Container Element Names

I would like to know where I can find the element names used in SRM containers so as I can retrieve the values using swc_get_element, etc.

Hi,
I am not clear of this question.
But still I can give you some inputs as per understanding.
See, the data transfer between Workflow and Method is done through Container Elements Binding. So for you to get to know the name of the Container element in METHOD,You can refer the PARAMETERS defined for the method.Whatever mentioned in PARAMETERS,you can use with MACROS - SWC_SET/GET_ELEMENT/TABLE.
Coming to RULES,you can determine the RULE CONTAINER ELEMENTS in the Rule Definition.

Which container element contains the triggering event name?

hi,gurus,
i have a workflow template, and i want to use a 'switch' to deal with different triggering event inside the template logic.
but i can not find a element in the container which supposed to contain the triggering event name.
could you please help me ?

Hello,
The element which stores the name of triggering event is '_EVT_NAME' which is present in the event container. To use it in the workflow template, you have to create an element in the workflow container and bind this element to the above mentioned element through the binding for triggering event.
Thus you can use the workflow container element in the switch.

Assigning a value to container element in rule defination

I am using a rule to determine an actual agent. I am using a function module containing actor_tab and ac_conatiner in TABLES parameter. the agent determined is appended to internal table actor_tab. I want this agent to be available in a container element(say: APPROVER) to use it further. I am trying to assingn the agent value to container element using macro swc_set_element ac_container 'APPROVER' agent-name. But its not working...any other way to assgn this agent to the container element. Bindings from workflow container to rule container are proper.

i think you cannot modify the container element from Rule.
the agents of the task determined by the Rule will be stored in some variable of the container automatically (i think it is RuleResult.Agents). you can check this yourself and then bind this element of the task to your APPROVER element.

BPM - An empty container element was specified when sending

Hello Experts,
My BPM process looks as below:
Receive -> Loop (execute if the status of IDoc is ERROR(E))--> Mapping ---> End Loop --> Send
The message is failing in BPM workflow with the log: An empty container element was specified when sending
Container for receive and send stepe are different. IP in SXI_CACHE has process code 0.
Mapping program is defined between the abstarct msg type of receive step and abstract msg type of Send step.
Th message being processed has initial status as ERROR and after the mapping step is exceuted, it retrieves teh current status i.e SUCCESS. This ends the loop step and while tying to send the messgae to target system, this error occurs.
Pls advice if I am missing anything.

Go to transaction SWWL , select your integration process instance and delete it
Create your process with a new name and run the scenario again

BPM Alert Container Elements Not Filled

Hi All,
Another problem i am facing when i am raising alert from BPM.
In inbox i see alert message being raised but with no text.
I have also subscribed to email alerts.
In the email the subject is Process 000000008058
and the content is the first alphabet of the AlertMessage container element.
Ex : In BPM my container element is AlertMessage and the message assigned is Error . Then in email message i only get E. where as in alert inbox i get nothing.
ps : im using XI 7.0 SP 9. there are no notes which are applicable for this release.

the container tab is available but the Long& Short text tab is disabled.
I did not mean that..
What i meant was see next to the Properties tab in Alert Category defination there is a Container tab where we define our own container elements.
Do i need to define the names there..or i can directly use in the BPM?

How to Initialize Container Element in BPM..No Payload found

Hi All,
How do we initialize a container element in BPM if that container element is a message Interface.
I am doing exception handling in BPM, so whenever a exception occurs i need to send a mail.
So in the exception box i have a transformation step and a send step.
In the transformation step what will be my source message?
How do i initialize that source message?
What i have done right now is created a dummy interface(abs) for source and then mapped with the target abs interface.
When i execute the schenario,in the monitor i find in the Transformation step the following error
No payload found.

I too agreee. Lemme try to explain witha example.
In my first transformation, MI_MAIL_TEMP_ABS is there along with 3 other interfaces. Each one is getting mapped i can see that in monitoring.
Now in the exception branch in transformation step,
i am mapping MI_MAIL_TEMP_ABS to MI_MAIL_ABS.
Now in the send step im giving MI_MAIL_ABS as the interface name.
Do you see anything wrong with this?

Urgent - How to pass value to Multiline container element in workflow

Hi,
I hav a requirement as below...
1) In a Bus. Object, there is a method with a parameter which is Multiline.
2) When I execute it directly from Bus. Object, I am able to populate any no. of lines to the multiline parameter & execute it. It is working correctly.
3) Now I have created a task for the same Method & used it in my workflow.
4) I want to pass multiline values to the parameter from workflow.
5) I dont have any internal table being filled in the previous steps. I directly want to assign variables or constants to it.
How can I do it????

I am also facing same type of problem. i am new to workflow. i am using using FM sap_wapi_write_container. to write into the container. but here my problem is i don know wat is the element name to refer to the value. if i give any element naem its taking as separate element & not as the same multiline container. i hope u will be able to assist me since u have worked on the same type of problem.

Unable read container element in the BO

Hi
I have created a new container element in the task and trying to pass the value and read the same value in the bussiness object method
using the statement "SWC_GET_ELEMENT CONTAINER 'Classification' l_KLGRU1". I have created the the container element in parameters of the BO method.
In the task binding I am direclty passing the container value i.e my case
Classification = FI
"SWC_GET_ELEMENT CONTAINER 'Classification' l_KLGRU1".
But the above statement is not returning the value at all.
Where am I going wrong....

