1 - You redesign your project for Object oriented programming, and then have at coding it.
2 - You attempt to use JNI to make those VB2005 generated dll's work, but chances are (and last time I checked), they were not a totally compatible C style interface, so have fun there.
3 - You could attempt to make things into Beans -- but then I've never seen them or most anything work reliably with VB.anything
I've converted many projects from XX to YY and I will tell you right out--option 1 has always been shortest over all and always most reliable.

  • How to Build a DC project that makes use of other Projects??

    Hi all,
    I am trying to build a DC project that makes use of two other projects in my workspace, one is a java class project, the other one is a EJB project where it takes care of database access.
    if i right click on the Application and use "Deploy new Archive and Run" it deploys and runs ok.
    but if i right click on the DC project and use "Development Component -> Build", it gives me a lot of errors like below, as if it doesn't know where my reference projects are, but i have set them into my java build path.
    Can anyone give me some advice?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply, i think i m getting close.
    by making my EJB project a DC project and put the public parts into my Used DC, i reduce the build errors down to 2 (from more than 10).
    maybe i m not making my EJB project into DC properly
    the error msg itself is related to the EJB project:

  • Using Air 2 as a java front end in a project idea

    I watched this video on adobe tv where this guy called java process through air 2's new process invoking methods, and what I wanted to do was something simular. I have a java project that interacts with JBDC to talk to the oracle database, and currently can add, create, remove and bla to tabel entries.
    what I want to know is the HOW DO I, make air talk to java...How do i make air the front end, and java the back end with out using servers and third party applications.

    I think you may have to look at all your jar files in the project including struts jar packages, and watij home page, and verifying they all are java5 compatable. My guess is your error is caused by watij using java reflection to do something (assuming there is nothing in the project or struts using reflection) . You may try creating a small struts project that is java5 compatable and seeing if you can use the watij tool on it without an error. That way, you will isolate problems with watij and struts problem with java5, from who knows how many other problems the major project has with java5. Are you using a server such as tomcat? that has to be compatable with java5 too.

  • Can I make use of project created in myeclipse

    HI ...
    I have done a project in J2EE(JSP) using MYECLIPSE
    editor.
    Now I need to do the same using JSFS .
    So I want to use the same project done in eclipse.
    Is there any way to import directly from eclipse.
    I have used APACHE TOMCAT 4.0 as a web server.
    So plz suggest me what changes to be made if any.
    Regards
    Murthy

    Hi,
    A Project that has developed in another IDE can be imported into creator provided it follows the same application structure as used by the creator.
    Thanks,
    Creator Team.

  • How do make sure the only audio files in my "Audio Files" folder are what are currently used in my project?

    I noticed my hard drive space was getting suspiciously low...
    After doing a little digging I realized that every single audio file (even the ones i have deleted segments for in my projects' arrange windows) are being saved in every one of my projects' "Audio Files" folders.
    One 4 minute song (comprised of 3 guitars, 1 bass, Midi drums, and a syth) has a cooresponding "Audio Files" folder containing over 1,600 Wav files and is consuming 3.0 + Gigs of hard drive space FROM THAT SONG ALONE!
    It seems as if every take i have ever recorded (even If it is no longer represented in my projects's arrange windows) remains saved in these "Audio Files" folders.
    Is there a setting/method to ensure what STAYS on my hard drive is only what is being used in the projects? There seems to be no logical reason for keeping every mistake that is otherwise deleted in the overall projects.
    there must be... because hand-weeding out every file it too daunting a task to be feasible.....
    THANKS!

    Hi
    When you delete a recorded region from the Arrange, Logic gives you an option to 'delete' or 'keep' the underlying audio file. You must've chosen to keep, or you have only been deleting regions which only refer to part of the file, so the whole audio file is still being 'used'.
    One method of cleaning up is to go to the Audio Bin, choose Edit:Select Unused, and then Delete.
    If you (really) want to tidy up further, you could use the Optimise Files function Audio Bin:Audio Files (but I'd suggest that you read up on that function in the manual to fully understand what it will do).

    Hi Leonard,
    Thanks for your kind reply , I am attaching  a sample SchollForm static PDF with this post, where it consist of student details like Name ,lastName ,section etc.
    I like to convert this static PDF in to dynamic PDF means above field should be fillable ,So Using Acrobat SDK is it possible to achieve this above stuff.
    If yes then Please can you give a brief idea how to do this one using Acrobat SDK with java? .
    Thanks in Advance.

