Context.xml seems to be not read

Hello guys,
I've a strange issue. My application use a connection pool through JNDI.
Issue is that on production server (linux debian) my application can't connect to db!
In catalina log I see
org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES))the issue is that in context.xml of my application (I use local context) user and password are different (i don't pass root user, but a specific user for db!).
Is it possible tomcat is not able to read context.xml and so try to go with root user? Please help me, my application doesn't see db..
this is my web.xml

  • ITunes library file ("iTunes Music Library.xml") being trashed and not read

My iTunes music library is being recognized as a .xml file and comes up looking like a Dreamweaver file. It no longer can be loaded in iTunes (grayed out) when loading the app. Can't find the Library.
So iTunes no longer recognizes it, nor does it see the backup on a different drive! I have no idea how it got recategorized. I also check in my Time Machine backup and all the similarly named files show up as the same way (with a Dreamweaver icon). This did occur after a restart of this machine. I see the same problem with a backup of the library on the same machine.
I have not yet opened a new library and tried to import all my music over again. Is that the only viable fix? I remember this problem (or a similar one, I think) happening a year or so back. I didn't know what it was at the time but it caused me a considerable amount of grief with subscribed music not getting reloaded, etc. Is this what I'm in for again???
How can I fix this? Here's what I did so far:
    1. Rebuilt Permissions. Here's the log.
    +Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”+
    +Permissions differ on "usr/share/derby", should be drwxr-xr-x , they are lrwxr-xr-x .+
    +Repaired "usr/share/derby".+
    2. Checked time machine to see if the folders' icons are the same. They are.
    3. Tried to open up iTunes library manually (option+open iTunes). Grayed out.
    4. Older backed up libraries show the same icon. Only version 3 or version 4 labelled libraries do not. Version of iTunes is 9.0.2

iTunes does not use the .xml file. It is created only for other applications to use the iTunes library.
    Try this...
    Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select *Choose library* and select the iTunes library file in \Music\iTunes\ folder.
That's what I've said, Chris. The files that open when selecting the Choose Library are:
Yes they all exist. Also the following files exist:
    *iTunes 3 Music Library*
    *iTunes 4 Music Library*
    *iTunes Music Library (2)*
Is there a pref I can delete somewhere to get rid of these? Copying the files from TIme Machine doesn't fix this.

  • Some columns not read from db on EntityManager.find

We are working with glassfish 2.1 and toplink-essentials 2.0.1-b09d-fcs. Our db vendor is Mysql.
Sometimes when we call em.find we get a not fully read object. It has a correctly set primerykey, version field but its properties seem to been not read from the database. They are nulls. Sometimes em.refresh is a good solution, sometimes even this is not enough and restart of glassfish only helps.
I appreciate any help... This is causing many problems as we are in production alreadt...
We cannot use a newer version of toplink-essentials because we get some problems with merging our objects then and have no resources to investigate the problem for a while.

    Hello,
Strange problem, especially if em.refresh still won't allow you to get the data from the database - is your application using any custom options? If objects are not fully populated when they are read, it means that the cache is becoming corrupted somehow. This is common when the application does not maintain both sides of bidirectional relationships, and can also occur when an application uses stub objects for existing objects instead of reading them in. My first suggestion is to try to reproduce this in a test environment, and then isolate a particular scenario the issue occurs under - following a particular incomplete object to see how it got created and stored in the cache. Explaining the issue you have upgrading might also help determine what might be going on in the application that could cause your current issue (assuming the problems might be related, which is likely, since merge issues generally can cause cache corruptions)
In the mean time, you might try to turn off the shared cache and use an isolated cache in production to see if this helps reduce the problem.
http://weblogs.java.net/blog/guruwons/archive/2006/09/understanding_t.html describes caching in TopLink Essentials and how to turn off the shared cache in this case.

Team , Thanks for looking into this  ..
As a last resort on  optimizing my stored procedure ( Below ) i wanted to create a Selective XML index  ( Normal XML indexes doesn't seem to be improving performance as needed ) but i keep getting this error within my stored proc . Selective XML

  • Workshop 10.1 not deploying custom context.xml

I have a web project that was converted from Workshop 3.3. The project has a context.xml file in WebContent/META-INF that contains a datasource.
This setup was working fine with Workshop 3.3, however for some reason Workshop 10.1 is not merging the file into server.xml (Looked at $WORKSPACE\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.wst.server.core\tmp0\conf\server.xml)
The old workspace from 3.3 shows the information merged into the file.
No modifications to the project other than converting to 10.1 have been made. I've tried marking the context.xml as read-only as well and that did not help.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

I just tried the following steps and it is working for me.
    - Create a new struts project
    - create a new devloader_context.xml under WebContent/META-INF/
    contents:
    <Context docBase="test" path="/test" reloadable="true" source="org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.server:test">
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource"
    maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" maxWait="10000"
    username="javauser" password="javadude" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
    url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/javatest?autoReconnect=true"/>
    </Context>
    - Save & mark the file readonly
    - create a new Tomcat 5.5.x (5.5.23) configuration
    - add the project to tomcat and start the server
    - The contents of devloader_context.xml were merged into server.xml file
    verified @ workspaces\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.wst.server.core\tmp0\conf

