Control Project

Hi guys!
I need some help regarding control projects in weblogic. I have a control deliverable project in one application and I want to use the same code in another one.So I packed that control project as jar file and then imported in another one.I am able to access all commonm java controls in that jar file but not the database controls.its throwing a null pointer exception when common java control calls database control methods in that jar file. Can you suggest anything in this scenario.any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi
Can I get any information about the composition of business team in a GRC access control project?
What type of people form this team?
Please provide some clarity on the role of business people in this type of projects.

    Hi,
Idealy the team should comprise of
1] A representative of the IT Governance team -he ensures that the IT delivers value to the business, the risks have been analysed and fully addressed to.
2] The Buiness process owners -these people only define the access restrictions for various activities like purchase, payment, etc.
3] Application specialist -in charge of SOD-he defines the roles and profiles for the access control.
4] If required a member from "Assurance" - these will be auditing the "access control " on a regular basis after the implementation.

  • Uploading capital planning/cost control/project delivery mgmt modules in Primavera Unifier 9.12

    Hello All,
I have successfully installed Primavera Unifier R9.12 on my system. I had searched a lot but I didnt find any document which tells you how to upload capital planning/cost control/project delivery management module in Primavera Unifier R9.12. Can anyone pls share the steps or document.
    Thanks
    AKHIL

    HI Akhil,
I'd love to help you in this area but i only know the product from a tech/install side of things.
My functional colleagues had the exact same gripe that you have regarding sample data - unfortunately with the way Unifier is designed in regards to it being both customizable and difficult to delete/change some objects it doesn't quite lend itself to having sample data the way P6 does.
    Good luck playing/learning the tool

  • SAP Access Control Project

    Dear All,
I am preparing a proposal for SAP GRC Access Control.
At the moment, I am having some trouble with the cleansing part.
I want to know if role cleansing is a part of the project? If it is, then how one can estimate the time to do this activity?
I thought it would depend on the number of roles, number of users and the rulet set.
I am told by some that cleansing in not actually a part of the project. Maybe the effort analysis for cleansing can be assessed after roles and user's analysis.
    Please help. Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I am new to SAP GRC AC, and would like to know about SAP GRC AC implementation proposal.
How do we prepare the proposal, scope for GRC AC, and procedure for effort estimation.
Do we have any standard guidelines or check list in preparing the same.
As you mentioned you are preparing proposal for GRC AC(By this time you could have prepared already) can you knidly share me the procedure you followed  for your project.
I would like to know it for SAP GRC AC 5.3.

  • How to upgrade RoboHelp HTML 9 version-controlled projects to RoboHelp HTML 10

    Existing Environment:
    PC 1: RoboSource Control Server
    Windows 7, 64-bit, SP1
    Adobe TCS 3.5
    RoboHelp HTML 9
    RoboSource Control 3.1 (Server install)
    Microsoft SQL Server 2005
    PC 2:  Client

    Adobe TCS 3.5
    RoboHelp HTML 9
    RoboSource Control 3.1 (Client install)
    PC 3:  Client
    Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit, SP1

    PC 5:  Client
    Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit, SP1
    Adobe TCS 3.5
    RoboHelp HTML 9
    RoboSource Control 3.1 (Client install)
We are upgrading from TCS 3.5 to TCS 4. In our existing TCS 3.5 environment, we have approximately 20 RoboHelp HTML 9 projects that are under version control. Our version control system is provided through RoboSource Control 3.1/Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
I have determined that RoboSource Control 3.1 is provided with TCS 4. Therefore, it doesn't appear that we need to worry about upgrading the version control databases or the RoboSource Control software (we had to upgrade both the version control software and the version control databases when we upgraded from RoboHelp x5 to TCS 3.5).
So, my primary question is this: After we run the TCS 4 install, what is the recommended process for opening our existing RoboHelp HTML 9 projects from the new RoboHelp HMTL 10? As I see it, there are three potential answers:
Delete all existing RoboHelp HTML 9 "working" folders for the projects, and use RoboHelp HTML 10 to recreate the "working" folders from the version control databases.
Simply open the existing RoboHelp HTML 9 "working" folders for the projects using RoboHelp HTML 10.
It doesn't matter; either of the two options above will work.

    Hi,
I'm not really familiar with RCS, but for other source control systems I recommend the following:
    1. Make sure that all your changes are checked in and that at least on pc has the latest version of all the files before updating TCS.
    2. Run the update.
    3. Now open the project on the pc that has the latest version of all files.
    4. After update, check in the entire project.
    5. Get the latest version on all pc's using the server. (Don't open the project in the client.)
         - Mostly, I just remove the entire project from the pc's and use a GET to get updated project from the server.
I hope the RCS supports a get all from the server, if not, please ignore the above list.

