Content Filtering - exe file
Hi
we are using SJES 6.2 for our Mailing system and i have following doubts.
1) In which file & where we are specifying content filtering ??
2) content filtering means
if any user sends an exe file or any other specified file to our mail
server it should be rejected or bounced back to same user .
3) Plz let me know if anybody knows how to configure content
filtering ???
Thanks in Advance
The only way for Messaging Server itself to do content filtering, such as you request is through the Conversion Channel. This is pretty inefficient.
What most user do, is use external products, such as SpamAssassin, ClamAV, and such, which do a better job, more efficiently. These two products are free.

Newly opened boxed copy of Photoshop Elements 12 won't install on new installation of Win 8.1. Turned off virus checking (which shouldn't be necessary), Searched files on DVD, unzipping payload files, including the temporary Premier software, and there are on setup.exe files anywhere. Tried viewing XML files with browser, which readers xml. Don't have time to investigate Adobe install procedure, which appears pretty sophisticated (I've written a few years ago). Any clues?
Thanks mytaxsite. Yes, I bought it at Costco, and of course have the serial number on the box. I'm a Microsoft developer, and searched the DVD, copying the contents to a hard drive and unzipping the "payload" files. I understand folder viewing filters and found lots of setup.xml files, which I could have used, with some difficulty, to see where Adobe wanted to put things. But Adobe knows its installation procedure better than I ever will, and so tried to get tech support. I even have full Photoshop CS5 on an adjacent machine, used by my daughter, but wanted to have basic editing functionality on a machine I use for film scanning.
I never allow anything to be installed without a dialog, whether from my own or a removable storage device. The Windows loader apparently didn't detect autoloading functionality and only offered me the options of viewing files and trying to find multimedia, if I recall (which, since it was irrelevant, I didn't note precisely). I just wanted to see the files anyway, at which point I was puzzled by the lack of setup.exe. I did, as Adobe suggested, disable my virus scanning software, but not my firewall. It made no difference, and I expected none. Though I've found no legitimate software that couldn't be loaded with virus scanning enabled.
I suspect your suggestion that I download fresh software from Adobe is the correct one. It is what I expected Adobe Technical support to suggest. Having some confidence in this newish machine, with its newish, and almost unused, BluRay/DVD burner, and my care handling DVDs, I was guessing at some xml-based installation procedure that I might need to install. Few Costco customers, not in the software business would know where to look, so I'm curious about how Adobe could ship something lacking the old-fashioned setup.exe, twenty+ year old technology based on the DOS shell? On the other hand, if there are new standards for installation scripts, I would like to know what they are using. -
I have had a weird issue come up with our content filtering today, and am wondering if anyone else has come accross it.
We have a number of Content Filters setup. One of these it looking for various media files including .wmv files (We have used a "Attachment-filename == "\\.wmv"" to look for them).
This works as required. However this morning out outbound Media File content filter trapped a message containing a wmv file going out that had been received by the user the night before.
this message last night was processed by the IronPort, the wmv was not hidden or re-named in any way. It was just not stopped by the content filter.
I have checked everything I can think of and I can see no reason why the message wasn't stopped. WMV's are being stopped OK as I type this.
Has anyone else come accross or noticed this.
This is on a C650 Appliance running 5.5.1I may have to test this on my machine but it may be that the filename that got pass the filter was in uppercase maybe and that's how it sneaked through. Your filter looks for only lowercase filenames that end with ".wmv".
The only thing that is case-insensitive by default is the "mail-from" and "rcpt-to". Almost everything else (subject, message-body, other-headers, filenames) are case sensitive. To make these things case insensitive, you'll want to prepend your filter with this:
Attachment-filename == "(?i)\\.wmv"
or
Attachment-filename == "(?i)\\.(exe|bat|com|sh)"
(?i) --> means ignore the case on whatever follows this regex. You pretty much want to use this in most cases to be safe since match whether it's upper or lowercase. Performance-wise, it should be okay.
By the way, Ironport filters use Python regex.
Again, I'll have to test this on my side.

