the physical schema attached to this data server. This parameter is mandatory.
- JMS_DESTINATION_NAME: name of the JMS queue or topic. This parameter is mandatory.
2. Schema
Creation is straightforward: In the Schema (Schema) and Schema (Work Schema), enter the name of the <SCHEMA> defined in the data server JNDI URL.
3. Model
Use standard reverse-engineering. As the Oracle DI Driver for XML is used the XML structure will be reversed as a relational structure.

Is it possible to use dynamic queue name with JMS Queue XML?
I tried using a variable in the JNDI URL, and supply the value in a package. I specified the following in the JNDI URL in the Topology:

I declared and set the variable in a package, then tried to load data from the above data server to database. But executing this package gave me the following error:

I have created Connection Factory and JMS Queue. I am expecting to find both in JNDI tree. Where, in the http://localhost:7001/console/consolejndi.portal, could I find them? I mean, in which branch of the JNDI tree?

You should find them following exactly the way you define their JNDI Names... Make sure you are looking into the JNDI tree for the right managed server... Pay attention into the targets of your connection factory and queue...
For example, a JNDI name jms.myConnectionFactory (or jms/myConnectionFactory) targeted to soa_server1 will appear under soa_server1 / jms / myConnectionFactory ...

Connecting to multiple JMS queues

Hi,
I need to connect to multiple JMS queues that all have different username/passwords however I'm struggling to find where to add these details.
In the past we have used the args -Dtibco.default.user=xyz -Dtibco.default.password=1234 on the Server Start tab when connecting to a single queue.
Clearly this won't work for multiple queues.
I have tried adding the details on the bridge source but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas?

Hi Willy,
This is definitely the week for interop questions.
There are two opportunities that I know of to pass username and password on a bridge source destination. There are the "username" and "password" attributes, which I assume would work in most cases. Not sure. There are also the JNDI properties, presumably via the standard strings "java.naming.security.principal" and "java.naming.security.credentials".
It would be interesting to see the full stack trace that your getting.

PS. It's been my experience that many applications don't need to use a bridge for retreiving foreign vendor messages as they can simply receive from foreign vendors directly. For example, via a combination of MDBs and the Foreign JMS facility. Problem Reading JMS queue

I have written a jms client to read a queue in weblogic. Specifically the wlai
event queue. However, I have tried to read other not-wli specific queues with
the same error. I get an access denied error even trying the system user!
I have even played with the ACL for the queue.
Anyone have any ideas?

You need to add a 'browse' permission for your user to the ACL for that queue (or
the weblogic.jms ACL). It worked for me.
If you look in the stack, it mentions that your user was denied for the action
'browse'.

JMS queue xml invalid

Hi all,
I am passing an xml file from XI to JMS queue through JMS adapter. In SXMB_MONI, the xml is valid. But once it passes to queue, its not valid xml. When I try to open xml in queue server, it shows a message "An invalid character was found in text content". Any idea whether it can be rectified inside XI?

Hi..
There is qucik check that you can do. It is because of your context change problem in your XML. Build your XML again using your test environment and test it first to make sure the mapping is fine...if it goes then and try opening the input XML file in a browser if it says the same problem what you have pasted then problem is with your XML input data. Normally this error comes if you try editing your XML using wordpad. Use Notepad instead.

Connect from Weblogic JMS queue to SAP WAS JMS queue

Hi,
I am trying to setup a WLS 8.1 messaging bridge between a weblogic JMS queue and a SAP WAS JMS queue. I have configured a queue on both Weblogic and SAP WAS and I have set up the messaging bridge and bridge destintations in weblogic. However when weblogic tries to get the SAP initial context factory it fails with the error below.
I have added the SAP Client jars to the weblogic system classpath, and in the weblogic startup script but it still fails. Has anyone connected from an external JMS queue to a SAP WAS JMS queue that could provide me with some guidence?

