Conversion string

hi
I am new in Abap and I have a little problem: I set an input field on my screen type string. When I process the text in it in PAI, i see the text has been converted to lower case. In debug I see that when the PAI start the text has already been converted in upper case, so I realize that a default conversion rule has been applied. Is there a way to tell that for a field there is no need to apply a conversion rule? Or a conversion that do not change lower to upper?
I see that for parameter there is syntax "LOWER" to let unchanged the case of the parameter, but I can't believe there is no way to do it with a simple input field.
Thanks
Gabriele

  • File content conversion: String with commas to CSV

    Hi Experts,
    I have the following structure
    DATA (1..n)
    ...Result (1..1)
    The Result field contains a string like below
    a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j
    How do I put this into File Content Conversion when I want the receiver to be a CSV file? One cell per letter.
    Thanks in advance.

    Outbound: you could convert your flat file to xml at first. Make the necessary mapping to the destination structur.

  • Conversion string from a system unit to another

    Hi all i've a problem
    i'm talking with an oscilloscope.
    when i ask it some information like X or Y scale, it answers me a string (like 0.0016 to indicate 1.6m or 0.0000005 to indicate 500n).
    I'm finding difficulties because the first string to number conversion cut me the number so i can't go on....
    I want 2 number indicators:
    1)  with the value with 3 digits;
    2)  unit as an integer to connect to a ring array of constants (filled like mVolt,nVolt,pVolt ecc)
    Can you help me?

  • Conversation String to UTF-8 and visa versa

    I have a problem: From an IBM Host via CICS i get
    the german letters, for example : "" = x'81' x'94' x'84'. In a C program (with JNI) i use the method NewStringUTF to convert this characters to an JavaString. The result seems to be correct. I can see the exact german characters in Swing- und AWT components..
    Then, versa to convert this String back to the original HostCodes with the method GetStringUTFChars in the same C programm, i get 2 unknown, confused Bytes for the 1 correct Byte i expected. This effect takes place only at the special german characters !!!!
    Who can help?

    Having been through these kinds of problems a few times, I MAY be able to point you in the right direction.
    1. You need to be VERY sure what you are seeing at each stage of the conversion. DON'T TRUST ANY DISPLAYS EXCEPT HEX DISPLAYS.
    2. If you are operating on a Windows machine, you might investigate OEMTOChar and CharToOEM. I mention this because I suspect that your original encoding is not UTF-8, and so NewStringUTF is doing something strange.

  • Conversion from string "" to type 'Double' is not valid

    We're using BPC 7.5 MS and on patch level 111.02
    There's two front-end servers and one back-end.  we have about 100 users but concurrency is likely in the 50 range.
    We've been running extremely well for about 4 years but are now starting to run into problems.
    There are about 5-6 applications but none greater than 10 million records.  We optimize regularly.
    However over the past two months admin processes seem to take a lot longer.  Optimization now times out after about 1.25 hours and none used to take greater than 15 minutes.
    Today after processing dimensions we checked the application status and we were not able to check if it was available or not.  We got a pop up box saying
    conversion from string "" to type 'Double' is not valid
    I've processed dimensions and applications since and still this error persists.
    We're attempting a reboot to see if that helps but I've never seen this before and in combination with the slower admin processing I'm wondering if there's something drastic going to happen.
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    for the poor performances you have to check the guides about performance on bpc if you have scheduled regurarly optimize during day and night (just verify that never factwb reach 50.000 and fac2 500.000 records) maybe you need to change some parameter on the server as MaxThreads.
    For the conversion string error on admin console see please this note 1803092 - Set application set status error

  • Can no longer see messages in public folders in Outlook (2010) conversation view

    (originally posted this under MS Community outlook discussion and it was suggested I post it here):
    Hello:
    I believe this may be related to a recent update, but previously I could see messages from public folders in my conversation view.  Now, I am only able to see messages in private folders (including sent items).
    I have the cached exchange mode on.
    I loved the conversation view because I could move e-mails out of my inbox to public folders (on our company server) to keep my inbox under required size limits, but still have easy access to e-mails within the conversation string.  That view in my
    opinion was the best upgrade to Outlook when it first came out.  Now it's virtually useless for me again.
    If there's something i can change to get those messages re-appearing again I'd really love to know what I can do, it was really useful for me.
    Thanks in advance to any who reply!

