Cookies...I need alternatives to using them...
I need to create a text only version of the portal to meet
requirements of the Federeal Gov't's Disabilities Act...
So, I'm scraping the content of the Portal Pages (pages from
v1.0.2.2) by basically creating another middle tier (db ->
application server -> scraper -> browser).
The issue is COOKIES. I loose them at the "scraper" tier. And
for some reason, I can't retrieve the Oracle Portal generated
cookies from the client machine. The result is a "security
error" when rendering portlets on a page with non-public access
requirements.
So, how can I maintain the user's session WITHOUT the use of
cookies? I would think this would have to be done for the WAP
version of the portal...but then again, maybe not.

Hi,
How abt using HttpSession ? This is one of the modes of session
maintenance in a J2EE scenario. Typically, when you go for a MVC
architecture in Java, a controller (a servlet, which typically
maintains session info), a view (a JSP, which is called from the
servlet and also the UI) and a model (an EJB, which represents
data). This class is in Servlet API.

You can certainly use iWork, though I hesitate to recommend it to a seasoned Windows user simply because it would add another level of the unfamiliar with which you would have to gain familiarity. The iWork applications are certainly very competent and in most respects both easy to use and surprisingly powerful. They are not 100% compatible however, though that typically manifests itself in document formatting issues rather than anything more significant.
I have never attempted to import emails from a Windows system into MacOS - other than in Outlook connected to an Exchange server, thus not really an issue at all. I doubt that the Mail app in MacOS can import directly, but of course you could always set the account(s) up on the Mac and then forward emails you want to keep from the PC. Not elegant, but it works. Virtually any Windows document or file, whichever application created it, can be opened or converted for use on a Mac, and using both systems on my desk each day I rarely see any issues switching stuff from one machine to the other. You may stumble over one or two issues, but likely not significant.
In switching platforms there will be some inevitable issues, not so much with being able to import your stuff because there's usually a workaround or a utility that can help, but just with getting familiar with the platform and the differences between Windows and MacOS that can obscure their similarities. From time to time the support community here hears from a user who has found the migration very problematic and regrets it, but for the most part the phrase 'I should have done this years ago...' is rather more prevalent! -
I have the 1st generation ipod touch i installed an update which now it is 3.1.3 version i was able to put my apps on it but when i want to use the apps it will not let me use them. What do i need to do?
Does it happen with the apps that came with the iPod?
Does it happen with all apps you have downloaded/installed?
Have you ried deleting the apps and redownload/install the apps? You will not be charged again if you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.
Next would be to restore from backup
Last would be to restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -

and confirm. Test. If the sites still don't work, they're incompatible with Safari. Use another browser, such as Firefox, to access them. -
I have to log into all my sites all over again. My cookies aren't recognized. I see the cookies when I go to FF Preferences Privacy tab. But Firefox isn't using them: I have to log in to sites I've previously visited. Firefox just started doing this suddenly: no crash preceded it. What to do?
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the <i>cookies.sqlite</i> file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Friend of mine bought some movies (ITunesStore) one of the 5 devices that she could use them in is my Mac. She needs to use the movies on another device and ask me for delete the conection in my laptop. For that I erase them in Itunes, but she can't still used them? How delete the conections between my computer and her account?

I'm sorry, but I know nothing about iCloud email. I stayed away from iCloud email and only use iCloud for limited purposes.

How does one know if they use "java applets"? What do they do? How will I know if I need to 'disable the java web plug-in browser' if I do not use them? (Obviously I'm not very literate in computer-speak.)
Well, when you go to a web page a section of the web page will have a coffee cup picture where the java applet will run. The applet loads then runs. If you are not seeing this behavior then you are not using java. If it make you feel more comfortable then disable the browser java plugin. On my machine I have not disable java- but you

I am going crazy changing passwords that do not get recognized by the different services when it is time to use them, until I am asked to change the password again, starting the vicious cycle again: i need to use the password, it does not get recognized three times, then the system asks me to change it again, and again, and I am stuck!! Is there any fix for this "glitch?
The first thing I would suggest is for you to go to the folder containing your catalog, using your system browser. There will be a folder that has the extension .lrdata. Delete that folder, and then try to start Lightroom. If that doesn't work, replace your catalog with your most recent backup.

