Copying the file path of a file

Hi when I do Get Info for a file, I can see the search path, but I cannot copy to the clipboard so I'm left with having to type it manually. Is there a better way?

Here's some AppleScript code that will put the posix path into the clipboard. Open the AppleScript Script Editor and copy the following code into the Editor.
--PosixPath.app
on open drop_file
set posix_file to POSIX path of drop_file
set the clipboard to posix_file
display dialog posix_file
end open
Now save this as an application. Drag a file onto the application icon and the posix path will be copied to the clipboard.

  • LSMW: Error concerning the logical path in Specify Files step

    Hi,
I am trying on an ECC 6.0 EHP6 system to upload (open) POs from an existing SAP ERP system. Since I faced some complications in batch input recording method, I decided to go with the standard batch/direct input method.
I selected object 0085 (Purchase Order) and method 0001 (Purchase Order). The program that is used is RM06EEI0. I followed all the usual steps, but in the "Specify Files" step I get the message:
'****.lsmw.conv' does not exist; edit the logical path using transaction FILE
Being aware of both the FILE and SF01 transactions, I created the logical path and file (through the FILE transaction). However, after the modification, I get the message:
Logical file '****' is not assigned to physical file '****.lsmw.conv'
There is also the related SAP Note 753511 (Logical and physical path and file name in transaction LSMW) that refers to this case.

    Hi,
Click on specify file radio button>Legacy data-on the PC Front end
where input file location like C:\mydocument\desktop\test.txt
and give input in Name field: mydocument
in delimiter section > select Tabular
File structure section> tick on Field order matches source structure definition
File type: Record end marker(Text file)
then press enter key and other steps as same.
Second thing you said that you have used Batch input recording
after creation and recording finish , scroll the page below on recording and put a cursor unwanted field and remove unwanted input field.
I hope your problem will resolve. you can find the steps pdf on Google search try now.

  • How to get the Real Path of a file which is accessed  by URL?

    iam using tomcat6.0.
I have a file xyz.xml at the top of the webapplication HFUSE which i can able to access by URL
    http://localhost:8080/HFUSE/xyz.xml
My problem is how to get the realpath of the file "xyz.xml" for reading and writing purposes.
I tried various things but i could not able to successfully solved the problem?
    1) File f = new File("/xyz.xml");
print(f.getAbsolutePath()) ============== it is not fetching the file @ http://localhost:8080/HFUSE/xyz.xml rather it is creating a file
at the root of the drive where eclipse is running.
    2) File f = new File("xyz.xml");============> this is also not working , it is creating the file xyz.xml in the eclipse directory ..................
Can anyone please guide on this problem?

If you want your context root(i.e HFUSE)
    use this:
request.getContextPath() //where request is HttpServletRequest object to get the needful path.
    e.g:
File f = new File(request.getContextPath()+"/xyz.xml");//it will create the file inside HFUSE.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
BWrong. The File constructor expects an absolute filesystem path. The HttpServletRequest#getContextPath() doesn't return the absolute filesystem path, it only returns the relative path from the current context root. Use ServletContext#getRealPath() instead, it returns the absolute filesystem path for the given relative path from the current context root.
    File file = new File(servletContext.getRealPath("/"), "xyz.xml");

  • Finding the exact path of a file using a Java program

Can anyone tell me how to find the exact path of a file which is saved in a directory other than the one in which the main file is saved? I know there is a class called File which has many methods like isAbsolutePath() and isPath() but they return the path in which the main class is located

actually i m trying to write a program which will
take a name of a file or a directory from the console
and it should give the entire path of that file or
directory and this file need not be stored in the
path of the main class.....It can be stored in any
drives of my PC....Ok, then the console input needs to be an absolute path or a path relative to some given directory (usually the one from which the application is started). Java cannot magically guess absolute paths if you just provide a file name. E.g. if I'd use your program and would provide as input "build.xml", how should the program know which file by that name I mean (there are lots of build.xml files in different locations on my machine)?

    Congrats on 20k warner.
Of course, if you're going to try to use that path in a String literal, you'll have to escape the backslashes
String absPath = "C:\\blah...";In Java, most File I/O classes are smart enough to translate a path into one that works with your platform. So when using paths in say a File object, you can just use forward-slashes to be consistent and not have to escape them.

  • :-)  How can we change the default file path for Bank file ( dmee ) ?

