Content Server - Which SQL statements are running?
Hi sap lovers! Does anyone aware of which sql statements being run on the maxDB part when, e.g saving a document (or retrieving a document) (on the ABAP part) within our DMS landscape?
And at the whole, Is It possible to monitor sqls running on MAXDB, like we can see in ST04
-> Oracle Session
Regards,
Vladimir
You can find that out doing the following:
- on any ABAP system start DB59
- enter the data to connec to the content server database
- doubleclick on the made entry so you get in "DB50 for remote databases"
- switch on the command monitor
- then use the task manager and press on "running commands"

BPC 7 MS: Which SQL statements are created for writing with input schedule?
Hi,
I wanted to know which SQL statements are created and executed if a user submits values using an Excel input schedule to an application.
When I check the correspoinding MS SQL server log files, I see that data is read from the three partitions belonging to the application and put into a temporary table, but I can't find anything about writing back to the application (presumably the WB partiton...) in the log.
There are some cryptic entries in the log file as well, but they are not human-readale... are there any BPC logfiles that could tell me which SQL statements are created and executed to write back the new values to the application? Thanks!Hi,
As far as i know, when a user send data entry from an excel schedule, it will be written in the WB table of the application (for each application, you have 3 Data tables : WB, Fact2 and Fact).
I presume that the SQL statement may be an INSERT or UPDATE statement.
Technically, the update is done by the send governor service (hosted on your BPC application server).
There is no log that will show you the SQL Statement besides a SQL trace that you have to setup in SQL Server 2005 Manager Studio.
btw, the data are written in the Relationnal database but are read from the OLAP cube. The olap Cube is split in 3 partitions (ROLAP on WB table / and MOLAP on fact and fat2). Wich mean that every new entry in WB will be automatically "updated" in the cube.
Some DM packages can directly write data in fact2 table. In this case you need to reprocess the cube to get it loaded. -

Which SQL statement is he running?
I have some oracle processes which are consuming a big fraction of the CPU resources and the load is so big that no users can connect (except with connect / as sysdba). Knowing their PID (from the UNIX top command), and connecting internally on Oracle, is there a way to know which statements are currently being performed by these users?
NB: Database in question is Oracle 10g.Just because users cannot connect does not mean the problem is a "load" problem.
What does v$session_wait show that connected sessions are waiting on? Are any sessions lock waited?
If there are lockwaited sessions are any of the Oracle rdbms background sessions involved in the lock problem?
In situations where people cannot connect or take five minutes to do so the problem usually comes down to improper configuration of the database, poor design of the most heavily hit section of an application, or your are especially lucky and have managed to hit a bug.
In the absence of a locking problem or every session waiting on the same resouce then a statspack for a short duration is worth a shot (providing it will run).

Hi All,
Please help. I am having a Prodution SQL 2008 RTM Cluster with two nodes-where node 1 works without any problem.However, if i failover to node 2-Agent xp's are disabled automatically. When i verify the SQL Services are node 2 are running fine.
Checked Agent.out file which did not give much info than below:
2012-09-09 08:00:12 - + [162] Internal request (from SetJobNextRunDate [reason: schedule will not run again]) to deactivate schedule 47
2012-09-15 06:50:30 - ? [131] SQLSERVERAGENT service stopping due to a stop request from a user, process, or the OS...
2012-09-15 06:50:41 - ? [098] SQLServerAgent terminated (normally)
I have verified that hardware and software of both nodes are identical. Still ,this issue persists always.
Please let me know the solution for this. it really pressurise on Production having one node active and other not active.
Harithasrisp_configure 'show advanced options', 1;

Are the SQL Agent running under the same accounts?

Error when generating the SQL statement while running the Query
Hello SDN Mates,
Am using three cubes in one infoset and build a query on that. Intially it was running fine, but now am getting error generating the SQL statement. Can you please throw some light on this. Your idea would be highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards
Arun SHi Arun
is there any change in the objects (Check also the consistency of infoobject ) included in infoset, just make sure those are active, open the query in designer and check if no error/warning message are present

Latency is very high when SELECT statements are running for LONG
We are a simple DOWN STREAM streams replication environment ( Archive log is shipped from source , CAPTURE & APPLY are running on destination DB).
Whenever there is a long running SELECT statement on TARGET the latency become very high.
SGA_MAX_SIZE = 8GB
STREAMS_POOL_SIZE=2GB
APPLY parallelism = 4
How can resolve this issue?Is the log file shipped but not acknowledge? -- NO
Is the log file not shipped? -- It is shipped
Is the log file acknowledged by not applied? -- Yes...But Apply process was not stopped. it may be slow or waiting for something?
It is 10g Environment. I will run AWR.. But what should i look for in AWR? -

