  • Content Repository sharing across domains

    Hello,
Is it possible to share a bea content repository across domains?
    Thanks,
    -- Anant

    Ok,
But besides caching, would there be any other issues, like entitlements and delegated admin?
If the content cache timeout were to be set to say 20 minutes, then at the most the content would be 20 minutes out of date. So then could you set up a repository in multiple domains, with one domain having the entitlements and delegated admin setup for publishing content and the other domains being read only?
    Thanks,

  • How to setup a new Domain in WLS6.0

    Hi all,
i´m new to wls-development, so this could be a stupid
question but can anybody point me in the right direction
to setup a new Domain in WLS6.0. I have created a new Domain
in the Admin-Console and write startup-Scripts based on
the provided examples. When try to start (an also new created Server)
all i get is the following Exception:
java.lang.SecurityException: Authentication for user system denied in
    realm weblogic
Does anybody know what´s going on here?
    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

Do you have the file fileRealm.properties in the new domain
you've created? I believe this is where authentication occurs.
The one in the mydomain directory can be copied over to the new
    domain's directory. I believe the file SerializedSystemIni.dat
file also needs to be replicated in your new domain directory.

  • New Domain - copied content

I have just purchased a new domain and want to copy the web pages from my existing iWeb site to the new domain and edit from there. Are there any pitfalls that I should be ware of due to my copying the old site (which will remain active) content and editing from there?

"I have just purchased a new domain and want to copy the web pages from my existing iWeb site to the new domain and edit from there. Are there any pitfalls that I should be ware of due to my copying the old site (which will remain active) content and editing from there? "
From your original post it just sounds as though all you want to do is link a new domain name to your existing iWeb site. Is this correct? Then this is a simple procedure. All you need do is go to .Mac and alter your domain name under the Personal Domain name option. Then go to your domain hosting company and alter the DNS settings to use CNAME to point to web.mac.com.
Not sure whether you mean this or whether you want to upload your site directly to your domain hosting company?
There is no big deal to using an ftp program and many people here use such programs as Cyberduck, Fetch and Transmit with no problems at all. All you do is publish to a folder rather than .Mac and then upload to your web space with one of the above.
When you say "Edit from there" you won't be able to do that. Basically, your site is created with iWeb and when you want to alter pages or edit them, then you do this in iWeb. You then need to republish to a folder your edited and updated pages and then re-upload to your web space.
iWeb was designed to be used with .Mac, so obviously it is easier, but the other can be done.
As others have said, if you do use and publish to .Mac, then .Mac is your host. If you purchase a domain name, then the registering company hosts your name, but not your site. .Mac is your host and any domain name is just pointed towards .Mac.
If you purchase a domain name with a hosting package too and upload to that space via ftp, then yes, your site is hosted there instead and has nothing to do with .Mac.

  • HT2548 how do i copy the domain file from OS 10.4 to a lion OS computer?  I made a copy of the domain file and copied it to my new computer, but it doesn't open in iweb when I double-click on it.

How do I import an iweb domain file from an ibook (OS 10.4) to an imac (OS 10.73)?
I copied the domain file from my ibook to my imac, but when I double-click on the file, it doesn't open in iweb.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.  Then place the domain file in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • New-AzureDeployment - Error while copying content to a stream

    Hi All,
I am trying to deploy a packages using the Azure Powershell Cmdlets.
Each time I try to deploy a particular package, I get the following error message..
New-AzureDeployment : Error while copying content to a stream.
    At line:1 char:1
    + New-AzureDeployment -DoNotStart -ServiceName $strStagingCCPDeploymentServiceName ...
    + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (:) [New-AzureDeployment], HttpRequestException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException,Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Commands.ServiceManagement.HostedServices.NewAzureDeploymentCommand
Looking at the inner exception I am getting
Unable to read data from the transport connection: The connection was closed.
The package itself is only 80mb and uploads to my blob storage successfully however when it tries to deploy using my config file the error occurs.  The same config file works fine if I use the Azure Website to deploy the package, rather than the cmdlets
and I can deploy other packages successfully using PowerShell and using Visual Studio.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Hi,
This seems to be a network issue, but it's quite strange as you can deploy the package from Visual Studio. Could you please try it on another machine (in another network environment if possible)? Also, can you try
to write a program and call the management API (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/ee460813.aspx) to deploy it?
    Best Regards,

  • My Fantom backup drive is failing. I want to copy the time machine contents to a new backup drive and continue on as if nothing has happened.  Can I do this and if so how?  I have intel iMac running Mountain Lion.  Fantom Drive via Firewire 800.

My Fantom backup drive is failing and I have to send it in for warranty repair.  Before I do that I want to copy the time machine contents to a new drive and then use it for the backup, continuing on as if nothing had gone wrong with the first drive.  Can I do this?  Is it as simple as duplicating the first drive and replacing it with the second? New drive arrives Tuesday PM and both drives have dual firewire 800 ports.

I have used the Disk Utility to verify the contents of the backup drive so I don't think I have any corrupt files.  The drive just takes a minute or so to spin up to speed.  If I turn it off and then back on, it beeps at me for a few seconds and then starts it's slow process of trying to spin.  I think it's a power problem not a data problem.  I have my fingers crossed that it holds on until Tuesday PM when the new drive arrives.  I'm thinking that my two options are to duplicate the bad drive or partition the new drive and put the old backups on one partition and start afresh on the second partition.  Any input?
And thanks to both of you for the valuable information so far!

  • How do I copy the entire contents of my laptops failing hard drive to copy back onto a new computer.

How do I copy the entire contents of my laptops failing hard drive to copy back onto a new computer.

