Control scaling speed?

Video effect>motion>scale
The motion change is too abrupt.  I'd like to scale the velocity
of the engagement of the motion, slower at first and then up to speed,
without specifying a bunch of control points to fake the acceleration.
None of those contextual menu items is doing it, even "ease in".
Messing around with the velocity parameters in the effects window
seems to change nothing at all.
Anyone?
Thanks, Steve z

Don't know if it is still being sold, but Grass Valley's Imaginate was the perfect application for your intended purpose. There are many others as well, but PR is not the program of choice for this.

  • How do I control the speed of a 24 volt DC motor with a 5 volt signal?

    Hi guys, I need your expertise here. I am trying to control the speed of a 24 volt dc motor for a project. To do this I am using a MOSFET transistor. I am using the 5 volt output from a NI myDAQ microcontroller. When I connect up the circuit, the MOSFET allows roughly 13 volts to pass through the motor without a gate signal. When I apply a 5 volt signal to the gate of the MOSFET transistor it sends 24 volts to the motor and remains at this even when the 5 volt signal is removed. My plan was to use PWM on the gate signal to control the speed of the motor. I was hoping that the motor would be at 0 volts and ramp up to 24 volts with a 5 volt gate signal. It is a 3.6 amp motor and the MOSFET is a IRF520.

    For the last link the circuit I am using is the Unipolar transistor switch circuit.
    Any more info needed I will be glad to supply. Thanks

    I am unsure what the pump is for but I can help you to control the speed of a single phase brushed 24V DC motor.  I would recommend using an amplifier that can handle a pwm signal.  It will take a PWM from your myDAQ and translate that to a analog voltage to your motor.  This analog voltage will be supplied by your external 24 VDC Power supply.  A good example of this type of amplifier can be found here:

  • How can I get the highest control loop speed?

    currently I am doing a nonlinear control.
    whose control loop speed is higher than 20k.
    My PXI is 8145 and 8175 , with DAQ card 6040E.
    Each time I need only one point in and then processing , then output a point.

    I would recommend configuring your program like the example program, Real-Time PID Control.vi, that ships with LabVIEW. You can find it in LabVIEW by going to Help->Find Examples and type "PID" on the search tab. The Real-Time PID Control.vi shows a good way to design your program for a single point in, single point out application.
    If you're aiming for a 20KHz loop speed, you may not be able to attain this with the PXI-8175, assuming you also have a normal priority loop running to handle the communication back to the host computer. To time your code, you can use the NI Timestamp Code Time.vit template that comes with LabVIEW 7 Express. The PXI-8176, benchmarked for sinlge point PID loop rates up to 40 KHz, may be a better solution for you application.
    It is
    also a good idea to disable the USB port and to install only the RT drivers you need. For information on how this is done, follow this link.

  • Is there a way control fan speed in ubuntu linux to replace hp coolsense?

    My computer is prone to over-heating when I'm using Ubuntu and so I'm trying to control the fan speeds. I've researched a little and I'm blocked  on how to control fan speed  and then installed `lm-sensors`and `fan control`.
    I'm now trying to configure lm-sensors to no avail. In terminal I typed `sudo sensors-detect` and answer YES to all YES/no questions. Installed modules with` sudo /etc/init.d/kmod start`.
    Now when I typed `sudo pwmconfig`
    I get this output
    /usr/sbin/pwmconfig: There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed
    The way I tried to fixed this is to edit /etc/default/grub to add `acpi_enforce_resources=lax` to the `GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT` and then perform a grub update. I'm still having the same issue.
    Could it be that my fans  are PWM 3-pin  where fan speed is controlled by voltage?
    This is the output of the `sensors` command.

  • How to control the speed of a loopOut expression

    I have a looped walk-cycle of an elephant that I would like to control the speed of using a slider controller or similiar.
    I have a 25f walk cycle that Ive used the loopOut expression on. I would like to add to this something to control the speed of the loop so I can easily make the elephant walk, run or stop.
    Im not an Expression genius so would like some advice on how to go about this.
    Cheers

    Trying to create a rate slider is going to be complex. Dan Ebbert's MotionScript site has an explanation of how to write an expression for a speed control slider. It would be a good page to study.
    I would adjust the keyframes of my walk cycle so it was at the slowest speed, pre-compose, then adjust pre--comp settings and extend the length so it was much longer than the main comp and extend the walk cycle or you'll run out of cycles before the main comp ends. I would not convert your expression to keyframes because it is not necessary.
    Dan has an example that uses audio to drive time remapping. I already have all of his expressions for rate control in my animation presets library and use them all the time. I customized each or them to suit my typical needs. To customize his audio driving time remapping example I replaced the Audio Keyframes slider with an Effects Control slider attached to the layer. For a walk cycle you may want to keep all the values positive and animate between 0 and something like 3. I'm not sure what a walk cycle would look like while it was reversing.
    Here's what the expression looks like:
    spd = effect("Slider Control")("Slider");
    mult = .5;
    n = spd.numKeys;
    if (n > 0 && spd.key(1).time < time){
      accum = spd.key(1).value*(spd.key(1).time - inPoint);
      for (i = 2; i <= n; i++){
        if (spd.key(i).time > time) break;
        k1 = spd.key(i-1);
        k2 = spd.key(i);
        accum += (k1.value + k2.value)*(k2.time - k1.time)/2;
      accum += (spd.value + spd.key(i-1).value)*(time - spd.key(i-1).time)/2;
    }else{
      accum = spd.value*(time - inPoint);
    value + accum*mult
    Here's the animation preset: TimeRemapSpeedControl.ffx
    All you have to do is pre-compose, adjust the length of your pre-comp, then apply the expression and add keyframes.

