Content Server Supported Platforms

Hello,
Is content server supported on Either MaxDB 7.5 or SAPDB 7.3 and Suse SLES 9 or 10 on zSeries 64bit?
I've looked in service.sap.com/pam, but I'm still confused. When I download the pam sheet from /pam, I can see
different results !!!.
From pam sheet, SAP Content server 6.4 is supported
on Either MaxDB 7.5 or SAPDB 7.3 and Suse SLES 9 on
zSeries 64bit ! But I could not find this combination
when I go with service.sap.com/pam => SAP Technology
Components =>SAP CONTENT SERVER !
Which one is correct ?
Appreciate any help in this regards ...
Rgds,
Sheikh Saggaf

Hi there,
if I go to service.sap.com -> SAP Technology Components -> SAP CONTENT SERVER -> SAP CONTENT SERVER 6.40, I then have the following available for MaxDB:
  LINUX SUSE SLES9/ZSERIES...
Which points to:
  MAXDB 7.5 64-BIT  LINUX SUSE SLES9/ZSERIES 64BIT  21.03.2007  Released   21.03.2007  Released
I indeed don't see a version of SAP DB (7.3) there for those exact platform/cpu specs.

Roland

  • WebDAV Access: SAP Content Server

    Hello everyone,
    I would like to use SAP Content Server to store the courses created in LSO Authoring Environment. (Client wants it this way...i have no clue why). Now in order to use SAP Content Server here, the content server must support WebDAV access. So does the content server support WebDAV, if yes -- how to enable it and how to browse it.
    Thanks,
    GLM

    If the documents are stored in DMS with Content Server as the repository, you should be able to access them using the DMS connector to KM.  This is a business package which, when installed, exposes document stored in DMS to KM as a KM repository.  Then you can browse it like any other KM repository.  There are a lot of posts in this forum and others about the DMS connector.
    You can also try to enable WebDAV if you Content Server is using a MaxDB database.

    If you have WebDAV Interface to your content management system you can integrate the Learning Portal into your existing intranet, which means SAP Enterprise Learning can run without SAP Netweaver Portal.
    WebDAV interfaces link the content management component with learning management software and the authoring environment.

  • What is the latest prod. supported MaxDB Version w. SAP Content Server 6.40

    What is the most actual supportet MaxDB Version when using with SAP Contentserver 6.40?
    In PAM Page 5 (of the Powerpoint) the official Version should be 7.5.
    In "install and Upgrade" NW 7.0 there is the "NW 7.0 Presentation - MaxDB Release 7.6.03"  available for Download and the "MaxDB RDBMS 7.7.06 Build 10 - Windows Server on x64 64bit "
    Does that mean, that the 7.7 Version is official supported for Production?
    Searched the Notest but found no answer for that.
    Ulrich
    ... half an hour later ...
    just found MAXDB 7.7 Installation which suggest the 7.7 is the latest official supported.
    could that be the answer?

  • Help needed in building a demo mobile app for DRM support using Content server 4

    Hi all,
    I am building an application for the blackberry to support reading of pdf and ebuf content similar to Adobe Digital Editions with DRM support . I came to know about the Adobe RMSDK .
    Following is my understanding regarding my implementation , please correct me if i am wrong:
    The DRM implementation on a mobile device for Adobe should satisfy the following criteria:
    1. The mobile device should have a application which uses the Adobe RMSDK.
    2. The publisher or the server app should install and run the content server 4
    3. An acsm file which contains the rights data should be saved stored at the adobe server and should be downloaded by the mobile client.
    4. The urls in the acsm xml file will be used to fetch the content for the ebook.
    I have the following querries:
    1. Is there an implementation of the RMSDK for java to run on blackberry.
    2. Is Adobe content server 4 free to install, if not do we have a test server for this purpose.
    Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi Jim,
    Thanks for your kind reply. I have some more querries
    Suppose if we have a client implementation of the Adove RMSDK in java,  please help answer these querries:
    1. How do we connect to the cs4 server (what will be the flow of data, is there a documentaion regarding the protocol to be used between the mobile client and the cs4 server in order to communicate and fetch Rights protected ebuf and pdf data.
    2. The link http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/library does not give me information of how to use this library to store by ebook data and fetch  drm data from the mobile client and the protocol/communication followed.
    3. How do i go forward in evaluating acs4( getting a test version of cs4 and using it ). We want to build a demo app in blackberry.
    thanks