  • Transition from X5 to v7 source controlled project

We have a project running from RH X5 with it's native Source
    Control server powering it.
We have now installed some RH7 clients and the next stage is
to migrate to the new version of Source Control.. But when i looked
at setting this up I discovered that RH7 doesn't seem to have
actual Source Control functionality any more, it says we need to
install an SQL server to power it..
I was not aware of this, and it is now causing me problems,
after going through the long and tortuous process of getting
approval for the RH upgrade, I now have to present another case to
    get SQL server installed.
For info, I work for a major financial institute and we have
tight control on software. I know SQL server Express is free, the
cost is not the issue.. If I cannot get approval for this, what are
    the options?
Meanwhile I have found a lovely workaround, installing the
Source Control element from RH5 and this allows the RH7 client to
connect to the project which is running on the old Source Control!
So at least we can connect to the project, but we've had to install
part of X5 on top of v7 which i don't see as a logical solution.
I'm hoping there is a better way (or i can get approval for
SQL server), as I need to roll this out to various other
departments who want to migrate from X5 to v7...

I wish that I had the information to tell me when it was
necessary to go from SQL Express to SQL, but alas, I don't. I did
hear somewhere that SQL Express would only handle so many
users...and no, I don't know how many that is.
You might try setting up an RSC3 DB with SQL Express and
testing it out. In my experience, RSC3 is a lot more stable than
the older version. In particular, it doesn't seem to be so prone to
    freaking out over network disruptions.

  • Guidance for Kinect robot control project

I'm working on a bachelor project which involves the control of a virtual robot with the help of a Kinect v2. My purpose is to let the Kinect track the position of my hand and when I move it, the robot will follow in the same direction in x, y, z space.
I'm making slow progress and wanted to ask for some guidance and thoughts of how I can reach this goal. I've checked the documentations for the Kinect but as I'm still a little of a novice in programming I can't quite tell what information of code I could
use. Anything would be highly appreciated!
    Best regards!

Kinect will only provide you data with respect to a tracked users joint positions. How you interpret that into robotic movements, such as joystick directions or actual positional data would be left to you.

  • How do I reuse a custom java control in another project?

Relatively simple question, but I am having a lot of trouble with this. Documentation
alludes to this being possible and easy, but never says how (and the only tutorials
I can find describe creating a custom java control in the same project where they
    are used):
"You can design a custom control for use in one project, or you can design a custom
control for easy reuse in multiple projects." (from WLS docs on Java Controls)
"When the control project builds, all of the controls and associated files are
compiled into a single jar file and pushed onto the classpath of the containing
application for immediate use and testing by other projects in the application.
This jar is self-contained and can be moved to any other application by adding
it to the application’s Library folder. Appropriately marked controls in the Library
it will automatically appear on the user’s palette, ready for incorporation into
an application." (from dev2dev article on controls, P. Hussey)
I have a Workshop application which contains a few projects. One project is a
component project, another is a web project. I created a custom java control in
the control project and built it (JAR appeared in the Libraries folder). Now I
open up the page flow in my web app project, and try to drag the java control
onto my page flow - but I get an eror that the control must reside in the same
project! It does not automatically appear on my palate, so if I go over to the
palate on the right, and try to "add control" I only get a list containing the
BEA controls - no custom controls are listed.
What am I doing wrong? How can I incorporate my custom control into a web project?
I don't want to move the control in the web project, since this contradicts the
concept of a separate shared library. I should be able to build a library of controls
and reuse them in our web projects right?
    -Bob

Please disregard... I got it to work. For some reason I had to close Workshop,
restart it, then I reloaded the application, rebuilt the control project, and
now my control appears in the list of controls and can be easliy added to the
    palette.

  • Writer can't see projects in Robo Version Control - no error messages

    Background:
    Robo Version Control 3.1
RoboHelp 8 (same issue happened with 7)
    Issue:
We are having trouble with our source control, and I wasn't able to find an answer on this forum or on Google.
From time to time, when a writer opens RoboSource Control Explorer, they can't see any projects. They're not getting error messages, they seem to connect to the DB, but the left pane is simply empty (they don't see the root folder or anything else). We recently upgraded to RoboHelp 8, but this has happened on RoboHelp 7 too. Source control does work - for example, if they open their local version of a version controlled project, they can get the latest version of files, check in, check out and so on. They simply can't use RSC Explorer, so they can't Get projects they don't have on their HDDs already.
In the meantime, Source Control works just fine for the rest of the team, so I'm guessing it's a problem with some local settings. (The writer who is having trouble now can't get it working on her machine with her personal user or the admin user. At the same time, I can use the admin user just fine from my machine.)
This problem always solved itself after a while, but it's getting a bit annoying and I'm hoping someone knows why this is happening.

