Constrict authorization of LSMW

Hey All,
I want to set up the authorization for the transaction LSMW. But the role should only be able to view a specific project. In the profil generator in the authorization objects I can change the activity to Display. But how can I set up that the role can only view one specific project? Is there a authorization object for that?
Thanks and best Regards
Pascal

Hi,
there is authorization object B_LSMW_PRO. For some reason it does not have activity but you can use it to restrict users for particular projects. You should be able to achieve your goal with combination with authorization object B_LSMW.
Cheers

  • LSMW authorization objects

    Hi,
Say I'm authorized to post G/L entry on Company 0001, through FB01 or F-02. And in the same time, I don't have authorization to post on Company 0002.
Recently, I was using LSMW for mass uploads (through FB01), I've mistakenly typed 0002 in the LSMW upload file, and SAP posted the transaction successfully. Is this a normal LSMW behavior (since as I said, I don't have authorization on Company 0002)?
    Regards,

LSMW is a workbench, it has its own authorization objects to use the workbench
But postings done through LSMW execution are controlled by the usual transaction specific authorization objects.
If you have recorded FB01, then it does not matter whether you do FB01 directly or en mass through a batch input via LSMW, you must have authority to use FB01 for company code 0002 to post documents there.
So overall, you need authorization to work with LSMW, authorization to work with batch input sessions, and finally the application specific authorization to do FB01 for company 0002.
However authorization is additive, if your company has a role for LSMW which includes application specific objects then you might have got a wider authorization with LSMW role assignment than you had before.
I for example could create the LSMW objects, built the rules, transport the LSMW objects, create batch input sessions, but I do not have authority to execute those batch input sessions, and I do not have any rights to post FB01 in a production system.

  • Constrict the authorization for materials in SD-Order

    Hi,
this is my first post in SDN, i hope I can find a solution to my question here...
I want to constrict the authorization for materials in SD-orders.
I tried using the authorization group in material view 'basic data1', but this seems to be unique to the material data maintenance.
what authorization object can be used?
    Many thanks!
    Sebastian Weiss

    Thank you for your answer,
    i already tried this.
here are my settings in the TA PFCG:
    M_MATE_MAR:
    ACTVT     03
    BEGRU    BL
    M_MATE_MAT:
    ACTVT     03
    BEGRU   BL
    M_MMATE_WGR:
    ACTVT     03
    BEGRU   BL
I want to authorize the usage of the material data in an SD-Order, not the material maintenance.
We have two groups of users. Group 1 is allowed to use certain materials. These materials must not be used by users of group 2.
what can i do to solve this problem? what options do I have?

To perform activities in the LSM Workbench, you require the appropriate authorizations. The LSM Workbench has the following four authorization levels:
    Authorization Level
    Profile
    Function
    Display
    B_LSMW_SHOW
The user can display all the projects and their associated steps. The user is not allowed to switch to the change mode.

  • LSMW - Logical File Path not pointing to Physical Path

    Hi All,
I'm trying to upload some MIGO goods movement transactions through LSMW.  I'm to step 7, specifying files, and am getting the error "No logical file path has been specified.  I saw another thread which helped me, but I am still stuck after reading it.
Re: Error in Creation of Purchase Requisition through LSMW
I have gone into transaction FILE and created the logical file name MM_GOODS_MOVEMENT, and set the physical file as the .lsmw.conv converted data file as the above thread says.  I also tried using the logical path LOCAL_TEMPORARY_FILES for the converted data, but I get the error telling me that the path does not point to a physical directory.  I then tried creating my own file path, and setting the path to my desktop where the source file is, and the same error occurred.
Does anyone know why it is not recognizing the physical path maintained in the logical path?
    Thanks,
    J

    Thanks for both replies,
I have full authorization across all transactions in the sandbox system I am working in, so that is not an issue.  I filled the logical path field in the MM_GOODS_MOVEMENT logical file with LOCAL_TEMPORARY_FILES, as well as trying my own created file path, and I recieved the same error for each.  Here is how the config is currently:
    Logical File Path Definition:  MM_GOODS_MOVEMENT
    Syntax Group: WINDOWS NT
    Physical path: C:\Documents and Settings\jchanski\Desktop\<FILENAME>
    or,
    Logical File Path Definition:  LOCAL_TEMPORARY_FILES
    Syntax Group: WINDOWS NT
    Physical path: C:\temp\<FILENAME>
    Logical File Name Definition: MM_GOODS_MOVEMENT
    Physical file: MM_MM_MIGO_INVUPLOAD.lsmw.conv
    Data format: ASC
    Applicat.area: MM
    Logical path: LOCAL_TEMPORARY_FILES or MM_GOODS_MOVEMENT
Do you see any error with this Brajvir?  Thanks!

  • How to use LSMW on CRM for bulk master data creation?

    Hello Experts,
I need your help to able to use LSMW on CRM for bulk master data creation. Below is described my detailed requirement; -
We have CRM 2007 integrated with SAP ISU (ECC6.0). As per business process all Business Master Data (BP details, Business Agreement details etc) and Technical Master Data (Connection Object, PoD etc.) is created in CRM and then it is replicated in ISU. We are going to start Assembly Test soon. Now we need to have all master data in place. Tool we want to use is LSMW.
Now can you help me right from scratch on how to use LSMW for bulk master data creation in CRM?
Please give me documents / links etc that is relevant.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Hi,
I have looked into your query.
These are some information which might be useful to you.
    What is LSMW?
Legacy System Migration Workbench or LSMW is SAP standard program that can be used to easily load / change master data or transactions in SAP without any programming at all. It can be used to upload data at cutover, such as: open orders, contracts, materials, vendors, stock on hand. It can also be used in a production system to make changes to existing data. Very limited authorization checks are available on the transaction, so the use of it must be very well controlled.
One input file can be used to create all the views of the material master. For all the material types. Even if different views and fields are used for the different materials.
    Steps to take
    1. Create text file with data to be loaded
    2. Set up and run LSMW
The following link will provide good information on LSMW Idoc method:
    I hope this helps.