Cannot delete exe files - The action can't be completed because the file is open in Windows Explorer
We have received 3 new computers with Windows 8.1. All of us 3 have the same problem: we cannot delete exe files with message "The action can't be completed because the file is open in Windows Explorer"
For example, I download skypeinstall.exe on desktop, install the program correctly and then try to delete the file: file is in use by Windows Explorer, cannot be delete.
We reboot computer, we are able to delete the file. But, if I restore the file from the recycle bin on the desktop, I cannot delete it again until I reboot the PC. I used ProcessExplorer to see what is locking it and I can see 5 instances of explorer.exe
locking the file.
I can always reproduce the same way:
1-Reboot
2-Delete exe file
3-Restore file
4-Delete stop working and 5 explorer.exe handle are locking it.
I have tried the following so far after reading multiple threads:
- De-activating Windows Search service
- Activating User Experience service
- Deleting from command prompt (no success)
- In folder options: inactivate display icon on thumbnail and activate always display icons, never thumbnail
- Changing folder view (contents, detail, small icons...)
- Using Lock Hunter - not working until reboot
None of these worked.
We all have Windows 8.1 with Crucial SSD drive, could the problem be linked with the SSD drive incompatibility?
Any help would be appreciated.Hi,
Please try to make a clean boot for your system, then check if this problem resolved.
Clean Boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
If problem persists, try to open Resource Monitor to check handle of Explorer.exe, if there any exception, end them for test.

How to open and play .exe file in Mac?
I am a new Mac user from of course Windows. I have a CD product catalogue which comes in a .exe format. There seemed no way that I can view the contents in Mac.
Does anyone have any solution for this?
Any help is most appreciateAs Thomas A Reed points out, an exe file is a windows application. I don't know why a product catalog would be in an exe file but I suppose it's possible. It seems more likely that the exe file is an application that either downloads the catalog or opens and displays a disk file containing the catalog; in the latter case you may already have the actual product catalog on your disk drive. Your might try using Spotlight to search for files with names containing key words related to your product catalog name. You also could use Spotlight to search file contents for key words you may recall from the catalog contents. Finally, is this possible: Use your old Windows PC or borrow one and run your "product catalog." While it is running, check for an option to export the information you need to a file in a format (say, text) that is readable on your Mac.

How to read the contents of a file from batch file
Hi
I have a text file which contains exe files. I need to read those exe file names and then execute the same in order they occur. Sample content of the text file a.txt is as below.
"If you are looking at previous version then use 8792xINT.EXE if you are looking for the current version then check 8793xINT.exe
please use README.TXT file before you use any above files"
I need to read and execute 8793xINT.exe from above text in batch file. Here number 8793 is variable changes as version changes but xINT.exe is constant.
Thank you in advance

Unable to run an exe file from a Servlet
I am not able to run a Servlet that calls an exe file using the following code. trial.exe is was built from a C program and it is simply a program that creates a text file with some content. I am using Tomcat 6.0 and JDK 1.5 on a Windows XP.
{color:#000080}try
Runtime rt=Runtime.getRuntime();
String[] command = {"C://Tomcat 6.0//webapps//ROOT//WEB-INF//classes//trial.exe"};
{color}
{color:#000080}
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);
p.waitFor();
catch(Throwable t)
// System.out.print(t.getMessage());
}{color}
Before running the code on Tomcat I've compiled the code above in a simple java programe and it executed without any problem.
Then I compiled the code within a servlet. No luck. Then I treid the following options:
Executed the Tomcat service under the context of a user by specifying a user(Log On option) for the Tomcat service.
Then with Local System Account, selecting “Allow service to interact with desktop”.
this time also, no luck. Can somebody help me on this please ?
BJJFor clarity I am rewriting the last sentences here:
Then I compiled the above code within a servlet successfully and invoked the servlet from a browser with and without the following settings of Tomcat 6.0.
1. Executed the Tomcat service under the context of a user by specifying a user (Log On option) for the Tomcat service.
2. Then with Local System Account, selecting Allow service to interact with desktop.
I was not succeeded with any of the methods mentioned above. -
How to display a .exe file in java applets by avoiding the file downloadbox
Hi sir,
I know that in order to display a any file(or)program in java applets you need to use showDocument().Where you cannot use exec() in java applets.
My problem is that when i use showDocument() to display .exe file.It is showing a file download dialog box.If we click & open only it is opening that .exe file.Here i want to open the .exe file without showing that file download dialog box in java applets.
Since,i am undergoing a project which involves it,it is quite urgent.pls.do provide the exact code in java applet without showing that file download dialog box.If it can't be done pls. do provide any other possibilities in order to be displayed on the browser.Thank U.
Regards,
m.ananthuHi!
I think you it's better to write a server socket program
in server and open a socket connection to server socket then
send exe file content via connection.
(I guess you know applets only have permission to open socket connection to their code base)

