Connection timeout when running web service

I'm running a desktop application which call an a web service every 10 minutes.
Every few calls to this web service it fails. (for example: 4 calls to ws works fine but fifth call failed)
When executing the application on: windows xp professional (physical computer) it works fine with no errors.
But on windows server (virtual server) 2003/2008 it has this error.
Here is the stacktrace:
24-08-2011 09:40:04 ERROR [main] MyTestService - Could not get data

  • Apparent server timeout when running Webi report

    Hi,
    when running a Webi report in BOXIr2 SP4 we are getting the follwing error which appears to indicate that the reports is hitting the Webi Report Server timeout:
    "The Web Intelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your BusinessObjects administrator. (Error: WIJ 20002)"
    However we get the error after approximately 5 minutes, but the Webi Report Server connection timeouts are all set to 60 mniutes.
    What other settings could be causing this 5 minute problem? The same report works fine when a shorter period of time (and so a smaller selection of data) is used in the parameters.
    thanks
    Keith

    Hi,
    Do you have a Windows Server?
    If so, please find the below information, you need to implement this on the server box.:
    Swap Timeout
    This is the amount of time before a user session WebI document would be removed. In other words, this controls the flushing interval of WebI temporary files. When you are in the Java Report Panel and you leave it idle for more then 5 minutes (Default), you will notice that you will no longer be able to save your
    WebI report into the CMS or your report will take longer to generate. This is because every 5 minutes the WebI cache is cleared so those temporary files would have to be regenerated by refreshing the document before you can actually save the document.
    The temporary files can be found in
    ..\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\ServerName\
    ServerName.Web_IntelligenceReportServer\sessions\SessionID\
    In order to modify this timeout you need to change the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite
    11.5\default\WebIntelligence\Server\Admin\SwapTimeOut
    Please let me know if this works for you.
    Thanks,
    Madhu.

  • "Missing Class" error when running web service

    Hi,
    I am getting an "Missing Class" error when running a web service. The web service was generated from a Java class via the "create J2EE web service" option.
    The web service has a JAX-RPC handler class added, which belongs to the same package as a logging class. The logging class is used to write to a file for debug purposes. A "missing class" error is being generated whenever I attempt to invoke the web service (via the enterprise manager test util), the error refers to the logging class which is used by the main handler class. The JAX-RPC handler works fine by itself, the error is only seen when I attempt to use the logging class.
    I have re-built, re-deployed from scratch again, but still get the same error! Am I missing something simple here?
    thanks for any advice

    Cant you paste some of your code, formatted in code tags? It looks like there is a problem passing some of the XMl response, it doesnt like a tag html.
    If you post some code somebody might actually be able to help you.

  • Java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection error when invoking web service

    Hi
    I've assembled a simple web service for an Oracle PL/SQL package and deployed it on a Standalone OC4J, when I come to invoke it on the Oracle Enterprise Manager screen I'm getting the following returned within the envelope body:
    <env:Body>
    <env:Fault>
    <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
    <faultstring>Internal Server Error (serialization error: java.sql.SQLException: java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection)</faultstring>
    </env:Fault>
    </env:Body>
    The function that is called within the database returns a user defined object that consists of a RAW value and an XMLTYPE. The function takes a string as a parameter, when I enter a string that I know will not return an object there is no error in the envelope body, only when there is an object to return does the error appear.
    Anyone have any suggestion as to why this is?

    I'm no further forward with this: has anyone assembled, deployed and invoked a web service that returns a XMLTYPE?? I know this should be possible but I think there's maybe some manual intervention required with the classes created with webservicesassembler: I'd really appreciate it if anyone with any experience of this kind of thing could help me think this through.

    You have to start OC4J and make changes in the common.xml/buld.xml to have connection information for your OC4J instance.
    Otherwise you can take this EAR file and deploy in your OC4J instance.

  • Helpme I have error when I try connect from struts  to web service

    helpme I have error when I try connect from struts to web service using basic authentication . the error message is
    [SOAP Exception: fault code= SOAP-ENV Protocol; msg=Unsupported response content type "text/html" must be "text/xml"; ] Response was <html><body> 401 Unauthorized </body></html>
    I'm not using ldap for authentication only xml (jazx-data.xml) ... I already create user with jazn.jar for that user , and I dont know why it still error like that ..
    Please helpme I don't have anytime more to find the mistake , ??
    I'm using Jdeveloper 9i , and oc4j 9.0.4 Server (Not embedded with Jdev)
    But when I use with sample java client it success .....
    then I try with Struts the response is unsupported response content type text/html must be text/xml response was 401 Unauthorized

