Converting .xls to .csv file using pl/sql
Hi All,
i have a directory say 'C:\datafile\'. I will be getting .xls file into this directory. I need to change it to .csv and load into oracle tables using sql loader.
Any inputs on this..
thanks..

Even if there's only table data to deal with it will be quite demanding to ignore just colors, font types, formats, sizes you name it the "innovative" users can think of.Even if it had no additional formatting by users and was just a spreadsheet populated with table style data, it would still be nigh on impossible to read the contents intelligently, using any of the file access facilities available as standard in PL/SQL (e.g. UTL_FILE)...
Just looking at the contents of the file in notepad, where many of the bytes are unmappable to readable characters...

Let's face it, you just wouldn't want to try and decipher that. That's what Microsoft have provided ODBC drivers for.

Export batch data into CSV file using SQL SP
Hi,
I have created WCF-Custom receive adapter to poll Sql SP (WITH xmlnamespaces(DEFAULT 'Namespace' and For XML PATH(''), Type) . Get the result properly in batch while polling and but getting error while converting into CSV by using map.
Please can anyone give me some idea to export SQL data into CSV file using SP.How are you doing this.
You would have got XML representation for the XML batch received from SQL
You should have a flat-file schema representing the CSV file which you want to send.
Map the received XML representation of data from SQL to flat-file schema
have custom pipeline with flat-file assembler on the assembler stage of the send pipeline.
In the send port use the map which convert received XML from SQL to flat file schema and use the above custom flat-file disassembler send port

How to Read a CSV file using pure PL/SQL
Hi friends - Is there a possibility to read a .TXT/CSV file from a local machine and display the contents on the form fields each record at one time.
The logic to flow through the records can be build, but the problem is where to begin from to start reading the file using PL/SQL. I don't want to use any third party component/API as such. Is there any way in forms by using PL/SQL to read an external CSV file and interpret the contents.
I have read about SQL * Loader on some sites but cannot find any way to invoke it on windows platform. There seems to be UNIX commands to invoke the .CTL file that is used by SQL Loader. Any help is much apreciated.
RgdsHi Thanks for your replies, TEXT_IO seems to be a solution but not very comprehensive as it provides limited exposed functions to perform complex operations while read and write of files.
I think SQL*Loader is a valid solution, but as I stated in my original quote Im not able to invoke it from the command prompt. The command that is shown on the suggested URL(http://www.orafaq.com/faqloadr.htm) is not found on my machine. I have Windows 2K installed. Is there a seperate patch or a download available from where I can get that .EXE to invoke the utility.

Issue while loading a csv file using sql*loader...
Hi,
I am loading a csv file using sql*loader.
On the number columns where there is data populated in them, decimal number/integers, the row errors out on the error -
ORA-01722: invalid number
I tried checking the value picking from the excel,
and found the chr(13),chr(32),chr(10) values characters on the value.
ex: select length('0.21') from dual is giving a value of 7.
When i checked each character as
select ascii(substr('0.21',5,1) from dual is returning a value 9...etc.
I tried the following command....
"to_number(trim(replace(replace(replace(replace(:std_cost_price_scala,chr(9),''),chr(32),''),chr(13),''),chr(10),'')))",
to remove all the non-number special characters. But still facing the error.
Please let me know, any solution for this error.
Thanks in advance.

The load errors out on especially two columns :
1) std_cost_price_scala
2) list_price_per_unit
both are number columns.
And when there is data being provided on them. It errors out. But, if they are holding null values, the records go through fine.

Write the results script of results log pane to XLS or CSV file with VBA.
Hi,
How can I write the results script of results log pane to XLS or CSV file with VBA code or something? I tried so hard but i can't.
ThanksMoGas,
This is actually not a trivial process. You need to use the results object and code it to write to your file (it is described in the help files).
e-Tester automatically saves the results log as a text file so you may just want to stick with that for simplicity. -

How to get Document Set property values in a SharePoint library in to a CSV file using Powershell
Hi,
How to get Document Set property values in a SharePoint library into a CSV file using Powershell?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
AA.Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to you want to get document set property value in a SharePoint library and then export into a CSV file using PowerShell.
I suggest you can get the document sets properties like the PowerShell Command below:
[system.reflection.assembly]::loadwithpartialname("microsoft.sharepoint")
$siteurl="http://sp2013sps/sites/test"
$listname="Documents"
$mysite=new-object microsoft.sharepoint.spsite($siteurl)
$myweb=$mysite.openweb()
$list=$myweb.lists[$listname]
foreach($item in $list.items)
if($item.contenttype.name -eq "Document Set")
if($item.folder.itemcount -eq 0)
write-host $item.title
Then you can use Export-Csv PowerShell Command to export to a CSV file.
More information:
