Controlling Task expiry at User Level programatically

Hi to all BPEL Guru's. Need some expert advice.
I am using Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 on weblogic server 9.2
The requirement given to me says that,
- Number of approvers for a task may vary on case to case bases, and needs to be pushed in the workflow as a set of parameters.
- Every user may have a different SLA to act on a given task.
To satisfy the first requirement my first approach was to use Sequential Approver Participant Type and push a comma seperated approver list to the workflow. But the issue with this approach is, associating a different expiry date to every user would be a big deal. And even if I find a way to get the associated expiry date, I would not be able to set it on user level, as the 'By Expression' is supported only at Global Expiration and Escalation Policy level and not at the Participant type level. Does anything click in your mind as a workaround to this? Appreciate your help. One workaround I can think about is to get handle of 'OnUpdated' callback and change the Global Expiration and Escalation policy everyime the task is updated.
The second approach was to have a defined set of 'Single Approver' participant types (i.e. Multiple Single Approvers)under 'Assignment and Routing Policy'. Here the dynamicity of number of approvers is lost. So I will have to design multiple workflows with a selected set of approvers. The workflow submitter can select the appropriate workflow and submit it. In this approach I can atleast associate an expiry date with a user in the incoming payload and assign to the single approver.
Not sure how to get out of it.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Vikas

  • How to create a profile value at user level programatically

    Dear all,
I want to create a profile value at user level programatically, I refer to the developer guide and try to use fnd_profile.put() to create a new value.
But I find out the value is just created in session level, not be inserted into base table.
So is there anyone know how to realize this function in PL/SQL?
    Any idea is appreciated.

  • Output Control at User level

    Hi ,
I have a requirement. Is that in the Output Determination  can we control the specific ouput type for user specific.
I,e In billing output for output type "RD00" for the print medium 1, i need to control at user level. One user should be able to generate this output & the other user should not.
Please give me suggestion on the above. This should be only controlled through configurations but not through any Z Programs.
    Points Rewarded.
    Regards,
    Chakri M

    Dear Chakri,
As you mentioned that one user should have access for Output but the other should not have the same.
Please contact your basis or security team to give the access to the person  whom you want authorisation for Output and check the other user whether he is having access to Output generation, If he have authorisation ask Basis team to deactive his  authorisation.
If you have any concern revert back the same to me

  • How to mitigate control at User levels

    Hello Friends,
Can anyone send me step by step process documentation on how to mitigating control at user levels? I have already run the risk analysis ( Global Conflict roles analysis/risk analysis). So I do have all detail information like control ID , management approver and description, etc.
It will be highly appreciated on any guidence on this.
    Regards,
    Suvi

    Hi,
Please follow the below steps to mitigate user.
    1.  once you get the all details ( Mitigation control id, approver id and Monitor id), then select/click on the RAR Mitigation tab-> click on the Mitigated User option->search.
There is one page is open and then click on ADD button at the bottom of the screen. once you click on add option it will ask the Mitigation control id, user id, Risk id etc... once filled the all required filelds and save. Now successfully applied the moitihation control to the particler user.

  • Assigning a single task to multiple users in a state machine/ sp d workflow

     hi,
i have a requirement to implement a   workflow based soln.
step1 : approver1 will select few documents , which is provide as a link , with other columns in a  gridview
approver1  clicks on a  button send to doclib1 and its moved and inserted into doclib1
    my workflow should start.
step2 : a task is assigned to leadconsultant1 and a item/items is created in  the task list.
leadconsultant1 will review  the document/documents and send back to approver1 if its ok.approver1 then send this info  to the requestor offline.
step3 :  if leadconsultant1 is not reviewing the document , he can select few consultants [asue peoplpickwer control is avlble] and assign same document to multiple consultants.
so here comes the complex part : in a visual studio statemachine workflow , how can i assign single task to multiple users also, when a user completes his task [ means reviews the document the workflow  will not be completed. and workflow will be completed
ONLY WHEN  all the users selected by the leadconsultant1 completes their review].
or is there  anyway in sp designer 2013, i can achieve the same scenario?
help or pointers are highly appreciated!