  • How to control the speed of an animation in Flash Catalyst

    I had created a simple slide show  in Flash and published as a .swf file. The slide show contains few  images and the animation takes about 45 seconds to run at 8 frames per  second. When i imported it into Flash Catalyst, the animationa runs very  fast, taking only about 15 seconds to get through the whole slide show.  I re-adjusted the animation in Flash to make it run slower but when i  imported the new version into flash catalyst, it runs at the same speed,  --still very fast.
    Is there any way for me to control the speed of my animation and make it runs the same speed as I set up in Flash?
    Thanks,

    Take a look at this forum post to see one solution:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3402367#3402367
    It takes a little effort in Flash Builder. but it should work. I am assuming your custom component goes from state 1 to state 2, and all the effects occur in the timeline?
    The other option is to go back to Flash Profession and have it do the looping.

  • How to control fan speed on Satellite A660-11M?

    please any body know how to control fan speed its always 69% and make bad noise and the cpu usage is 3% no at high processing i try advanced power settings but still runing at high speed

    > I hope u didnt expect that they were gonna stay at 0% like forever
    Of course I dont expect this. When you switch on the notebook CPU reach high temperature in few seconds only and you must not wonder if pretty high CPU temperature and fan activity will be shown very soon.
    I dont know what do you expect but it is logic that cooling fan will run. Maybe all time maybe will be cut off for short period of time but it will run permanently. I dont see any problem there. With cooling method option it can be reduced a little bit.
    And what is your question? I didnt understand what you want to know exactly.

  • How can I control fan speeds in Win7 on a MBP-R for gaming?

    I have a MacBook Pro with Retina Display. It has had Windows 7 installed and I want to play some 3D action games. How do I stop internal parts from overheating? I intend to use a USB cooling pad but that'll do nothing if the internal fans remain at idle speed.
    The only Windows fan speed control utility I could find was the 4-year old SpeedFan which fails to detect the presence of any internal fans. I'm not impressed with the Windows community's failure to offer more and better than this tired old relic.
    So the questions remain:
    (1) Is the hardware still capable of automatically accelerating the fans as temperatures rise while gaming in Windows?
    (2) What In Windows forces the MBP-R to lock the nVidia GPU into continuous duty and ignores Intel GPU?
    (3) What control does the user have for (2)?
    (4) How can I protect my MacBook Pro/Retina from overheating while playing PC games, apart from not playing games?

    Moved from the Creative Cloud to the Lightroom forum. They will be able to help you here.

  • To controle burning speed in iDVD

    I'v got a PowerBook G4 from 2001 I found out that my computer can only read up to 4 x speed dvds. I have then later found out that I can still burn faster dvd's but I just have to burn the dvd in 4x speed.
    The question is then how do you controle the wrtting speed in iDVD.

    I then burned it on a dvd+
    DVD-R is more compatible with DVD players.
    I recommend a disk image burned to Verbatim DVD-R at 4X or slower using Toast or Disk Utility.
    David Pogue also recommends Verbatim on page 356 of his latest book:

  • How do you manually control the speed of your sys2 fan on an MSI K9N2 mobo?

    I've tried the latest version of Speedfan and have managed to adjust the fan speed for the cpu [sys1]  and sys2 with no problems.  I looked in bios and could only find a command line for the sys1 fan; sys2's rpms registers both on bios and speed fan but cannot be controlled.  I know that sys fan 1/2 have both identical connectors [ground, sensor, and +12V], then why isn't sys2 not responding the same to sys1?

  • Write a Labview program to control both speed and direction of stepper motors

    Hello,
    I am currently undertaking a project in University. As part of it I have to run two stepper motors at varying speeds, and one of them in forward/reverse. The motor I have for the project is a RS 191-8334 (V9728) and the controller is a RS 240-7920 (v10900). I have no experience of using Labview, and the version I have on my laptop is Labview 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Ideally I would want a program to do both full/half steps, forward/reverse, have speed control and be able to control the number of steps.

    Hi Wef,
    I would need to know more information about the devices in order to assist you.
    What inputs does the stepper motor controller require and what hardware are you using to supply the required signals to the motor.

  • Controlling Fan Speed

    I would like to be in control of my Laptop's fan speed is there any way in which I can do this? Maybe some software? The software I have tried so far does not recognise it and let me change it.

    Try CPUCool software. It has several different methods to detect temperature and control the fans.You do not need to use the overclocking features of the software in order to see temps and control the fans. You can select  the method for detection of sensors the PC uses (transistor , thermal electrode , Pentium compatible on die) CPUCool works great on my SR1303WM  I used the overclock feature on the Sempron 2 GHz. It increased speed to 2.2 GHz. (stable no audio or video defects at 100% CPU usage. 10% increase Free of charge. To overclock you will need the PLL #  I found it listed on an ICS chip on the motherboard. Controller chip PLL# relates to the chip set on the board (north / south ridge) model Compaq Presario   SR1303WM,motherboard                        ASUS A7V8X-LAcontrler chip                         ICS PLL# 950910AFchip set                                 VT8237 / KM400A CPU                                       Sempron 2.0 GHz.
