Connection to DB w/ Dreamweaver and GoDaddy

I'm taking a Dreamweaver class right now. It tells me to
setup a database on my server. On GoDaddy I got to databases, go to
access (that is what I'm using) and create a DSN.. I name it the
same as my database and it names it "access_mydatabasename"
I got to dreamweaver, open an .asp page and in the database
panel I press the "+" sign and chose a connection name and my book
says for the DSN name use one name.. which I've tried, plus I've
tried to use the the DSN name created on GoDaddy. My books says to
create the database "using DSN and testing server" I have been able
to get the database to load using "using local DSN", but then I
can't get it work when I try to upload it.
I'm geting HTTP Error Code 400 Bad Request
and
error 80004005 - datea source name not found and no default
driver specified. (which I have gone to my control
panel/administration tools and followed the instructions for added
a system DSN.
and another error I'm getting:
files on machine named ftp....... not executed by testing
server. Testing server for this site does not map to the URL.
Verify that the URL Prefix is mapped to the root of the site.
I've tried various things and just get the same or different
errors.
Since my book wants me to the "testing server" vs. "local
server" from the Database panel, I would like to get that to work.
I think it has a lot to do where all of my folders are. I am adding
this "class website" to a folder in another hosting site I have.
Everything was uploading and working fine, before I started with
this database thing. Hopefully, I'm just making this all too
complicated than it is.
Any suggestions?

You created the DSN on your server, but you're trying to
access the same
DSN on your local machine.
You need to create an identical DSN on your local machine. I
think you
can just click the "DSN..." button in the Connection dialog
to create
the local DSN.
FYI, there is a macromedia.dreamweaver.appdev forum where you
might get
a better response for database questions.

No server connection with CS5.5 dreamweaver and Mountain Lion

I am having the issue of just not being able to connect to the servers at all now that I have Mountain Lion installed with CS5.5
I can, however, connect to the servers with cyberduck, so I know this must be an issue with Dreamweaver. Any help would be appreciated. I did notice a patch for this issue in cs6, but unfortunately not for cs5.5
I did try to re-do the settings for ftp, and checked them against my cyberduck settings, but no help there.

Well, that fixed the issue (durp). Somehow there was a discrepency between the saved passwords and the server passwords after the update to mountain lion? it would just say waiting... waiting for server... but in the log it was clearer that it was missing something from the login.
Sorry for the silly issue, but thank you for pointing me in the right direction so quickly. Must have been a keychain hick-up.
UPDATE: I actually found that it either missmatched or removed the login credentials from each of the servers in my list, now that I'm being more particular as I check them one by one.
So, make sure to check your login credentials over again if you have this issue. Like I said, I swear I checked them against cyberduck which was working at the time, but now it is accepting the credentials smoothly. I will update again if there is an issue in the future with the credentials not being saved. Thanks snakE!

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.

Regarding web form mailers using Dreamweaver cs4.
I’m a newbie to hosting and forms please help.
My scenario: I have a WINDOWS hosting account with GoDaddy. I am designing a simple little website that I want a form attached to it. You can view this website at palmertraditions.com/contactus.html. This will be the second website I have with Godaddy so they don’t support/help with any forms with “the secondary” website. I am using Dreamweaver and a friend to assist me in my design. I have done everything they have told me to try regarding their provided form mailers,
( ie <form action="_gdForm/webformmailer.asp" method="post">). I also tried their php one and that didn’t work either.
I talked to another guy at GoDaddy and he said that I should try a 3rd party script. ??? (and I should use asp.)

I want to make a NEW site in Dreamweaver CC and host it on the Business Catalyst platform.But it seems the only way to use dreamweaver in business Catalyst is to import a BC template into Dreamweaver then upload it to BC. I want to create an original site and use the BC platform, is that possible? This seems like it should be simple and automatic, even encouraged. But as of now the only way to create an original site is to use Adobe Muse. Which is weird, seems like Adobe missed this one somewhere...

I don't think you understand: I want to open Dreamweaver and build a brand new site, then when I am done I want to host the dreamweaver site on the Business Catalyst platform. I dont want to use anything in BC to build the site, I just want to use the hosting platform. I do not want to import a BC site into dreamweaver or anything like that. I just want to use BC the same way I would use godaddy, or uhost or any other hosting provider. Based on your response you said that "of course its possible to build a BC site in Dreamweaver" I dont want to build a BC site, I want to build a Dreamweaver site and host it on the BC platform. Like I said before it doesnt seem like this is possible. As of now we can only build a new site in MUSE and integrate it into BC without using a BC template. Can you understand what I am saying. I DONT WANT TO USE A BC TEMPLATE, I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH BC WHILE I AM BUILDING THE SITE WITH DREAMWEAVER, JUST LIKE MUSE DOES.

I have Dreamweaver CS3 and have no trouble using it to access remote files. This is not a Dreamweaver CS3 issue.
Is your password correct.
Is your username is correct
Are you in the correct "root" directory for your website?
Is the server expecting SFTP (unlikely)?
Have you checked the Server Compatibility button and tried unchecking and checking FTP optimization and alternative FTP move method?
Has your hosting provider suddenly changed to IP v 6 (unlikely)?
Have you changed your firewall?
These are things to check out in Dreamweaver in the Remote Info panel in your Advanced Site Definition.