    Hi Benjamin KNR,
For this issue, in the first level approval, you can use custom task form to add a field for approvals to add the consultants to approve next.
Then on this task changed event, get the consultants fields value from the task, set the value to a custom field in current item to record the consultants value.
Go to next state, to create next approval task for consultants. Set the task AssignedTo to the fields that store the consultants value.
On the event driven state, onTaskChanged event, check all task status, if all the tasks have been approved, then go to next state.

  • IPhone: Install user certificate programatically

I am very new to Iphone and the Iphone SDK's. What I have been tasked to do is figure out if we can install a certificate (User Email)programatically. Basically my use case would be something like this
    1) user connects his IPhone to the PC.
    2) User opens a webpage and connects to a certificate provisioning site
    3) User selects the phone type and clicks install
    4) The provisioning site, would contact the CA, generate an email certificate
    5) Some ActiveX controll would then connect to IPhone and install the generated certificate on the IPhone, by using the Iphone SDK
Is the above secnario even possible? I have researched the above scenario with windows mobile and it seems like you can do it with their API's
If anyone can point me to the right direction it would be great

  • Assigning human task to a user not exist in the ldap - actionable task by email address

    Hello experts,
we have a requirement to assign a task to an external user (not exist in the ldap) to perform some action by allowing the system to send an actionable email.
Internal user will capture the external-user name & emailaddress in the task form. System should use this information and assign the task to the user by sending an actionable email. Our requirement is, these external users should not have access to bpm workspace, so we can not store the user information within the system.
Currently I have tried assign the task to an internal user (users configured in weblogic) and system sends out an actionable email and able to set the outcome of the task by replying to the email.
How can the same be achieved, without the user being in our system? Is it possible? I am OK to create a temporary user before assigning the task, but will be there be any impact if I delete the user after the task has been completed?

    AnilB,
Assigning a task to a user that is not in the directory will likely result in the BPM flow going into suspended state. To avoid this, assign the task to a pre-created group, you should not get an error even if the group is empty. You can then add and remove the users to that group to control access to the task.

  • LaserJet P1505n printing slow just for user-level accounts in Win7

I have several workstations running Win7 Pro 64-bit that have been installed as replacements for XP machines.  All of them print to one of several P1505n printers, and are using the latest drivers from HP.  Under XP there were no problems printing to these printers, but the Win7 machines have significant delays when trying to print.  The Windows test page prints instantaneously, but printing from any other application has a delay of up to a full minute before the job begins to print.  Once the job prints, it prints without issue.
One thing that I have noticed during my testing seems to point to permissions.  If I am logged in using my admin-level account, everything prints as it should, with no delays at all.  Once I log in with a user-level account, however, the delays begin.  I found the driver files at C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3, but giving "everyone" full control over those files does not help.
Is there anything else that I should be looking at?
    Thanks in advance!
    Donny

In the end, I was able to resolve the problem by installing the Vista x64 drivers.  No playing with permissions necessary.

  • Permissions set at USER level

Can I just confirm, that if I open a User within Server settings and I see any of the Global permission tickboxes ticked then these have at some point been set at the User Level. If however, best practice has been observed and users have only ever been
selected against groups then I should NOT see any boxes in any of the Users permissions ticked at all?  Is that correct?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

    Steve --
You are absolutely right, my friend.  If you see ANY checkboxes selected in the Categories or Global Permissions sections of a User page, then these selections represent an override to the permissions specified by the Groups to which the user belongs.
Best practice dictates that permissions for each user be controlled by adding the user to Groups, which makes for a simpler and easier to understand security model.  This is a GREAT question, my friend, and I applaud you for asking it.  :)

  • Can we create wallet at User Level to implement TDE in Oracle 10g

    Hi
I am going to use a Oracle 10g TDE security feature for data security.I have gone through with lots document.Everywhere there is mention to open or close a Wallet at system level.I mean ALTER SYSTEM..that means except DBA no one can see the encrypted column.
But my requirement is bit different,I want to encrypt the column based on user.
lets take example- Suppose we have one table TEST with C1,C2,C3,C4,C5,C6 column and there is U1,U2,U3 user.I want to encrypt C1 and C3 for U1 , C2 and C5 for U2 , C4 and C6 for U3 and U1,U2 and U3 can see only all columns except encrypted column.
My question is Can we apply TDE at User level rather than system level.
Any ideas or thought would be appreciable.
    Thanks in advance.
    ANwar

