Content Integration Question

Just a quick question for the initial set up of my application;
The home, about us, contact us, i.e. all the basic "static" pages are coming from XML files on the server.
I have built the template that houses the skin for these initial pages. I have one "content" section in the center, that will represent this changing XML content.
Is a Portlet the best place to display this data? In other words, I will have a SINGLE template and a single portlet that displays different data based on which page is being called. Correct?

Content Integration Q.

I am developing a site on Webcenter 11g using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.
This question related to content integration.
My initial public facing site will have a single template that encompasses about 4-5 pages. An "about us", "careers", "contact us". I wish to have a single template, which I have already built using templates and fragments, and in the center, the dynamic content.
Now, all of the DATA for the center box comes from XML files which are generated nightly. So I just need to populate the content with the data from these XML files.
My question relates to the best way to deliver that content, assumign the same template wraps it on each page. My guess would be a SINGLE portlet that calls the data and displays it.
Would this be a safe assumption? No UCM being used, XML files only for content.

Thank you in advance... from just reading the description, it seems like a fairly straightforward use of "OmniPortlet" - you'll implement an OmniPortlet in your site layout at design time, then configure OmniPortlet on your individual pages. (You'll have to create the 'proper' XSL translation for your content to appear how you'd like it to look - see the "Oracle Fusion Middleware User's Guide for Oracle WebCenter"; there's an example of using an XML document as content in the documentation.

Whoah, that’s a lot of questions, this should probably be on another thread. By far, this in not a definitive review. (only personal experiences).
But here goes…
Assuming you’re using WCI 10.3.0\ALUI 6.5.x:
What has your experience with UCM been like?
- Good. You should take UCM training to get the full breadth of what it offers.
- UCM Install: Pretty simple. If you know where to look.
- UCM is a Site Manager\builder and THEN some! CPS Portlet Integration covers a small set use cases of its full potential. UCM appears to be a stand alone product.
- CPS Portlet integration. Not tightly integrated… Currently, you will have to manually add the portal users in the USERS ADMIN utility in the UCM installation. CPS Portlets EAR file is deployed on the OC4J Container/frameworks, which makes it a "Producer". ALUI WSRP Piece is the "Consumer" of the CPS Portlets into the Portal. Make sure you have installed ALUI WSRP correctly. Suggest learning about “WSDL”s. Currently, ALUI WSRP only supports version 1.0 WSDL’s. Only use the version CPS Portlet 1.0 WSDL’s, it offers you both 1.0 and 2.0.
- What is OC4J Container? ‘http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/index.html’ Just install the oc4j frameworks… the full installation appears to be unnecessary.
Are the portlets good? Comparable to publisher in functionality?
- The CPS Portlet Suite only represents Administration Portlets for UCM. There is no single .PTE file for CPS Integration. Per Documentation, "3.2.2 CPS Consumption Steps". You have to manage your admin objects.
- There are no fancy wizards that will make your portlets, YET. Hopefully, this will be available in the future. Web service and portlet creation must be done manually. You must manually create your own web services to point at off site content.
How is the ease of use for non-technical content managers?
- Well, once it is set up and you’re trained on UCM. Sure it's snap.
Workflow simple?
- Sorry, I haven't worked with this functionality.
Comments: Publisher really pampers you with all its portlet wizards. Look for them in WCI 11G/above.

Content profile Checkin by cis (content integration suite)

Good Day ,
Iam using content integration suite for Oracle ucm my problem is :
i create a new document profile by ucm interface and i want to checkin contents (using cis from java code) to these custome fields in the created profile, so is there
any way to do that through cis by java code because there is mandetory fileds in another profiles ,that must be entered using (active.document.checkin.checkinFile ) because that i need content profile Checkin.

Are you able to checkin content with that profile in UCM interface? I think the mandatory metadata fields still needs to get filled even though you try to hide them through your profile. They might appear hidden but you will not be able to checkin the document, so you have to default it to predefined values.
Alternative is to tap the event "validate standard" in a custom component filter and then do necessary changes to the databinder. So is it CIS issue at all?

Process Integrator question?