Oracle 9iLite download setup.exe file does not work
Like many people (I am discovering more by the minute), I am unable to install 9i Lite.5.01. When the setup.exe file is triggered, a hourglass appears for a second, then nothing...
I am installing on a windows 2000 terminal server, therefore I have to go through (Control Panel) Add/Remove Programs. The Oracle Universal Installer says that setup.exe is either a directory or is corrupt.
I have tried a couple of fixes suggested in this forum, such as unzipping the files to /install/disk, but to no avail. I have also tried downloading the software again, but with the same results.
Is there anyone out there who has successfully overcome this problem ?Yes, there has been a problem reported with setup.exe on the Pentium 4 processor.
To overcome the problem, copy the contents of the CD on to your hard drive.
Then search for every occurence of the file symcjit.dll under the base directory where u have copied from your CD.
and rename them to symcjit.old.
Then launch setup.exe.
This should take care of the problem -
Conditions based on "EnvelopSender" in Content Filters
When defining Content Filters, I need to define conditions based on the sender of an email. For example, if the sender is Jim or John, and Subject Line contains a tag [CONFIDENTIAL], the action should be to encrypt the mesasge.
I realize this could easily be done using LDAP groups. But my problem is that for a number of opertaional reasons I cannot connect our IronPort to our corp LDAP.
An alternative is to directly code the user names in the condition statement. This is ugly and problematic for admins and possibly causes other problems as the number of users grows. Could anyone suggest an alternative?
Is there any option of having the Condition statement open a file and read the "sender" names from the file maintained somewhere on the local or a remote disk? Any other option?
Thanks.I would suggest looking at creating a dictionary that would list the addresses of the individuals. You can use that dictionary from which to base your planned action. Using LDAP is by far the better option for keeping a list up to date, as the dictionary will need to be updated regularly as addresses change, added or removed.

Using Content filters (HTML Filter)
Hello.
I'm having problem displaying an html-page in the portal with an url-iview. The problem is that the portal is accessed using HTTPS, and the url-iview links to a html-page using http.
This will generate a popup in internet explorer about unsecure content.
I thought that a way to solve this could be to connect KM to the page and then let the url-iview show the html-page throw the KM Repository.
This works fine, however there is still one problem.
Inside the HTML page, there is <IMG src> tags that reffers to the http site.
How can I configure HTML filters to rewrite all image and stylesheet references via KM instead of to the http-site?
I've tried to understand the documentation on Content Filters (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/55/921d7bb0c611d5993800508b6b8b11/content.htm), but I don't know what to write in "Base Tag" property, or ir this even works.
Does anyone know if there is an example about this? Or perhaps know how to configure this?
Regards, MikaelThis can be done, but it might not be a optimal solution. You would basically parse each HTML file and replace the links before streaming the content. You can create your own version of com.sap.km.cm.docs component which streams the content of a HTML file by replacing the links. And you would use your own component for creating the KM doc iviews that way you will have altered HTML links.

Problem running .exe files
I cannot run .exe files on Windows 10. A pop-up window shows a message that the .exe file I am trying to run is missing. What can I do to solve this problem ?
Keep in mind that the Win 10 build "refresh" operations are clearing parts of the registry back to default values, so some things you've installed might end up uninstalled or only half installed after an upgrade to a new TP build.
What EXACTLY is going wrong? In other words, exactly what are you trying to do, and what is the exact content of the message(s) you're seeing.
Details matter.

Problem in displaying exe file
For my project, I need to display the text and picture contents stored in the database based on date(daywise). Afterwards I need to display an exe file and this cycle has to repeat. I'm able to display the first portion and the second portion(exe execution) is not being displayed. If I make the second portion as separate file it works but not together. Is it because i'm using Panels and Labels? Pl suggest solution. Here is the code.

What is .rar? and why does it spawn a .exe file on my computer?
I download things often, and have recently gone through some old discs that were burned by a pc, and downloaded them onto my new macbook pro.
Just curious what this 34544.rar thing is and why it expands, but doesnt' open.
In laymens terms, could someone fill me in?
It looks complicated. When I clicked on it, it made 2 new files there in my folder. dddd.1.exe, followed by ddd.exe-
Id like to know what that is.
Thanks for your time as well.
-anA .rar file is a form of archive developed by Eugene Roshal, and called Roshal ARchive format (RAR.)
The contents of the archive you have is obviously a .exe file which is a DOS or Windows executable binary (hence, exe.) They do not run on Macs.