  • HTTPService not reading updated xml, i've been having to refresh the xml in my browser manually

I am calling an HTTPService (id=data2php) which runs a php
script which creates an xml doc and puts it on my server. i then
call another HTTPService (id=feedRequest) which reads the xml doc.
i then try to populate a datagrid with the lastResult of my
HTTPService that reads the xml doc. My issue is that that the
HTTPService which reads the xml doc reads the previous incarnation
of the xml doc, not the newly created one that my HTTPService
(data2php) created. i've been manually going to the xml doc in my
browser and hitting refresh for my feedRequest HTTPService to read
    the updated xml.
here is the mxml for the httpservice that reads the xml:
    <mx:HTTPService id="feedRequest" url="
    http://cfcdi.org/eric/dashboard/php/sales.xml"
    result="feedResult(event)" resultFormat="xml" useProxy="false"/>
    pretty straight forward.
(actually, once in a while it will read the updated
    one)

    LittleMuscle,
Instead of binding to the lastResult property, I would
explicitly handle the result and fault events of the HTTPService
(the one that reads the newly created xml doc) and then manually
update an XMLListCollection for use as the datagrid's dp. That way,
you can at least walk through the debugger and see what's going on,
and force the second HTTPService to read only when you're sure the
    newly created doc is ready.
Since you said it works sometimes and not other times, it
sounds like it's just a timing problem, sometimes the xml doc is
created quickly enough that the HTTPService grabs the new xml doc,
but if not, it's grabbing the old one. That would be my
    guess.

  • Reading a XML file that does not have namespace

    Hi,
I have a customer who sends XML files that has no namespace (no first line which has xmlns tag).
It has a proper XSD, however I am unable to read this using File-Read as an XML file.
    Any suggestions ?
    (eg) file looks like below:
    <EdiAcknowledgementOut>
    <SchemaVersion>1.0</SchemaVersion>
    <FileType>PO</FileType>
    <CustCode>PII</CustCode>
    Thanks,

    Hi Naresh,
The "rejectedMessage" property is for 10G, I am not 100% sure about its implementation in 11G.
In 10G the faulted XML file moves to this location "Oracle_Home\bpel\domains\domain_name\jca\project_directory\rejectedMessages".
This property is used to move the files which are not valid XML or which are not schema compliant. For DB polling I don't think this property is used.

  • 9926 do not read AutoUnattend.xml on USB key

From Vista to Windows 10 9879 I used AutoUnattend.xml on USB key to deploy.
9926 do not read my AutoUnattend.xml who worked great with the previous versions.
I try to modify my AutoUnattend.xml but Windows System Image manager do not want to generate the catalog and give me the message: Windows SIM was unable to generate a catalog. For troubleshooting assistance, see the topic: 'Windows System Image Manager Technical
Reference' in Windows ADK User's Guide.
Clic here to open the log file:

Install this version to correct the problem

I do not know what to try to make a unattended install of 9926.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
Generally speaking, WinPE would generate a setupact.log which contains if the setup process look up AutoUnattend.xml file when installing system.
    Please check it.

Got this msh from Piasa...any ideas?  'Could not read the iPhoto Library. The library at [file path] has a corrupted AlbumData.xml file.'

Contact Adobe support - that is not an iPhoto message - in general Piasa has no ability to access the iPhoto library - there have been hacks but often they do not worka nd can cause problems
You need to user either Picasa or iPHoto - using both on the same photos is problematic

    If not:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

    Then:
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

You aren't allowed to use element names which begin with "xml".

  • In ColdFusion 10 Java integration, app-context.xml cannot be found in the classpath

I have jars and dependencies from a vendor Java library that I wanted to use in my new CF10 environment, however the Hibernate/Spring dependencies of the library conflict with those within CF10 itself.  To work around that, I had hoped to use javasettings in an Application.cfc to prioritize the library with the classloader, but the Spring classpath resolver seems to be unable to find a META-INF/spring/app-context.xml in the classpath even though it is within the jar.

  • META-INF/context.xml, Tomcat, META-INF/services

I presently have a Netbeans project laid out like this:
    src
    src\java
    web
    web\META-INF
    web\META-INF\context.xml
etc. Tomcat finds that META-INF/context.xml OK and does what I expect with it.
I have recently added something that is loaded by java.util.ServiceLoader, which requires a META-INF/services/x.y.z file containing the name(s) of the classes that implement x.y.z. After deployment, my webapp's ServiceLoader doesn't find it, because in the target it isn't in WEB-INF/classes/META-INF/services/x.y.z. If I put it into src/java/META-INF/services/x.y.z it works correctly, as it then ends up in the right place. However I'm now concerned that either Tomcat won't find the context.xml if I put it in the same place under src, because it would then not be in /META-INF/context.xml but rather /WEB-INF/classes/META-INF/context.xml, which in turn would mean that I would then need two META-INF directories. I'm about to test that conjecture about Tomcat finding it under WEB-INF/classes/META-INF, but I'm wondering whether I'm doing something basically wrong in the first place here.

You seem to think that you can have only one META-INF directory; this is simply not true. Keep both your META-INF directories and put the files where they are expected. Yay for using overlapping names :/
