Copy Dynamic Stamp Between Users

I've created a Dynamic and Interactive stamp using Adobe 9 PRO and was wondering the best way to implement the stamp company-wide.  My understanding is that you must create the stamp image prior to adding the custom fields and script calculations.  I've tried to move the completed stamp into the users "Documents and Settings" folder but once I create the stamp on the new local machine...it becomes static (as expected).  Thanks in advance!

What product and version is the user using?
You need to adjust the location of the user stamps for the userID and product version.
Use the following JavaScript to locate the user's stamp file location:
app.getPath('user', 'stamps');

  • Dynamic stamp rotates after creation, why?

    Afternoon,
    Acrobat X Pro
    Windows 7 Pro
    I've been finagling with a dynamic stamp with user-populated fields/javascript and one version (which I hammered out a few months back) works great, the second version (which I've recently picked up) is not doing so well. I've got the stamp page size/background/javascript/form text fields all worked out but after I've created the stamp I notice that it's rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise... Any ideas as to why? I'm still working with it and will report back if I find a solution.
    Any/all help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
    Ted

    Best solution I've found is to simply rotate the stamp page in it's PDF but it doesn't explain why this particular stamp's orientation at creation is incorrect. When placing the stamp on a document the incorrect 90 degree counterclockwise orientation dimensions are still visible (2.75" H x 1.8" W) and the preview stamp image is stretched/distorted; but on placement the stamp is correct (1.8" H x 2.75" W).
    I could have also just left it with the incorrect orientation and had the field users rotate it themselves after populating the fields but I don't want to hear 'but why isn't it this way or that way' any more often than I need to.
    I still welcome any/all assistance to more permanently correct this problem.
    Thanks again,
    Ted

  • Custom Dynamic Stamp Allowing Custom User Text

    Maybe there are too many results to read through... I've searched and searched to no avail...
    I've created a custom dynamic stamp (in Acrobat Pro X) but I want to be able to enter whatever text I want into the field and I seem to be doing something wrong.  There's no way that this isn't an option... is there?
    I've checked "Value Is Not Calculated" but once I insert the stamp, I don't know how to add text to the field.
    Maybe this is a super-newbie question, but I'm stumped and would REALLY appreciate a hint!
    Thanks a lot!

    Yes, you can use the 'app.response' method or the Dialog object.

  • Name not appearing in Dynamic Stamps

    Hi.
    When I insert a dynamic stamp, such as reviewed,approved etc, into a pdf my name does not appear as the reviewer/approver.
    I am using Adobe pro9 and Windows 7.
    Thanks.

    Is your copy of Acrobat up to date with version updates?
    The current version is 9.5.1.
    Have you turned off JavaScript in Acrobat?
    Did you create the dynamic stamp?
    Have you completed "Identity" category in Acrobat's Preferences?
    Do the Dynamic stamps supplied by Adobe work?
    What is the code you are using to insert your name?
    The code supplied by Adobe for their Dynamic stamps:
    event.value = (new Date()).toString();
    AFDate_FormatEx("h:MM tt, mmm dd, yyyy");
    event.value = "By " + ((!identity.name || identity.loginName != (event.source.source || this).Collab.user) ? (event.source.source || this).Collab.user : identity.name)
    + " at " + event.value;

    Why are my fields not moving with my Dynamic stamp ? Only the artwork appears

    Sounds like you're a candidate for Lightroom...based on the time you don't
    want to spend in Photoshop.
    Photoshop install media is likely created in large batches, perhaps in a
    foreign country, so it's understandable that you get Photoshop 11.0.0 is on
    the media.
    I don't know as I would use ProPhotoRGB as my working space in Photoshop.  I
    was merely suggesting that you look at your color settings to make sure
    things were the same on both machines.
    How do you know your actions are the same?  Did you copy the action
    recording from one computer to the other, or did you merely record the same
    steps on each one?  Have you compared the details of each action step in the
    Actions Palette to make sure they are the same?  The symptoms still sound
    like something different than sRGB being the output color-space, or the fact
    it isn't embedded on one or the other of the computers.
    How are you viewing the JPG when it looks the same or different than the
    RAW?  Are you looking at the side-by-side in Photoshop, or side-by-side in
    Bridge, or are you using a mixture of viewers, one Adobe, and one not?  And
    are you using the Canon Codec on Vista or not?  The Canon Codec would be
    showing the camera-preview in the RAW not the RAW adjustments that Adobe has
    done.
    While the OS shouldn't be causing a difference in how the action is run, a
    difference between OSes may make a difference in the processing to show up.
    The camera profile associated with a RAW file is visible in the
    third-from-right tab in ACR over at the right.  The one with the little
    DSLR-camera icon on the tab.
    Can you attach the two JPGs on a reply, here, or if not, upload a ZIP of the
    two JPGs and the RAW to a file-sharing site like http://www.rapidshare.com/
    and post the download link(s)?