    Hi,
    Based on the descrtiption, I know that there is no emails exist in public folder when using conversation view in Outlook after installing update.
    1. I suggest use OWA to check whether emails exist in public folder when using Conversation View. If it works well, it seems an issue on the Outlook client side.
    2. Please check the connectivity between Outlook and Public Folder.
    3. I suggest disable conversation view for test to verify whether emails appear in public folder. If the emails appear, it seems an issue on Outlook Conversation View.
    4. I also suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins. Try to re-create profile to refresh the caches.
    Thanks

  • JMS Adapter module content conversion

    Hi,
    I'm developing a module for the jms adapter(sender). My requirement is to parse the XI message(text) using some XML parsing api and do some formatting, logic etc and to make the jms adapter create a xml file with the processed information. Jms File Content Conversion does not suit our requirement and thats the reason we are trying this option.
    My understanding is: Access the  payload in the "process" method of the local ejb, apply XML parsing using JDOM etc, make a xml which should be the output of the jms adapter. This xml will be the xml with my user defined tag elements after content conversion. Can i form this xml and assign to the inputModuleData? Will the jms adapter use this string to create the xml and send to IS? Are there any other parameters to be set or processes to be done?
    Also in which sequence should I put my adapter module in communication channel.
    ================================================
    My code snippet:
    public ModuleData process(ModuleContext moduleContext, ModuleData inputModuleData)
            throws ModuleException
              Object obj = null; // Handler to get Principle data
              Message msg = null; // Handler to get Message object
            try
                   obj = inputModuleData.getPrincipalData();
                   msg = (Message)obj;
                   AuditMessageKey amk = new AuditMessageKey(msg.getMessageId(),AuditDirection.INBOUND);
                   Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk, AuditLogStatus.SUCCESS,"sample: Inside sample Module---efore reading payload");
                   try
                        XMLPayload xmlpayload = msg.getDocument();
                        String messageStr = xmlpayload.getText();
                        String inputStr = null;
                        String tags[] = new String[2];
                        String values[] = new String[2];
                        Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk, AuditLogStatus.SUCCESS,"sample: Inside sample Module---before content conversion");

    String tagvalue2 = messageStr.substring(messageStr.indexOf("'"), messageStr.lastindexOf("ENDING");
                             tags[0] = "tag1";
                             tags[1] = "tag2";
                             values[0] = tagvalue1 ;
                             values[1] = tagvalue2 ;
                             Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk, AuditLogStatus.SUCCESS,"sample: Inside sample Module---after content conversion");

                                  e = xmldoc.createElementNS(null, tags<i>);
                                  n = xmldoc.createTextNode(values<i>);
                                  e.appendChild(n);
                                  root.appendChild(e);
                             Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk, AuditLogStatus.SUCCESS,"sample: Inside sample Module---before dom creation");
                             DOMSource domSource = new DOMSource(xmldoc);
                             ByteArrayOutputStream myBytes = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
                             Result dest = new StreamResult(myBytes);
                             TransformerFactory tf = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
                             Transformer serializer = tf.newTransformer();
                             serializer.setOutputProperty("indent", "yes");
                             serializer.transform(domSource, dest);
                             Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk, AuditLogStatus.SUCCESS,"sample: Inside sample Module---before setting principal data");
                             byte[] docContent = myBytes.toByteArray();
                             if (docContent != null) {
                             xmlpayload.setContent(docContent);
                             inputModuleData.setPrincipalData(msg);
                             Audit.addAuditLogEntry(amk, AuditLogStatus.SUCCESS,"sample: Inside sample Module---after setting principal data");
                   catch(ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
                   catch(StringIndexOutOfBoundsException e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
                   catch(TransformerException e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
                   catch(Exception e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
            catch(Exception e)
                ModuleException me = new ModuleException(e);
                throw me;
            return inputModuleData;

    This is for sender channel. The doubt in adapter module is in the process block how will I get the main data being read by the jms adapter from the text file.As I am reading text file from websphere MQ, the content of the text file can be obtained thru xmlpayload.getText() or is there any other way.
    obj = inputModuleData.getPrincipalData();
    msg = (Message)obj;
    XMLPayload xmlpayload = msg.getDocument();
    String messageStr = xmlpayload.getText();
    At present I am using my adapter module before call sap adapter, but before sap adapter there are two other modules(toBinary and to Xmb), so shld I place it before both or after both the modules.
    Thanx in advance

  • Converting string to float

    I have a decimal string "122339994" which i am trying to convert to float using Float.parseFloat. This results in incorrect value of 1.22339992E8.
    I thought for floats precsision comes into effect after decimal places.
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String floatString = "122339994";
    float floatNumber = Float.parseFloat(floatString);
    System.out.println("Float is "+floatNumber+". Now double "+Double.valueOf(floatString));
    }

    See this API
    [Java2SE Float|http://download-llnw.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/Float.html#valueOf%28java.lang.String%29]
    Note that trailing format specifiers, specifiers that determine the type of a floating-point literal (1.0f is a float value; 1.0d is a double value), do not influence the results of this method. In other words, the numerical value of the input string is converted directly to the target floating-point type. In general, the two-step sequence of conversions, string to double followed by double to float, is not equivalent to converting a string directly to float. For example, if first converted to an intermediate double and then to float, the string
    "1.00000017881393421514957253748434595763683319091796875001d"
    results in the float value 1.0000002f; if the string is converted directly to float, 1.0000001f results.
    Its better to see the Java APIs first for any information, we will get almost all the information we need from APIs

  • Why won't Messages and Calendar sync/load properly?