In general, manually moving files around inside the store like this should be discouraged.
reconstruct is telling you something is wrong:
ERROR: Inconsistent information: 0 idx records   41 messages   0 expunged
    Reconstructing...
    cannot retrieve message uid 590
    cannot retrieve message uid 807
    cannot retrieve message uid 911
    cannot retrieve message uid 915
    cannot retrieve message uid 1198
cannot retrieve message uid 1286The first line is to be expected based on what you have done. The store.idx indicates there are no messages in the folder. But it found 41 .msg files. So it is going to rebuild store.idx to fix that.
But then there is some problem with accessing the .msg files. Possibilities would include:
    - wrong ownership/permissions?
    - the .msg file being in the wrong NN subdir ??
If those guesses do not lead to anything, try truss on the reconstruct command to see what happens when reconstruct tries to open those files.

  • Project Not Checking out From Version Control

All of our help projects are managed using version control
    (Team Foundation Server).
I recently had an XPJ file that became corrupted. As per
Adobe's instructions, I deleted the XPJ and CPD files and
regenerated the project from the HHP file. That worked fine, but
now launching the project from the XPJ file opens the project
outside of version control. (I'm no longer being prompted to check
the files out.) I think this is because the newly created XPJ file
now disassociated with the source control. If this is true, how do
I get the XPJ file back into source control?
    Hopefully this makes sense.
    Christina Stommel

    Hi Christina,
My understanding of the entire "version control" process is
limited but since no one else has thrown in, I will try to pass
along what little I know. What I have learned is that version
control works great until it doesn't.
What I've had to do in the past, when I've had these sort of
synchronization problems, is to remove the entire project from
version control (I would be sure to back up your local project as
well as your version-controlled project). Then, you should be able
to add the repaired project back to your source control software
(we use MS VSS but I think it shouldn't matter).
I have tried, in the past, to add individual files to the
database from the RH interface (you could try "check in all files")
and I have gone into the database and manually added the necessary
files, but I have had mixed results. In the end, it seems that
removing the project from version control, then adding it back, is
the only thing that is guaranteed to work.
    Good luck!

  • Cannot get project to open from Source Control

When trying to open project from Source Control, it times out (at Loading Index). After numerous tries, I'll get cpd file corrupt and I follow the steps (delete file and try again); sometimes I get very strange error messages.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem so I can open a good copy of the Source Control project on my desktop?

    Hi,
What version/flavour of RoboHelp are you using?
What source control client are you using? Are you using the RoboSource control on a 64 bit system? If so, you need to update RoboSource control: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/917/cpsid_91739.html. Note that this fix is for RoboHelp 9.

  • How to use while loops to implement a simple climate control.

    Hi,
I am currently a 4’th year computer systems engineering student in South Africa doing a primitive climate control project in LabVIEW 8.0. Although my knowledge and skill level of LabVIEW is far from that of an expert, I really enjoy working with it. The project consists of a motor driving some fan blades, a resistor heater and an analog temperature sensor. The basic functionality entails that a user specifies a desired temperature and then the program will heat if the current temperature is lower than desired or cool if the current temperature is above the desired temperature.
What I want to add is an acceptable temperature difference so that the fan and heater do not switch constantly as the threshold temperature is reached. Rather leave the current temperature to linger between the maximum (current + acceptable difference) or minimum (current – acceptable difference) allowed temperature before heating or cooling it to the desired temperature once again.
    I have attached 2 VI’s:
Final Assignment: I tried to achieve the sensible climate control by making use of a formula node. As soon as I substituted the if statements in the formula node with while statements, the VI did not respond. It did not give any errors, it just didn’t respond.
Final Assignment2: I tried the same but by making use of while loop structures. The while where my Input DAQ is works fine, but none of the other while loops work.
Please advise me on possible solutions for my problem/project.
    Thank you in advance.
    D. Weppenaar

    1. Your VI does not respond because your formula node is trapped in an infinite loop and cannot exit if you're out of the deadband. Replace the words "while" with "if" (or similar) and you might be getting somewhere. Sorry, I don't have DAQ installed, but what determines the loop rate?
    2. You have a dataflow issue. Only the inner loop on the left will run. All other loops must wait because they depend on data from the first loop. data is only available at an output tunnel of a loop once the loop finishes and a loop cannot start until all input tunnels contain data. Also the first loop can never stop, because the stop button is outside the loop and will never get read once the inner loop starts. The stop button needs to be in the innermost loop.
Most likely, all code segments should run synchronized, so delete all the inner loops. They serve no purpose. All yon need is the big outer loop as in the first code.
There are many ways to directly observe what is going on. For example you could run the VI in execution highlighting mode while watching the diagram.
Clearly, you need to become more familiar with LabVIEW basics. Maybe do a tutorial? Right now you might think that dataflow is a hindrance while in fact it is one of the most powerful advantages of dataflow programming. You simply need to be familiar with its logic.