  • LSMW - Logical Path/File - No logical path has been specified

    Hello,
I am trying to create a LSMW with the RM06EEI0 direct input program for ME21N transaction.
At the SpecifyFiles step I get the error message "No logical path has been specified".
    My dilemmas are:
    1. How can I solve this error? Is the FILE transaction only solution? If yes, where and how I must define the logical path/file?
    2. Why in the case of the Batch Input Recording LSMW Method this files are created automatically? (I can see them in the AL11 transaction and I didn't define them by myself).
    3. Why on other system this error is just an warning message? If you look at this tutorial  http://****************/Tutorials/LSMW/PO/Page4.htm at Step7.g. you can see that there is no need of defining the file/path in FILE transaction.
More info about the system I am working in:
    SAP ECC 6.0.
    LSMW 4.0.0. Version.
    Thank you.

    Hi
Refer the oss note 753511 released for this kind of error you face in LSMW, I am pasting the content of the note below,
    ******************Note Content,
    Symptom
The system issues an error message for the logical path or file when you perform the "Specify files" step in the Legacy System Migration Workbench (transaction LSMW) although you have made the correct assignment in transaction FILE.
The error messages are as follows:
The logical path <PATH> does not point to the physical directory.
The logical file <FILE> is not assigned to the physical file.
    or
A logical path was not specified.
    Other terms
Logical path, logical file, transaction FILE, LSM Workbench
    Reason and Prerequisites
Some import interfaces that you can also use with transaction LSMW work with logical path and file names.
Transaction LSMW itself, however, works with physical file names. To be able to transfer the LSMW file with the converted data to the import program, you must specify a logical file name for the file with the converted data in addition to the physical file name. In this case, the system displays additional fields in the 'Specify files' step in which you must enter the logical path and file name.
    Solution
The error messages may be due to several causes. Check the following:
Have you maintained the logical path and logical file name and have you assigned them to the physical file specified in the "File" input field of transaction LSMW?
These settings are maintained in transaction FILE.
When you use logical file and path names, you must specify the name of the physical file with its path. If you have not specified any directory, you cannot assign any directory to the logical path in transaction FILE. In this case, the system uses the SAP Home directory on the application server by default. Bear in mind that the file name must not exceed the maximum length of 45 characters, including the path.
Up to LSMW version 1.7.2 (*):
If the logical file name specified does not point to the physical file (although it should do), the system adjusts the logical file name, that is, the information in transaction FILE is changed to the entries made in transaction LSMW. This may lead to unwanted side effects if the logical file is also used somewhere else. Therefore, SAP recommend that you always use separate logical paths and file names for transaction LSMW (the problem is corrected as of LSMW version 1.8.0, see below). If the logical file does not exist yet, it will be created upon request.
As of LSMW version 1.8.0 (*):
The settings of the logical file are checked but no longer adjusted automatically as in version 1.7.2 (see above). If there are inconsistencies, the system issues an error message. If the user is authorized to maintain logical paths and file names (as for transaction FILE: "Maintenance authorization for cross-client tables"), transaction LSMW can create the logical path, the file name and the file. Due to this automatic generation, the user no longer needs to make adjustments in transaction FILE. Therefore, we especially recommend this procedure.
To display the version of transaction LSMW, select "Extras" --> "Display LSMW version" in the main menu of the initial screen.
You should also bear in mind that as of Basis Release 6.20, that is, as of LSMW version 4.0, transaction LSMW is no longer an add-on but is delivered with the standard system.
    Hope this helps,
    Sunil

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to upload Goods movement Using the Standard LSMW 0110 program RM07MMBL.

The Source File is in my Local PC .
When I click the Converted Data File in the Specify files list
I get a popup which asks me for a Logical path and a Logical File and both these parameters a mandatory.
I tried to maintain the parameters and entries in transaction FILE also.
But it says 'logical path not assigned to the physical directory.'
What is the correct method for this.

  • Vendor Master LSMW issue !

I'm sorry for reposting this thread but really need solution for this:
    Hi all,
I’m designing a lsmw for Vendor master [XK01] through recording , now the problem I’m facing is ,there are two fields whose technical names as well as description is same 1.Authorization[LFA1-BEGRU] occurring at account control section screen SAPMF02K-120V, Authorization[LFB1-BEGRU] occurring at accounting Info screen SAPMF02K-210V.
2.Terms Of Payment key[LFB1-ZTERM] occurring at SAPMF02K-0215, Terms Of Payment key[LFM1-ZTERM] occurring at SAPMF02K-0310.
Now after recording both of the fields are captured in rec but when I try to Map the fields in step 4 i.e field mapping I can map only one of them as there is only one fieldby these names, BEGRU,ZTERM in target structure. Because of them two fields are left unmapped in o/p.
One more question of mine is how can I give external vendor numbers in this LSMW???
    Thanks and regards
    Sachin

In my earlier response, I meant you can map one source field to 2 target fields.
apologies for writing the other way round.
Pls. check if you have maintained teh Structure relations and teh other previous steps correctly.
Here I am able to map one source fields to two different target field from diff. tables.