  • Multilingual support in the content server

    does ECM support multilingual content?
    I can't find a component and i haven't found any reference to it in its documentation.
    Do i have to create a "language" field myself or is there an option?
    What about the workflow? For example, i have a website in 4 languages. Is it possible to configure a workflow where the content can only be published when all 4 languages are accept?
    I really can't find option for multilingual content in the server.
    Anybody know more about this?

    hey Passero,
    Content server do support multiple lingual content(i mean it can render and store). There is no language filed as of now, so you will need to create it for your own. You will need to customized workflow, you will need to maintain a relation between all the languages (some kind of pointer) so that you know wat different contents are the translations in different languages and know whether they are approved or not.
    At the time of approving one you will als need to know the state of others. If you can pin-point your requirement i may be a little more help.
    I hope i must have answered few of your queries.
    regards,
    sapan

    Hi all,
    Can anyone tell me if SAP Content Server 6.40 on NW 2004s with MaxDB 7.6 will run on Windows 2003 64 or 32 bit? I have installed in on a x64 bit 2003 server now, but there seems to be some issues. For starters, I get the following error message when I try to run "http://<hostname>:<portno.>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo" as part of the post-processing when installing SAP Content Server 6.40:
    %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Searching multiple Content Server Portlets

    I am able to search single Content Server Portlet and get results using following lines of code.
    IPTSession ptSession = new InProcSession();
    ptSession.Connect(AppSettings.PTUserName(), AppSettings.PTPassword(), null);
    IPTSearchRequest ptSearchRequest = ptSession.GetSearchRequest();
    ptSearchRequest.SetSettings(PT_SEARCH_SETTING.PT_SEARCHSETTING_APPS, PT_SEARCH_APPS.PT_SEARCH_APPS_CONTENT);
    ptSearchRequest.SetSettings(PT_SEARCH_SETTING.PT_SEARCHSETTING_ASSOC_PORTLET_ID, 10468);
    IPTSearchQuery ptSearchQuery = ptSearchRequest.CreateBasicQuery(query, null);
    IPTSearchResponse ptSearchResponse = ptSearchRequest.Search(ptSearchQuery);
    return ptSearchResponse;
    However Type Cast exception comes at run time when we pass array containing multiple Portlets ID although code gets compiled
    IPTSession ptSession = new InProcSession();
    ptSession.Connect(AppSettings.PTUserName(), AppSettings.PTPassword(), null);
    IPTSearchRequest ptSearchRequest = ptSession.GetSearchRequest();
    ptSearchRequest.SetSettings(PT_SEARCH_SETTING.PT_SEARCHSETTING_APPS, PT_SEARCH_APPS.PT_SEARCH_APPS_CONTENT);
    int[][] ar = new int[2][];
    int[] int1 = new int[]{ 0, 10468 };
    int[] int2 =new int[]{ 0, 23757 };
    ar[0] = int1;
    ar[1] = int2;
    ptSearchRequest.SetSettings(PT_SEARCH_SETTING.PT_SEARCHSETTING_ASSOC_PORTLET_ID, ar);
    IPTSearchQuery ptSearchQuery = ptSearchRequest.CreateBasicQuery(query, null);
    IPTSearchResponse ptSearchResponse = ptSearchRequest.Search(ptSearchQuery);
    return ptSearchResponse;
    It will be quite useful if anyone of you can help us if Plumtree API support this. Or else we need to build another layer to search each Portlet and merge results.

    Content Server 6.1

    Hi Praveen,
    I have not done portal configuration for SAP DMS. But as per the link below, you can assign multiple SAP DMS repository managers which can refer to separate content servers.

  • SAP Content Server 6.40 on 64 bit Windows

    Hello,
    As per PAM SAP Content Server 6.40 is supported on Windows but only on "WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA32 32BIT" version.
    So does it imply that content server is not supported on 64 bit Windows platform??
    I also want to know about Windows Server 2008. Although it is not mentioned in PAM, is it supported for content server? Additionally I've checked SAP Note "1054740 - SAP System Installation on Windows Server 2008.txt" again which did not give any fair idea about Windows 2008 platform support.
    Please throw some light on 64 bit windows support as well as for Windows 2008 platform support for content server (which implicitly has MAXDB as database).