  • Project Server 2010 / Sharepoint 2010 Permissions not syncing to Project Site

Project Permissions not syncing to Project Site
    Project Manager Group
New project is created and published project server sends permissions to Sharepoint which puts users into the following groups:
    <dir><dir></dir></dir><dir><dir>
    Web Administrator (Microsoft Project Server)
    Project Managers (Microsoft Project Server)
    Team members (Microsoft Project Server)
    Readers (Microsoft Project Server)
At this time the creator/owner, owner’s management, portfolio managers, and executives should all have Project Manager rights on the sharepoint site, and Admins will have Web Admin permissions.
Issue #1: Only the Web Admin permissions and creator/owner permissions are being added to the Sharepoint permission groups
Workaround #1: Going into the project site permissions and adding the
Project Managers (Microsoft Project Server) group manually and the sync will keep the permissions
Workaround #2: Going into the Server Settings, Manager Groups then removing or add all users to the No Permission Group, which forces an sync to all workspaces. Con: This workaround can only be down at night when users are not active since it will
block the queue for at least an hour.
    Project Owner Transfer
Previously created project has owner change, once saved and published project server sends permissions to update user’s permission to
Project Managers (Microsoft Project Server) on Sharepoint project site.
Issue #2: When Project owner is changed and project is published the owner is not getting permissions to the Sharepoint project site. However, if owner is also added to the team using the Build Team Feature the sync will give the owner Project
Manager permissions on the Project Site.
Workaround #1: Going into Server Settings, Project Sites, select project and Synchronize. Once this is done, the owner will have Project Manager Permissions without being added to the team.
Users who have been added to this project in Project Server 2010, but not assigned to tasks. Users who have assignments in this project in Project Server 2010 and are contributors to the project workspace site,
meaning that they can create and edit documents, issues, and risks. Users who have published this project or who have
Save Project permission in Project Web App and are contributors to the project workspace site, meaning that they can create and edit documents, issues, and risks. Users who have
Manage SharePoint Foundation permission in Project Web App and are contributors to the project workspace site, meaning that they can create and edit documents, issues, and risks.</dir></dir>

By default when you create project build team add users in the task and publish the project plan then All the User which are available in the project plan including Project owner will go to below mentioned group in project site:
    1. creator/owner, owner’s management, portfolio managers, and executives should all have Project Manager will get access to Project Managers (Microsoft Project Server)
    2. User who are having team member access to PWA will get Team members (Microsoft Project Server) access if they are assigned to the project task.
    3. User who are having team member access to PWA will get Readers (Microsoft Project Server) access if they are not assigned to the project task.
    4. Only PWA Administrator will get the access to Web Administrator (Microsoft Project Server)
Sharepoint permission you have to use when you want to give permission manually to users on project site
In the Project Site provisioning setting under Server setting if you have Check to automatically synchronize Project Web App users with Project Sites when they are created, when project managers publish projects, and when user permissions change in Project
    Server.
Then all the user get access as per describe above and if you will give access manually to any of the user either in project server group or in Sharepoint group once you will publish the project next time all the manually given permission will go away.
IF you want to give permission to user manually to sharepoint group or project server group then uncheck automatically synchronize Project Web App users with Project Sites when they are created, when project managers publish projects, and when user permissions
    change in Project Server.
You check PWA site setting --> Site permission then member of Sharepoint group user who will have access to sharepoint group in PWA site setting site permission will have access to all the project site sharepoint group as Project site inherit permission
    from PWA root site.
Both the issue which you have described is behavior of project site.
For issue 2 when first time project owner create and publish the project and projectsite is getting created then porject owner name gets access  in the porject manager (project server group) nect time if you will change the owner and publish the project
until he will not present in the project plan will not get the permission.
If you want to give sharepoint permission to users then uncheck automatically synchronize Project Web App users with Project Sites when they are created, when project managers publish projects, and when user permissions change in Project Server and give
    the permission manually.
Project site in 2010 has some issue and not full filling customer need some time ,Ms has came up with 2013 which is having tight integration with project sites .
Project workspace security groups are equal to the SharePoint Server 2010 security groups.
    Web Administrator equals Full Control
    Project Managers equals Design
    Team members equals Contribute
    Readers equals Read
    Users who have Manage
SharePoint Foundation permission in Project Web App and are contributors to the project workspace site, meaning that they can
create and edit documents, issues, and risks will get access to Web Administrator (Microsoft Project Server)
