Consumer application using ETW events for TCPIP tarffic message

I am planning to build a consumer application using ETW events in real time mode. My application is already set with EVENT_TRACE_REAL_TIME_MODE for KERNEL_LOGGER_NAME. And successfully consume the Registry and file events.
Interested in consuming Network events for TCP/UDP and looking for sample code (C++) that gets relevant data from _EVENT_RECORD structure.
Any sample application and relevant documentation will be of great help.

Amit,
SOA Suite is not yet certified for WLS 10.3. You have to wait for the certification of it.
At the moment you can't install the SOA Suite on WLS 10.3 nor connect from JDev 10.1.3 to it.

Calling producer/consumer subvi using main vi for image grab acquire

Hi everyone,
I am not sure if I get the producer/consumer concept wrong. I tried to write a producer/consumer subvi that simulate continuously grab acquire image. When I call the subvi from the main while loop with a main vi, it seems to run into a infinite loop. I am wondering does anyone know how else can I activate a producer/consumer subvi using main vi? Thanks in advance.

Hi Han Yen,
a few remarks :
- your Top VI has no function what so ever. So skip that.
- your image queue has no name, so that gives problems from the minute you're going to use more queues.
- It does not matter which command you send to the queue, it will start the bottom loop anyway
- You don't have a check whether "live trial" is true yes or no, so everytime you switch it from T=>F or F=>T is will activate the command.
I've tweeked your producer-consumer. Maybe this will give you an idea. I put some remarks in some places

Possible? Using External Definitions for data type/message type definitions

Hi all,
i want to use external definitons in my own data type definitions. Is that possible? And if yes, how?
I imported many definitions via a mass import. Now I also want to use these definitions for further interfaces (than the imported ones). The most convenient would be of course to just use them as a custom created type. Can I somehow "convert" an external definition to a data type/message type?

Hello Felix,
The External defination which you has been imported that cant use in DT and MT but yeah you can use this in Service interface.
you cant modify that External defination if you want to do that then 1st of all modify it and then reimport it as an another external defination.
and creating service interface with this ED you can use it in your message mapping .

Is there anyway to have an application use the output for Alerts/Sound Effects?

I am trying to set some applications to use the output designated for the System Alerts and Sound Effects, while other applications continue to use the regular Output? I am using the Audio MIDI Utility with Aggregate/Multiple Outputs.

An action can specify the resources that it needs, which will trigger alerts if they are not there. Assuming that the system resources are there, you can include actions in an application bundle - see the Installing Actions section of the Automator Programming Guide.

Using select event for interlayer navigation

Hi All,
              I have two tables. The output of first table is input for the second one. When I select a row in the first table,the SELECT event is fired and the second table is populated based on the selection.
             Now I have a scenario where the two tables are on separate layers. My requirement is that, the secondlayer should be brought in when the SELECT event is fired. I don't want to use a button to trigger a navigation event. I try naming the navigation event as SELECT but it didn't work.
     please help

          Yes your view i sright. But i had mistakingly mentioned a table. Its Bar chart actually. When a bar is clicked, second layer should appear with the detail table ouput.
      Though the table is filled with the click but the navigation is not happeneing. Do you have any idea abouit it ?

Installing a VB application using Oracle Provider for OLEDB

I have a corporate VB application that uses the Oracle 9i client.
The Oracle Client is on a network disk, so all my clients will not need to install on their client machines.
I am using Wise for Windows Installer to install the application on each client machine.
I need to include on the installation package the "Oracle Provider for OLEDB" files.
How can I do this?

The standard way to use the unmanaged Oracle.DataAccess is to install an Oracle client on any machine that wants to use the application.
It is possible to avoid that installation by including a bunch of DLLs and some other files in the application, but it's far more cumbersome than using the managed client. Using mouse event for right click or scroll

I would like someone to guide me that if there is any events which can be used for right click of the mouse or the scroll of the mouse(specially the scroll). Until now all the mouse event i have been using is based on the left mouse click, release...... So could anyone guide me how to use the right click and scroll of the mouse using actionscript.