Thanks for that.
My problem ended up being a classpath problem. I referenced the directory of the SAP jars in the weblogic start up script. When I changed this to reference each jar individually it worked.
I have a new issue now which may have something to do with security. The trace suggests it is logging on as the guest user, even though I entered my username and password in the Messaging bridge.

Siebel unable to connect to AIA JMS Queue

Hi All,
We are working on AIA 2.5 running on SOA Suite 10.1.3.4. We have installed the Order to Activate PIP. We are facing a problem when we try to sumit orders from Siebel. As per our understanding Siebel will put the message on the AIA_SALESORDERJMSQUEUE. However, when the Siebel tries to do so, it returns an error stating :

We have tried telnetting from the Siebel server to the SOA server using the SOA hostname and the RMIS port and we were able to connect. We are struggling to resolve this issue and any inputs you may have is igly appreciated.

Ensure the following set up is done fine.
The following Java Archive (JAR) files are required to be installed on the Siebel Server (for example, in the C:\cp directory) to communicate with Oracle SOA Suite:
Siebel JMS JAR files:
Siebel.jar
SiebelJI_lang.jar, where lang is the language code of the default language of the Siebel installation
JAR files required for accessing the JMS provider. For the OC4J JMS Provider supplied with Oracle SOA Suite, the following files are required:
jms.jar
jta.jar
oc4jclient.jar
optic.jar
javaee.jar (obtained from the Java EE development kit)
jmxri.jar
jms.jar
j2ee_1.3.01.jar
jndi.properties file:
java.naming.factory.initial=oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
java.naming.provider.url=ormis://10.15.35.22:12701/default
java.naming.security.principal=oc4jadmin
java.naming.security.credentials=welcome1
In order to debug this issue try writing a java client to access the JMS queue with above properties. This will help you to find the root cause.

Resolving connection problems with JMS

we are two students. We're studying JMS and we have some dubts.
If we want to manage connection problems(i.e.: server crashes), how can we manage data recovery?
JMS functionalities are sufficient to fight this problem or not?

Depending on the implementation you use (your JMS provider), JMS is more than sufficient. JMS provides several mechanisms for what is known as "guaranteed messaging". One of these is Store-and-Forward, which makes persistent the messages until they are delivered. This can be done using flat files, a database, etc...., up to the JMS provider.
Another mechanism is the message acknowledgments, that are use to know wether a message has been delivered or not.
There is capacity for transactions, too, that if not completed successfully, can be rolled-back. If everything goes OK, they are committed.
For example, if you receive a message in a transaction, and some process of it fails, a rollback makes that the message is never lost (it remains in the queue).
Finally, some vendors implement Dead Letter Queues (DLQ), for storing messages that have beeb underiverable due to some reason.
These mechanism are usually customizable and optional, either in your JMS code, or in the admnistration tools of your JMS provider.

JMS Queue XML: Elements with same name

I notice that ODI does not do a good job of reverse-engineering JMS queue models where an element name is referenced in different parts of the schema.
For example:
root
..body
...consignment
....load
.....event
....unload
.....event
etc
In the above, ODI will reverse-engineer the 'event' element under 'load', but not the one under 'unload'.
I don't have control over the xsd models and was therefore wondering if there is some sort of workaround I can perform in this scenario?

Connecting to SeeBeyond JMS queue

we have J2EE application on Oracle Application Server. Right now we try to add MDB that has to listen on SeeBeyond JMS Queue. What do I need to specify in configure orion-ejb-jar.xml?

The howto is not a standalone resource adpater example, so the RA's archive file .rar is wrapped in an EAR file.
So if you deploy a standalone resource adapter, you will deploy a .rar file. But also you could embed your resource adapter file - .rar inside an application .ear file, as the howto example. so the structure looks like:
.ear -- .rar
-- .jar
-- xml descriptors
-- native libraries
If you take a look at build.xml it shows how the ear file is constructed.
