Convergence 2.1 displaying image attachments - honoring Content-Disposition
Is it reasonable to assume that when displaying a message from within Convergence 2.1 that images (jpg for example) should be displayed based on the Content-Disposition header value? That is to say that if Content-Disposition is "inline" that the image shall be displayed in the body of the message and that if Content-Disposition is "attachment" the image shall not be visible until it is selected or some other action is taken?
The behavior I observe in Convergence 2.1 is that inline images are show inline and are also duplicated again in a "preview mechanism" at the the end of the message. Attached images are not displayed inline but are also visible in the preview mechanism at the end of the image.
Can this preview behavior be changed to explicitly honor Content-Disposition?
From RFC 2183 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2183.txt)
2.1 The Inline Disposition Type
A bodypart should be marked `inline' if it is intended to be
displayed automatically upon display of the message. Inline
bodyparts should be presented in the order in which they occur,
subject to the normal semantics of multipart messages.
2.2 The Attachment Disposition Type
Bodyparts can be designated `attachment' to indicate that they are
separate from the main body of the mail message, and that their
display should not be automatic, but contingent upon some further
action of the user. The MUA might instead present the user of a
bitmap terminal with an iconic representation of the attachments, or,
on character terminals, with a list of attachments from which the
user could select for viewing or storage.

Yosemite Mail displays image attachments as question marks if attachments also contain a pdf
We have 11 macs running Yosemity in our company and I have the following problem with Mail since upgrading.
If an email is created in Mail and both images (jpg) and pdf's are attached to that mail, the recipient will see the images displayed as question marks, but the pdf show as icon as it should. This is only on mac. Other clients see the attachments properly.
This also appears to be the case when receiving email from others using outlook. When the email contains both images (even in signatures) and pdf files, the images displays as question marks and the pdf display as icon or previewed as normal.
Any suggestions?
Displaying remote images in HTML emails are ticked, but this is attached images, not remote images.
When sending the pdf only - displays correctly
When sending the images only - displays correctlyI found a solution here and it worked for me. It doesn't go back to old messages that are already in your inbox and correct the issue, but any new messages that come in will show images:

Image attachments sent from Cameraroll are displayed inline/embedded - why?
Dear community!
I often send pictures from the camera-roll by email to several email-addresses.
I would like the recipient to recieve the email with the images as attachments, but now, they are displayed as "inline" / "embedded" images in the mail body, instead of file attachments. Some of my recievers are using a CMS system to handle inbound email, and in these cases, when the images are embedded, they will not recieve the attachments correctly in their system.
Is there any settings to toggle this ?
Best regards,
DanielAs with the Mail app on a Mac, the iOS Mail app displays all image attachments as inline or viewed in place, which is not the same as embedded. Photos are sent as true attachments to the email.
Depending on the recipient's email client, a photo attached to an email will appear inline or viewed in place (as with the Mail app on a Mac or with the iOS Mail app), or as an attached file only which must be opened separately to be viewed, which the sending email client has no control over.
When I receive a photo attachment sent by Outlook that appears as an attached file only with the sent email in Outlook, the photo appears inline or viewed in place within the body of the email with the Mail app on my Mac and with the iOS Mail app with my iPhone and iPad, which Outlook has no control over.
You cannot change how an attached photo or image appears in the message body with the iOS Mail app, and an attached photo or image that appears inline or viewed in place is not the same as embedded. The iOS Mail app does not support composing in HTML, which is required to embed an image. -
My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at a low resolution. I have IOS 7.0.4. My phone camera works fine, but any web based photo content from Safari, Yahoo images, Google images, and Flickr all come in pixelated and low res. What's the deal?
It happened to me but later I figured out that cellular signal was not that great and so the Internet was very slow. It took me about 2 minutes to get the full resolution picuture on either of the app you've described. Try to get faster internet either by wifi or good signal and then check.

