Converton of  oracle 9i forms  using JDeveloper

Can we convert an oracle 9i forms using jdeveloper?

The links point to my blog and product (OraFormsFaces). The poster is right that OraFormsFaces is a licensed product.
It is a library consisting of a number of components:
* extensions to Oracle Forms adding a JavaScript API to Oracle Forms
* a number of JSF component allowing you to embed an Oracle Form in a JSF page, and pass parameters and raise events from Forms to JSF and in the other direction
* extensions to the Forms applet allowing for a single Forms applet to be reused during your entire web session. Normally each web page embedding Oracle Forms would start a new applet, which is prevented by OraFormsFaces using a single applet for the entire session
* optional visual integration of Oracle Forms in the JSF page that can blend the form into the page, removing the title bar, menu bar, tool bar, status bar, and other chrome
* supporting PLL libraries to bring the OraFormsFaces functions to Forms PL/SQL
To get an overview of the product and some viewlets demonstrating JSF/Forms integration, please visit http://www.commit-consulting.com/oraformsfaces/
I personally feel that OraFormsFaces could be the missing link for Oracle Forms users wanting to go forward. Many Forms users want to use JSF or other web technologies for new developments but they don't want to be forced into a time consuming and expensive rebuild of their Forms application in web technology. OraFormsFaces allows you to create hybrid systems consisting of new JSF pages and existing Oracle Forms while both can pass parameters and events to the other. This gives the end user and integrated application without a need for development to do a major rebuild/rearchitect.

  • Using scatter graph type in oracle 10g forms using bi beans

hi.. how i can use scatter graph type in oracle 10g using bi beans..
it seems scatter graph is supported in 10g but it doesnt work at all..
i used to use oracle graphics builder in oracle 6i forms, now i need to convert all my old graphs to 10g forms..the line, bar and pie it work very well but the scatter didnt work..
so please if anyone know how to use it please tell me.. and what versions of bi beans support the scatter graph type
    thanks.
    u can email me in
    [email protected]

    Hi,
What version of Oracle Forms are you using? If it is 10.1.2.0.2 (10g R2 Phase 2) then the BI Beans version should be 10.1.2.1 (3.2.2.0.24.2).
When you run a Graph, do you see any version numbers?
Regardless of the version, scatter graph should work. What kind of errors are you getting?
When you install BI Beans in JDeveloper, you get access to BI Beans Help. Go to the following topic for setting up data for a scatter graph:
Help -> Building Applications with BI Beans -> Presenting Data in Graphs -> Specifying Data for Graphs
Did you try posting your question on the Oracle Forms forum?

wud like inputs on wsrp & jsr-168 compliant portlets

    Hi,
You could try starting with the Portal Developers Guide - http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/portal.1014/b14135/toc.htm
You should also find alot of useful info on the Portal Development page on OTN - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/portlet_development_10g1014.html

plz solve my problem any one an which browser i will use for for window 7 32bit ????>
Please take a look at the Client Certification. It lists all of the browsers that are certified for the Java version you are using. Also, you will need to modify your configuration to correctly list the Java Plug-in version you have installed. For information on how to configure the JPI, take a look at Oracle 10gR2 Forms Services – Using Sun's Java Plug-in.

  • How To create ADF Search form in JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.0.1

    Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.0.1 , in which i tried creating an ADF search form that has Find and Execute Buttons.
I created the same ADF search form using JDeveloper 11g TP3 and TP4 wherein it works fine but not in JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.0.1.
    Scenario....
I dragged a read only view object on to the jspx page as ADF Search Form and dragged the same as Read only table.
After doing this if i run the application the search functionality does not happen .
( I click on the find button and enter the condition and then click on the execute button. records does not get filtered based on that condition specified.)
But when the same steps is done in 11g TP3 and TP4 the search functionalty works fine.
Can someone suggest me what is the issue.
Is this a bug in the new release.
    regards

    Hii Andreas Weiden,
Sorry for replying late. I am very thankful to Francois and your for your suggestion. I've gone through the documentation of collection and finally i got the solution.
But I am unable to insert rercord to the table. Values are passed to the procedure, i am able to see the values while debugging and i get the message
'DATA INSERTED INTO THE TABLE' but when i check it with sql, the table is empty. I've tried commit and standard.commit, but it doesn't works. My modified code is given below.