You should try searching the forums using the key terms related to what you are after. I don't think you'll find much help for the right click though... appears to not be supported by Flash. How to use PAI event for subscreen

Hi Gurus,
I have created one main screen(1000). In that screen dynamically i need to display two subscreens(1001 and 1002).
In first subscreen I have created some input/output box. for example i have created A, B and C parameters in first subscreen.
I need to do the operation of C = A * B.
I can use pushbutton. When i press push button, I need to display the output in C.
Push button user command event is triggering in Main screen PAI only.
Please anyone explain me about that process.

Use of BPM for processing XML message

I have got a requirement for updating X-number and X- status into the SAP system from a non SAP system. I am getting the message which contains both these values in the form of xml and using HTTP and should be posted as 2 different IDOCs at the SAP system.
But the requirement is to post the X-number first and once it is updated X-status should be posted based on the number.
Assuming that X-number is available first and the status next in the non SAP system can we use BPM and if so how what needs to be done to make sure status doesnt update before number.

Proceed as follows:
1) Receive the X-message
2) have a transformation step....and map only the x-number into the target IDOC
3) have a synchronous send step....why a sync send....because in that you can get the confirmation for success/failure of your x-number upload....this is only if you want a confirmation...this will make sure that your x-number is updated first.....
4) now if you do not want to have a response back then...have a transformation step to map the x-status to your IDOC...then have a async send step...
5)
a)If sync send used: then you can have a condition like check the status of upload of x-number and if successful then send the x-status.
b) if failure then you can resend the x-number message.
c) if async send then you can directly send your x-status message.
Steps 3, 5(a), 5(b) can be avoided if async commn is used. If you want that your BPM runs somewhat faster then you can avoid the transformation steps....instead you can use the mappings in the respective interface detemination.

Custom OPN for ETW Events

I have an application writing ETW events which have a binary blob which represents an encoded message that can be further parsed (similar in function to the NdisEtwProvider). For some reason, however, I cannot get Message Analyzer to load or use the custom
OPN.
The OPN has an auto-started actor accepting EtwProviderMsg, which is the only registration I know to be required.
I have placed it in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\MessageAnalyzer\OpnAndConfiguration\TestOpns\Test Protocol.opn" and confirmed that my Provider Guid and Event IDs match, but Message Analyzer still seems only to parse using the automatically generated
OPN from the ETW manifest.
Is there an installation step I am missing, or some log location to see if it is silently failing?
I will note that the auto-generated OPN still exists in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\MessageAnalyzer\SystemEtwManifestOPNCache" and I am uncertain if that should be deleted.

So this is one of those cases where inattention causes problems. The folder in which OPN's are processed is "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\MessageAnalyzer\OpnAndConfiguration\Opns\subfolder\".

If your requirement is adding element into UI then create a group using element -> create group
then you can add element inside your group like Inputfield, button, text view and other.

Parallel processing for one large message

I have some troubles from messaging performance perspective.

Receiver:File Adapter
I'd like use parallel processing for one large message.
And the file for receiver is needed to be one file.

Can you elaborate your requirement more?
How are you trying to achieve parallel processing in XI.
Since you mentioned that the source is Proxy, there should be some trigger mechanism say selection screen, you restrict the values here and use append strategy in File and can execute the same.

Using a LabVIEW application as default program for opening files

Google has returned nothing useful on this. I want to use a built LabVIEW application to open data files from the Windows desktop. It is easy to edit the Windows registry to set the application as default program - but I'm not sure how to set the event in LabVIEW to open the file. Any suggested reading?

I have done this before...I have a small LabVIEW .exe which looks at the version of a VI and selects the appropriate version of LabVIEW to open it with if available. It also adds explorer context menu items for allowing you pick a specific version of LabVIEW to open the file with.
This is a rough idea of the registry keys for adding a program to handle specific file types and to add items to the shell menu in the installer:
Add your own 'LabVIEWOpenWithVersion' key and then add the key name to the OpenWithProgids for the file extensions you want to be able to open with your application. The command part looks like this:
Look at the Windows/MSDN help for what the different keys mean and how they are used, I think you can also set a key to make one of your handlers (e.g. Open, openWithLV) the default for the file type.
For getting the file that was opened 'with' your application, use the App.Args property, ignoring the first item (which is always LabVIEW) in the array.