Yoga 3 Pro - Certain Keys Missing from Keyboard. How to virtually use them?

I have bought this for about a week and was not happy about the combination of "Home" and "End" keys since I use them a lot. In using VMWare I noticed there is no "Insert" key on the keyboard at all, thus I cannot use the Ctrl+Alt+Insert functionality in my virtual machines. Today, a random combination of keys was pressed on the keyboard and the "Scroll Lock" was enabled, and guess what: There is no scroll lock in the Yoga 3 Pro! Now I have no idea how to disable this again and non of the forums or manuals have addressed this.
(Lenovo design team has made is specifically hard for users. Not only the keyboard layout and certain keys are removed, but even I cannot find a spare chargin cable for my officec. They have changed everything - even Yoga 2 Pro charging cable is not compatible - and yet not available in the market. Not a very smart strategy )

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I had to really take a look at my own Y3P to realize there is no Insert key, I guess I got too used to the touchscreen
To get rid of the Scroll Lock you can press the combination Fn+C.
Alternatively you can also go to the Control Panel, then "Easy of Access Center" and start the On-Screen Keyboard, you can disable the Scroll lock from there too.

Reading values from JTextField and using them?

I am trying to make a login screen to connect to an oracle database. Im pretty new to creaing GUI. I need help with reading the values from the JTextField and to be able to use them for my connection. So do I need to apply a listener? How do I go about doing that in this project. Jamesthe reason why you can't get the text is because you are reading the value before some actually inserts anything in any fields.
Here is what you need to do:
Create a JDialog/JFrame. Create a JPanel and set that panel as contentPane (dialog.setContentPane(panel)). Insert all the components, ie JLabels and JTextFields. Add two buttons, Login and Cancel to the panel as well. Now get the username and password field values using getText() inside the ActionListener of the Login.

I'm designing a sequential site workflow using Visual Studio 2010 for Project Server 2010. In my case, I have following 6 stages in the workflow:
1. InitialProposal Stage
2. Approval Stage1 -- Needs approval from Approver Project Security Group Members1
3. Rejection Stage
4. Approval Stage2 -- Needs approval from Approver Project Security Group Members 2
5. Execution Stage
6. Completed Stage
Requirement is workflow should move to Approval stage2 from Approval stage1 if approved by all members of Approver Project Security Group1and it should move to Rejection Stage even if a single member rejects it.
Workflow should move from Approval Stage2 to Execution Stage if approved by all members of Approver Project Security Group2 and it should move back to Approval Stage1 on rejection by a single member of the group.
I'm using inbuilt PSWApproval content type and OfficeTask activity for creating approval task for the group members at both stages.
On task rejected in Approval stage2, task will be assigned again to Approval Stage1 and I want to show comments given by members of Approver Project Security Group2 to the members of Approver Project Security Group1 with this assigned task
but I'm not able to retrieve comments from officeTask activity.
My question is where exactly these comments are saved? how can we retrieve them and use them in another officetask activity? If this is not possible then what is the possible solution for meeting above mentioned business requirement?Hi Paul,

By comments field I'm assuming OfficeTask.Comments field. Problem is, this field is always null. I tried accessing this field in CheckExitCondition activity as well as in OnTaskCompleted but in both the cases, it was null only(I wrote comments while approving
the task).
I used a code activity within OnTaskCompleted activity and following code for accessing Comments and Description fields:

Yes, I am logged in as the administrator. When I drag a loop to the trash it does nothing. The trash doesn't recoginize the item as trash and doesn't pop up and say trash like it does when I drag items from other programs to the trash.

Since you already had two iPod before getting the iPhone, what exactly did you need to "install" to use the iPhone? Doesn't it use to the same iTunes installation you already used with the iPods?