This question is going waaaaaayyyy off-topic, sorry about that Krishna. Just a final response from me, pointing people in the right direction if they are not already aware of another great forum.
There is a debate (see the Coffee Corner forum which I try to read at least a few times a week) going on with respect to technical solutions to reduce the number of repeated questions and questions to which the answer is available on help.sap.com. There are many suggestions already, some of which are:
forcing a forum search before posting (as when creating customer messages on service.sap.com)
restricting the number of open questions a user can have
a solution as in Experts Exchange where asking a question cost you some points, thus encouraging people to find the answers from previous questions and saving their points for a question that they really can't find an answer to
forcing a period as lurker, i.e. a new member can not post before he has visited the forums X number of days
Obviously, not all suggestions will be implemented, and not all are desireable. For instance, forcing a period as a lurker can shut out people who have spent 15 days trying to solve a problem on their own before finally deciding to give SDN a try.

why we need to create a Container element in Alerts and there are some standard elements like SXMS_MSG_GUID, SXMS_RULE_NAME etc. wht is the purpose of these std. elements and mostly where they are applicable?

Hi,
Container element is just a element which hold the values.
its like a strucutre which is used to hold the values in this case SXMS_MSG_GUID will hold the SAP message ID.
Some of the example are:
Have u created data type in XI what u do is u give some name to data element and then specify the type now that element will hold the value which is coming to XI.
Similarly for IDOC strucutre.

Container element value late update in ECC6

Hi All,
I have a problem with container element "RECEIVED" which has incomplete value. I'm using function SAP_WAPI_READ_CONTAINER (simple container) in my custom object ZBUS2081 method priceapproval. When 2nd person want to approve the workitem, the container value of element name "RECEIVED" only has previous approval person instead of table that has 2 line values (previous person who has already approved and 2nd person who want to approve this workitem).
We have upgrade our SAP version from 4.7 into ECC6/ERP6, which in 4.7 version this container element returned table of 2 line values.
Since the container element value has late to update the value, then it did not recognise as a final approval at the end of workflow step and raise an error for agent determination. If there is any related SAP note, please let me know.

            Your RECEIVED container stores approver details.
            Please check the binding between method container to task container to workflow container.Imperfect binding could be a reason why approver details are not populated properly.It seems your container is multiline container.Make sure the method,task and workflow containers are multiline enabled.
           Check at SWO1, whether the PRICEAPPROVAL method behaves as expected and if you are using rule for agent determination, you have to check the rule at PFAC as well as binding details.Also check at workflow log.
            Hope you have delegated ZBUS2081.

Error message for View Container Element that is no longer existing

Hi Experts,
i have problem in my webdynpro component. After perform the Code Inspector I get a error message accordingly View Container element.
In one of my view I have rename the name of a viewcontainer element.
Afterwards I could the find the ViewContainer element with new name in my window. But there is also displayed the view container element with the name before renaming. Therefore the code inspector give the error message:
"View Container ..... does not contain a View Container UIelement".
I try different ways to solve it, but it is not possible to delete the displayed ViewContoinerElement in window(that is no longer existing) and it is also not possible to find the ViewContainerElement with the old name in the View.

Instead of trying to delete the View Container UI Element in window, Delete the View itself in window and then re-map it again to the window by simply drag and drop.

Step Container Element not getting updated

Hi,
I have created a step container element for handling comments with the same ABAP dictinary structure & import export parameter of a existing workflow conatiner element & binded with the WF container & step conatiner & i have the saved & activated the WF template sucessfully.but when action is being taken from portal on a Workitem then comments are being passed to the WF container but the step container that i created is not getting updated . i checked in SWI6 , it's showing not set.
can any help me on this regard.?

Actually, I believe the problem is related to binding.
When called in the foreground, object references (and data references) are present in memory for all subsequent processing.
You probably need to make the CONTAINER "Persistent".
In your code, call the macro SWC_CONTAINER_TO_PERSISTENT <container name here>. For example:
SWC_CONTAINER local_container.
SWC_CREATE_CONTAINER local_container.
" Set you Container elements
" SWC_SET_ELEMENT local_container 'Element01' lv_element01.
" SWC_SET_TABLE local_container 'Element02' lt_table02.
SWC_CONTAINER_TO_PERSISTENT local_container.
" Start your workflow passing local_container.
Something like this...

Over Time Workflow Container elements not updated

Hi,
I am using Standard Task TS20000459 for approval of Overtime entered for an employee in CAT2 transaction.
Work item is getting generated to his manager's inbox.
Issue is, subject of the work item should have employee number and Employe name. Standard Task contains Container elements &TS_PERNR& and &TS_ENAME& which is not getting filled with any values.
Can any one suggest me how to get the same?

I faced the same problem...And i resolved that problem by binding...
Create the container element for PERNR and ENAME in the standard task ts20000459 as well as in workflow container.Then bind those container values.
Before bind the workflow and task container, you have to bind the workflow container with the event container.
