Connection Timout in BSP application

Hi,
How to increase the connection timout for BSP application. I get the following error,
500 Connection timed out
Connection timed out (-5)
Error: -5
Version: 6020

Detail: Connection to partner timed out
I am displaying order list in an BSP page.If i select less number of orders it works properly but when i increase the number or orders i get this error. How to handle this?

Hi,
I am using the TableView and the assigned Internal table to get the Order list. Since i make multiple select from different table it takes a long time.
I checked the Profile parameter icm/conn_timeout and it has the following value,
Minimum                   0
Maximum                   9,999,999
Dflt value                5000
ProfileVal                5000
Current value             5000
What is the value that controls the BSP application to wait somemore time till it gets the Order list formed?

BSP Application connection to SQL Express DB to execute SQL Queries

Hi There everyone,
I am not sure if I am posting this discussion in the correct section, but please try and help me out.
I have been tasked to write a BSP Application in the ABAP Workbench. The purpose of this application is to enable our Weighbridge operators to execute pre-defined SQL Queries by selecting certain criteria from the Application. The application is based on an HTML frontend which includes the Web Form (Input Fields, Submit buttons). We have 6 Weighbridges, each has its own HTML page in this application.
What I need to achieve is the following;
I need to know how I must setup the connection between the BSP Application and the SQL Express DB. Each Weighbridge has its own dedicated SQL Express instance + DB. These SQL Instances are not on the same host as where the BSP Application is located, I think the correct term is "External SQL Instances". Everything is on the same domain though.
What code would I need to add to the "OnInitialize" section in the BSP Application, to be able to establish the connection to the SQL Express database using Windows Authentication?
And what code would I need to attach to my submit buttons in the "OnInputProcessing" in the BSP Application, to execute a SQL Query to that DB and display the results in .CSV format back to the user?
I have attached 2 screenshots of what the BSP Application interface looks like. (This is what the user sees)
I am very new to creating BSP's, and I have never had to link to SQL from HTML / PHP before, so I basically have no knowledge of this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, database is always available and online, not involved in Log Shipping or other things.

Bsp applications are not connecting to WEB

Their could be any reason for that. Please tell us which message you are getting.
But still you can try some of these things.
1. Check the server IP configs in your Host File in your system windows files.
2. Check in transaction SICF weather your application is activated or not.
3. Check other required services in SICF , those should be activated.
Follow the path tocheck.. SAp->BC->BSP->SAP->
Ask your Admin person regarding this issue.

First check whether the hostid of the server is added in your system. And there is one more way to check whether the application is worked properly. Please go to the SICF transaction and execute. In that your application is under the bc/sap/<your application name> folder. Right click that and 'Activate the service' then 'Test Service'.
Finally you consult with your Basis guys.

Http connection loss in a BSP application.

Hi everyone,
We have a big problem with one of our BSP application.
We are running a 4.7 and it runs well on our mono application server, but when we try it on our multi-application server it crash, even thought the configurations are just equals.
On this server every time we call:
CL_HTTP_SERVER_NET->SEND_RESPONSE()
system-call plugin
id 'HTTP' value 'SendAndReturn' "#EC NOTEXT
id 'Name' value conn_name
id 'Stateful' value stateful
id 'MessageOut' value c_msg.
It runs well most of the time, but when we have a heavy treatment, we loose all the http connection and the variable of session is set to initial.
We dont know why, we try to trace everything we could.
Hope somebody will help, or just have an idea.

Can you post some code around where this problem occurs. Is this in a MVC or flow logic page? Why are you implicitly calling CL_HTTP_SERVER_NET->SEND_RESPONSE?
With some more details we might be able to get to the bottom of this.

Connection Timout

Hi All,
One of the user facing the Connection Timout when he clicks on one of the BSP application in portal.
Can any boady explian what could be reason. This not for all users.
How can rectify the problem ?

Only few of the users in portal getting this error.
When i run the same in portal it is working fine. Even one of my team member is not having any problem.
The error is as below:
Internet explorer can not display the web page,.
Most likly the causes...
This is similar to : when internet connection is not available. when we run any application like gmail.
Can you expect the problem.

So I wonder how to know the lifetime of the session and how to calculate the time from its connection.

