Convert to 128kbps space calculated incorrectly

I've recently re-copied all my CDs up to 320K VBR and have selected the 128kbps option in iTunes 10.1
When I last synch'd my iPhone it told me I would have about 8GB left and at the end of the sync it confirmed I had 8GB free space.
I reset the iPhone and checked again...this time it says 2.5 GB free and if I UNCHECK the option to convert high bitrates to 128K, the free space goes UP to 8.1GB again.
I left the 128k option ticked (2.5GB remaining) and hit sync again...the space increased to 8.1 GB until the sync copied a single song over then i decreased to 2.5GB free again.
Next sync says 8.1GB free.
iPhone is running 4.2.1
Anybody know what's going on?

Well that bites doesn't it?
I've done a little bit of reading and I now have a theory as to why this is. iTunes does this for mobile phones too, and I think it's because mobile phones and the Shuffle cannot play all formats (the Shuffle cannot play Apple Lossless files) so iTunes includes this option for them. It seems a bit of an oversight not to have it for other iPods too.

  • Discount calculated incorrectly - Need help

    Hi,
We are facing a unusual issue in pricing . We have a volume discount condition type configued and the following Base scale assigned . Scale UOM is EA.
    0.000     1.000-     %
    5.000     2.000-     %
    10.000     3.000-     %
Now, when we enter a product with quanity 5 eaches, we expect the discount to be 2%, but we are getting 1%. When we analyzed the order we observed in the details of the condition type that the value "Formatted scale base value" is calculated as 4.968  and so the discount  is  1%.
But we dont know where this this base value is being calculated and why it calculated incorrectly.  we are on CRM 7.0  Any ideas?

    Hi Michael,
Scale basis formula  field on condition type is blank. We just specified the scale  base type as quantity, Scale type A ( Base-scale ), MAX No. Dimensions  = 1,  UOM as EA.
yes there is UOM conversion happening as the base UOM of product is CS and conversion is 72 EA = 1 CS.
In the details of conditon type ( on order ) it is showing Dec places scale base val= 3  and Formatted scale base val = 4.968. So it looks like  the quantity 5 EA is converted to 5/72 CS ( =0.0694444444444444) and truncated to 3 decimals (= 0.069) and again converted to eaches ( 0.069*72 = 4.968 ) .
But why is this happening?  there is no provision to supply number of decimals for scale base. then from where is it picking 3?  and also we have not used any formula to calculate scale base val. Is this a bug or i missed any config?
    All Inputs are  appreciated. Thanks.

  • The net price is calculated incorrectly for service items in contracts

The net price is calculated incorrectly for service items. Iu2019m creating a contract for services, transaction ME31K (without service master). At the services level Iu2019m adding u201CConditions Supplementsu201D:
    -     PRS (gross price) =1000 EUR
    -     Z999 (discount) = -100 EUR
    -     ZPRS (cost) = 1500 EUR
The gross price is calculated correctly = 2400. My problem is with the net price, with this example the net price is just 1500 this means that is just considering the condition ZPRS.
Where can I customize the net price determination to considerer all price conditions?
    Thanks in adavnced

    Hi,
In the service industries area, SAP uses two calculation schemata,
MS0001 for contract/master services (Z999 must be added to MS0001) and otherwise, MS0000. Assignment
occurs according to the Customizing settings defined under
'Materials Management -> External Services Management -> Maintain
Conditions for Services -> Conditions: Schema for Services'. If you want
to use another calculation schema for contract/master services, you must
define this with an own entry under Maintain Conditions for Services ->
Variable Calculation Schema for Services', for example, in the form 'K
WK value contract MSxxxx service schema', if a corresponding schema
    MSxxxx has been defined first.
If Z999 is a header discount for the service outline level, it must be added to MS0002.
Like the standard  discount condition type ZA00 the Z999 must have Cond. class   A  for Discount or surcharge in the condition type setting in the customizing, and no access sequence should be assigned to it.
Please read the notes 798798 and 353482.

  • Why is the centroid calculating incorrectly?

I have an image which is a signed int16 with no mask hooked up (externally masked). The IMAQ centroid vi is reporting the center of the ROI instead of providing the answer to the centroid. Why is it doing this?
    Solved!

