Controlling hyperlinks

I've produced a document with eight hyperlinks in Quark 7 on a Mac. The client wants to publish it as a PDF but with only four clickable links. I exported the document from Quark with 'Include Hyperlinks' turned off. I then opened it in Acrobat 9 Pro (with 'Read text as hyperlinks' turned off) and manually set up the relevant links with the Links Tool.
The problem is, when I open the PDF on a PC, the links that are meant to be dead are live and clickable.
Where am I going wrong?

I'm not sure but I believe that unless the end user also chooses to turn off the 'Read text as hyperlinks' function anything that reads as a link will function as a link. I'd think the only way to avoid that is turn dead links into outline or bitmap graphics so they're not seen as links any more. But someone else may have a better solution.

I have used a java bean for a multi-record block item. On When-new form-instance I m using fbean package as follows

to get the second record value , where in I want to avoid the hardcoded 2 or 1

Forms 9i FRM-40738 Hyperlink Bean problem

Hello,
I've this error coming please help me.
I needed to see, how a bean is integerated in Forms 9i. I was
searching through the example at metalink and it gave me a
paper
"How to Integerate HyplerLink Bean in forms 9i", what steps
i followed are given in that paper.
Now when i run the form, it gaves me the error
FRM-40738 Argument to Built in SET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY CANNOT BE NULL.
the steps i followed are
1- I created a form called hyperlink.fmb
2- Then i created a ON LOGON trigger at this form
3- I opened the canvas and draw a Bean Area on it
4- Then i renamed that Item to Hyperlink by Property Plattelete
5- I named the canvas CONTROL
6- Then at module level i created a TRIGGER WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE and put following PL.SQL code in it

Then did the following steps of the locating the bean by the
JAR method.
Method 1 - The JAR Method:
a. Locate the hyperlink.jar file located in D:\9iDS\forms90\demos\hyperlink\classes.
b. Move the hyperlink.jar file to 9iDS_HOME\forms90\java.
c. Find the formsweb.cfg file in 9iDS_HOME\forms90\server.
d. Add the following configuration section to the file:

archive_jini=f90all_jinit.jar,hyperlink.jar
width=675
height=480
separateFrame=false
splashScreen=no
lookAndFeel=oracle
colorScheme=blue
The archive_jini parameter pointing to hyperlink.jar is the most important part
of this configuration.
e. Now go into Form Builder and accomplish the following:
Edit->Preferences->Runtime Tab
Add the config parameter to your "Application Server URL". It should look
something like this:
http://machine.domain:port/forms90/f90servlet?config=hyperlink
Then i compiled it and ran it, Now it gives this error
FRM-40738 Argument 1 to built in SET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY cannot
be null.
P.S I have set the implementation class property but, still i don't know
whats the problem, and where i am making mistake, please help me.

Please check the path that u have given. Think the mistake is in the path.

I can't see the hand-cursor to controlled slides from a Quicktime Interact.

Suddenly, my hand-cursor disappeared to controlled Hyperlinks from presentations in Quicktimes Interactives, make with Keynote.
How can I get it again?
I search in preferences, but I don't know how to appeared it.

Ok, that didn't work and only closed out this window in discussions. After it closed this one I tried again doing the same but nothing. Makes sense though because if it closed this one out it would close everything else out on my desktop too. This is like a giant screen saver. All my other .jpg icons are still on my desktop over the top of this big pic. Is it possible this is what it is, just a screensaver? I did the same with another pic from the same website and it didn't do this. I clicked on my mouse to save a pic to the desktop and this monstrous thing appeared. My dock is still there and the top bar that has the apple, Safari, edit, etc., but not anything else that you would normally click on to close a window.

PRINT to PDF - how to retain links as links and images as images

I print webpages to PDF all the time.
but it is not very good from fiefox for me, because of 3 reasons
1 the links on the webpage dont stay as hyperlinks in the PDF file (I test by clicking on the link in the pdf, it is blue and underlined, but does not go anywhere when clicked). This happens 100% time
2 the images dont say as images in the pdf (I test by click hold image on the iphone and if its an image, the popup will be save to image to camera roll) - this fails to happen. This happens 100% time
3 the layout is not IDENTICAL to the webpage. This happens about 50% time
so my workaround has been to
1 highlight the desired text
2 click email button (an add-on)
3 cut pasted the selected text to email
4 send to myself
5 print the email to pdf
and it works...
so this is a wee clunky ....
and clogs up my mailbox a little more than i desire...
SO
any ideas for better options.... ???