  • Help with Dynamic Stamp

    Hello
    I have created a dynamic stamp that I swear was working great this morning, but now odd things are happening. I am very new to this. Heres what i have done so far....
    I created the PDF for the stamp.
    I created the custom stamp in Adobe
    I went to the file where the stamp is kept by adobe and added the form field.
    I added this text in custom Calculation:
    var cResponse = app.response({
    cQuestion: "Enter the number to appear in the stamp.",
    cTitle: "Number",
    cLabel: "Number:"
    if (cResponse == null) {
    event.value = "*NVALID*";
    else
    event.value = cResponse;
    I save and close file.
    I go to my pdf. Hit the stamp icon, go down to dynamic stamps and in stead of a list showing of all the dynamic stamps it takes me right to this
    I enter what info i want, and the stamp never stamps.
    Any suggestions?
    thanks!!

    To add more clarification to this super fun stamps game I've been trying to play for the better part of 2 or 3 days now, going to try to blurt this out quickly so I can get dinner.
    Here is a solution to adding all the stamps you used to have into new Acrobat (as the whole "just copy the file into the Roaming Acrobat Stamps folder" didn't do anything for me)
    in Acrobat, create a new custom stamp, with whatever, this results in the crazy file name in the user stamp folder.
    Take your old stamps file, rename it to this file name, (and put into the Title field of that acrobat properties the Name of the Stamps you'd like them to be contained under, this will be what shows up when you bring up the stamp tool.
    And the whole dynamic stamp gobblygook above with the #crapblahsputting name, do away with that to make java and forms easier by opening page templates and just going through and making sure the pages in your file are accounted for and if you have the #crazyname then change it to something like #KISS=Keep it Simple Stupid (the Keep it Simple Stupid, will be what shows up if you were to show Stamp Names in Acrobat) and now when you try to do other Forms Java scripting you can just say event.source.stampName == "#KISS" and life will be easier
    Also in the organize page menu drag the files around so they can be in a better order than just how you added them into Stamp originally.
    You can drag in new files to this stamp file as well in the future too, just be sure to go to the page templates and get that page a name, #KISS2=Keep it Simple Squared
    I hope this also saves someone the frustration of this Stamp world, I'm sure that now that I've FINALLY figured it out, Adobe will remove the feature.

  • Dynamic Stamps from Database Tables

    I'm the librarian for a small custom publisher, and we use Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to produce products for academic instructors, and MS Excel (2007) to generate and store metadata for each selection/file (sometimes thousands of selections in a batch). Part of our production process requires placing a "credit line" stamp on the first page of each selection, which includes content which resides only in the Excel sheet (source citation info, and the page range of each selection, among other elements). We currently copy and paste this data manually from Excel to a text box on the PDF, which, given the volume of selections to process, simply won't work in the long run.
    I'm wondering if it's possible for an Acrobat plugin or script to read from a database table (Excel, or some other format if need be), and dynamically apply credit line text to a given filename. I've been researching a few different methods, including batch processing of dynamic stamps and a couple commercial plugins, but so far nothing which explicitly addresses this issue. I'd appreciate any help anyone can provide.

    Well, we have been in product development for past dozen years. In my humble opinion, we know a thing are two about product design. But thanks for your inputs though.
    Obviously you are not doing so well with this "design"... Just sayin'... :) :)
    You seems to be expert in the application/product design. Have you ever heard of "user data mashup" concept in data warehousing? Just curious.
    "user mashup" would indicate that the user actually controls how this is done. You, as a "product" will be making some [potentially very bad] assumptions about the end-user data that cannot be accounted for in a "canned" product. You can influence how it is done, but, in the end, does it meet the exact business needs of the end-user.
    you could possibly use some PL/SQL packages to
    1) get all of the tables
    2) get all of the columns.
    3) do the mashup.
    Now a question. Let's say table1 and table3 have (col1 + col2) that are the same and column3 is different. What do you put in column3?? or is this another row.