  • My University project about java program plagiarism

    I am working on my Final year Project about java program plagiarism.
    i.e. My system finds similarity between two programs by "Source code" to check whether there are plagiarism.
    And now i need plenty of samples and need your help.
    I need two types of sample:
    1. original version - a version written by your own.
    2. plagiarized version - a version which is copied from original version and has modified to conceal that it is a plagiarism.(Try to treat the teacher)
    My two sample programs are:
    1. Find shortest path by Dijkstra's algorithm.
    2. Find the determinant of a N x N matrix.
    Both programs read data from txt file as input.
    Now, I sincerely invite you to help me to make samples
    You can choose to do the version(original or plagiarized) and the program you like.
    After you have finished, please kindly send to [email protected]
    If you decide to do plagiarized version, please download the following sources and modified them.
    http://myweb.polyu.edu.hk/~04954136d/FYP/shortestpath.zip
    http://myweb.polyu.edu.hk/~04954136d/FYP/determinant.zip
    Thank you very much. Looking forwards to your program.

    Ha ha, good try.
    You know, if you had posted whatever you have achieved so far, you might actually have got the help you so obviously need. But now your only chance of getting any help here is to get yourself another username.
    If this were true, your professors would have gladly supplied you with research material in exchange for use of your "system".

  • How to convert keystore (from native android project) to .p12 to use with AIR project?

    Due to the advancements with adobe AIR, I'm really excited to be finishing up a HUGE update of an old project that was originally made with native android.
    But, i've hit a brick wall with 2 issues, and it would be terrible if all the work i've done in AIR was for nothing...
    First, how do I convert the keystore I previously used (from native android project) to .p12 to use with AIR project? (on a mac)
    Second, how do I remove the "air." that gets automatically appended onto the front my android package name? I plan to use a captive runtime, so it's not really needed at all, and I can't upload it like this as an update because it will think it's a different app.
    Please help so I can continue using air for all my projects from now on!

    Thanks for the reply!
    So I'm going through this guide..
    http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/opt-out-air-application-analytics.html
    I followed all the steps, made all the adjustments to the androidmanifest.xml like it asks.
    But when i get to the stap that says
    "Run the following command to create the resource file for the updated AndroidManifest.xml:"
    I run this..
        "/Users/brybam/Documents/eclipse/android-sdk-mac_x86/platform-tools/aapt" package -f -M AndroidManifest.xml -F resources.arsc -I "/Users/brybam/Documents/eclipse/android-sdk-mac_x86/platforms/android-8/android.jar" -S ./res
    But I keep getting the same error
        ./res/layout/expandable_chooser_row.xml:1: error: Error parsing XML: not well-formed (invalid token)
        ./res/layout/expandable_multiple_chooser_row.xml:1: error: Error parsing XML: not well-formed (invalid token)
        ./res/layout/main.xml:1: error: Error parsing XML: not well-formed (invalid token)
        ./res/layout/multiple_file_selection_panel.xml:1: error: Error parsing XML: not well-formed (invalid token)
        ./res/layout/ssl_certificate_warning.xml:1: error: Error parsing XML: not well-formed (invalid token)
    The guide doesn't say anything about these xml files, and im not sure what to do with these ore how to handle them.
    If i go into the res/layout folder, and just delete these (i know theyre for my layout and i need them, but im just saying i deleted them for the sake of a test)
    I was able to get through the rest of the steps in the guide fine, make an apk, and put it on my phone...only to find out the app will crash the moment you try to run it.
    So my question is, does anyone with any experience re-packaging an android application know how I might get around this or take care of the errors with the xml files in the layout folder?
    Thanks!!
    EDIT to note something i've tried:
    So, earlier in the guide they have me use thing thing called the "AXMLPrinter2.jar" to make the AndroidManifest.xml readable so i can edit it.
    I run something like this:
        java -jar "/Users/brybam/Desktop/repackage/AXMLPrinter2.jar" AndroidManifest.xml > AndroidManifest.xml.bk
    This makes a new file "AndroidManifest.xml.bk" and i can edit that.
    So, I was thinking with all of these layout xml files, maybe I could run this "AXMLPrinter2.jar" on them and then edit them. Because right now if you open them they're not human readable, and its hard for me to work on them if they're not...
    But when i do the same command I did on the AndroidManifest.xml i just get blank files...
    I tried
        java -jar "/Users/brybam/Desktop/repackage/AXMLPrinter2.jar" main.xml > main.xml.bk
    Just get a blank file.
    So, i think the issue might be with these just not being re-formatted to human readable.