    Messages and Calendar do not sync properly between my (new) MacBook Pro and my iPod Touch (4th Gen). Messages keep displaying out of order on my MacBook, and usually one or two are missing. They are perfectly fine on my iPod, no matter which device I send them from. What gives? Every message I send from my MacBook shows up on on my iPod, but my MacBook is messed up. Calendars I create on my MacBook also don't display right on my iPod. I end up with two entries for the same thing, and deleting doesn't work unless I mess around with it for a while. Also, the calendar froze today (on MacBook) and was stuck in September when I opened it.
    My software, on both devices, is completely up to date. So what is going on with Messages and Calendar? Is it a MacBook issue or an iCloud issue? I don't see how it can be an iCloud issue because my iPod runs off the same iCloud account and is perfectly fine. Only my MacBook seems to be having issues. It's brand new, thoroughly updated, and I'm not an idiot so I really don't think the issues are anything I've done. It's annoying and frustrating because it will tell me I have a new message but when I open Messages it automatically opens to many days previous in the conversation string, and when I manage to scroll down to the bottom the new message isn't there (because my messages are out of order).
    Seriously annoying issue. I bought a MacBook so that my devices would SYNC and I could have a STREAMLINED network of gadgets and apps. Could have stayed with Windows if syncing wasn't going to work anyway. Certainly would have been cheaper!!

    Like the previous poster indicated: try to find a minimal example that shows the error your experiencing.
    One thing that seems bogus is the Server.listener() method. For one thing, it can increment x even if no new connection has been established (e.g., x will be incremented if an exception is caught).

  • ABAP Mapping: ostream with multiple sibling tags (ixml_document_fragment ?)

    Hallo,
    during ABAP Mapping I have the following problem:
    I want to return a message to XI Java stack in the following format:
    <?xml version="1.0"?><ns0:MT_FILE_PAXAR_INB xmlns:ns0="http://logimoda.com/ns_paxar">
    <Recordset>
    [... child tags which values are retrieved from fields of each record of an internal table]
    </Recordset>
    </ns0:MT_FILE_PAXAR_INB>
    I want n <Recordset>, one for each record of the internal table "t_etichette", which is populated by:
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZXI_ETICHETTE_COMPOSIZIONE_PEZ'
    Now, i'm not able to append n sibling <Recordset>, only one is appended to parent <ns0:MT_FILE_PAXAR_INB>.
    I guess the solution is ixml_document_fragment or using someway an iteration, but I don't know how...
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks all in advance:)

  • Having trouble using applescript to save pdf as excel spreadsheet

    I have been trying to use applescript to create an automator action to convert some downloaded PDF's to .xlsx format.  After reviewing a good bit of the SDK documentation, I came up with the following scripting:
    tell application "Adobe Acrobat Pro"
                                  open theFile
                                  save front document to file theNewFile using conversion "com.adobe.acrobat.xlsx"
      close front document
    end tell
    This script works fine when I use the "com.adobe.acrobat.plain-text" conversion or the png or jpeg conversion. However, I cannot get it to work with "com.adobe.acrobat.xlsx" or "com.adobe.acrobat.spreadsheet".  Note that although I didn't copy the code here that sets theNewFile variable, I have been changing it to the appropriate file extension when changing conversion strings.
    When I execute the script using one of the problem conversion strings, Acrobat opens the file successfully, but it just sits there, as if it does not understand the save command at all.
    I guess I should mention that the whole goal here is to actually convert the PDF's to CSV eventually.  The next step was going to be to open the file in Excel and save as CSV.  If anyone knows a *free* way to go straight from PDF to CSV using Applescript/Automator without having to go through all these other programs, I would be very appreciative for the suggestion.  This conversion is just a small part of a very lengthy workflow but it is causing me the most trouble.

    Hello Jonathan,
    Ok i have only one final question.
    Do you know how to work in photoshop, don't you? Ok i think yes.
    Well i have 2 ways to do that, i did one action from photoshop that will get the image inside folder and will convert this image in pdf. Abouve the line of script
    that you have to attach to folder action and the action for Photoshop.
    About the action for Photoshop give me your email address and I send you, or do it your self. You have to do this: open one image in JPG, go to action, go new set, put your name of set, put the name of action if you like you can change the name, go print with preview, print and set save as PDF close your file and stop the action.
    Now that you have to do is put all your files inside your folder and leave the Photoshop do it for you, ok?
    Good Luck
