CORBA: Using IOR with Aurora Visibroker

The problem is about Oracle CORBA session oriented:
I would like to store an IOR in an Oracle Database in order to use it
when I need the object associated but,
If I have the IOR of an object instantiated from a class placed in the
Name Service Context of an Oracle Database, this IOR is valid out of
its session if the session has finished (if this is not the case, can I have
an infinity session)? In order to use this object
must I always authenticate by user and password before or can I use
the object directly after call stringtoIOR?
I am using CORBA implementation (Aurora) of Oracle 8i.
Thank you very much and excuse my English.

No one responded to this post but I came across the solution that I will share in case anyone else needs this in the future. Although I think it's a bug in the VisiBroker code that shouldn't allow this, the problem seemed to be with OSAgent. Upon the recommendation from someone else, I started OSAgent before running JWS and everything worked appropriately. Not familiar enough with VisiBroker to know why this settled the memory leak and infinite loop issue, but it did.

  • RE: Using CORBA as Middleware with Forte'

This is one solution when the two sides want to be somewhat independent of
each other.. To use Forte messaging the environments have to be connected,
identical Forte versions, probably identical versions of all objects
involved (rather than just correct IDL), etc. I've toyed with this as well
for a client with two major Forte application development efforts occurring
    in completely different business units.

If you don't mind me asking, why would you ever want to do this? If
    you are
talking between two Forte services, why would you not want to use
    the native
protocol which is bound to be more efficient since it was written
specifically for that purpose? The only reason I can think of is if
    you
need two Forte services to talk to each other through a firewall and
    the
firewall is configured to only allow certain protocols through, such
    as
IIOP. Is this what you are trying to do? If not, what is your
    reasoning?

  • Can you use CORBA Naming Service with javax.naming.event.EventContext?

Can you use CORBA Naming Service with javax.naming.event.EventContext?
It seems like it doesn't work. When I try to do something like
    EventContext eCtx_ = (EventContext)namingCtx_.lookup("");
    I'm using JacORB's naming service.
I just want to clarify that I cannot or can use javax.naming.event.EventContext with CORBA Naming Service.

Can anyone tell me if it is doable or not doable.
I looked at the COSNaming SPI, and it seems like it doesn't implement javax.naming.event.EventContext.
    Am I correct or not?

  • Using OCCI with Oracle XA Library

Is it possible to use OCCI with Oracle XA Library?
the XA function xaoSvcCtx() can returns the OCI service handle
for a given XA connection. but how to convert it to the OCCI
    Connection class?
    any comments would appreciate
    Ray

    Hi Ravi,
We are now building CORBA application with C++. some programs
manage transaction through Transaction service(a TM of X/OPEN
DTP architecture), these programs must use XA Library.
OCCI is a wonderful tool for C++ programer, with OCCI building
a persistent layer over ORACLE is very simple.
But if OCCI not work with XA we have no choice but PRO*C or
OCI ,which's actually C style tool and hard to use especially
    in object mode.
So we hope OCCI can provide this feature in next release. and
I beleive This feature is necessary,It's very common using a
transaction monitor such as ORACLE Application Server .

    Ray

  • Re: TransactionRolledbackLocalException using EJBs with Glassfish

    Hi,
I originally tried to hijack someone else's abandoned forum thread
    TransactionRolledbackLocalException using EJBs with Glassfish
to ask my own question because it is vaguely related (there's something about "Glassfish" with both of us) but thankfully a forum moderator has split my post away.
    My question is ...
I am running two applications on a Glassfish domain (ear and war) on Glassfish version 3.1.2.2 and finding this error occurs after running for several hours and requires a Glassfish restart. So far I have been unable to reliably reproduce this issue and a server restart only appears to be a short term fix.
It seems that some sequence of events messes up container managed transactions within the ear. Any information or suggestions on how I could pinpoint the root cause would be greatly appreciated.

    Dear all,
I'm trying to compile the example provided in Technet (under Technology/JAVA-EJB&CORBA/CorbaFAQ) in order to obtain a Client C++ to invoke CORBA operations deployed with Jserver (8i). The example seems fine but it doesn't compile correctly. It seems there is a problem with the vutil.h provided with Visibroker 4.
Has anyone tried this example with Visibroker 4? In general has anyone succeeded in calling Jserver Corba objects from a C++ client application? Does it work with Visibroker 3.3?

As  Winston Churchill wrote, however you might want to do a factory reset on the Apple TV.
This way all information pertaining to your daughter will be removed from the device. Specifically if see was sign into any of the streaming service, Netflix, Hulu, etc. her credentials will still be associated with this Apple TV, doing  a factory reset will remove all that and make it as if you purchased the device and just plugged it in.

  • OPEN CURSOR using a WITH clause in the select query

    Hi,
I am using Oracle 9i. I have a requirement where I have a REFCURSOR as an OUT parameter for my procedure. I have declared the TYPE and created the procedure.
    In the procedure, I am using OPEN <cursor_name> FOR <query>;
Ideally this works in most of the cases that I have tried earlier. However, in the current case I am using a WITH clause in my query to get the results.

The answer would be in your software license agreement for Aperture. However if you cannot locate it you can ask in the Aperture forum, the link for that is:
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/professional_applications/aperture
However I believe you can have Aperture installed on two machines however only one may be using it at a time.
On the new iMac launch the Mac App Store - Purchased - look for Aperture and download to your new machine.