ClasscastException while displaying image from content selector
Hi,
My requirement is show an image gif file in jsp, through portal.
This problem is specific to 8.1 version.
Created an image type content in BEA repository which i could retrieve from workshop
content preview correctly, with a rule (named filerule).
However, when tried to display the same from a simple jsp logic, got classcast
exception.
Below is the steps i have done.
1. import <%@ page import="com.bea.p13n.content.ContentHelper"%>
2.
<pz:contentSelector rule="filerule" contentHome="<%=ContentHelper.DEF_DOCUMENT_MANAGER_HOME%>"
id="ImageDocs"/>
<es:forEachInArray array="<%=ImageDocs%>" id="anImageDoc" type="com.bea.p13n.content.Content">
<img src="ShowDoc/<cm:printProperty
id="anImageDoc" name="identifier" encode="url"/>"
</es:forEachInArray>

Also, there is no luck with displaying text content from a file, using printDoc
tag. Can some one point me to right resource.Hi panji,
I used 7.0 tag lib, just to make use of "printDoc" tag which is available in 7.0version
only and not in 810. However, i figured out a way to display image using 8.1 (
of course, by using request.getContextPath() + "/ShowBinary" + imagedoc.getPath())
But still, i do not find a way to display a doc type file in jsp, which is my
original problem.
As per the edocs at http://edocs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/core/index.html,
<cm:getProperty node="<%=doc_node%>" name="file"/>
should be able to display a txt file but nothing is getting rendred onto jsp.
( i have created a book type content in the repo. and file attached is of type
txt ).
Can you pls give some clue what i am missing here?
thanks

Hi Ramana, could you just use the ShowPropertyServlet to display the

Display image stored @ content managemenbt
Hi,
this is regarding to displaying image stored @ content management, using <html:img> tag in .jsp
under a node i am uploading two images. (node having two upload options)
in .jsp i am using <html:img> tag to display the images.
i tried to display both the images. But the first image what i upload is not showing. what i upload second is displaying.
pls let me know how to resolve this.
Thanks.You need to access binary property values separately from the node. In 9.2 the API is accessed via INodeManager.getStream(). Alternatively you can take advantage of the tags we have for this as well. Take a look here on edocs:

And this goes on and on and on. Mail won't display any of this stuff correctly. I have HTML enabled in my mail settings. What else can I try to fix this issue?So your Gmail account works fine for you when you just view it on the web through your browser, but you have this problem with attachments when you set up Apple Mail to view your Gmail account, is this correct? Just trying to clarify.
I'm not sure what's going on. I use Apple Mail with my cable ISP's email service and I use Yahoo and Gmail both, but I strictly view them using the web based interface. I've never tried to set up either one to be viewed in Apple Mail so I don't think I can offer much advice.
Correct me if I've wrongly assumed something about your question.

Image attachments on multiple messages
Strange problem:
I recevied several messages with 2 to 5 JPG attachements each from a single person. When viewing the message, the inline images are the same for each message. But if I view a slideshow, or save the attachments, each message has different images!
I forwarded some of the messages to another account and got the same results.
Any idea what might be going on here?In the Raw Source, is there a header preceding the mass of code for each image, of the structure like the following:
------=NextPart_000_000501C751E6.1EA13DC0
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Type: image/jpeg;
name="feb 2 004.jpg"
Content-Disposition: attachment;
filename="feb 2 004.jpg"
I am going to have to leave the house for quite some time, and can only experiment with this later, but it may be that Mail thinks it has the image already saved, locally, and does not need to access the server again, and since your earlier report indicates the names (but not the images) are duplicated between messages, displays the wrong one. I have an IMAP account, and can experiment with this, to try and replicate, when time allows.
Meanwhile, you might change the preference to keep no copies for Offline viewing, quit Mail, relaunch and test -- this does not impact keeping the messages on the server, btw. Open a different message first, than what you have been doing, previously.