If the drive has failed the only way to get any data off it is to send it to a Data Recovery company. Which is very expensive and no guaranty they will be able to retrieve any data.
That is why Apple has included a system to backup your Mac on a regular basis, Time Machine. Also there are other Apps to do basically the same thing by Cloning your internal drive to an external drive. Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper. Along with using Disk Utility to Image the internal drive to an external drive.
Sorry to tell you but if the drive has really failed your Data is gone unless you pay a large sum of money to one of the Data recovery companies.

  • When to use the new file based content repository

In Service Pack 4 there's a new implementation of the CMSPI interfaces which is configured by using the following implementation class:
    com.bea.content.spi.internal.FileSystemRepositoryImpl
When should one use this new file based repository versus the existing one (configured by using the following class: com.bea.content.spi.internal.RepositoryImpl).
I've read the edocs, but it doesn't state when to use this new one compared to the previous implementation.
We consider using a third party content repository, but for the time being we will use the content repository provided by BEA.

use the new keyword when you don't have an instance of that object in memory that you want to use.  For example...
if you have an object already in memory that is holding a property with a "CamelQuery" object, then you can say
    var query = myobject.Query;
however, if you have to write the query, or instantiate the object from nothing, then you need to use the "new" keyword.  A good example is SPSite object...
if you can get a new SPSite object by either "newing one up and passing the URL" or getting the farm and getting a site from that object.
using(SPSite site = new SPSite("url to my site"))
    now I can use site.
    //or
    SPSite = myWebApp.Sites[0];
// this gives you site at index 0 of current webApp
most of the time in SharePOint you will be using the "new" keyword to open site collections, and then getting your subsites from there. BE CAREFUL using the "new" keyword. If you "new" up an object that is iDisposable... you
MUST dispose of that, but if you use that same object but it comes from the "current context", you mustn't dispose of it.
//dispose of this by using statement
    using(SPSite site = new SPSite(<url>))
    //do stuff
//after this bracket it is disposed.
    //do not dispose of this:
    SPSite mysite = SPContext.Current.Site;
//unpredictable behavior can occur because you will still need references to your current site.

  • Accessing same Content Management Repository from Multiple Domains

I'm attempting to point many different domains to a single content management repository to avoid the duplication of data.
All the domains are able to read content correctly, but when trying to create content (whether programmatically or through the admin tool), most of the domains will get this error:
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (SCHEMA_NAME.PK_CM_NODE) violated
Since there's no sequence generated in the database, it appears that the primary key is defined by something in the portal code. This seems to imply that you can't have multiple domains pointing to the same repository. Can someone confirm that they've seen this work? And if you've gotten it to work, what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks for any help,
    Dan Turkenkopf

This particular issue is inherent to the OOTB repository in WLP. The repository uses a sequencer to generate id's for created content. The way these ID's are generated causes the possibility of two applications attempting to create items with the same ID. This is due to the fact that the WLP repository manages the ID's used when creating content and doesn't currently use a GUID strategy for content id's.
You could configure another repository which does ID generation in a different fashion and avoid the persistence problem I've described.
The VCR layer which provides the access to the OOTB repository really only has the cache issue I described. This can be worked around with some custom event listener implementations that can manage stales caches. These would need to be aware of the other applications sharing the underlying content repository.

  • Creating new Domain by Copying the existing domain

Is there any way to create a new domain by copying the already existing domain directory and pasting it to another directory in same machine or different machine.
Can anyone suggest me the configuration file that needs to be updated for new domain name.

When you mention "Before posting on forum I have tried this option. I tried again but no luck." do you mean you tried pack/unpack or template approach and this did not work. Or did you just copied domain folder and renamed and start the new domain and you got errors. Copying domain may not work 100% (not in the long run). But pack/unpack or template approach should work pretty much without any errors.
As mentioned, I would recommend template approach or pack/unpack. You can provide the internal details and risk factors involved with hard disk copy of domain folder and renaming approach to the client. If domain copy approach works, then bea/oracle would not have come up with approaches like pack/unpack or template approach at all in the very first place. Copying domain folder and renaming may still work, unless you do all regression testing that includes cluster scenario also and all usecases.
I would still recommend for pack/unpack or template approach to copy any existing domains.
Just incase if your domain is like Portal Domain and if you deploy portal applications on this domain, then copying domain will just not work. Every domain is very tightly coupled with ldap files and db tables for any Security Visitor Entitlements and Delegated Admin roles. If its pure weblogic server application, these things will not come into picture. But for Portal, we do have something called Propagation Tool to migrate portal app from one domain to other domain. But still the domain cannot be copied and renamed.

  • How copy contents of iPhone to a new machine?

My old PC died.  I purchased a Mac Pro.  Now I want to use my iPhone on the Mac Pro.  However, iTunes wants to wipe out my music, apps, and other stuff on my iPhone, in order to use it on the new machine.
How can I copy my iPhone contents to my new machine, without loosing everything?

Not sure you understood my question.  I do not use my iPhone as a backup device.  With regards to my iTune library located on my dead PC, there is no way for me to transfer contents of my iPhone and music, since the computer is dead.
If I attempt to sync my iPhone to the new machine, it will wipe out the contents of my iPhone.  Is there a way to sync or copy the contents of my iPhone onto the new machine without loosing anything?

Apparently the design of my website is not user friendly. I want to easily transfer its content onto a brand new design without all the coding difficulty. Is this possible? This is the website: http://apathykills.site11.com/MyMediaPage1.htm

The difficulty is a function of your knowledge of the code behind your structure and content.
The trickiest coding can be achieved using a three column model like this.
Simple Three Column CSS Layout (Split Sidebars) - Theme Foundation
Then you can cut & paste your content into the new structure.
