Converting SCOM Management Packs to excel format

Hi All,
How to convert Management Packs (sealed/unsealed) to MS Excel format?
I know about MP Viewer and MP Author tools which open up the MP and shows its rules/monitors/discoveries/workflows/etc.
But I have some customers who first wish to see the MP in excel formats.
Thanks, S K Agrawal

Hi,
What additional information would you like to see (the export to excel option in MP viewer is relativley comprehensive)?

  • MBAM 2.5 SCOM Management Pack

    With the newest release of MBAM 2.5 is there a SCOM management pack?
    Or will the original version 1 that has been released work with this?

    This question was asked shortly after 2.0 came out
    in this thread, and the recommendation was to use the MPs for CM, SQL, and IIS... or to create your own custom MP.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
    We're starting to monitor a small Service Manager 2012 R2 installation with SCOM 2012 R2.

  • SCOM management packs upgrade

    Hi,
    When we upgrade a management pack in SCOM e.g. the OS management packs, Does it retains the overrides applied on rules and monitors in the previous version or we had to apply the overrides again on the latest imported management pack? Please advice.
    Thanks
    Daya Ram

    Just keep in mind when you upgrade a management pack to read the management pack guide which is bundled with it.
    Your overrides will be kept in a different management pack so no worries there but the creator of the MP can change the standard overrides in it's pack which could have an impact on your monitoring.
    When upgrading an MP always check the MP guide and especially the "What's new" section to get a quick overview of the different changes in the MP.
    It's doing common things uncommonly well that brings succes. Check out my SCOM link blog:

  • SCOM Management Packs

    Hi
    I have mutiple SCOM Management Servers in my environment. I have to install MPs but I am confused that do we only need to install MPs on a single Mgmt server or on all the Mgmt servers?
    Also, I have a distributed environment where SCOM Reporting Server and web console are on different servers. Please suggest if it will affect my environment if I put both of them on the different servers.
    Thanks in advance.
    Abhinav | MCTS-Server Virtualization

    MPs are to be imported through the SCOM operations console. Once imported they will themselves reach out to all the Management Servers in the SCOM group.
    To answer the second question, There is no harm in having the reporting role and web consoles on different servers. I too have it that way in many of my SCOM groups.
    Hope this helped.
    Thanks, S K Agrawal

  • Converting Text seperated file into excel format file without opening Excel

    Hello Sir,
    I am posting this question again,since i did not get any response,sorry for the inconvinience caused..
    I have a Text file(Test.txt,the data inside it is in specific format seperated by TAB) which i would like to convert it into an Excel file(Test.xsl) without opening MS-Excel.Is there any java code to accomplish it.If yes, can i please get the source code for the same or some Utility.
    I am working on a Windows 2000 platform, on J2EE application server and on CRM based application.
    I had gone through many topics related to my problem,but could not get satisfactory results...
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Sir,
    I am rephrasing my question,i have a Comma Separated File (1042-1.txt)which i would like to convert it into an Excel file (1042-1.xls) without opening MS-Excel using java code...
    So that the data in the Text file gets populated into the columns of the Excel sheet using the java code.
    I am working on a CRM based application and the application is generating a Text file(1042-1.txt) through PL/SQL Packages on the Servers particular directory and this file is getting Downloaded.
    My requirment is that the Users of my application should be presented with an Excel file(1042-1.xls), so that they do not have to Open the Text file in Excel and then do the Importing...instead they should be provided with the Excel file itself...
    Please Can anybody provide me with a solution for the same...

  • SCOM management packs for POS, wireless, printer, scanners

    Hi,
    We are looking for a solution where we want to integrate monitoring of various devices, that might be used in a typical Retail Store operations, into System Center Operations Manager 2012.
    Please let me know how SC OM can support monitoring Point of Sales devices, wireless devices, printers, scanners etc.
    Thanks.

    A lot of it depends on the architecture of your systems, obviously there is the functionality that comes out of the box, but you can extend this by developing your own monitoring. I find mapping out the system in something like visio helps you identify what
    needs to be monitored. Generally if you can script some sort of check then you’ll be able to use this to feed into SCOM (using a variety of methods such as the event log, text files or event custom data sources).
    It’s difficult to be specific without knowing how the various components make up your system.
    I'd map out the system and then post anything you're struggling to monitor.
    Hope this helps

