Copy existing structure in the query

Hello,
I have couple of existing structures in the query, my requirement is I need to create a new structure similar to the existing stricture.
Is there anyway to copy the existing structure.
Please help me.
Thanks,
John

Hi Roberto
I did like this,
I have chosen save as option by right clicking the structure and provided tech name and descriptions. It created new structure with the existing fields.
Thanks a a lot for your help.

  • The structure in the query

HI,BW experts, I have a question about the structure of the query :is there only one key figure in the query?in my query ,i have a key figure structure already, could I create another key figure structure, and how to ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Cindy
If your query already has a structure then why you want to create a new one? add new key figures to the exisiting structure.
If you have to create new structure for key figures then
GO to Query change in Query designer & in Columns section do right mouse click and select structure. This will add new structure and then you can add new key figures to that if you need.
    Hope this helps

  • Netweaver 04s - Use of two structures in the query craeted dump

I have used two structures in a query, The same query works fine in current BW 3.5 system but in BI 7.O sandbox (copy of prod), it dumps out.
When I check the query, it does give these message (same as in PROD, where it runs without a problem).
    - Different hierarchies are used for characteristic Cons Group
    - Number variable ZFV_HTES cannot be replaced.
    - Fiscal year variant is to be specified for key figure Cumulative (YTD) Value in Group Currency

    Hi Rakesh.
Did you get a satisfactory outcome to this problem? Does the current patch of Netweaver 04S cover it?
    Would appreciate your reply, please.

  • Using an "EXISTS" test in the QUERY parameter for an expdp

Has anyone successfully used EXISTS in the QUERY parm during an export datapump? I can get IN to work, but not exists:
    Works:
    tables=fred.export1
    directory=dpump_dir_dev
    dumpfile=expdpdev_export_test2_20101216.dmp
    logfile=expdpdev_export_test2_20101216.log
query=export1:"WHERE state in (select state from fred.export2)"Doesn't work
    tables=fred.export1
    directory=dpump_dir_dev
    dumpfile=expdpdev_export_test4_20101216.dmp
    logfile=expdpdev_export_test4_20101216.log
    query=export1:"WHERE exists (select * from fred.export2 where fred.export2.state = fred.export1.state)"Oracle unhappy:
    Processing object type TABLE_EXPORT/TABLE/TABLE
ORA-31693: Table data object "FRED"."EXPORT1" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error:
    ORA-00904: "FRED"."EXPORT1"."STATE": invalid identifier
    . . .I tried "where export2.state = export1.state)" and that returned the same error
It's like Oracle is aliasing the table or something, such that when I try to reference it in the WHERE clause of the subquery, it can't recognize it. Any ideas on another way of writing the EXISTS test? I can use IN, but in some cases that might be a list of values over 500,000 items long. Looks like an EXISTS runs faster as a SELECT statement, so I thought the same might be true during the datapump process.
    --=Chuck

    Hi,
It looks like boolean expression in query does not work in expdp where as it works for in clause as in that case it is referring to export table column and matching it to the value from other table.
"where export2.state = export1.state)" also will not work as you are only exporting export1 table so it does not have references to export2 table (as there is no select for export2 table)
    My 2 cents

  • How can i reuse a structure in the query designer in 3.5

    Hi all,
we are using the version BW 3.5,  now how can i reuse a structure made int he query designer, because i need it in another query, i did the structure and put it a technical name and save, help guys

    HI Richard,
Create a Structure in Rows/columns and save As it, then in the left Panel of the Query Designer you can see three Folders
    1) Structures
    2) Keyfigures
    3) Dimensions
then Expand the structures Folder, there you can find your saved structure, Structures are 2 types
    1) With Key figures
    2) Without Key Figures
If you have the key figures in your saved structure, then you can find it in the subfolder of with Keyfigures, else in the other folder.
Now you can use this structure by draging in all the queries which are on the same InfoProvider (CUbe. MultiProvider)

  • Show all the structure in the Query

    Hi people,
I would like to know if there is some way to show all the structure I created by hierarchy to my query, enven if some nodes there isn´t any data.
I have configurated to show only the lines there is amount. It means it won´t show the lines that have zeros.
But the structure (all of the nodes) I would like to show, include that one there aren´t any datas.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rosana.

