Control the burn size of the photos

can I make only one set of photos and control the image quality ( 2128x1200 ) or ( 4272x2848 ) any way I like when burnning ?

select the photos and export them (file menu ==> export) to a desktop folder - one of the export options is to set a custom size - the burn the desktop folder to a CD/DVD
The iPhoto "burn" command makes a mini iPhoto library which is suitable only for using with iPhoto on another Mac

  • Controlling the Photo Slideshow thru a remote

I have my itouch hooked up to my tv via the docking station and the composite av cables. I want to know if there is a way to have the little white remote control (advance, pause, etc.) the photo slideshow. Right now if press those buttons during the photo slideshow, it just starts controlling the music.
Please let me know if there is a way to change it to have the white little remote control the photo slideshow.

  • Controlling the photos I see on screen saver

How can I control the photos I see on my Apple TV screen saver when I stream from my iCloud account

A small portion of the flash drive is used to temporarily cache photos for screensaver, it will vary slightly but it's typically around 100. If you want to have control then it would be best to create a shared photo stream (via iCloud) or album (via computer) to be used specifically for this purpose.

  • Why does Adobe Acrobat now control the photos on my pc?

Why does Adobe Acrobat now control the photos on my pc?

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
After I downloaded Acrobat, Adobe Reader tries to control viewing of my photos.  When I plug my digital camera into the PC, all the files are labeled “PDF”; the files still have the .jpg extension, though.  For photos on my PC, when I try to open them, Adobe reader insists on opening them, but it can’t, and I get the message:
“Adobe Reader could not open photo.jpg because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged”
I attached several photos to an e-mail that I sent after downloading Acrobat, and I could not open the photos before sending the e-mail (in order to verify that they were the correct photos before I sent the e-mail).  Adobe Reader was my only option when I clicked “open” to view a photo, and it would not open the photo.
I assume that I did something during the Acrobat download process that has caused this situation.  My plan is to uninstall Acrobat and then re-install it and this will hopefully remove this situation.
Any suggestions you have about this situation would be greatly appreciated.

  • How do I control the photo order in albums transfered to the ipad?

I sync a file of photo albums from my Mac to my iPad.  Sometimes the order is alphabetic based on the name of each photo (desired) and sometimes the order is some other order perhaps based on when the picture was taken.  How do I ensure that the photos come in in alphabetic order? (i.e. Haiti-101, Haiti-102...)

    iOS: Understanding photo sorting
    And the article states .....
If you are using iPhoto or Aperture for Mac OS X, your photos automatically sort on your device in the same order in which they are sorted in iPhoto or Aperture. Changes made to the sorting of your pictures in your iPhoto or Aperture albums and events are reflected on the device after syncing.

  • How do you control the position and size of images, i.e,. photo to the printer?

I am trying to figure out how to control the positon and size of photos or pics that are included in an email that I send to my printer via HP ePrint.
    This question was solved.

    Hey Old_Salt,
What model HP printer do you have?
ePrint is a very simple system when it comes to printing, because it doesn't provide as many controls as one may be used to with a computer.  Many of the photosmart printers are designed to recognize a photo in ePrint and print the image to the proper photo paper.

  • How do I control the size of my photos in iWeb?

    Hello
I wish to ask if it is possible to control the size of a photo in iWeb when publishing photos.
What I want is that people can press on any photo in my collection and see it in high resolution. But at the moment it is messing with my photos. Some come up tiny regardless of them being a 4MB Pixel shot, and most of them if not all of them are restricted to one size...
    Thank you...
    -Steve

iWeb resizes photos in the following cases -
When using the of the photograph templates where you drag and drop your pictures:
    1) Size is capped at 800px x 800px for the slide
    2) Files are compressed, usually ~120KB\
    3) New thumbs are created (the small image you click on); those tend to be 35-45KB.
If you add a shadow, reflect or graphic option - odds are iWeb will convert your JPEG into a PNG and file size mushrooms. I've been created very compact banners, but due to PNG coversion the size has gone up by 6-8x...
I have NOT looked into just adding a photo to page and seeing what happens to the file size. Most of my tug of war has been with slide show and trying to understand why the 300-500KB files I was using were looking so bad. Now that I know iWeb is doing, I can sort of work around it.
It doesn't mean I'm happy. I'm going to add a gallery page with my favorites, format for roughly 1000x800 and keep the file size around 400 KB. I do all the file resizing in Photoshop CS2.
To put all this in perspective, i have around 325 picture uploaded - most were resized to 450 KB for the web. That 146 MB just for pictures. Add another 10 MB for web content, etc. I thought ~160MB should be used up on the iDisk. Due to iWeb's compression, usage is only 70 MB for this site.

