Connection problem while connecting to LDAP resource via SSL
Hi,
I am facing problem in connecting LDAP via SSL. I got the self signed certificate from the LDAP team and while importing it to the JVM keystore using command "keytool -import -file PathTo/ds-cert.txt -keystore ./cacerts -storepass changeit -trustcacerts", I am getting error "keytool error: java.security.SignatureException: Signature does not match". Since I am not able to import the cert, I am facing problem in connetcing to LDAP via SSL. I have gone thru other posts and found some answers for it.. but not able to do it correctly. I am using SIM 7.1 and tomcat. In some posts, I have seen, in the resource config wizard, use "true" instead of 1 in the SSL field.. For SIM 7.1, does the value 1 work?. Please help me in importing the cert to my local JVM keystore.
Thanks.

Make sure you are importing the certificate of the issuer (CA) that issued the LDAP certificate, not the LDAP cert itself.

MDM WebServices Problem while connecting to MDM repository
Hello,
we have installed the Web Services for MDM.
When I test the Services, say the MDMSearchRecords I always get a ERROR status and the Message:
id (String) WS_LogonProblem
severity (String) ERROR
text (String) Problem while connecting to MDM repository: z_Material on server: debmu416.server..... at port: 4000. Maybe the Repository-Information has not been set correctly at the requested query.
status (String) FAIL
The Repository Information I try to connect with is correct (Repository Name, Server Name, Port, data Language and schema Language).
Can you pls tell me where the problem could be?
Points will be generously rewarded!
Best Regards,
MirceaHi Arun,
Thanks a lot!
you were right! The WebServices version was too old.
Now I can connect to the Repository in Test mode.
I get some other error Messages, like "Field Material_Number is not defined at Table Products." and "Repository Data is not available in the requested Language ." which isn' right.
Do you have a clue where this could come from?

Having problem while connecting to SQL Server through a application
hi guys ,
having one problem while connecting to the SQL SERVER 2008 R2 through a application (Dynamics NAV), by using the concept of Linked Server.
But one more thing , i am able to access that very SQL server through my app , when i am working locally , i mean to say that when i am working on the machine itself on which the server is installed then its working fine .
But when i am working on another system the query doesn't work.by using the concept of Linked Server.
Why through a linked server and not directly as a simple remote connection? I don't think you app is aware of linked server.

You can try couple of things.
If your data is less than 32767, you can pass it to stored procedure and change it to clob type like
PROCEDURE CLOBQUERY
Param IN CLOB,
and you can call Procedure
EXECUTE CLOBQUERY '[Param.1]'
If your data is around than 1000000(32767*32), you can break the data in length of 32767 and pass it to param 1 to 32 like
EXECUTE CLOBQUERY '[Param.1][Param.2][Param.3]..[Param.32]'
Finally you can try to update jdbc drive.

SQLDeveloper i18n problem while connecting/testing connection to oracle DB
Hello,
i've got a problem with connection to oracle server if there's a number (or some other strange character?) in SID/SERVICE NAME, after pressing "Test" button I get just Exception:
Status: Failure - Test Failed: oracle.i18n.text.converter.CharacterConverterOGS.getInstance(I)Loracle/sql/converter/CharacterConverters;
If I skip the test and save the settings, connection to database (expanding + in the list) will do nothing.
I'm using correct username/password/hostname/port, I've checked it many times.
I've tried to change database name from TEST9 (it's erroring on this one) to something else and server return exception about non existing database, so connection parameters are ok I think.
I'm using fedora 8 with JDK1.6 and latest SQL Developer package.
Thanks for any help.I would file an oracle jdbc bug to begin with, but I am guessing the driver is simply waiting
for the DBMS to respond, so yo may need a good DBA to see what the DBMS thinks is going
on at the time. I did hear of a case where the DBMS was doing some auditing, logging
some info during every login. This info was being written to an OS file which just happened
to be remote-mounted and would occasionally take 30 seconds, which caused connection
requests to timeout at the driver end.... WebLogic is just asking the driver for a connection
using your properties, so it's not involved directly with the problem.... -

you should mount and then open the database
if you are using spfile
then issue
SQL>startup
database mounted.
database opened.
or
SQL> startup nomount pfile='location'
database will be in nomount stage
SQL>alter database mount;
database mounted.
SQL>alter database open;
then you can issue your command..

Problem while using netscape.ldap.util.ConnectionPool
Hi,
We have a problem while using netscape's netscape.ldap.util.ConnectionPool class.
( iPlanet 5.1
ldap sdk 4.0 )
First we obtain a connection from the ConnectionPool class by using the constructor as below
//create pool
pool = new ConnectionPool(10, 50, "localhost", 389, "cn=Directory Manager", "password");
//get conn from pool
conn = pool.getConnection();
After doing some ldap read only operations if we disconnect using
//disconnect
conn.disconnect();
the junit test cases whihc use the above code
take sometime to execute fully
Sometimes there's no response also.
Also just the disconnection alone takes quite some time(~1000 ms)..
If the conn.disconnect() is not used then its pretty fast.
Could anybody throw more light on this issue
ThanxI think i found the problem..correct me if i'm wrong
I tried using
pool.close( conn );
and the time taken now is almost negligible
If you can give suggestions I would be only glad -
Imac internet connection problem (says connected, won't load any website)
I cant begin to express the incredible amount of frustration I have had with trying to get a fully loaded Imac 2011 connected to the internet. I am currently residing in Dakar Senegal, using Sonatel Orange as a service.
I am on a network where EVERY SINGLE piece of gear connected to it works 100%, including my ipad, cell phone, Asus PC. I have no connection issues and as of now typing this message on the very same network that the IMAC appears to have a problem.
I have called tech support and they walked me through several steps which resolved nothing so I am hoping the community can help me.
Whether I connect to my router directly with an ethernet cable, or use the wireless to connect, it give me green lights, says its connected to the isp but not to the internet. Obviously the internet works on this network or I would not be sending this message from my PC.
DNS was the same as the router and the same as the one on my PC. I even tried 8.8.8.8 and that did not resolve the issue. Like I said it says connected to the ISP but the internet and server lights are red on the IMAC diagnostic tool. Everytime I try to connect the IMAC to the internet via the router via wireless or the ethernet cable, It does nothing, and actually I have to reboot the router to get it to work for the PC or any other device. Its as if the IMAC does something to the router and requires a reboot to reset it.
IT is DHCP enabled, thus not a PPPOE connection.
If I cannot get this resolved, I will be boxing up a $2500 machine and sending it back to apple. I cannot believe that I buy a practically fully loaded apple for the first time, and cant connect to the internet. I will go back to PCs and not look back if this does not get resolved. 2500 bucks is WAY to much to have internet connection issues.Sorry to hear about your connection problem, you have a great computer but sometimes small things can cause a major problem. Did you check your firewall, make sure it is not blocking traffic. Click on system preference>security & privacy then click the firewall tab. If it is on then turn it off and see if you can connect. I would also reset the SMC As a last check open your network utility and take a look at the status of your network card and link status.