  • Are AS3 timers make use of multi processor cores?

    Can anyone tell if a Timer in AS3 will force Flash player to create a new Thread internally and so make use of another processor core on a multicore processor?
    To Bernd: I am asking because onFrame I can just blit the prepared in a timer handler function frame. I mean to create a timer running each 1ms and call the emulator code there and only show generated pixels in the ON_ENTER_FRAME handler function. In that way, theoretically, the emulator will use in best case a whole CPU-core. This will most probably not reach the desired performance anyway, but is still an improvement. Still, as I mentioned in my earlier posts, Adobe should think of speeding up the AVM. It is still generally 4-5 slower than Java when using Alchemy. Man, there must be a way to speed up the AVM, or?
    For those interested what I am implementing, look at:
    Sega emulated games in flash

    Hello Boris,
    thanks for taking the time and explaining why your project needs 60 fps. If I understand you correctly those 60 fps are necessary to maintain full audio samples rate. You said your emulator collects sound samples at the frame rate and the reduced sampling rate of 24/60 results in "choppy sound". Are there any other reasons why 60 fps are necessary? The video seems smooth.
    That "choppy sound" was exactly what I was hearing when you sent me the source code of your project. But did you notice that I "solved" (read: "hacked around") the choppy sound problem even at those bad sampling rates? First off, I am not arguing with you about whether you need 60fps, or not. You convinced me that you do need 60fps. I still want to help you solve your problem (it might take a while until you get a FlashPlayer that delivers the performance you need).
    But maybe it is a good time to step back for a moment and share some of the results of your and my performance improvements to your project first. (Please correct me if my numbers are incorrect, or if you disagree with my statements):
    1) Embedding the resources instead of using the URLLoader.
    Your version uses URLLoader in order to load game resources. Embedding the resources instead does not increase the performance. But I find it more elegant and easier to use. Here is how I did it:
    [Embed(source="RESOURCES.BIN", mimeType="application/octet-stream")]
    private var EmbeddedBIN:Class;
    const rom : ByteArray = new EmbeddedBIN;
    2) Sharing ByteArrays between C code and AS code.
    I noticed that your code copied a lot of bytes between video and audio memory buffers on the C side into a ByteArray that you needed in order to call AS functions. I suggested using a technique for sharing ByteArrays between C code and AS code, which I will explain in a separate post.
    The results of this performance optimization were mildly disappointing: the frame rate only notched up by 1-2 fps.
    3) Optimized switch/case for op table calls
    Your C code used a big function table that allows you to map op codes to functions. I wrote a script that converted that function table to a huge switch/case statement that is equivalent to your function table. This performance optimization was a winner. You got an improvement of 30% in performance. I believe the frame rate suddenly jumped to 25fps, which means that you roughly gained 6fps. I talked with Scott (Petersen, the inventor of Alchemy) and he said that function calls in general and function tables are expensive. This may be a weakness within the Alchemy glue code, or in ActionScript. You can work around that weakness by replacing function calls and function tables with switch/case statements.
    4) Using inline assembler.
    I replaced the MemUser class with an inline assembler version  as I proposed in this post:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/660099?tstart=0
    The results were disappointing, there was no noticeable performance gain.
    Now, let me return to my choppy sound hack I mentioned earlier. This is were we enter my "not so perfect world"...
    In order to play custom sound you usually create a sound object and add an EventListener for SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA:
    _sound = new Sound();
    _sound.addEventListener( SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, sampleDataHandler );
    The Flash Player then calls your sampleDataHandler function for retrieving audio samples. The frequency of those requests does not necessarily match with the frequency onFrameEnter is being called. Unfortunately your architecture only gets "tickled" by onFrameEnter, which is currently only being called 25fps. This becomes your bottleneck, because no matter how often the Flash Player asks for more samples, the amount will always be limited by the frame rate. In this architecture you always end up with the FlashPlayer asking for more samples than you have if the frame rate is too low.
    This is bad news. But can't we chat a little bit and assume that the "sample holes" can be filled by using sample neighbors on the time line? In other words, can't we just  stretch the samples? Well, this is what I came up with:
    private function sampleDataHandler(event:SampleDataEvent):void
         if( audioBuffer.length > 0 )
              var L : Number;
              var R : Number;
              //The sound channel is requesting more samples. If it ever runs out then a sound complete message will occur.
              const audioBufferSize : uint = _swc.sega_audioBufferSize();
              /*     minSamples, see http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/events/SampleDataEvent.html
                   Provide between 2048 and 8192 samples to the data property of the SampleDataEvent object.
                   For best performance, provide as many samples as possible. The fewer samples you provide,
                   the more likely it is that clicks and pops will occur during playback. This behavior can
                   differ on various platforms and can occur in various situations - for example, when
                   resizing the browser. You might write code that works on one platform when you provide
                   only 2048 samples, but that same code might not work as well when run on a different platform.
                   If you require the lowest latency possible, consider making the amount of data user-selectable.
              const minSamples : uint = 2048;
              /*     For the maximum sample rate of 44100 we still only get 1470 samples:
                   snd.buffer_size = (rate / vdp_rate) = 44100 / 60 = 735.
                   samples = snd.buffer_size * channels = 735 * 2 = 1470.
                   So we need to stretch the samples until we have at least 2048 samples.
                   stretch = Math.ceil(2048 / (735*2)) = 3.
                   snd.buffer_size * channels * stretch = 735 * 2 * 3 = 2790.
                   Bingo: 2790 > 2048 !
              const stretch : uint = Math.ceil(minSamples / audioBufferSize);
              audioBuffer.position = 0;
              if( stretch == 1 )
                   event.data.writeBytes( audioBuffer );
              else
                   for( var i : uint = 0; i < audioBufferSize; ++i )
                        L = audioBuffer.readFloat();
                        R = audioBuffer.readFloat();
                        for( var k : uint = 0; k < stretch; ++k )
                             event.data.writeFloat(L);
                             event.data.writeFloat(R);
              audioBuffer.position = 0;
    After using that method the sound was not choppy anymore! Even though I did hear a few crackling bits here and there the sound quality improved significantly.
    Please consider this implementation as a workaround until Adobe delivers a FlashPlayer that is 3 times faster :-)
    Best wishes,
    - Bernd