You have a perfect image. The centroid calculation works perfectly with a simulated Guassian beam. It is when a real image from a camera is used that the centroid is calculated incorrectly...
In general Centroid is pretty simple and straight forward operation - this should be independent from the image's content.
If you get feeling that in some cases this computes incorrectly, then you can compute it with pure LabVIEW primitives something like that:
In comparison with IMAQ this will be a bit slow, but you will check that IMAQ centroid calculated correctly or not for your images.

  • Available disc space is incorrect

I think something is wrong with my MBP (2011, Mac OSX 10.7.5).
It seems to be working ok but I think the available disc space is incorrect.
In the Finder it says '233,65 gb available', in Disk Utility and About This Mac it says '77,47 GB available'. There's no way that I have 233 GB available space because my harddisk (320 GB) is filled with pictures and audio. Why is the Finder saying this? Does this have something to do with the local backups (77+156=233)?
I did not erase any large files, nor did I disable the local backups in the terminal. Can anyone tell me if something is wrong with my harddisk? I rebooted but the number is still the same.

Thanks for your input, Ogelthorpe. I appreciate it!
I do believe though that it has something to do with the local backups. The local backups are 125 GB now, the available disc space according to 'about this mac' has gone up to 107 GB, and finder window says the available disc space is now 232 GB (and again: 125 + 107 = 232).
Today I did not move any files or delete any files, in fact, I did not use my Mac for about 8 hours. So how did the available disc space go up from 77 GB (last night) to 125 GB when I did not delete / change anything?
It might have something to do with the fact that a few days ago I downloaded about 50 GB's, I copied it to an external harddrive and deleted the files from my Mac then. Perhaps 'versions' of those files (about 1,2 GB each) still exist in the local backups.
Although I'm still intrigued by how everything works I decided to l let it go and stop worrying about it. Thanks again.

  • Slightly OT: Video Disk Space Calculator app now available

    Hi all,
I'm an FCP editor who works in a lot of different codecs, so I quite often need to know the disk space needed for a length of footage in a certain one. I know there are a few apps (widgets I think) that do this, but I disable Dashboard and haven't found any others I like.
As a former programmer by trade, I figured this was a good reason to try learning Cocoa programming.. So, as my first project, I present Video Disk Space Calculator (OSX 10.3 and above, 49kb zip file).
It's a tiny little app that does two things - calculates hard drive space based on codec/length of footage, and displays/prints out a table of codecs and their data rates. It's completely free of course. I would REALLY appreciate feedback, I figure by correcting issues and adding features I'll learn more about Cocoa programming...

how about something similar for bitrates and various
compression methods? there are a few calculators out
there but i don't like any of them.
    Thanks, glad it is useful.
I'll keep the bitrate and compression stuff in mind for Version 2 in the future. It's a good idea.

  • Automatically Convert to 128kbps AAC on Sync with Nano?

Hello, my sister owns an iPod Shuffle and I own an iPod nano. On her Shuffle she has the option to Automatically Convert Higher Bitrate Songs to 128kbps AAC when she syncs. Is it possible to have this option on the nano? I don't see it? This would be very helpful as right now I have all my songs ripped off CDs twice, once in Apple Lossless format for playing on my computer, and once at 128kbps AAC to sync to my iPod, which makes for a rather messy library and wastes hard drive space! I find it hard to believe they would not have this option on the more expensive nano.

• Question about converting to 128kbps for iphone 4

good day. i was wondering about the 'convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps' option. i always import my bought cd's in apple lossless, and i guess the music i buy on itunes is 256, so that said i have a few playlists on my 16gb iphone 4 and with all the other stuff on there i still have 9gb's free. would it be worth it to me to convert the songs to 128kbps? will the sound be noticeably worse? i have what are considered really good headphones as well so how will that work out as well? thanks for any help. really wondering about the sound quality in case i end up using more of my memory with pics and apps in the future.

would it be worth it to me to convert the songs to 128kbps? will the sound be noticeably worse?
On the iPhone while moving around, sitting in an office, doing stuff, you will likely not notice any difference.
Perhaps if you sit in a very quiet room and really concentrate on listening, you may notice very minor differnece in quality.
That option is to save space on the iDevice. If you have plenty, don't use it.
Note that when you use this option on the Summary screen in iTunes, it only converts when adding to the iPhone.
Your library is not changed at all.

  • HT1351 syncing and converting to 128kbps

I tried to sync my music to my iphone and I got a message saying I need an extra 1.38 gb to download the music.  I used the options to convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps and got more space - a significant amount.  How does converting the songs to 128kbps affect the music?