Mail Signature Issues (multiple)

Cumulatively I have spend 20-30 hours trying to make a signature and continue to have issues (never see this experience in APPLE holiday commercials!). I have researched this Board and there are a few cross-overs, but I am including them all here to be complete. I am hoping someone at APPLE adds these to their list and addresses the many issues in creating a signature. As a small business owner, I do not have time or money to invest in a simple e-mail signature and should not be spending this much time on something so simple.
1) Icons w/hyperlinks launch safari when viewing the email on IPAD/IPHONE, but do not launch when viewed on MAC
In my signature I have a row of social media icons with hyperlinks. If I send an email to a iPad or iPhone, the recipient can tap the icons and the sites open just fine. However, if I send an email to someone on a MAC, clicking those icons only opens up image viewer (showing the icons). I can tell they have hyperlinks by mousing over them, can even copy and paste into safari and open the sites. But for some reason viewing them on a Mac does not open the sites. Any thoughts?
2) Cannot Control Hyperlink Placement Well
As stated, toward the bottom of my signature I have a row of 6 social media icons, each with hyperlinks. I successfully inserted the icons, edited the hyperlinks, etc. Just below this row of icons, I have additional signature text (my address, a paragraph of privacy/legal language). Upon hyperlinking the last social media icon in the row, ALL text below it (my address, legal language, etc.) assumes the same hyperlink of the last icon in that row. As much as I am careful to only highlight the icon when applying the URL, I cannot limit the hyperlink to only apply to this last icon, it is as if it applies to that icon and everything down the signature. I have tried reserving a few lines of spaces between that icon and the text before applying the hyperlink, etc. It has not worked. Extremely frustrating - this one has cost me 8 hours at least.
3) Icon Images Not Displaying (Not Locally Stored or Imbedded?)
I created the signature on my MAC, and when I send an email the icons display on the recipient devices (but as stated in #1, only an ipad/iphone can tap and actually activate the hyperlinks). I wanted to have the same signature on my IPAD and IPHONE. So I copy and pasted the signature from an email (sent from my MAC) into the signature section of my IPAD and IPHONE. Sending a message from either device then does not display the graphics/images. This is very frustrating. I have read that images must be on the local device (or something like that) in order to display. Can someone please help me replicate the signature I have on my MAC for my phone and iPad? Do I have to hire someone to do an HTML version?
I sincerely hope APPLE improves signatures. This experience is honestly making me regret converting over to APPLE as I bet Outlook & Windows devices would not have these issues.

Strange behaviour of clientinfo Javabean

I have two forms to test some of forms9i features. One of the test is the clientinfo Javabean. One on form (using several features of 9i Demos: for example hyperlink bean, modcursor etc.) doesn't work: when i get certain
properties, using FBean.Invoke_Char a receive a null value.
I created another form with exactly the same commands for registering and getting info from the Java Bean, and in this form it works ...! So my question is: is there some kind of limitation about the use of bean areas in a form module, or am i missing something?. YouÂ´ll see that except for some physical attributes, the bean areas have the same properties. Also the code for registering both java beans and from pulling info is the same.

I guess you must be right. There must be some problem when then bean area gets instantiated. I have followed your advice: Move bean area to another block, set single record to yes, check ut visible and dimension properties, yet it doesn't work. By the way, this form uses stack canvas. Any ideas.?.

A customer has 500 articles he has written & wants each one to be accesed via a catalogue page!

Roughly how many images would there be in the site?
As a 32-bit application Muse is currently limited to using no more than 2Gb of memory. Muse does not keep your whole site in memory at once, but the larger the total about of data in your site is (which mostly means the more images), the more it will degrade overall performance as Muse has to shuffle things in and out of memory.
One method for working on a very large site and avoiding this performance hit is to divide the site into multiple sections where each section is in a separate .muse file and uploaded to a separate folder on the server. This has the drawback that navigation controls (hyperlinks) that cross sections are more labor intensive to create and maintain, but it has the advantage of enabling Muse to be used to create a site of virtually any size.

Hyperlink and Input Control

Hi,
Right now am struck at creating input control. Basically, the requirement is we have a crosstab onto which we have 3 measures based on the equipment group and type as shown in the below screenshot. When we click on any values from Active assets it navigates to child report and shows the info about active assets. Similarly, when clicked on Cumulative MTBF it should navigate to the same child report and show the table related to Cumulative MTBF. Now in child report what condition should I place so that on click of any of the measure ,respective table should be popped up and other tables should be hidden in the child report.

Hyperlinks not working in adobe acrobat 7.0 browser control type library 1.0

Hi,
We have used the adobe acrobat 7.0 browser control type library 1.0 in our VB 6.0 project to show the pdf files.
We generate pdf files using oracle reports. We have generated some pdf files which contains hyperlink to UNC path.
If we open that pdf file using acrobat reader it works fine and we can access the file kept on the path specified at hyperlink,
problems arise when we open that file from front end ie. from VB 6.0 which uses the browser control, we are not able open the files through the links.
Could you please help us on this. Are we missing any properties or methods of the browser control? Or we need to use higher version of the control.

Thanks for your reply. I'll check at Adobe forums as you suggested. If you're right that no Firefox plugin is available for my version of Adobe Acrobat, I'll have to give up using Firefox just after installing it! And I do like it!

Adding Hyperlink to Control

I am new to Flex 2. I have downloaded and in the process of
reading the Adobe Documentation on using Flex 2 (Getting Started
with Flex 2, and Using Flex 2). Could someone direct me to an area
of documentation on the technique for adding a hyperlink to a
control? For example, how do you add a navigate to URL to a button?

Flex has a LinkButton which presents itself as bold-faced
text (you can change that with styles). When you mouse-over it
highlights; clicking the mouse generates a click event:

The hyperlink in the control panel has disapeared did I inadvertanly turned an option off??

Thank you for the response, I found that out and it indeed, returned the hyperlink option to the control panel. However I still am unable to “see” my child pages in either Preview or Preview Page in Browser. They are visible in the Plan Mode.

Hyperlink in Table Control

Hi Everyone,
I am currently working on a module pool program where one of the requirements is to have hyperlink on the values in one of the columns in a table control. As far as I know it is not possible, I have already done my research and also searched this forum for any earlier posts regarding this but couldn't get any.
Is this possible and if so how do I go about it? I have already mentioned to the client that it might not possible but wanted to be sure before confirming to them and suggesting an alternate solution.

I am not sure whether it is possible to have a hyperlink in the Modulepool program , as the hyperlink is to connect to open a link online . But yes this is verymuch possible in Webdynpro which is internet accessible .

When I control-click a hyperlink in a text document, I get the message "there was a problem sending the command to the program"

In the last few days I've found that control-clicking a hyperlink in a document, or clicking a link in Thunderbird, does not bring up Firefox. This started I believe after I updated to Firefox 5.0. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and Firefox has always performed perfectly until now.
I had also updated Thunderbird which caused my ThunderBrowse extension to be disabled (not compatible) so I had assumed that was the problem in Thunderbird. But since it happens in a text document too, I'm no longer sure.

Shift+control+A conflicts between FF4 and blogger: When I want to create a hyperlink, the add-on tab opens.

Blogger has long used Shift+Control+A as the keyboard command for inserting hyperlinks. Now that I've switched to FF4, I discover that it's also the command for opening the add-ons tab. I can still create a hyperlink but every time I do, I have to close the add-on tab. This is a nuisance when writing a link-heavy post. Since I blog regularly on several different Blogger pages, the annoyance factor is growing regularly.
I checked the Keyboard Shortcuts page and read, "Firefox does not provide any method of customizing keyboard shortcuts." Is this absolute? If so, I suggest deleting or changing the FF4 hotkey since Blogger has years of precedence with this command.

You don't need to use a digital line to create a TTL pulse. The PCI-6025E has two onboard general purpose counters. You can use one of these counters to create a single pulse of the desired pulse width. For an example of how to program the counters on your board, refer to LabVIEW's Search Examples>>I/O Interfaces>>Counters>>Pulse Generation>>DAQ-STC based.
The advantage of using a counter over the digital line is that it allows you to control the timing of the pulse through hardware and not software. Thus, it is inherently faster, and the timing resolution is more accurate. The counter will count down an internal 20 MHz timebase to create the pulse delay and the pulse width.