How can I control the image size when I export form iphoto, the choice is too limited, I need to send a photo under 3 MB but if I choose high quaulity it is only 1.1 and i need to keep the best quaulity I can. Thanks for help.

Any image can only be as large as the Original. With a program like Photoshop you can UpRes an image and get it to a bigger size, larger files size as well, but the actual quality of the image will be degraded, depending on the UpRes system and the original quality of the image.
iPhoto is not the program to be doing that in and I don't think it even has that option.
So I suspect the image you are trying to send isn't much bigger than what you are getting. You can also try Exporting it from iPhoto to yopur desktop and see what size you end up with. If it is still that 209KB +/- file size then that is the size of the original image.

  • I would like to burn an i-photo album with subtitles to a CD with the photos in the same sequence as they appear in the album and to have the CD work the same on a PC as on the MAC.

I have created several i-photo albums with subtitles and proceeded to burn them to a CD. The CD burned with the correct subtitles, however, the photos did not appear in the same sequence.  I tried another method and the photos appeared in the proper sequence, however, my subtitles did not appear as in the albums. Is there a method that I can burn an album to a CD with the photos in the same sequence and with the same subtitles as in the album?
I would also like this CD to work the same on a PC as it does on a MAC.

sorry but files on a CD have no order - filles are simply bits on the disk - the file viewer used to view them determines the order of viewing - for example using the finder on the Mac you can view files in Alpha order, date created order, date modified order, file size  order, etc, etc, etc
If you expor tthe files to a desktop folder using the sequetial option then the finder (and probably Windows explorer) would display them in the order you want IF the user views them in alpha order
Bottom line is that you have no control over how the end user views files - that they make

  • HT1583 When burning a DVD of photos and music from iDVD, the photos blur right before the transitions and the music has about 5 second glitches here and there before the music starts again. Is there any way to burn the DVD without this happening?

Each year I am in charge of making a slideshow of photos and music for my annual company meeting. I always use iDVD to set up my photos and music and then burn the DVD to play at the meeting. Every time I burn the DVD, it blurs right before the transition of the photo. It has always done this and I'm not sure why. It will also make the music glitch in a few spots for about 5 seconds or more. If I burn another DVD to try it again, the glitches will still be there, but in different spots. I've tried the highest quality of DVD's possible and this still happens. What can I do to fix this problem?

    Try disabling transitions altogether!
There is a technical reason that this breakup happens - it is to do with how slideshows can be saved within the DVD specification, they can either be recorded as 'video streams' or as a collection of 'still images'.
When you add transitions iDVD has no option but to use a video stream, this can result in terrible 'breakup' because the mpeg 2 encoder isn't designed to handle scenes that are static with a sudden short change. You can see 'artefacts' in the video stream…
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_artifact
'Still image slideshows' avoid the issue altogether by only showing a static image, no video compression is used & because the scene doesn't transition so it shouldn't breakup.
NOTE: Music on the slideshow is irrelevant, both types can use a soundtrack.
I cannot remember if it is possible to force iDVD to only make still image slideshows, I always use DVD Studio Pro to correctly setup DVD's. I'd suggest you use the option to save the DVD to a disk image & then open that disk image so that DVD Player can preview it, that should save on the number of test disks you burn.
If you cannot make it avoid using video streams you may be ether off making your own video slideshow in iMovie & then import that into iDVD. It may eventually look better despite being a video stream!
iDVD isn't really condusive to professional levels of control.

  • Is it possible to resize a photo in iPhoto--controlling the maximum dimensions and the dpi?

is it possible to resize a photo in iPhoto--controlling the maximum dimensions and the dpi?