Can we use Selection Criteria Screen to tell Query which SQL script to run?
Dear All,
When I run this code, it gives me the screen below:
declare @ScanOp4 nvarchar (30)
set @ScanOp4=
/*select T3.U_ScanOp4 from [dbo].[@SCANNING] T3 where T3.U_ScanOp4*/ '[%0]'
I have used Tools -> Customization to define a UDT and UDF
Query - Selection Criteria
Invoice / Credit Note? [----------------- ]
(there's a drop-down arrow with 2 choices:
Inv = Invoice
CN = Credit Note
[OK] [Cancel]
Now, I have 2 very similar queries; the only difference is that they use different tables because one is for
Purchases (OPCH/PCH1), and the other is for Credit Memos (ORPC/RPC1)
I want to put the above declaration together with my 2 queries all in a single query so that:
(a) If I select 'Invoice', the Invoice part is executed and only invoices are displayed,
(b) If I select 'Credit Note', the Credit Note part is executed and only Credit Notes are displayed.
Do you think such a Query is possible? If yes, please give me an idea how I can achieve it.
I don't want to use UNION ALL because one of my fields is a LINK field to which I have linked all PDF Scanned documents.
I want to preserve the links, since this is the reason I'm writing the query.
Thanks
Leon Lai
Here are my skeleton codes
1st Query: User selects 'Invoice' -
SELECT
T0.[TaxDate] AS 'Doc Dt',
T5.[TransType] AS 'Txn Type',
T0.[DocNum] AS 'Doc No.',
T0.[DocTotal] AS 'Amount'
FROM [dbo].[OPCH] T0
INNER JOIN [dbo].[PCH1] T1 ON T0.[DocEntry] = T1.[DocEntry]
INNER JOIN [dbo].[OJDT] T5 ON T0.[TransID] = T5.[TransID]
2nd Query: User selects 'Credit Note' -
SELECT
T0.[TaxDate] AS 'Doc Dt',
T5.[TransType] AS 'Txn Type',
T0.[DocNum] AS 'Doc No.',
T0.[DocTotal] AS 'Amount'
FROM [dbo].[ORPC] T0
INNER JOIN [dbo].[RPC1] T1 ON T0.[DocEntry] = T1.[DocEntry]
INNER JOIN [dbo].[OJDT] T5 ON T0.[TransID] = T5.[TransID]Try this:
declare @ScanOp4 nvarchar (30)
set @ScanOp4=
/*select T3.U_ScanOp4 from [dbo].[@SCANNING] T3 where T3.U_ScanOp4*/ '[%0]'
If @ScanOp4='Inv'

SQl query are running slow in comparison to oracle 8i
Hi everybody,
I have two systems one is Oracle 9i on Windows 2000 and
one is Oracle 8i running on Windows 2000. The database structure is the same. When I run the following qry in
Oracle 9i
SELECT COUNT (a.aint_ac_no) AS total_ac_no, adet_int_rate,
SUM (fun_max_cbal_bal (a.aint_ac_no,
a.aint_subsys_cd,
TO_DATE ('30/01/2009', 'DD/MM/YYYY')
) AS balance
FROM domst120 a, domst730 b
WHERE a.aint_interest_slab_cd = b.adet_srno
AND a.aint_subsys_cd = '137'
AND fun_max_cbal_bal (a.aint_ac_no,
a.aint_subsys_cd,
TO_DATE ('30/01/2009', 'DD/MM/YYYY')
) <> 0
AND a.aint_eff_date =
(SELECT MAX (c.aint_eff_date)
FROM domst120 c
WHERE a.aint_bank_cd = c.aint_bank_cd
AND a.aint_branch_cd = c.aint_branch_cd
AND a.aint_bank_cd = '857'
AND a.aint_branch_cd = '6'
AND a.aint_subsys_cd = c.aint_subsys_cd
AND a.aint_ac_no = c.aint_ac_no)
GROUP BY b.adet_int_rate
ORDER BY b.adet_int_rate
it takes 6 min to complete.
the same qry running in Oracle 8i takes 2 seconds
to complete.
The index structure is same in both systems also the tables
were analyzed with compute statistics.What do you expect?! Oracle 9i and Oracle 8i are different particularly by optimizer cost-based(9i) and rule-based(8i) :)
what about both execution plans? -
Setting a sql statement to run at a later time
Hello,
Is there a way to submit a sql but let it run at a later time? Maybe a sleep function? Thank you.Hi Jafar,
We can also opt for the following utility :----
The DBMS_LOCK.sleep procedure in oracle is used to pause a program for the specified number of seconds. The time can be specified down to hundredths of a second:
BEGIN
DBMS_LOCK.sleep(seconds => 5.01);
END;
Cheers :) -

Sorry,
I did not come across this for a while
Well it was not such an obvious search as for your message, but just from my memory of
installing on MSCS and that there was something special to the brtools. So that knowlegde
in behind, my search was "MSCS brtools" -> two hits -> one bingo

Drag and dropping files in spaces