    Jaya,
    You are 10. It worked!.
I only will leave opened this request yet because I would like a new suggestion.
For exemple, I have the hierarchy but on the side "colum"  I already have a structure where is restricted by data because it is a report  "Year to Date".
On this case, is it possible to do something to show all the structure of the hierarchy?
Ps.: If it is necessary close this request and open a new one, you can tell me ok?
    Thanks a lot,
    Rosana.

  • BW 7.0 - display of the global structures in the query designer

    Hi colleagues,
When I open the gobal structures of an infoprovider in the query designer, the system shows me all levels of the structures; that is not clearly arranged.
It would be better, the system would show allways  only the next level.
    Is there any idea ?
    regards
    Dieter Gerl

    Hi,
I can think of three possibilities for a solution.
    1. Store the name of the required table in a config table and select at runtime
    2. use an 'IF' or 'CASE' statement to deterimine which system you are currently in and then place the required varible within this statement.
    3. Preferred solution: use a Field Symbol to assign the table at run-time, this way no errors will occur and your program will compile.
There are many examples of FIELD SYMBOLS on SDN and even the F1 help in SAP.

  • Copy function based on the query with variables

    Hello
Let me share the scenario I need to implement. I have a planning query with layout like shop / material / sales volume. The variables are shop number and calendar month. User opens the planning query, selects shop number and month, then sees the list of materials and puts the planned sales volume, then saves as a temporary version. Saving as a temporary version is realized by standard u201Csaveu201D function. The matter is that the user needs to have a possibility to copy this version to official one. I created the button and linked it with the copy function. The problem is that when a user clicks this button, the function asks him/her to provide variables again. I would like to have the button which copies the data with the same selection criteria as the query already has.
    Any idea?
    Arelis.

    Hi,
I think when you add the button you specify the planning sequence name and that takes the filter of the modeler .Now when you try to call the planning sequence the filter variables are also added to the button as VAR_NAME, VAR_VALUE which prompts you for the variable again.Delete VAR_NAME,VAR_VALUE at the back of the button  manually and then save your work book. Then it will not ask for variable entry and the values that you have specified in the query filter will pass on to modeler filters. As variables are global.
Similarly if you are using planning function then at the back of the button remove the VAR_NAME,VAR_VALUE.
    Hope this may help.

    Indu

  • BDLS t-code Doubt after copying existing ECC to the new ECC

    Hi,
We are creating a new ECC client by copying other already exist ECC Client with SAP_ALL Profile. Both are at  ECC 6.0.  Source and Destination ECC have Development and Demo Server respectively.
    Old ECC Client : ECDCLNT801
New ECC Client :  PHDCLNT902 (Created by copying ECDCLNT801 with SAP_ALL Profile)
After Creation of Client , We run two BDLS  t-code in  PHDCLNT902.
Source  : ECDCLNT801 and Target : PHDCLNT902   (On selecting  Client Dependent and Independent Tables)
After done this I am getting  the same GUID no in CRMPRLS table for  both ECCs.
Is it fine having same GUID no. for PHDCLNT902 and ECDCLNT801 in CRMPRLS table as mentioned PHD 902 is the copy of ECD 801 with SAP_ALL profile ,  so the GUID should have different or the same?
Or have to delete that entry from PHD 902 and again need to re run *BDLS * to get the new GUID at PHD 902?
Kindly correct me, will give points.

  • 'New Structure' in the Query Designer

    Hi,
I know these questions might be very silly but i want to get the best picture about reporting in BW. Is there a restriction that we could create only 2 new structures in both rows and colums or isn't there any rule.Any kind of explanation would be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Anjali.

    Hi Anjali,
I am not sure if I undertand, what you are looking for.. you can (in 3.0B) only create one structure per row or column. However you can create 2 types of structure elements. "New Selection" and "New formula". Is that what you are reffering to?
If yes, one is a selection that can consist of key figures and characteristics.
The other is a calulation based on available structure elements or formula variables.
Both enable you to create complex "drilldowns"
    regards,
    Michael

  • How to replace the structure in the BI Query

    Hi Guys
We have a query and we have a structure in the ROWS section. We want to replace this structure with another one which is aviable in the query.
For some reason i am able to remove the structure from the ROWS section but i am unable to drag a new structure in the ROWS section. Any idea what i am doing wrong. We are on BI 7.0 version.