  • Converting a single space between sentences with two spaces.

    Hi,
I'd like to convert all single whitespaces after a sentence to two whitespaces, e.g. This is a sentence! The next sentence is separated by two spaces. This would result in the conventional style of two spaces between sentences, unlike html style. I want to find either a .,?, or ! followed by one whitespace, followed by a capital letter, so: "[.|?|!] [A-Z]". Then I want to just replace this with the same thing except two spaces. If I do this:
                        textString = textString.replaceAll(". [A-Z]", ". [A-Z]");
it finds these matches, but it literally prints out these:
    How about DeLillo[.|?|!] [A-Z] still haven't read him[.|?|!] [A-Z]r Saul Bellow[.|?|!] [A-Z] told you I like Herzog a lot...maybe
    thanks for your help!
    -Won

You don't want to add a space if there is already a second space. The following will turn any number of spaces after the sentence into two spaces. Note if the whitespaces include a \n\n (paragraph mark) it will turn everything into one long paragraph.
    replaceAll("([\\.\\?!])\\s+", "$1  ");

  • A/R Credit Memo Gross Profit calculated incorrectly

My client created an A/R Credit Memo by opening an A/R Invoice and copying to the A/R Credit Memo.  They deleted all the rows in the credit memo, changed the type to Service, typed a description, added the correct G/L account, and entered the total amount.  The controller of the company looked at the Sales Analysis for the Business Partner by clicking on the graphic icon on the BP form.  He noticed the Gross Profit for the above credit memo showed the exact gross profit as the original invoice from which it was copied, except the value was negative.  The original gross profit was -$73,777 so the Sales Analysis report was significantly incorrect.  I think this is a bug in how the gross profit was calculated on the credit memo.  Am I correct?

    Gordon,
I totally agree with you.  I told them to not do this any more.
I was just wondering if maybe the calculation should be been performed using the final numbers on the Credit Memo instead of using numbers from the original invoice.  Should I raise this issue to SAP?

  • After upgrading to Snow Leopard, free disk space calculation seems off.

So, I have a MacBook Pro 13". I bought it in June, so it came with Leopard. I ordered it with a 500GB hard drive, which actually came out to 465GB (as expected). However, since upgrading to Snow Leopard, the maximum disk space now reads 500.11GB, as opposed to 465GB. This makes zero sense to me. In Boot Camp, my disk reads 115GB, which is what I set it up to, but when viewing the size from OSX it says 124GB.
Basically, I'm wondering what this inconsistency is being caused by, as I could see some potential problems partitioning in the future with space that isn't actually there.

There's been a change in the calculations. Conversion from Base2 to Base10 arithmetic. See How Mac OS X reports drive capacity.
The info reported by Boot Camp remains in the original Base2, but others have reported that Boot Camp's computation is not accurate.
It is simply an arithmetic difference since a 500 GB drive in Base 10 is the same as a 465 GB drive in Base 2. But if you make a 100 GB partition using Disk Utility then it would be approximately a 93 GB partition in Base 2. But the total number of bytes is approximately the same.

Since I upgraded to 9.1 I have been trying to convert songs to 128kbps but when I do the process always fails saying that "[song name] cannot be read or written". It has not been the same song twice in a row, so is this a problem with iTunes or a problems with my music files or both?

    Hi aaront56218794,
I've checked your account: You have an ExportPDF subscription, which doesn't include the capability of exporting to PowerPoint format. Adobe PDF Pack does include that option, so if you'd like to change your subscription to PDF Pack, we can help with that (there is a difference in cost: http://cloud.acrobat.com).

  • DPM 2012 R2- Drive Space Calculator Issue

I am in the beginning stages of implementing DPM 2012 within our organization. I have setup the software, configured some test backups, and proved that we can restore files and servers. I have approval to take this into production, but I'm having an issue
with calculating the drive space we will need for short-term retention.
I have attempted to use all of the various calculators to help determine how much drive space I need, but none of them accurately calculate what we need for our installation type. All of the calculators base their formula on 5 recovery points a day for each
protection group member. This would be more than we would ever configure for any member.
So, if I have one source that I am backing up one day per week, with one recovery point on that day, and want to retain that recovery point for 30 days, how would I calculate the needed drive space to satisfy that configuration?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You could use the tool that are mentioned. If you would like to calculate for a specific data source please hava a look at this link for the formulas that DPM uses.