The idea of TDE is to provide data protection on storage media, so when your backup tapes drop from the truck or the hard disk of a stolen laptop is sold online, encrypted data remains encrypted and can't be read by anyone.
It seems to me as if you try to achieve access control by encryption, which you don't need: If users have sufficient privileges or the business need to see data, then they should be granted access and see the data de-crypted. Otherwise, access control mechanisms (roles, views, VPD, OLS) should kick in and hide the rows from them.
So, for day-to-day business of your database, the wallet needs to be open, so that the database can de-crypt data for users who have been granted to see credit card numbers etc., but then limit access to credit card numbers they are not allowed to see with other measures. There is a little hands-on for TDE and VPD here:

  • Assigning a Task to a User in Worklisting

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where in i need to assign the tasks to a user. The user is not created in the Weblogic LDAP but the users are present in our application rdbms (Oracle).

You have to configure additional authenticator and set the control flag appropriate to authenticate from either RDBMS authenticator or the default authenticator. Once you have done that you will be able to assign tasks to users from either user repositories.
There is a sample DBAuthenticator that you might want to look at here http://dev2dev.bea.com/codelibrary/code/sec_rdbms.jsp

    Hi,
Is their any way to get the users email address column in User Level Analysis report Result..??
Any way or settings to add custom columns or the email address column in the displayed columns of the report ??

    Hi Pranjal
If it's not an option to add the column from the screen you would need to look at customising the scren

In WM is in general no user-specific printing, but SAP offers 2 workarounds see the details in the KBA 1847818 - Unable to assign a specific printer to a user when printing Transfer Orders in WM

  • Applying Support Packs at GRC Access Control 5.3 overall solution level

    Hi All
I recently noticed something at a customer, that GRC Access Controls 5.3 launch pad shows a different SP level e.g. version8, while the components, Compliant User Provisioning shown SP10, RAR shown SP12 etc.
    My questions are;
    1. Should SP updates be applied at a component level i.e. at RAR, CUP, ERM, and SPM level?
    2. Would this customer scenario cause an issue in the future, when for example RAR is sitting on a different SP level than CUP etc.?
    3. If GRC Access Controls launch pad shows SP level/version, does this SP level/version represent the SP level/version that applies to all components?  or does this represent SP level/version of the launchpad only?
    4. Are the Support Packs required to be applied on the ABAP stack as well?
    Thanks
    Odwa

    Hi Odwa,
    Please see my replies below.
    1. Should SP updates be applied at a component level i.e. at RAR, CUP, ERM, and SPM level? NO, Just apply them to the entire GRC-AC from the JSPM
    2. Would this customer scenario cause an issue in the future, when for example RAR is sitting on a different SP level than CUP etc.? Yes, one of these days there is going to be a problem becuas eof this
    3. If GRC Access Controls launch pad shows SP level/version, does this SP level/version represent the SP level/version that applies to all components? or does this represent SP level/version of the launchpad only?
    4. Are the Support Packs required to be applied on the ABAP stack as well? Yes they need to be applied on all the ABAP stacks as well, it is very omportant that support packs remain in sync everywhere.
    Thanks!

  • AC 10.1 Empty screen on User Level analysis

    Hi all,
We have migrated our 5.3 Access Control System to 10.1 and all the post-installation steps are applied. We loaded the user and roles from our ERP System, created rules and generated them for our system. Parameter 1027 – Enable offline risk analysi is set to YES. We also ran the batch job for the risk analysis in Background (transaction GRAC_BATCH_RA). When we run the NWBC -> Access Management -> User Level for our System we get just an empty window – no error message, nothing. It doesn’t make a difference if we run it on action level, permission level with offline data or without, in foreground or background, the result is just an empty window. What might be the issue here ?
    Thanks in advance
    Bernd

    Hello Bernd,
In GRC 10.1 there are a few new things. Can you tell which view you are running the report on? There are three in GRC 10.1; namely - Remediation view, Business View and Technical View. See screen below.
Most problems are on Remediation View (which is selected by default when you start running the RA). For traditional risk analysis report please run on the "Technical View" and see if you get results.
To fix the issue with the remediation view's blank screen please review following notes:
2040204 - Remediation View does not show up while running risk analysis
2035538 - Remediation view in Risk Analysis does not show any data
2099999 - Remediation View screen shows blank while Risk Analysis
    Thanks
