Copy BOM Material History to new plant

Hi All,
My requirement is to copy BOM Material with their history regardless of validation to new plant .I had tried with FM CSAP_MAT_BOM_CREATE and this CSAP_MAT_BOM_MAINTAIN but getting the error message Engineering change mgmt called with datathat could not be interpreted.
Help me out ,if you have any suggestion to achieve this requirement.

It is not possible to update automatically in standard SAP.
Either you can go for custom program or use standard LSMW object for extending the master data in the other plants
As usual, the same template what ever used for Material and BOM creation initially can be used.

Create/extend materials for new plant with new profit centers

Hi.
We have created a new plant and want to create/extend the materials from an existing plant to the new plant (with new profit center). Can this be done via MM17?

Hi Kjettern,
To extend the existing material to a new Plant/Profit centre, pls follow the following steps: -
1. Copy down the material number (i.e XYZ) you want to extend.
2. Go to t-code MM01.
3. Enter the material number (i.e. XYZ) you copied from (1) into the Material field and hit ENTER.
4. You will get an information on the bottom that "the material type XXX and the industry sector YYY has been copied from master record".
5. Pls note that Basic Data 1 & 2 is not changeable as the same set of material data will be used when a material is extended.
6. Hit ENTER again. To change other details other than Basic Data 1 & 2, select the views that you want.
7. You will be prompted to enter a Plant. Here you must enter the new Plant that you want to extend the material to and hit ENTER.
8. You will get a confirmation stating that the material already existed and will be extended (to the desired Plant u entered in (7)).
9. Ensure that all the data in all the important tabs are maintained, for the right Storage Location, Warehouse Num, Moving Average Price, Standard Price etc. before proceed further.
10. Hit Save. You will get a msg that "Material XYZ created".
Now you are able to use this material number in the new Plant you created.

Sdconfigeration for new plant

Hello All
My client has purchased new plant ,which is not having SAP.Now he wants operations for this plant to be done in SAP, as SAP is available with client.
Pls let me know what all the confirgeration has to done from SD perspective for the new plant creation.

-->First you need to define the Plant with MM people in the IMG through this path
SPRO>IMG>Enterprise structure>Definition>Logistics General-->Define, copy, delete, check plant
-->Plant need to be assigned to the existing company code
SPRO>IMG>Enterprise structure>Assignment>Logistics General-->Assign plant to company code.
-->As SD consultant you need to assign the new plant to the existing sales organisation and distribution channel.
SPRO>IMG>Enterprise structure>Assignment>Sales and Distribution-->Assign sales organization - distribution channel - plant.
-->Maintain the shipping point determination for the new plant through OVL2 transaction.
-->You need to extend the material to the new plant if you want to do the activities from the new plant with already existing material.
-->If your business involved Excise process then you need to the CIN related settings to your new plant.
SPRO>IMG>Logistics general>Tax on goods movements>India-->Basic settings.

Creating a new plant and its effects/changes required in FI/CO

Hi Experts,
My client is going to create a new plant in SAP so I would like to know as to what effects does it have in FI/CO.
New plant is proposed to use functions FI, CO, SD, MM-WM and QM
I am aware that it needs to be assigned to company code and certain account determination may change depending on the way transactions take place in new plant.
Other than above, I would like to know if there are any specific points on which I need to concentrate and take care to ensure a smooth flow in FI/CO and no break up of existing system.

Below points you have to look.
1.Assigning new plant to company code and then assignment of purchasing organization to plant.
2.Vital steps:-Need to active your valuation area(new plant) in OMWD t.code with valuation grouping code.
3.Maintain MRP Controller/Controllers
4.Assign sales organization, distribution channel & new plant
5.Active quantity & value updation for new plant for all material types
6.Use LSMW or BDC with MMZ1 t.code for material ( old material or used material) uploading to new plant.
7.All info record need to be created with LSMW
8.Creation of any valuation types & MRP data
9.For new plant Excise Reg. number need to be assigned in Maintaining Plant Settings(
SPRO ->> Logistics general ->> tax on Goods Movements->>India ->>Basic setting ->> Maintain Plant Settings)

Creation of a new plant

Hi Gurus,
While creating a new plant in real time, is advisable to copy a standard plant or define a new plant ? Please give reasons.
When a plant is copied what are the various parameters that are copied to the target plant ?