Hi,
My requirement is to create a web dynpro application where the first view contains all images stored in ECC along with one button (Display image). When the user clicks on the button Display image then another view should display the image on the screen.
I have created View1 with a table,which display the details of the table STXBITMAPs in it,when i select a row and press a button second view is displayed with a UI conatiner of type IMAGE.
Basiccaly when button on view1 is pressed, I get the value of the TDNAME field via lead_selection method and set this value to a global attribute, whch inturn is copied into second view and bonded to the SOURCE attribute of the UI element.
My problem is , that global attribute is being updated probley and value have been passed to second view..but Image is not being displayed on the screen.
Can anyone help me out in this.
Thanks in advance.
PoojaYou don't necessarily have to move your images from STXBITMAPS to the MIME repository. You can display any image - not just those in the MIME repository, by placing the content in the ICM Cache. This creates a temporary URL for any content. So you just need to read the binary content of the image from STXBITMAPS into a XSTRING variable. From there you can use this code sample to put the content in the cache and generate a URL:
****Create the cached response object that we will insert our content into
data: cached_response type ref to if_http_response.
create object cached_response
type
cl_http_response
exporting
add_c_msg = 1.
* cached_response->set_compression( options = cached_response->IF_HTTP_ENTITY~CO_COMPRESS_IN_ALL_CASES ).
try. " ignore, if compression can not be switched on
call method cached_response->set_compression
exporting
options = cached_response->co_compress_based_on_mime_type
exceptions
others = 1.
catch cx_root.
endtry.
****set the data and the headers
data: l_app_type type string.
data: l_xstring type xstring.
cached_response->set_data( me->gx_content ).
l_app_type = 'image/x-ms-bmp'.
cached_response->set_header_field( name = if_http_header_fields=>content_type
value = l_app_type ).
****Set the Response Status
cached_response->set_status( code = 200 reason = 'OK' ).
****Set the Cache Timeout - 60 seconds - we only need this in the cache
****long enough to build the page and allow the IFrame on the Client to request it.
cached_response->server_cache_expire_rel( expires_rel = i_cache_timeout ).
****Create a unique URL for the object
data: guid type guid_32.
call function 'GUID_CREATE'
importing
ev_guid_32 = guid.
concatenate i_path '/' guid '.' i_format into r_url.
****Cache the URL
cl_http_server=>server_cache_upload( url = r_url
response = cached_response ). -

Display image in standalone AIR application
I have loaded images and like to display image in standalone AIR application. But I cannot get it work. The code as follows:
private function ImageLoader(url:String):void
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
var loader:Loader = new Loader();
loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, loaderComplete);
loader.load(request);
private function loaderComplete(event:Event):void
var scaleFactor:Number = 1;
var uic:UIComponent = new UIComponent();
try
var bmp:Bitmap = event.target.content as Bitmap;
var bmd:BitmapData = bmp.bitmapData; //Bitmap(event.target.content).bitmapData;
var scaledBMD:BitmapData = new BitmapData(400, 400);
var matrix:Matrix = new Matrix();
matrix.scale(scaleFactor, scaleFactor);
scaledBMD.draw(bmd, matrix, null, null, null, true);
uic.x = 40;
uic.y = 40;
uic.addChild(new Bitmap(scaledBMD));
catch (errObject:Error)
trace(errObject.message);Found answer by adding mx:Canvas and add
iconCanvas.addChild(uic);
after
uic.addChild(new Bitmap(scaledBMD));
<mx:Canvas id="iconCanvas" width="10" height="10" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" verticalScrollPolicy="off" x="0" y="0" clipContent="false"/>
Is anyone create "Canvas" by using new Canvas and get it works? example:
var canv:Canvas = new Canvas(...); -
Display image in Smart camera web interface
Hi!
I need some assistance with LV-RT.
What I have succeeded is to enalble the web server on NI 17XX camera and successfully displayed a VI with Image Display on it. I thikn I got the hang of it.
What I would like to know is there another way to display images on the camera web page. I really do not need the whole VI up there just an image and a string with serial number. One way I know would work is to write an image file to the system memory and then embed that image to the web page, but I am not sure that is the best solution as writing process takes time and it is not recommended to write too often to the program memory (am I right?).
So, is there some way to assign some object to say a memory bank and display it (without having to install the runtime maybe) on the page?
Thank you for your attention,
MartHey Mart,
Going back to your original question; are you looking to stream images to a web page from your smart camera or simple see what your camera is seeing when you go to a particular site? Take a look at the sample project below. It is sort of a work around, but it posts an image to a web service. Essentially it snaps an image, saves it, and then posts the saved image to a web service. You will have to change the file path for the image, then build and deploy the webservice from the project view. Also, it would be beneficial to take a look at the webservice build specifications. The webbing to view the snapped image from your local machine would then be viewable from your web browsers at the address : "http://localhost/Stream_Service/ShowImag"
Let us know if you have trouble getting this example working. Also, perhaps another visit to what your end goal is would be helpful. What was it that you had working?
Hope this helps