  • Acrobat Pro 8 - Create a Dynamic Stamp

    1. How can I create my own dynamic stamp, for instance, how can I change the existing dynamic stamp "Approved" to "Released" with same time and date included.
    2. How can I create my own dynamic stamp with some defined chops with additional "released", time and date included.
    Hope I have made myself clear for these question, I have searched in the knowledge database, could not been able to get it.

    Hi gbsales,
    Did you read the Dynamic Stamps Secrets article (http://www.acrobatusers.com/tutorials/2007/02/dynamic_stamp_secrets )?  It explains how to locate your dynamic stamp files (which are really PDF files) after you create them.  Once you locate them on your system you can make a copy and distribute the files to your co-workers.  Of course, they will have to place them into the stamps folder on their Acrobat stamps folder too ( they can run the same code to find the path to the correct foler on their system).
    From the Console Window run
    app.getPath ("app", "stamps");
    app.getPath ("user", "stamps");
    to locate your stamp files.  Further details are in the article.
    Hope this helps,

  • Dynamic Stamp Reviewer Name Changes upon Comment Download from Shared Review

    When reviewers publish their dynamic stamp to an active Shared Review and I join the review, it downloads their comments (including the dynamic stamp) but when it downloads to my copy, the name on the stamp changes from their profile name to my profile name. If I double-click on the stamp, the reviewer's name shows up on the comment pop-up yet my profile name remains on the stamp image.
    I've dug around in the forum and have found no information about this problem. Does anyone out there have a fix for this or have you seen this problem as well?
    It happens whether the review is initiated and stored in a network server directory, or using a SharePoint workspace.
    No matter who has initiated the review, the renamed stamp appears in other participants' review copies. This was not happening at all before (we have been using Shared Review since 2012).
    It just started happening and it is occurring to others at our company as well. Initiating from different versions of Acrobat (ranging from Acrobat 9 to Acrobat 10) results in the same problem.
    Some reviewers' names are showing correctly and some are replaced with the user's name. See below.
    Below you can see the first approved stamp name (and time stamp) is different than the pop-up.
    The second is the same as the reviewer.

    I don't have the answer but I've seen the same thing, only with it twist. It seems to be related to the disappearing comments that others are talking about.
    We use the dynamic stamps just as you do and for certain users, the stamps disappear when the review file is opened again, no matter who opens it. You can see then listed as having added comments as the file is opening but no stamps are showing, and they aren't listed in the comments window once the file is open.
    But we have one user who DOES see the stamps - except that they have his name instead of the user that actually stamped it! So for some users, there's no problem - they stamp the file and everyone sees it fine. For others, the stamp disappears whenever anyone except that one user opens it, and he sees his own name on them. We all use Acrobat X except this one user, who's still on Acrobat 9.
    This all started recently and the number of affected users seems to be increasing. I firmly believe that it's related to recent updates that have been sent out, though I can't prove it. Not sure why else the problem would just start happening, and not to every user.
    This is a serious problem that needs to be fixed!

    You cannot tranfser items from one iTunes account to another. Purchased items remain part of the iTunes account is was purchased with.

  • Dynamic Stamps with Text Input Options

    You guys were so helpful I thought I'd give this another go. I'm trying to create a stamp like the one used in this tutorial (http://blogs.adobe.com/acrolaw/2009/05/add_dynamic_exhibit_stamps_in_ac.html), but based off of the attached image. Bascially I need people to be able to input their name and date, and have it not change after it's been entered. Thanks!

  • Move an iTunes library between users on the same mac

    How do I move an iTunes library between users on the same mac?
    I accidentally created a secondary user on my mac some time ago when using the migration tool and am now going back and transferring all my files from the secondary to the admin user profile.
    I wanted to know which itunes files/folders need to be copied over.
    Is the process as simple as replacing the itunes folder on admin with the copied itunes folder from my secondary profile or do I need to delete the admin folder first and then copy the old folder over or do I delete the contents of the folder and replace with the copied contents?
    I am using shared folders to move between users, but want to make sure that I am picking the right files to transfer.
    Thanks in advance.

    Assuming you have left iTunes to default settings so everything is still in the iTunes folder the way iTunes likes it to be, copy the whole of the iTunes folder to the new location.  If it is in the default directory (Home > Music) for iTunes the application will automatically use it there for the new account.  If you put it elsewhere you will have to start iTunes and immediately hold down the option key to direct it to the new location.
    It is just possible you will have to change permissions.  If you encounter those issues read the part about changing permissions on the iTunes folder in: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11583914