    Hi Pravender,
Thanks for the quick response. I have tried that option and it does not work.
I am able to remove the existing structure from the ROWS section of the query and able to save the query. When i go back and try to drag and drop the new structure it does not allow me to drag and drop the new structure availble in the query.
apologies for my ignorance. I am new to BI so i might be doing something wrong. Does the structure needs to have any specific properties to be able to drag and drop? I have more than 10 structures availble in the query but i am unable to drag and drop anyone in the ROWS section.

  • Tables in the query

    Hi all,
my requirement is from the following tables i need to find the link for the query element to query.
    RSZELTDIR
    RSZELTXREF
    RSZELTTXT
    RSRREPDIR
    RSZCALC
    RSZCEL
    RSZCHANGES
    RSZCOMPDIR
    RSZCOMPIC
    RSZELTATTR
    RSZELTDIR
    RSZELTPRIO
    RSZELTPROP
    RSZELTTXT
    RSZELTXREF
    RSZGLOBV
    RSZRANGE
    RSZSELECT
    Also my requirement
i am able to find the relation between the structure and the query
where in if i use a restrcition in the structure say i am restricting the characteristics value like version is restricted with 0 then that appears as a selction and query for that gives me the structure name where in i want the name of the query.
    Hope i am clear.
    Help will be highly appreciated..
    Thanks & Regards,
    S.Sankaran

it depends on your source system
for example if you are using oracle, you can edit the link between the table and add this
    (+)
    for example
    TAB1.ID = TAB2.ID (+)
    AND TAB1.DEPT  = TAB2.DEPT(+)
See the following link for discussing outer and inner joins for oracle
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_outer_joins.htm
    good luck

  • Always hided elements in structure (SAP BW query) are "activated" in WebI

    Hello WebI-experts
We have an interesting challenge to get resolved, hopefully you can help us.
As datasource we use a SAP query with two structures.
One structure contains a variable (variable 0CMONTH of character 0CALMONTH) which is only relevant for the initial prompt, e.g.: 03.2010.
This prompting variable itself has the property of "Always Hide" under Display setting.
All the other elements of this structure have the setting "Always Show".
The Universe on this SAP BW query already shows NOT the elements of this structure. It "only" shows the structure itself as dimension (icon).
When designing a WebI query and executing it the result is:
Showing the values for all the elements with property setting "Always Show" AND wrongly also the only one with "Always Hide". It is required to exclude the "Always Hide" element of the structure from the reporting view.
    Questions:
1.) Are there any means to show the elements of the SAP BW query structure in the universe and therefore also in the WebI query? If there are no means....then question 2.
2.) How can we exclude the "Always Hide" element of the structure from the reporting view?
    Thanks for any advise.
    Chäsitzer

    Hi
I have altered the SAP BW query in the following manner:
The "always hided" element in the structure of the query has been erased.
The current structure only consists of 0CALMONTH variables, 0CMONTH, which itself are off-set ones, e.g.
STRUCTURE in the query: (consists of 12 months)
    current month (variable 0CMONTH)
    current month -1  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -1)
    current month -2  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -2)
    current month -3  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -3)
    current month -4  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -4)
    current month -5  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -5)
    current month -6  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -6)
    current month -7  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -7)
    current month -8  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -8)
    current month -9  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -9)
    current month -10  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -10)
    current month -11  (variable 0CMONTH, off-set -11)
The universe itself consists "only" of this structure, the 12 months off-set variables are not displayed respective editable.
How can we display the exact 0CALMONTH variable values, counting down from the current month, in our WebI report, e.g.:
Rows of WebI report SHOULD show:
    Nov 2010
    Oct 2010
    Sep 2010
    Aug 2010
    Jul 2010
    Jun 2010
    May 2010
    Apr 2010
    Mar 2010
    Feb 2010
    Jan 2010
    Dec 2009
    Thanks for your help.