    Hi All,
    We encounter a problem.
Electronic bank file ( created after a F110 run ) are created, in an automatic way to the DIR_TEMP directory. ( On the SAP server )
How can we change the default file path for Bank files ( dmee ) ?
We'd like to specify another path.
    Thx for your help.
    Erwan

    Hello,
Make sure that you have created the directory in transaction code AL11 with the help of basis consultants.
You can link your PC directory to the application server.
You can maintain the path whether your file needs to get saved in OBPM4 against your DMEE structure example GB_BACS etc.
If you do not maintain any path in OBPM4, then the file gets saved to temporary directory. If you give the directory path name in OBPM4, then the file gets saved to that directory with numbers 0001, 0002, 0003 etc till it reaches 9999 and reset from the beginning.
If you give the path as well as file name as ABCD, then the file gets generated to that directory folder with ABCD0001, ABCD0002, ABCD0003 etc. till it reaches ABCD9999 and reset from the beginning.
    Hope this solves your problem.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • The specified file or folder name is too long, the url path for all files and folders

The specified file or folder name is too long, the url path for all files and folders must be 260 character or less
    can we increase this limit?
    MCTS,ITIL

    Hi,
As I understand, you want to increase the length of URL path in SharePoint 2010.
Per my knowledge, this limit cannot be increased. SharePoint limits URL length because all relative URL links are stored in the clear forms on the SharePoint content DB and often this links are used as primary keys to link one table with another. Fields
which are used to store these links (for instance tp_DirName from the AllUserData table) allow storing only 256 characters.
There are several ways that you can resolve or mitigate URL length problems in the SharePoint Server 2010 environment. The following list provides suggestions:
    1. Upgrade all the end-user browsers to Internet Explorer 8, which has a longer URL length limit.
    2. Use shorter names for sites, folders, and documents and control the depth of the site and folder structures to reduce the lengths of URLs.
    3. If possible or allowed, use ASCII names for sites, folders, and documents. This will avoid situations where the URL will be lengthened by being encoded.
    4. To reduce the risk that the SharePoint Server 2010 end-users will encounter problems because of URL length limitations, we recommend that you apply the following effective limits in the deployment:
256 Unicode (UTF-16) Code units - the effective file path length limitation, including a domain/server name
128 Unicode (UTF-16) Code units - the path component length limitation

  • How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system

    Hi Firends,
How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system , whenevr i will click on browse button.
Please give reply for this one , if anybody knows.
    Thanks,
    Anderson.

    Hi Anderson,
if you're using flash.filesystem.FileReference - then it is run in black box - except of filename, size and creation data (and few other properties available after some operation succeeded). This is part of security features in Flash runtime (described in header section):
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/FileReference .html
This for example implies that user can download a content to local machine - but that content cannot be loaded back into Flash runtime. For this you would need either Air runtime flash.filesystem.File:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/filesystem/File.h tml
(so you would created Air runtime based application: desktop or mobile but not web, even as standalone project) or you would need one of 3rd party tools that add file access/file information features to standard Flash runtime applications converted to standalone native applications.
    hth,
    kind regards,
    Peter

  • How do I copy the address location of a file

    Greetings everyone,
I was wondering if someone can tell me if there is a way to copy the location of a document (or whatever) in my computer. I want to paste the location of various things into a database where I can just click on it to open it but I need the location.
I know the location is listed in the "get info" window but it does not allow you to copy it.
    Thank you.
    Marco

I dragged a .mov file to TextEdit and it showed the path. This is a plain text document - that's important (I tried it with an RTF document and it looked as if it was going to copy the code into the document, I didn't try this).
This is also on Snow Leopard, but I wouldn't have thought Leopard would have been any different. I assume you are using plain text - I would expect so as presumably you've tried this with other files and got it to work - so I don't know why you are getting different results.

  • How can I copy the layer from one .PSD file to another .PSD file?

    Hi,
Actually it is shape and mask on one layer which I want to use it on my Photoshop CS4 file. If I select all the layer and copy it to my file it just copies the shape but not the mask. How can I copy MASK to my file?
    Please do hlep.
Actually I am trying to copy the following layer.

I believe the fastest way would be to duplicate the layer and send it to the other document. Open both images. Click the document tab of the document with the shape layer. With the shape layer selected in the layers palette, right click where it says the shape layer name. Select "duplicate layer" from the context menu. In the dialog that comes up, select the document you want to copy that layer to in the destination box then press ok.
Alternately, you can open both images then pull the document frame tabs down to open both images in your workspace. Grab the shape layer in the document's layers palette by left clicking it...keep the left button pressed (hand icon should be a grab icon). While left button is still pressed, drag the shape layer over the receiving document. To make the shape layer register in the same location, press the shift key and keep it pressed. Release left mouse button while the layer is over the receiving document. Release shift key after you have released the left mouse button.
This tutorial has a good photo reference for what I mean when I say pull the image tabs down so both documents appear in the same workspace...also shows drag/drop:

You may be able to use the getRealPath or getResource methods in ServletContext

  • How to find the physical path of a file

Usually, one can use absFileNmae() method to find the path of a file in Java. The problem is that it may only return a mapped path when a Servlet or JSP is running in a special server. For example, when I run a servlet "MyProgram" in JRun, absFileName() only returns "c:\JRun\jsm-default\MyProgram", which is just a mapped path, not a real physical path.
By the way, in ASP, one can use server.mapPath("MyASPProgram.asp") to obtain the real physical path of the file.
    Your solution is welcome.