Adobe Muse Forms and GoDaddy

Has anyone come up with a solution for the consistent problem between Adobe Muse forms and GoDaddy hosting? I just spent an hour with GoDaddy and they said everything on their end was working. It was a script problem. I can't seem to get any answers from either Adobe or GoDaddy.

From your description is seems clear the issue is not with the Muse generated scripts. Those are identical regardless of what e-mail address you're sending to. If sending to your personal e-mail address works, but sending to an address on the same domain as the site does not, that most likely indicates one of two things: 1) The e-mail address is not setup correctly. (I assume that's not the case and you can send to the address from other sources without issue?) 2) Or, something on the server is configured to block e-mail from being sent to addresses on the domain of the site. Some hosting providers do this by default.
I expect this case is the latter and you have yet to reach a tech at GoDaddy who's familiar with this aspect of their e-mail processing via PHP sendMail.
The lack of SQL is a non-issue. SQL is not required for the correct processing of your form. When available SQL is used to limit the number of form submissions that will be accepted from a single IP address (site visitor) in a short amount of time. This "throttling" is performed to limit submissions from spammer's robots. Your form will work fine regardless of whether SQL is available. If you do receive spam from your form, adding a CAPTCHA is more effective at reducing or completely eliminating spam. Another less cumbersome method for site visitor's is simply to add a required checkbox will a label of something like "I'm a human" since spammer's robots will frequently not figure out they need to check the checkbox in order to get the form to submit.
There's nothing Muse can do to avoid a restriction on the server that prevents specific e-mail addresses from being sent to, short of providing or connecting to a completely different e-mail processing service than what's provided with your hosting. We may provide that option at some point in the future (for other reasons), but that's not an option right now.
If GoDaddy's support continues to point at Muse when told that sending to e-mail addresses not on the site's domain works fine and sending to addresses on the site's domain does not, and also told there's absolutely no difference in the PHP code for the two cases, then send me an e-mail and we'll talk to GoDaddy together. Can't "connect to database" from Dreamweaver CS3

This question maybe more appropriate for the PHP or MySQL Forum but since the problem is encountered in Dreamweaver CS3, I am going to first try getting help on this Forum.
I have a LINUX CentOS 5.3 Server with Apache (httpd-2.2.3) & PHP-5.1.6 installed. I also have a text site; httpd://ip.tib.com on it.
I am using a WinXP with DW CS3 to develop & test the above web site. Currently I am trying to setup a test dynamic page and am reading Dreamweaver USER GUIDE page 514 Chapter “Database Connections for PHP Developer”.
FYI, the Remote & Test Servers are setup for the web site under construction and connections to both are tested successfully from DW CS3.
Now when I try to test “Connect to a database” (Dreamweaver USER GUIDE page 514) , I get the following error message:
Your PHP server doesn’t have the MySQL module loaded or you can’t use mysql_(p)connect function.
First of all, I can connect to the MySQL server and create/edit/delete tables from WinXP using Navicat Package. I have looked into “php.ini” on the LINUX server but can’t figure out what changes I need?
Any help is highly appreciated.

I have resolved this problem.
PHP 5.3 no longer bundles the MySQL libraries. I couldnot find the missing libraries anywhere. I switched back toolder versions of both MySQL & PHP, where MySQLlibraries are bundled with PHP package.
Problem solved.

Mail.app and Godaddy mail problem

I'm trying to set up Mail.app to retrieve and send mail through a godaddy mail account. The servers are pop.secureserver.net and smtpout.secureserver.net; the port settings are set up correctly (110 and 25); SSL is, correctly, on for POP and off for smtp; account names and passwords have been verified and reverified; all seems correct. These settings work in Microsoft Entourage and in Thunderbird -- no problems there. But in Mail, the connection with POP times out; and the smtp server refuses the connection or doesn't repond. I'm using 10.5.3 on a MacBook Pro 2.2Ghz with Mail v 3.3. I don't want to abandon Mail. Is there some solution to this? I can work around the smtp problem by using a different server, if necessary, though I don't want to. HELP!!!!

I am in the same boat. None of the GoDaddy support information is up to date and they just tell me they don't support other applications.
I have a GoDaddy web site and email that goes with it. Everything is set up correctly on the GoDaddy end regarding my SMTP relay settings. It would be nice to find a clear and concise example of correct settings as I complete opening a "New Account".

My iphone is connected to wireless but itunes and appstore doesnt work. Safari doesnt open websites?

My WiFi is connected to my iphone 5s but if I will open the appstore,itunes etc they say 'cannot connect to app store'. And if I open Safari, there is no 'server'. I restart my iphone but nothing changes. Please help me. Thank You. (Excuse me for my bad English)

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPhone a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Do not reset your router. Next, reset network settings on your iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

In this log file I can see you are getting Error : U44M1P7 while updating the software
This Error comes where language packs for software are not installed properly on the machine.
I would suggest to update Adobe Application manager from
Windows : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
MAC: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
then try to install the update if still you are not able to update software and getting same error then uninstall all the Adobe software selecting remove prefernces.
After uninstalling the software run the Adobe Cleaner tool(http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and remove the leftovers.

I have just upgraded from CS 6 (Dreamweaver) and now when I click on a picture on a web page in Dreamweaver it doesn't go to the folder where the photo is stored anymore. If this continues I'll have to go back to CS 6 as I have to put in alot of photos.

I have asked the Hosts to move it to Snow Leopard (you should not lose contact with it through any email links you get)
I also don't do Wirelss printing so I can't actaully help either.