  • How to convert hierarchy XML to CSV/Excel format using PI/XI

    posted in PI forum but not many replies, please bear with me as I am in crunch time*
    Hi All,
    I am working with SAP PI/XI for the first time and need some help file conversion of complex hierarchy XML to CSV file using PI. I have done plenty of research on SDN and could find much related to what I want to do.
    Here is the example of how my input XML would look like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <PartyMaster type="OrgHierarchy" name="Compass Group Owned">
    <PartyMasterHierarchy>
    <Hierarchy level="3" nodeName="Bon Appetit Sector" type="Sector" ID="A00000" refID="A00000">
    <Hierarchy level="4" nodeName="BA Division" type="Division" ID="AB0000" refID="AB0000" >
    <Hierarchy level="5" nodeName="BA East Coast Region" type="Region" ID="ABE000" refID="ABE000">
    <Hierarchy level="6" nodeName="Engstrom, John RVP" type="District" ID="ABE01" refID="ABE01" >
    </Hierarchy>
    </Hierarchy>
    </Hierarchy>
    </Hierarchy>
    <Hierarchy level="3" nodeName="Levy Sector" type="Sector" ID="K00000" refID="K00000".
    <Hierarchy level="4" nodeName="Levy Sector Division" type="Division" ID="K90000" refID="K90000">
    <Hierarchy level="5" nodeName="Levy Sector Region" type="Region" ID="K99000" refID="K99000">
    <Hierarchy level="6" nodeName="TBA Total" type="District" ID="K9901" refID="K9901"> </Hierarchy>
    </Hierarchy>
    </Hierarchy>
    </Hierarchy>
    </PartyMasterHierarchy>
    </PartyMaster>
    I would like to get CSV output in the format below
    DISPLAY_NAME, DOCUMENT_DESCRIPTION, PARENT, EXTERNAL_ID, ORG_UNIT_TYPE
    Bon Appetit Sector, Bon Appetit Sector,constant value, A00000, constant value
    Levy Sector, Levy Sector, constant value, K00000, constant value
    BA Division, BA Division, A00000, AB0000, constant value
    Levy Sector Division, Levy Sector Division, K00000, K90000, constant value
    BA East Coast Region, BA East Coast Region, AB0000, ABE000, constant value
    Levy Sector Region, Levy Sector Region, K90000, K99000, constant value
    Engstrom John RVP, Engstrom John RVP, ABE000, ABE01, constant value
    TBA Total ,TBA Total ,K99000, K9901, constant value
    1) How do I go about this? I think I have to configure an adapter but which adapter would give me the desired result?
    2) How do I tell PI when to pick the file from and where to place it after conversion? Could this be done in adapter configuration?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    --Mithun

    Hi Mithun,
    You might try this step below :
    1. As for xsd schema fo the xml or create xsd schema base on the sample xml file using tools like xmlspy or others free tools.
    2. import you xsd schema as outbound Data type
    3. apply mapping from source to target (csv).
    Configuration
    Sender file adapter (without content conversion)
    Receiver file adapter (with content conversion).
    so the sender adapter will be monitoring inbound directory and write the result to another directory.
    Thank You and Best Regards
    Fernand.

  • Convert pdf into excel format - format issue

    Before I purchase an Adobe Acrobat Pro XI I have downloaded the trail version for evaluating. I have also run an Update of the program.
    Our company is receiving a lot of order files in PDF-format and instead of entering the order lines manually into our order system we want to convert these pdf files into Excel format. We can then use this xls file to upload the order into SAP and in that way save a lot of time. The pdf file consists of several columns as material number, description, quantity …..I want that every column in the pdf document also appears in one own column in the xls file. This works for several order lines but then suddenly are all the columns for some order line written into one and the same column and then are the columns again correctly written. I have tried with several pdf files with the same problem. Has anyone any idea what the reason for this issue is?

    Is this a PDF form? If so, you should be able to extract the data in the form using the manage data under the forms tools. That may be what you are looking for.
    Whenever I see a post related to forms by a commercial concern, there is an issue related to Reader rights. Some of this has changed with AA XI and it would be good to review the license agreement carefully to be sure you are in compliance (law suits are not pretty).

  • Cannot Convert PDF to Excel Format (.xlsx)...

    For over a week, I've been unable to convert a PDF to .xlsx Excel format; after considerable wheel spinning, I get "An error occurred while signing in." Working with support, I uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe Reader; the support tech reset all the preferences, all to no avail. I'm on a Mac under OS 10.9.5.
    My case number with them is 186473209; it's been advanced to a higher support level.
    Today, I had a friend attempt the conversion on his Mac, which is running Yosemite. He logged on with my info and was able to effect the conversion.
    Could that be the solution, or might there be something else going on with my Mac that's causing the problem?

    Thanks,  Sara. I have attempted to effect conversion using other browsers,
    including with Firefox, clearing all caches etc. The reason I tested with
    Maxthon is that I didn't mind clearing it as well. Here's what I just sent
    to Rahul:
    I thought I told you that I have attempted the conversion using four different
    browsers, all with the same failed result. These were Chrome, my default
    browser, Firefox, Safari, and Maxthon. Per an Adobe techie's recommendation, I
    cleared ALL cache and history as a test in both Firefox and Maxthon.
    As I also told you, although I eventually get logged in, it takes inordinately
    long to do so. When I select to begin the converting process, I get stuck at
    this window with the "Continue" button grayed out; can only "Cancel."
    Maybe I neglected to tell you that my friend is running Yosemite while I'm
    still on Mavericks. A technician at Adobe told me that they think that may be
    the issue.
