Convert Illustrator vectors to *.csh file to use in Photoshop as brushes?

Hi, everyone:
Can *.ai vector shapes (drawn in Illustrator) be saved as a *.csh file to use in Photoshop as a brush? How do you save Illustrator (*.ai) files as *.csh files? Do you need a plug in? Is one available?
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried copy and pasting the vector image to photoshop and let photoshop create the brush?

Seems to be ok especially if you enlarge the object before you copy it into photoshop.
I think what you are pasting (never bothered to try this) is just the screen preview, hence the need to enlarge. Why would you waste your time doing that instead of exporting to a high-res PDF?

i m working on java chat server build on swing applet. As it is chat server, it is divided into two parts, one is server application and other is client application. I want to run this server app on the client server and the basic thing with this site is that it is running on .net platform(Microsoft). and the other app ll running on the client machine or end user. Now the problem is that this site would run only if the server app ll be run on server. This server app ll open the socket of server, which ll listen the request of the user...... So, the requirement is to convert this java sever class file into dll file and register this dll file with the IIS server.So, It run and stop with the IIS server.

first i ve made the jar file of this class
jar cvf chatServer.jar chatServer.classafter getting the jar chatServer.jar. I ve opened the .net dos prompt and
type this command which ll make dll file automatically....

I cant get the problem origin from where it is comming, when i tried to convert it into .dll file it shown an error that, it did not recongnized the method in first class
public static void chatServerReadThread.start() method
is not recognized by .net dos prompt commnad. But when i omit this method it gets created the .dll file. This start method is basically the default method of thread class that run the thread from the same class..
By vewing the code u can visulize the thing,, i ve marked the code from where the error is comming.
Plz do it as soon as possible, i ll waiting for ur reply......

How to convert iDVD theme to .mov file. for use in FCP?

I would like to use the Baby Mobile iDVD theme as a clip in a movie to be created on FCP. I dropped my pics in the iDVD project with the Baby Mobile theme and put in a green background so I could later key out the background and replace it with a different background. I deleted the title and added a short movie to the menu. Because I don't want to use the theme as a DVD menu, I made the menu button the same color as the green background.
I then burned the DVD. Next I ripped the DVD using MactheRipper to give me the Video TS folder. I then used Handbrake to convert the VOB files to Mpeg4. Unfortunately, Handbrake only converted the 10 second movie I put in iDVD and not the Baby Mobile iDVD theme.
Any ideas out there to help me use the iDVD menu theme as a standalone clip in a movie?
I did find the source material of the theme in the Mobile.pox folder; it contains the 2 .mov files with alpha channels but I would rather not go through the time consuming process of keying in the movements and size of my pics to match the Mobile. It would take too much time and I don't know how successful it would be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Options:
-If you have FCS2, you can use Motion to track the points, thus saving you lots of keyframing time in FCP.
-You can use MPEG Streamclip to rip the DVD (I believe it can find the menu files)
-You can get a screen capture program such as Snapz X Pro to screen capture it.
-As it encodes the media in iDVD's burning process, you can find where it stores the temporary copy of the MPEG2 that it creates, and snag that file before it finishes the burn and deletes it.
NOTE: I've never tried option 4, nor do I know if it will work. I just came up with it.

I am afraid you may lose some of the features by going through EPS, depending on your artwork.
It may be worth trying the relevant among these (especially 1) - 4), hopefully not 6)):
You may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when it is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer;
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Altho im not sure if it will work with if the songs are not DRM free.

Using my Photoshoped photo in PowerPoint

I finished editing my first photo and now I want to use is in PowerPoint. PowerPoint says "an error occured while inserting this file." The file is a .psd. Thank you!

The Photoshop PSD file is used by Photoshop, and won't be understood by PowerPoint. Think of the PSD file as you work area, the place you create and edit and build your creation. Then, when you are done, you save it in a format that other programs can use. Like this:
Finish and save your work in Photoshop
From the Photoshop File menu, select Save As
You'll see a drop down box that lets you pick the "Save as type", pick PNG or JPEG (others will work too, but those two are usually very safe choices)
Click the Save button
You may be prompted with options about layers or compression or other file type specific settings, you can ignore than and just accept the default and click OK
You'll then have a second file, named the same as your Photoshop file, but of a different file type, and that's the file you'll insert into PowerPoint
One last note. If you then go back to Photoshop to make changes to your original PSD file, you'll need to go through the Save As steps again.

PSD File to Illustrator Vector - How To?

Hello all,
I have searched the web far and wide and can't seem to find any sufficient answer to the issue I'm having, which stems the following;
I've created a PSD file in Photoshop with some layers (stock images I've bought and some text), and I'm looking to get the design printed on a tshirt. I am not very familiar with Illustrator, and the print company would like the files to be vector images, however, I'm not quite sure how to achieve this in order to get the quality they're looking for. I thought the Live Trace option would be sufficient (I'm using CS6), and became quite giddy thinking it would be that easy (I should have known better), but the result is a grainy, crappy rendition of my PSD file (the original creation was a flyer for the event, and I took some elements from that flyer to turn into a tshirt). My stock photos are of high quality (300dpi and about 8x10" in size), so I'm boggled as to why the trace feature turned them into poorly drawn cartoon characters.
I fear the answer would be I need to draw these stock photos out in Illustrator, but honestly, that's not feasible for me since I'm not very handy with the pen tool, nor do I have the time at the moment to sit down and learn all the ins and outs of this tool. I've seen other tutorials clearly explaining how to turn rasterized text into a vector file in Illistrator, which is easy enough, but it not the highlight of my issue since I'm more concerned about the images themselves.
Is the only way to turn my design into a vector is to redraw these stock photos with the pen tool in Illustrator?
Should I have just used Illustrator to begin with to create my flyer and the tshirt design (does this also affect my stock photos or would I still be in the same boat)?

Here is a portion of the image that was sent back to me. The original file is 300dpi, but this one just looks awful compared to the original (non-vector) image.

I did use the high quality trace option which appeared to work great, but after having this returned to me I've been wondering where the heck I went wrong. I checked my setting in AI to make sure I had everything set for maximum quality, so it makes me wonder if I didn't import/place the file correctly since, as you mentioned, the high quality trace feature should have replicated the design quite nicely.

I have the same problem in Mavericks, but I'd say, more important, with QuickLook.
Indeed Quicklook can't read avi movies anymore. Actually it always been the case, but with Perian we were able to fix it. The problem is that Perian is no longer available for Mac OS 10.9....
I'd assume that our only hope is Apple themselves... It would be nice from Apple to creat an add-on for quicklook to be able to preview the avi movies.
In regards with quicktime, you can download QuickTime 7 here:

and ask all the .avi movies to be played by QuickTime 7 and not QuickTime X (included into Mac OS).

iTunes cannot convert protected WMA tracks. There may also be problems if it can't get full access permissions. What exactly are you trying to do when the error occurs?