The dpi depends on the print size you'll be making. This explains it in detail:  The Myth of DPI.
A 300 dpi image for a 4x6 print will have fewer pixels in it than a 300 dpi image for an 8. 10 print.
You can set the pixel dimension of a photo by exporting it via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option and use the Custom size setting.  However, you should crop the photo to the size ratio you want before exporting, i.e 4 x 6, 5 x 7, etc.  Then set the maximum pixel size you want for the image:

If you place in Muse - an image with either height or width larger than 2048 pixels - Muse scales the image down proportionately, limiting the larger dimension to 2048.
However, if you want to use the placed image at its original size, you can scale the image up to desired size either by dragging the resizing handles or by entering Height and Width values in the Control Strip on top. After that, go to the Assets panel and locate the image in there, then right click that image in Assets panel and choose "Import Larger Size". That would bring back the lost image information from the original image.
Hope this gives you clarity on what you wanted to know.

  • I made a imovie out of a group of photos and added music. When I burned to DVD on iDVD and played back the disc all of the photos were larger than the frame could accommodate and the sides were cut off. I also tried resizing from 16 9 to 4 3 and no better

I made and iMovie out of a group of photos and added music. When I burned to I DVD the pictures came out to wide to fit into the frame. I tried again by changing the size from 16 9 to 4 3 and it didn't make any difference. Would going to share to browser rather than directly to share to IDVD make a difference?

What do the photos look like if you play the movie within iMovie?  Sounds like adjusting Ken Burns would help.

  • Is there a way to control the size of the pictures taken by iPhone?

The photos taken by iPhone are fairly large photos and require quite a bit of time for transfering when taking hundreds of photos.  Is there any settings in iPhone that can control the size of the pictures being taken?  Thanks

Sorry, no. You might try looking in the App store for a third-party app that provides this functionality, but such is not natively built into the iPhone.

  • Is there a way I can control the resolution of the photos I transfer to the iPad?

Is there a way I can control the resolution of the photos I transfer to the New iPad? I just received the new iPad and would like to reduce the size of the resolution of the pictures I am transferring.
I have storage capacity issue and I am only able to transfer about half the number of pictures I had on original Ipad with the same storage capacity. I upgraded to the New Ipad and I am transferring all the pictures I had in the original Ipad. I do not know why they are not all transfering since the New Ipad got full before all the pictutres where transfered. I used Itunes to transfer the pictures I have in Iphoto .  I assume this is because the New Ipad has a higher resolution screen and is allowing the pictures to be transfered automatically to the New Ipad at a higher resolution than the original Ipad?
    Any thoughts?

I have a Canon 7D and the picture are large.
Step my step instructions, would be great if it is at all possible.
What you as is difficult without knowing your exact circumstances, i.e. what format pictures are you sending, do you shoot in .jpg or shoot in RAW and convert to .jpg, etc.  However, I don't see a way to quickly reduce the size of your image files without reprocessing your files in some manner.
You could export all of the images to be loaded onto your iPad in JPEG format using Lightroom or Aperture and greatly lower the quality setting in the .jpg export.  If you do this make sure you export to a new folder. Lowering the quality can have a huge impact on the size of the image files.  If this worked it would give you the advantage of still having the largest amount of pixels allowable on the iPad 3.  I found that on my iPad 2 I could 'get away' with setting the quality to around 50 without seeing any obvious changes.  A higher quality setting may or may not be required on the iPad 3, time will tell and as my iPad 3 is going back I've not taken the time to put more than a few sample (800 or so) images on it.  They were exported at a quality setting of 60 and look as well as can be expected considering my defective iPad 3 display.
If you images are already exported at a lower quality setting and are still too large the next step would be to reduce the dimensions of the image.  Lightroom has this capability.  I don't know about Aperture, but I assume it does.
My normal workflow with my 7D:
    Take picture in RAW.
Transfer to Lightroom 4 converting the Canon RAW files to Adobe's DNG format.
Process images in Lightroom.  If any need further processing then export to Photoshop and/or Nik plug-ins.
Export processed images that I wish to have on my iPad to my Pictures folder in .jpg format using a quality setting of 60.  I do not reduce the dimension of the image as I want the maximum sized images my iPad will allow.  As I only transfer a couple of thousand size is not an issue.
Use iTunes to Sync photos to iPad.
As was mentioned by a previous poster you could use Photoshop to bulk process the photos but that requires both Photoshop and a knowledge of creating a bulk action.  Not hard, but very confusing if you haven't used both Photoshop and the bulk process before.
There may be other methods that could work for you but I am not aware of them.  With the breadth of experience of the members of this forum perhaps someone else could chime in with suggestions.