Hi,
I'm not sure where to ask a Process Integrator question so I have
decided to ask here. I have been asked to look at business
process (workflow) automation. I have read the datasheet and your
whitepaper on Process Integrator and my question at the moment
is "How do we integrate Process Integrator with existing sets of
EJB's? How does it tie together with WebLogic 5.1 (is it a bunch
of EJB's deployed on top of the app server ala Commerce Server)?
I'm looking for more technical answers so that I have a reasonable
understanding in estimating how much work/effort it would take
to use this product. I also know that this is your engine for your
future Collaborate product, however, that product will not be
available soon enough to tackle our customers current needs.

SAP content integrator

Hello,
IN MDM 3.0 we hade Content integrator for matching stretegy.
what about MDM 5.5?
as in MDM 3.0 it was seperate installation of SAP CI
in MDM 5.5?

You are right. In older versions of SAP MDM 3.0, the matching statergy was executed by using Content Integrator. You can know about Content Integrator in the link below:

However, with MDM 5.5, you have the provision of executing the Matching Stratergy in Data manager itself. You do not require separate installation for that. To know about the Matching Stratergy in Data manager, you can refer to the link below:

Go to matching Mode. You will find the details of executing the Matching Stratergy in MDM. You have to define rules, stratergy etc and then you can run them on Records present in MDM so find out potential duplicates.

SharePoint w/ OneDrive Integration - Content Rules Question

I have set up and configured SharePoint 2013's "Content Rules". I have also tested it, and it is functioning properly. However, I am having an issue (obviously!).
If I am in the web interface of SharePoint 2013, logged into my site, and I upload a file using the "Upload" button, the file is uploaded and sorted 100% perfectly.
If I use OneDrive, however, (mind you, the Drop-off library IS sync'd and that is where I am uploading the docs) the file shows up in the Drop-off library and just "sits there". The Content rules are never applied or ran.
Why!?
If I can get some assistance or recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it!

Based on my tests, using "Upload one document" dialog of "Drop Off Library" directly to upload one document will trigger the router rule immediately.
When I sync the document from OneDrive to "Drop Off Library", it will trigger the router rule only when I run the timer job "Content Organizer Processing" for this particular web applicaiton, so you can set the proper schedule interval for this
particular web application timer job for solving this issue.

OAM SSO integration question:How can I get a user identity from ObSSOCookie

We are building an OAM SSO solution. The App server is both on OAS and WLS. My question is that, after I get the ObSSOCookie from httprequest.
I need to verify whether the ObSSOCookie is a valid one, and I also need to get user identity from the cookie and pass it to login module to populate user principal
Of course, one way of doing that is to install access manager SDK and go from there. But we support multiple OS, it's a pain to add Access manager SDK to different installer for different OS.
I am trying to use IdentityXML Functions which is a SOAP based webservice so that I don't need to worry about the OS platform. But I can't find a webService which returns user identity based on a valid ObSSOCookie. It seems that I can invoke webService with valide ObSSOCookie, but there is no way to get the user identity back. Am I missing something?

Ok. Sounds like you are a vendor trying to play well in an SSO environment.
Here is what I tell OAM customers when they are evaluating software to see if it will cooperate with a system like OAM.
Can the software's native authentication scheme be explicitly turned off (usually a configuration in a file)?
Can the software be configured to accept a token of identity in the form of a Cookie or HeaderVar (also configurable in a file)?
If the answer to both is yes, then the system is capable of 'third party trust' for authentication.
From your perspective, your logic for login should be something like:
Is my native authN turned off?
If yes, can I find the cookie or header that I should be looking for?
If yes, take the value and proceed to create user session for this identity per usual (except that you never evaluated the authN - you trust that it was done).
If no, present the native AuthN scheme anyway.
If you follow this pattern, you are in the good company of folks like PeopleSoft and Plumtree who had these types of integrations working long ago.
Yes, there are other ways to do this but, in my humble opinion, this remains the most stable and effective pattern we see.
What you ask for as the identity token value is up to you. It is often the login ID value that you would have used in your own authN procedure. There's nothing particularly sensitive about having a webgate set headers - they are only available to the server and not to the client. Cookie of course could be seen but can't be spoofed as the webgate has the final word on it's content.