Download of a webform within a BSP application

I wrote a ESS BSP application with a 3 step wizard. Within the first step the user can enter some data in some form fields.
In the second step a webform (SMARTFORM) with the form data is displayed and in the third step the user can save the document.
Is there any possibility to save the web form as a document when the user saves the document. It would be sufficient to save the webform to the application server and get back a link.
Later on the webform should be linked as a kind of attachment. This means when the user calls again the saved document a link should be available where the form can be called.
The webform is called in the following way within my BSP:

Let me explain more in detail what I want to do.
I am calling my BSP application from our SRM system. When the user saves the data which were entered in my BSP application, the data are transferred via OCI (Open Catalog Interface). This is already working.
The only thing which is missing is the transfer of my webform to the SRM via OCI.
OCI is waiting for a link to my form. Only then, the SRM can attach a document. See OCI description

I have one question regarding this.
The usage of the UI element link "link to URL" is pretty much understandable to call a stanalone application.
Whereas the usage of suspend and resume plugs, how does it work for BSP applications? For two WD components we can connect the plugs and it works.
As I do not know about BSP, does it have in/out plugs like WD components?
If so how to create the navigation link for this.
Please explain.

How to call bsp application in workflow and process it...

The requirement is ...
HR as (admin) -- in standard workflow selects apprasiee for 360 degree apprasial process(bsp application developed by me)..
aprasiee selects 10 employees and sends to HR
HR checks the employees list and their relationships
                        if
                  HR satisfies and clicks ok .. email will go to all 10 employees selected by apprasiee with a link
              of 360 degree application developed in bsp..
                  else
           HR says to reselect the employees to apprasiee.
when apprasier completes the form and submits both HR and appraisee gets a note that particular
employee as filled your application..
for this process ... there r standard ones and i have to creare new ones ..
tell me which standard workflows i can use for this and which one to and also how to create a new one...
i hope i can use HR and apprasiee selected by HR can be used as standard ones, which i want to copy and create a new one.

- Making settings in WF_HANDCUST.
- Make settings in SICF: here you have to activate the WSHANDLER (pad /default_host/sap/bc/webflow/wshandler) and your own BSP which is somewhere under pad /default_host/sap/bc/bsp/&name_of_your_bsp&
- Make settings in WF_EXTSRV: here you can make settings between the import and export parameters of your BSP and the (future) parameters in your workflowtask. When all these settings are made correctly, you can generate a WF-task with the corresponding button in this transaction (a wizzard will be started). The connection between the task and your BSP will be stored in table SWLWPTSSID.
Try if you can figure it out with these transactions. Good luck!

Internet explorer script error in BSP application

Hi,
I am receiving Internet Explorer script error when I try to navigate between different pages in a BSP application/navigate between diff page fragemnts within the sqame page.
Error - "An error occurred in the script on this page."
Line - 480, char - 33
error - Object expected
code - 0
URL - <Page URL>
Whether I click Yes or No to continue running the scripts, I still face the same issue.
The strange part is that this application runs fine in Prod system , but is giving error in Test and Dev systems. There is no difference in the code. There are no Java scripts used in this page. In the whole application as such, there are a few scripts being used.
The only difference is the Web dispatchers connected to these systems.
Please let me know in case of any pointers to this error.

The page in this URL does not have any JS being used.
Also, the target pages for this page also do not have any JS.
How come the application is working fine in Prod system and giving errors in Test system when no changes have been done to the application since atleast a month?
What are the factors which can create this diff behaviour?
Also, how can I check if a Java script has any error? Does Web Dispatcher have any role to play in this whole scenario?

File Upload in BSP Applications and store in Application server

Hi we have requirement to store the attachments from BSP application into the external/internal storage space connected to application server.
I search for weblogs and all talking about <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_me21sp2/helpdata/en/eb/8c683c8de8a969e10000000a114084/content.htm">File Upload in BSP Applications and store in MIME Repository</a>.
But our requirement is upload and store(no need to read the file content) attachments from BSP page into file server, and then make a link back in BSP page to open.
I know we can handle documnets in R/3 using DMS, but our system is SRM.
Please give a suggestion and solution.