SAP recommends creation of plant by copying. Generally when a new plant is created it should be copied from any of the existing plant which functions similar to the new plant.
The reason for this is when creating we may miss to update all the required configuration and all the configuration tables with links would not get updated. This also reduces time of setting plant as you need to just change/add configuration where ever required in the new plant.
But if you are a fresher trying to test in your test system... create it in create method so that you will understand in the hardway as what all needs to be configured, it will be a good learning which you will not forget. Please dont try this when you are working with a client system as this make give you lot of trouble and need lot time to resolve issues.

Error while extending material for new plant

Dear All,
We have created new plant through copying old plant.
But when I try to extend the material to the newly created plat system giving error message
Tables TCURM and T001w inconsistent : notify your system administrator
Msg no M3820
Diagnosis
Valuation is at plant level. However, inconsistencies have arisen because of the way in which the plant was configured in Customizing or because plants have not been assigned to a company code.
kindly help me out to over come this issue as early as possible.

Extending Material to new plants - Legal Control

Hi All.
I am extending a material to new plants by copying the data froma particular plant.
Whats happening is for some plants the LEGAL CONTROIL data (Foreign Trade Import view) is automatically getting copied and populated but for some plants it is not.
What could be the reason?

BAPI to copy a material to other plant

I need to copy a material from the plant(werks) 2000 to the plant 2300, but i need to use the same material number, wich BAPI can copy this material?

Hi John,
Use the BAPI BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA, but pass the material number in the HEADDATA as well as providing the new PLANTDATA.
If you supply the material number, it will extend the material, rather than creating a new one.

MM01 -- Update Was terminated while copying the material from one plant

Hi Experts,
While I am trying to copy the material from one plant like ETPE to another plant ETPZ , its telling that material created.
But when we try to display the created material in MM02 for plant ETPZ , it says that material does not exist.
Note : After creating the material , if we try to move any transaction code it shows the error message box and says that Update was terminated .
Kindly help us to resolve this.

we have put the debugging , if there is any badi , enhancement the debugger would have gone to exit or enhancement line but its not going to any where.
and I have checked in sm13 ..
its giving the error like update was terminated
from funtion module : MATERIAL_UPDATE_DB
Report name : LGRAPU37
row : 360.
ABAP/4 processor: POSTING_ILLEGAL_STATEMENT
but if we go and see in the row 360 ...
CALL SCREEN 100 line only
is there , even if we put the breakpoint in this line , while we are debugging , debugger is not going to that line .
Note : if we see the screen 100 it shows the empty screen.

This is understandable how to extend data to new plant; however, is there any way material master can be extended with whole range or material group or material can be extended individually only.

See you have to record the values through SHDB. The recording is send to ABAPER for BDC programme. This prog needs CSV, or tab delimited file with values which can be uploaded

Creation a new plant by copying

Dear all,
I working in a project where we need to merge on plant to a new company code.
I believe that can be solve with Tcode EC02, which actually will copy all characteristics from that plant to the new one under a different company code, won't it?
This basically means that also all the information related to procedures (like release procedure), Output types for inventory management, etc, etc will be copied, meaning that we wont have to do any new development?
I assume we will still need to do some customizing like MRP Controllers and so on, or this transaction will also copy all tables?

That basically means that unless we decide to create any new development/customizing everything will be exactly copy as from the original settings, am I correct?
My question comes due to the project where I'm working now. Customer basically wants to close one company code and take everything to another Company Code, therefore we will need to replicate everything as it is now (Plants, SLocations, Controlling Areas, Sales Orgs, etc).
My assumption is that when we create new plants with reference from the old one, also all values under tables will be copied, so we won't have to spend time in customizing, and we will be able to focus on other activities that may require customizing or more work.
Could you please advice me on that point?

Plant and Material data in New GL

Currently, we are implementing ECC6 New GL and BW management reporting. The requirement is to report all inventory related costs and COGS by plant code.
The profit center structure (model) is not supporting the plant view.
Is there anyway to populate the plant and material code in the ne GL FAGLFLEXT table. The reporting is done in BW and currently SAP provides standard extractor for the new GL summary table.
SAP documentation says it's possible to add ZZ customer fields like plant and material to the new GL table.
Anyone in SAP community have experience with addition of customer fields to new GL table. If YES, how did you solve the configuration issue? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Kishan,
Plant is avaialable as 'standard' field for additional field in FAGLFLEXT. It's added as ZZWERKS but you don't have to create coding block field. The field can be added by trx.FAGL_GINS.
Note 923687 gives the example about material field.
