Connection slow into 10.2.0.4 database on AIX 5.3

I found few issues been launched running Oracle on AIX.
We having slow issue to get connected into database. But it happend at certain time. I did test in DB developement server and production DB server. This happen although one user access into database.
I did simulation by do sqlplus straight in DB server. using system id. Repaeting the sqlplus command few times and until one stage the time taken is longer. If normal it took about 2 second to get the SQL>, but at that time it went to 10 - 15 seconds. The basic VMM configuration suggested have been done. Both servers got high memory size. Fast CPUs.
Whatelse do I need to check ?

Unfortunately I have no advice or suggestions for this problem.
I just wanted to mention that we have the same problem with the same versions ...
Everything looks OK with the database and the VM settings. All the logs look OK but still the database can be really slow by times.
We have one other project running with the same set-up and they have no problems at all.
The solution we follow right now is to set-up the VM again in the hope that this wil solve the problem.
If anybody else has any idea about the cause of tis problem, we would love to hear it to avoid this in the future.

I am attempting to migrate an MS Access application to Oracle. I pick the ‘Migrate’ selection from the ‘Tools’ Menu SQL Developer. This puts me into the Migration Wizard. When I get to the ‘Source Database’ step of the migration wizard, the ‘Choose the Third Party database from which you are migrating’ drop-down box is not being populated with the current available connections. It is empty. If I type a valid connection name into the box, SQL Developer takes it on this screen but does not keep it for the next screen/step. It has no persistence. I even tried to make sure that each connection was open/connected before beginning the migration process.
Due to the fact that I am attempting to migrate an MSAccess application, I am mixing 32-bit and 64 bit software. This may be the issue as to why the drop down is losing addressability. I have not applied any patches to this version of SQL Developer.

If you need easy way to migrate Microsoft Access to Oracle probably it is more reasonable to review some tools specially designed to this purpose. For example:

A database link is a device for connecting between Oracle database instances only. Oracle does have a method for connecting to other database systems (Transparent Gateway) but this is restricted to other commercial databases and I don't believe there is a gateway for Mysql. (I could be wrong)
I don't know Mysql but maybe there is some way to push data to the Oracle instance. Other than that, is there any reason why the data has to reside in the Mysql database?

I'd be totally indebted to find out the following information regarding Adobe Connect Pro as we're evaluating it for hosting Captivate created content.
Background: Adobe has an API and we are hoping that we can make our own custom form and then upload additional Trainee information (say they have two cell numbers or their birthdate) into the hosted Adobe Connect site for our training. We want Trainees to be able to register themselves via a form that we host and have the push in via the Adobe Connect API. It's too painful for us to have to make a userid for the trainees each time.
Question 1) Is there a way for us to get access to the SQL Trainee database hosted with Adobe Connect? If so how is that done?
Question 2) Will the custom values (e.g. the phone and birthdate) that are made on our form and passed to Adobe Connect's LMS viewable by the Admin Reports interface?

Ipad 3 wifi connection slow

Hello,
I notices on my ipad 3 IOS 6.0, that the wifi connection is slower than on my imac and acer laptop.
Videos on you tube are slow to download even if video quality parameter are set to medium (360).
It becomes a real pain if I want to see a video in HD 720 from youtube, I takes agees to play.
Don't even tlak about 1080 HD videos !!!
So is Ipad wifi connection slower than my cheap Acer Laptop ?
How can I fix that annoying issue ?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

If you have not already done so, your chances will really improve if you....
1) Connect the printer to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme
2) Download and install Bonjour Print Services for Windows on the PC

One possibility is that you may need to "Upgrade" your Cable /DSL Modem if you have an older unit. ISP's that provide your Internet service in recent years have been switching over from DOCSIS 2.1 version Modems to DOCSIS 3.0 version Modems, which handle the new higher data streaming speeds the ISP's are offering. I would suggest you call your ISP's Technical Support and inquire about this possibility.

I was wondering how people are connecting ATV into their entertainment center or components. I have of course the widescreen TV, ATV, also DVD, set top box and the stereo. The stereo is a late 80's/early 90's version that uses the copper stereo wiring and not the red/white plugin in the back.

My main set up is; tv to tv via HDMI, optical to receiver, I've thrown my DVD player and my STB is connected via scart.
Your stereo likely doesn't have HDMI or optical but may have an auxiliary input of some kind, I think you are probably talking about the outputs in your description and I'd be surprised if the auxiliary (if there is one) isn't a red/white RCA connector.

After connecting AppleTV 3 with USB and starting iTunes you need to connect the power - the steps are different to AppleTv2 which does not need power after connection.
IS your itunes up to date? It may not know about AppleTV 3 if it's more than a few months old.

I thought of copy the BLOB value into a text file and then update the new column value by the same text in textfile. Will this work?

Also if I view the BLOB as text. Can I copy it and insert into the new database.

However, the file format of the entities basic import file is:
Email Address
Title
First Name
Last Name
Company Name
Custom Date
Which one should I use?

You need to use the file format of the import file, always.
Otherwise you'll end up with customers that have email addresses as name and names as email addresses.

To answer your questions -

Yes, you can use DG4MSQL and it does require a separate license.
Your best option would be to use the latest version which is 11.2.0.3 but this requires you to apply patch 5965763 to your 9.2.0.8 RDBMS. See this note in My Oracle Support -

You also need to be on a particularAIX version as shown in the certification matrix -

if you install the gateway on AIX.

You can install DG4MSQL on any machine and connect to it from the RDBMS on AIX using database links. So, you can install on either AIX or Windows where SQL*Server is running. There is no difference in the performance.

You could also use the Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC) which uses a third party ODBC driver to make the connection between the gateway and the non-Oracle database. This is included with your RDBMS license but you need to supply the ODBC driver

I cant see any join conditions in your query posted. Whats the purpose of the query above. It will just bring you a cartesian product (cross join) of tables involved subjected to filters. Are you sure this is the correct query?
The error you're getting may be because you've not yet populated DimProduct or may be because of logic you used in popultaing DimProduct causing it to miss some records which is what query is referring to in above case.

So, about a week ago my macbook pro started having lots of issues: wifi connectivity, slow performance, sound issues, spotlight wasn't working. After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase the hard drive and do a reinstall. Since I have a recent backup this seemed like a good enough option. They were kind enough to send me a copy of the snow leopard disk to do the install since we couldn't get it to complete through the disk utility. Not sure why, since it says we are fully connected, it just never completed.
Anyway, so now that you have the background here is the new issue. The macbook pro keeps spitting out the disk I'm trying to install from. Disk utility and using the 'Startup Disk' function from the apple menu doesn't read the disk.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?