Integration questions, Notes/Domino/Symphony, Intentia Movex, Oracle Formula

All,
A potential Portal customer wants to integrate several systems
into Portal, to show content and enter data. The systems in
question are Notes/Domino/Symphony, Intentia Movex, Oracle
Formula (and some others).
So far, I know about the Notes portlet in the PDK. I also see
that it is possible to access Domino via Java API's or HTTP, and
IBM's "Lotus Enterprise Integrator" and "Lotus Connector for
Oracle" could be used on the IBM side. On the Oracle side, I
know about 9iAS interconnect, which could be used as the basis
for the integration projects in question.
Any hints? Reusable solutions for the listed systems?

BI Content Upgrade Question

I am sure that I will get answer to my question.
We are currently on Add on Package BI Content 3.5.2 on SAP Netweaver04.
As per SAP Recommendation if we are going for BW 3.5 SP19
then we should have BI Content 3.5.3.
We need to know that when we upgrade BI Content 3.5.3 from BI Content 3.5.2 ->>>>> <b>will it overwrite</b> all existing BW objects including standard SAP delivered objects(Infoobjects,Infosurces,ODS, Infocubes etc). These existing SAP delivered BW objects are enhanced or modified by us in our BW system.
As per my understanding UNLESS I install new business content using RSA1-> Business Content the existing old content BW objects should not be overwritten by new content version.
Please help with your inputs.

According to the course material provided by SAP, you have to compare the Business Content objects with the existing objects in the A version.
1. You can change objects that were transferred from the Business Content, since only the derived A version and not the Business Content version of the objects will be changed.
2. Not all objects can be compared
3. If you do not compare the objects, the new version is transferred (copied) and the (old) A version overwritten when you activate the Business Content.

Content conversion question for JMS adapter

Hi,
I need to put this again here.
I have the scenario R/3 IDoc -> XI -> MQ (webshpere). MQ requires plain text.
I have the IDoc ORDERS05 in multi level (nested in layers). But using the how to guid to convert the content I could go up to on level.

Table of Contents Issue/Question

Hi everyone, I hope I can put my question accurately into words.
I'm working on a 450 page product catalog in Indesign CS5 for the mac. The catalog has 7 main sections, in which there are numerous smaller sections. I need to create a table of contents for these smaller sections, however, my issue is this; my table of contents is based on the product names which I've applied a paragraph style to, but, also included on the same line that the product name is, are several small icons. I used the library function to put these icons into place. I put my curser where I wanted the icons to be, went to the library, right clicked on the icon I wanted, and selected place item. I found this to be the easiest way since there were approximately 1500 products in the catalog. So, my issue is, now that I'm creating a mini-table of contents for these numerous sections, the icons are included in my table of contents, which I don't want. I can manually go in and delete each icon, but I'm thinking there has to be a faster way. I thought of possibly a grep style but can't figure out how to make that work.
Any help would be appreciated! It's going to take a while to delete each one of those. I hope I've described this accurately; please feel free to ask any questions if it's not clear.

Table of Contents navigation question in Captivate 5.5

Hi - I'm a fairly new user of Captivate (5.5.), and hope that someone can answer this question. I'm trying to set up a table of contents with navigation that will not let users go to slides that they have not yet viewed, but still enable users who have left and re-entered a course go back to any previous slide that they've viewed. Here are some details:
* I'm publishing the course using the SCORM 2004 setting, and testing it in SCORM Cloud and our LMS (Cornerstone)
* The table of contents navigation is set only to "Navigate visited slides only."
* After reading as many of the related posts as I could find on this forum, I've been able to get bookmarking to work - that is, the course will take the user back to where he or she left off. And by using the InfoSemantics TicTOC widget, when a user returns to the course, all previously viewed slides are checked off in the table of contents.
* However, whatever I've tried, a user who leaves and goes back into a course can only navigate back to the first slide, not to any of the other slides he or she already viewed. I'd like for our users to be able to go back to any previous slide they viewed (for example, to review the section just before the one where they left off, or to review any part of the course for reference after completing it).
Is there a combination of settings, or a widget somewhere, that will let you both limit forward navigation to visited slides only, while still allowing users to go back to any previously viewed slide after exiting and re-entering a course? And this would need to work in an LMS.

I did have the self-paced learning option checked, so I unchecked it. I did not have "user must past quiz" as required (it's set as optional). I tried adding an interactive button to the first slide and giving it a score. But after re-publishing, I still can only go back to the first slide (not any previously viewed slide) if I stop and re-enter the course. Here are the settings:
