Content Type in JMS Receiver

Hi,
I have a File ---> SAP PI ---> JMS (SonicMQ) scenario. I have done the settings and the message is passed successfully to the SonicMQ broker.
However the end system is complaning that the received message is a text file and not a xml file.
How should I ensure that the message transferred by PI is in XML format?
Thanks,
Pankaj.

Hi Raj,
Same was my understanding :(.
Other than the default adapter modules (in receiver JMS channel) I have not used anything else.
Also I see a proper XML file (which can be closed and opened as we do in IE) getting generated in SXMB_MONI and also in Communication Channel monitoring.
However still the end system is complaining that the message is seen in text
Example:
<Message><Name>Pankaj</Name><Id>123456</Id></Message>
Instead of:
<Message>
<Name>Pankaj</Name>
<Id>123456</Id>
</Message>
Thanks,
Pankaj.

  • Content type in SOAP receiver communication channel

    Hello,
    so far I thought that the SOAP receiver adapter always sets the content type to text/xml. However now I found out the following strange thing:
    If you check the option "without SOAP envelope" then the content type is application/xml. Is there any way to influence this as the receiver of the message only accepts text/xml.
    Have you had any similar experience?

    hi,
    - open SOAP receiver communication channel - module tab
    - add the module "localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean" or AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean"  before the standard SOAP module
    - add the parameter = Transform.ContentType with value = text/xml
    I'm just not sure if you need to add value =  text/xml or "text/xml" so try the second one if the first one will not work
    does it work now?

  • Invalid Content Type Error in Receiver SOAP Adapter

    Hello Experts,
    Is there a solution for this problem?
    I am getting the following error in one of my receiver SOAP adapters:
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: XIAdapterFramework:...:com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML
    I have checked the message I am sending to the receiver adapter and it is XML, ok. After checking this thread: Re: Error in soap receiver adapter and SAP note 856597 I used the TCPGateway program to check what the web service is answering to the adapter request and I found the problem is due to an authentication failure. The TEXT/HTML is an error page the SAP WebAS that hosts the webservice is sending out as response saying no login method succeeded.
    However...  The webservice URL and basic authentication information, the user and password, are configured correctly. I double checked it and I can also run the webservice using that information directly with wsnavigator on that WebAS.
    Checking the request message I found out that the root problem is that the adapter is not sending out a basic authentication request as configured. It is actually sending a header with SAP SSO2 (single signon) ticket instead.
    The most strange thing is that I configured another channel exactly the same way and it sends a basic authentication header as it should and works correctly.
    So as a workaround I am using this new channel instead of the problematic one but why is the original sending SSO2 tickets? It is configured exactly the same as other channels. I think that SAP SSO authentication is not even supported by XI SOAP channels!!!???
    Thanks in advance for your kind responses.
    -Sam.

    Shabarish:
    Thanks for the link, but the real issue is not the request message (regarding your blog) but that the reply from the webservice is the standard HTML page informing no login module succeeded because the adapter is deciding completely on its own that it should use SAP single signon ticket instead of basic authentication as configured.
    Volker:
    I have performed full and delta cache refreshes to see if the channel performs as configured in the ID but it doesn't. It insists in trying to use SSO2 ticket instead of basic authentication.
    I am sure this is an ugly bug in the WEBAS Java, more so because an identically configured channel does use the basic authentication as it should. Anyone knows about a SAP note regarding this? I have performed many searches on the support service but haven't retrieved anything significant.
    Thanks for your help guys!
    -Sam.

    - Checked the box for 'Specify Additional JMS Message Properties'
    - Defined  property in the table and set the Java type

  • Viewing the flat file in JMS Receiver???

    How can i see the Flat file generated  after content conversion by JMS Receiver channel in a in a  ECC->PI->JMS scenario.
    I have a JMS Receiver channel connecting to WMS system , how can i see the flat file produced just after the JMS adapter's content conversion. its like
    ECC ---> PI----->JMS----> (intermediate client MQ file cannot be viwed here it forwards the file to WMS MQ)------>(MQ)WMS
    i need to see the flat file produced just after the JMS channel content conversion..is there some logging option there should be. Please help

    Hello,
    I don't think there is any standard way to achieve ur req.
    But what u can do is, write a custom AM module to either write a file on PI file system (for ur monitoring) or display the text file in ur audit logs.
    Send File to Two Different Locations using Adapter Module

  • Change of Content-Type with Module MessageTransformBean

    Hello,
    I am looking at an efficient way of changing the content-type of a received message (e.g. from application/xml to text/xml) by using the module MessageTransformBean.
    I know it would be possible with Java Mapping, but if possible I want to avoid that and use a standard module.
    I was thinking of using the parameter Transform.ContentType, however the problem is that the parameter xml.conversionType
    has to be set too. I do not want to change the message format from flat to XML but just want to change the content type.
    Is there any way to achieve with this standard module (maybe by using a dummy value for the xml.conversionType parameter)?
    Thank you for your input!

    Hi,
    If you are using the SOAP receiver adapter, you can change the content type by these configuration parameters:
    Module Configuration Parameter         HTTP Header Entry                   Example
    XMBWS.XMLEncoding                        Content-Type charset               iso-8859-1
    XMBWS.TransferEncoding                 Content-Transfer-Encoding      base64
    without the need for an additional module in the chain.
    Hope this helps.

  • Invalid Content Type Error for Web Service

    Hi Experts,
    We have a XI / PI Web Service, and have created an Adaptive Web Service Model for the same. For using this web service model, we have created a HTTP destination of type WSDL.
    This configuration works great in our development and consolidation server.
    While working with our production server, with all the settings same as consolidation server, the following error is generated for Web Service call. using the AWS model
    java.io.IOException: Invalid content type while requesting http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/resources/<application_package>/guicall.wsdl. Expected Content-type: text/xml, received Content-type: content/unknown, used user to connect: null
    The HTTP destination address is the one specified in bold above.
    Also, in later part of the stack trace we are bale to see this error:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.exception.WSModelRuntimeException: Exception on creation of service metadata for WS metadata destination
    Please guide us on this issue.
    Best Regards,
    Alka.

    Hi Alka,
    How did you configure the Webservice Destinations in Visual Admin for a webservice explosed by XI system.
    I mean what was the URL specified, did you specify XI SYSTEM userid password ???
    How was the webservice published to inspection.wsil in XI system ??

  • Receiver AS2 Advantco Adapter Content type change

    Hi All,
    I am working on SFTP to As2(Advantco) scenario. We are sending the txt files to target.
    As of now file is sent with content type application/xml. But target system is asking to change it to "application/octet-stream"
    In the AS2 adapter guide, there is section 3.4.4.8. MIME Settings which talks about content type change.
    Unfortunately i am not seeing that in the receiver channel.
    does anyone know how to change the content type for AS2 channel?
    Will standard adapter module work on third party adapter? like messageTransformBean
    Thanks.

    This could be because of adapter metadata is not updated one?
    >>> Yes. It's very much possible.
    Will standard adapter module work on third party adapter? like messageTransformBean
    >>> AFAIK - Advantco adapters does support MTB.

  • Urgent!!! How to convert received mail 'content type?

    How to convert received mails 'content type from text/plain to multipart/*?

    you cannot change the content type of a Message object which has been received. What you can do is create an instance of a MimeMessage class and set the content type as multipart and then add the received message as a bodypart to that message.
    You can look at the javamail example codes as to how to create a new MimeMessage with multipart content.

  • How to change content-type (text/xml;charset=utf-8)  in SOAP receiver?

    Hi,
    How can I change the content-type (text/xml;charset=utf-8) sent by the SOAP adapter to an external webservice?
    I need to sent text/xml  as content-type to the webservice, otherwise I get an error.
    I have tried with different adapter modules but so far no positive results.
    Thanks.
    Edited by: Roberto Viana on Mar 26, 2009 2:02 PM

    Hi Stefan, many thanks for your answer.
    According to your answer it is not possible to manipulate/change the way PI fills the content-Type.
    I was hoping to solve the issue with a custom built adapter module that sets the HTTP header content-type to text/xml without the charset entry, but I understand that's not the case.

  • Adapter-specific message attributes for the JMS Receiver adapter

    Dear SAP Community,
    We are trying to activate some parameters at message level when SAP XI sent an interface (XML data) to IBM Websphere MQ. Programmaticaly, this is done the following way:
           TextMessage outMessage = session.createTextMessage();
           MQQueue replyToQ = new MQQueue("TESTQM01","SYSTEM.ADMIN.ACTIVITY.QUEUE");
           Destination replyTo = (Destination) replyToQ;
           outMessage.setJMSReplyTo(replyTo);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_Exception", MQC.MQRO_EXCEPTION);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_Expiration", MQC.MQRO_EXPIRATION);;
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_COA", MQC.MQRO_COA);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_COD", MQC.MQRO_COD);
           outMessage.setIntProperty("JMS_IBM_Report_Discard_Msg", MQC.MQRO_DISCARD_MSG);
    This code is working fine.
    Since the documentation about this feature (Adapter-specific message attributes) is very light, We am not sure about the interpretation we made.
    First, we defined the following attributes: MS_IBM_Report_Exception, JMS_IBM_Report_Expiration, JMS_IBM_Report_COA, JMS_IBM_Report_COD, JMS_IBM_Report_Discard_Msg. All of them are with type int.
    Then we changed the mapping (XSL) to pass the value to the dynamic configuration, using the technical names (DCJMSMessageProperty0, ..., DCJMSMessageProperty4) and the value of the constants. We also specified a value in the Reply To Queue parameter of the adapter. As a test, We also change another parameter via the mapping (the correlation ID, to use the idoc number) and according to the log of the processed message, every thing is finde. According to the trace of the JMS adapter, everything is fine to. However, this has no impact on the message, only the correlation ID is changed.
    The JMS server is IBM Websphere MQ (v6.0.2.1). It is already in production and working fine. This is a change we have been asked to implement.
    Has anyone experience with the JMS receiver adapter-specific message attrbitutes ? What have we done wrong ?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Sync/Async communication with JMS Receiver

    Hi all,
    I am working on one Sync/Async model without BPM. Sender is  RFC which is expecting some response, but we know receiver jms doesnt support response message directly. For this i used modules provided by SAP.
    While developing interface i used below objects.
    One Outbound Synchronous interface--> for Sender RFC channel
    Inbound Synchronous Interface----->for Receiver JMS Channel
    outbound asynchronous interface--->for Sender JMS channel
    one request mapping and one response mapping
    Operational mapping between outbound Synchronous to inbound synchronous.
    ID Objects:
    2 sender agreements: one with sender jms channel
                                         one with sender rfc channel
    1 receiver agreement: with jms receiver channel
    1 receiver determination
    1 interface determination
    In receiver jms and sender jms channels i used modules as specified in the document http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/45/20d2b4c20a0732e10000000a155369/content.htm
    But my interface is not working end to end successfully.
    Please confirm below points
    1)do i need to have other external application put response message to response queue or will the MQ automatically generates the response message and put into response queue
    2)In receiver jms channel is it ok if i will put response queue(Q2) name in the field JMS ReplyTo Queue Name or do i need to put in the form queue://<ReplyToQMgr>/<ReplyToQ>
    3). what is the format of data type for asynchronous outbound interface which i used for sender agreement of jms sender channel.
    4). Do i need to do any other special settings at MQ settings in MQ server.
    Note: i am using PI7.1 and i selected the option JMS-compliant for target client in jms channels.
    Thanks,

    1)do i need to have other external application put response message to response queue or will the MQ automatically generates the response message and put into response queue
    The following information is available in SAP note-
    Message correlation implies correlating a response message with a request message. With respect to the JMS adapter, this means that you sent have sent a message through a JMS receiver channel to some JMS queue (say queueA) , some external application processes this message and puts the response onto another JMS queue(say queueB) which is then picked up by a JMS sender channel. You need to relate this response message with the original request message.
    In the simple case, for all JMS compliant providers this can be done in a straightforward manner:
    a) In the JMS receiver channel configuration, set the JMSCorrelationID to the XIMessageID. (or some other XI header which is applicable)
    b) Ensure that your external application does not change the value of the JMSCorrelation
    c) In the JMS sender channel configuration, set the XIConversationID to the JMSCorrelationID
    d) The XIConversationID header of the response XI message now contains the XIMessageID of the request XI message.
    For some providers such as Websphere MQ in legacy/native mode this is not so straightforward.
    Do i need to do any other special settings at MQ settings in MQ server.
    If your using Websphere MQ, refer que#4 in sap note :1086303