    1.The reason why this error occurs is, we are getting non SOAP response when the program is expecting a SOAP response. Did you set the proxy server correctly? Try to handle the exception and see the content type of the response in your program.
    2. While creating the client stub u must check an option for authentication for webservice .should solve ur problem.
    thanks

  • How to create iView to run Web Service

    Hi,
    I need create iView on EP7 NW2004S SP12 portal to run Web Service provided on SRM 6.0 system.
    Here is how I have attempted to create the iView:
    1. Right click and select New =>iView.
    2. Select "iView Template" radio button.
    3. Select "Web Service iView" radio button to specify Web Service Template.
    4. Enter name and ID of iView.
    5. Select System Alias of System defined earlier.
    At this point, the portal attempts to connect to the ECC system, and it fails with this error, and I cannot finish the create of the iView.
    Could not connect to back-end application. Check your system. The server may be down or there may be an error in a system parameter.
    Here are the key parameters defined for the System referenced by the system alias:
    WSDL_URL:http://sap2.mycompany.com:50000/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
    Logon Method:UIDPW
    User Mapping Type:admin, user
    CodeLink:com.sap.portal.systems.webservices.webservice_system
    I've also created a usermapping for the Everyone group, and provided the userid and password for the system alias successfully.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Thank you for that information.  I had not previously seen a procedure on how to setup an iView to run a web service.
    I had created the System just as described in this blog, but I still have a problem.  When creating the iView (on the last step of process when I click Finish), the portal attempts to connect to the SRM system, and it fails with the error highlighted below.
    Could not connect to back-end application. Check your system. The server may be down or there may be an error in a system parameter.
    I get an error in System Administration as well when I test the connectivity for the System object.
    Test Details:
    The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
    Results:
    Retrieval of default alias successful
    Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
    How does the security need to be setup to make this work?  Or what could be causing this error?  I do have SSO configured between the portal and the target system.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    In your response, could you elaborate on "connection refused" ... is this the application server that you are testing? If you are setting up the SOAP Server connection, this is not required by those tutorials as shown by the Quickstart setup that they point to.
    It would also help to know the versions of JDev and OC4J you are using (e.g. are you using JDev 9.0.3 and OC4J 9.02; have you got a full install of Oracle9iAS 9.02 etc). Without more details it can be hard to help.
    I wrote most of the tutorials at a point in time so they tend to be pretty specific about version numbers. If you are using different versions they should work but I might be able to point out any problems you might run into.

    Hello MurrayJ,
    The first thing I would do is follow step six in this document to set a static IP: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02817031&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4023246&tmp...
    When it askes for DNS information, enter in Google's DNS. Preferred DNS = 8.8.8.8 Alt DNS = 8.8.4.4
    If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out. First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)? Second, who is the maker of your router? Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

  • Running web services on OC4J with attachments problem

    Hi,
    I have problem with running Web Services with Attachment on AS 10.1.3 (SOAP: RCP/LItteral 1.1).
    I generate WS Bottom-Up from java class in Jdeveloper 10.1.3 (3673) :
    package project2;
    import javax.xml.soap.AttachmentPart;
    public class TestWS {
    public TestWS() {
    public String getText() {
    return "testWS text" ;
    public AttachmentPart getAttach() {
    AttachmentPart ap = null ;
    /* try {
    javax.xml.soap.MessageFactory mf = MessageFactory.newInstance();
    javax.xml.soap.SOAPMessage message = mf.createMessage();
    ap = message.createAttachmentPart(attachmentObj,"application/pdf");
    } catch (Exception e) {e.printStackTrace(); return null ;}
    return ap ;
    When testing WS through EM - Web services - Test Web Service, failed with exception:

    WS without attachment works fine. Any advice?
    Thx.

    It's probably "web services home page" bug, ws proxy client works fine.

  • Folder of actively running web service

    Hi,
    How can I get the folder path of the actively running web service in labview. It seems that it is stored as a sub-folder in C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\WebServices\aws.

    Hi user508086,
    Which api's, jars are you porting with the webservice proxy?
    I would like to know which dependencies are present when creating a web service client in Jdeveloper.
    In my java project, which only holds the web service client code, uses 4 different project libraries which contain a lot of api's, which aren't needed for only a web service client.
    Did you manage to drill down the web service libraries to only those that are being used, or did you ported all jars included in the project libraries (oracle xml parser v2, J2EE, JAX-RPC Client, Commons Logging 1.0.3).
    Kind Regards,
    Nathalie