There is no automatic way to do this in JDeveloper. I know there are some Oracle Partners offering forms to java conversion, I don't know how much of their tools are automated and done with JDeveloper. With JDeveloper+ADF you basically rewriting the Forms application from scratch (and using ADF is helpful during this process).

  • Are people using jdeveloper to build application to replace Oracle Form ?

We would like to hear from customers who implemented jdeveloper solution to replace form. In terms of functionality Form was a good product. But it is time to move to something open. Did anyone successfully move their Form application to java/jsp/servlet/xml app using jdeveloper? Thanks for your time.

I just finished my third Forms -> JDev web app conversion. FWIW, my experiences were excellent all three times. However, there are three caveats here:
    1) I was brought in on these cases specifically to develop JDev web apps based on existing Forms apps. J2EE and JDev are my background; not Forms. So the Forms-to-JDev productivity loss didn't affect me; I was used to the lower productivity associated with 3GL programming. YMMV, obviously.
    2) I used Oracle JHeadstart on two of these projects. Compared to "vanilla" JDeveloper 10.1.2, JHeadstart gave me a lot of functionality, such as multi-row edit tables and lookup-driven LOV popups, that are expected by Forms users but that were especially muddy to implement in JDev 10.1.2. I think this is significantly mitigated by changes made in JDev 10.1.3 (certainly those two particular cases are now part of standard ADF functionality), but I've only just started using that.
    3) Even with JHeadstart (and, I anticipate, even with 10.1.3), there is some "expectations adjustment" that has to be done if your user base is used to Forms. The JDeveloper web UI framework (ADF Faces, in its latest incarnation) is getting more and more "AJAX-y" and interactive, but you're still not going to fool anybody into thinking they're running a full-featured desktop application. This really isn't a criticism of JDev or ADF in any way; it's only the bleedingest edge in web apps that comes close to that kind of functionality.

Hello I'm new to jdeveloper and struts and triying to create a sample login page following this tutorial :http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/handson/struts/strutshandson.html
But I have a little problem in the 3rd excercice (Building Struts Form Beans and Actions)
when I follow the instructions "Select File | New > Choose Web-Tier in the Categories, and select Struts > Select ActionForm from the Items > Click OK. "

  • HOW TO CREATE A NEW J2EE APP FOR DEPLOYING ORACLE REPORTS USING JDEVELOPER?

    Hi,
I'm new to JDeveloper and Java, JSP etc. I'm trying to deploy a sample parameter form for JSP report. My question is: When I create a J2EE application using JDeveloper, how to make sure "The WEB-INF directory must contain the JSP tag library for Oracle Reports, called reports_tld.jar"? How to do it via JDeveloper?
    In my JSP page, I use <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/lib/reports_tld.jar" prefix="rw" %>.

Does anyone know the answer to this question?
I get the following error in Jdeveloper when running my test jsp report:
Error(8): Unable to load taghandler class: /WEB-INF/lib/reports_tld.jar
    Thanks.

  • How to upload data into form of Oracle EBS R12 using ATS ver 9.0

    Hi experts,
Could you please guide me how to upload data into form on Oracle EBS R12 using Oracle Application Testing Suite verson 9.(The simpliest way)
For example: I need to create user account on Oracle EBS. Normally, I use Dataloader to upload the data, however it just can upload one by one record, cannot upload multi record at same time. Moreover if the performance of server is low, so I will get the issue when using dataloader.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

Hi you can create Virtual users to enter data. Note than you have to name the objects accordingly.
For Example default recording provided by Open script is ObjectNAME_(Index No of the object).
when you record one iteration the name of any object would be ObjectNAME_(0)
You can then create virtual users so the index will increment as the total number of Virtual users increases. Also you have to handle which row of your test data would get mapped to which Virtual user in the script run session.
    Thanks