  • How can I use LogOutComponent programatically in a Java iView?

    Hi,
    Can someone point me to the jar file(s) that I need to reference in my portal application project (Java PDK) to use LogOutComponent? Which ones do I need and where can I get them
    I got the class file 'com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead_core.jar' from the Portal server but am not sure if this file is the only one that I need to use to incorporate LogOutComponent in my code.
    Also, can somebody tell me that how can I call this component from my AbstractPortal Component to call logout programatically? I am not using JSPs and would ideally not like to redirect the response to the URL of this component but rather use the object in my Java code. Sample code to help with this would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    - Vik.

    Hi there,
    To log a user out of the Portal I decided to go the route of: UMFactory.getAuthenticator().logout(req, res)
    Code is below.
    Thanks for your replies,
    - Vik.
    <code>
    IAuthentication Authen = UMFactory.getAuthenticator();
    HttpServletRequest req = request.getServletRequest();
    HttpServletResponse res = request.getServletResponse(true);
    //logoff user from Portal
    Authen.logout(req, res);
    </code>

    }OK, My questions are:
    [1]. what I generated XML by XSTream is very complicated, especially for object LocationTest, Can we make it as simple as others such as Person object??
    [2]. after I run it, LocationTest will popup and a red ball in a panel will dsiplay, after I change red ball's position, I hope to persist it to xml, then when I read it back, I hope to get same picture, ie, red ball stiil in old position, How to do that??
    Thanks a lot!!

    Positive feedback? Then please take this in a positive way: if you want to work on persisting Java objects into XML, then GUI programming is irrelevant to that goal. The 1,000 lines of code you posted there appeared to me to have a whole lot of GUI code in it. You should produce a smaller (much smaller) example of what you want to do. Calling the working code from your GUI program should come later.
