  • Confused about taking another lines upgrade!!!!

January of last year, I took another phone on my line's upgrade. I can not upgrade my phone until January of 2014 (so a couple of months). The line that I took the upgrade from can not upgrade until April of 2014.... My question is is that when you take an upgrade from another line and use it does it get rid of two upgrades pretty much? I would think that it would just switch my line and the other line's upgrade times around. If someone could please answer this it would be awesome! My Iphone 4s is starting to act up and I don't know how much longer it will last me.

Swapping upgrades between lines is always a great way to get an upgrade when it's more convenient for you. Tikibar1 had a great explaination of how that alternate upgrade works. I'm here to help with your current phone too! What's been going on with your iPhone 4s? Has there been any physical or liquid damage to it? Some of the most common quirks with an iPhone can be resolved by following the steps at www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone.

  • Obsessing about backing up files-another lesson learned

finally completed putting together a very important collection.  had backed up about half of it and got into all sorts of problems when i edited stuff putside of LR. so i decided to wait before doing any more exporting to windows.
just recently came up with the idea of backing up collections to ext drive.
i waited too long between the idea and actually doing it. and the funny thing is i've been obsessing about backing up collections in the event something happened.  well, something finally did happen.
so, last night, while tired and not noticing that all files in this collection were highlighted i innocently removed one file from collection.  dumb, very dumb.
i able to retrieve about 1/3 of files that were in recently modified.  a few files had been keyworded but not all of them.  had i keyworded all of them with the name of the collection i would not be writing this.
the good news is that going over all my files again i am coming across pics that i missed the first time and i figured out a way of viewing all files more quickly.
any suggestions other than to be alert when working on LR.

If you hadn't already closed Lr down it should have been possible to use the Undo command to retrieve the files and put them back into the collection.
ALWAYS check whether Undo can get you out of trouble before doing something even more stupid that you did to begin with

  • Can no longer paste objects from one lesson to another (Captivate 4)

    Hello folks,
Until a few moments ago, I was able to copy elements (a combination of Captivate objects including text box, icon, and a text caption) from one lesson to another lesson (in a separate copy of Captivate 4). As a result of the copy/paste, I had a duplicate group of objects, complete with the same settings and x/y coordinates.
But suddenly, the only option I have after copying, is "Paste as image". Clearly, that is not what I want... I used to see "Paste Object".
Can anyone explain why I can no longer copy/paste objects?
BTW, I can still copy/paste within the same lesson.... but I can no longer copy/paste to a different lesson.
    I hope this makes sense.

    Hi there
What happens if you restart Captivate? Or even the PC? Does it return then?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Xcelsius with BW Queries taking a lot of time to open/save/publish

I have recently designed my first Dashboard using Xcelsius 2008(5.3.0.0, Build Number 12.3.0.670) connected to BW queries(we are on 7.01 SP 5) using SAP Netweaver BW Connection. While the file size jumped from 3MB(before connecting to BW Queries) to 88 MB (after the connections to BW queries). I have 10 Bex Queries embedded in the Dashboard and every time I'm trying to open the Xcelsius file, it takes a lot of time(as long as 15 minutes) and even if I make a small change and save it, it takes another 15-20 muntes and while Publishing it to BW role it is taking another 15-20 minutes.
I'm sure we are missing something here and thus running it to this issue. Can someone throw some ideas please?

Try installing Fix Pack 3.4 on your XCelsius designer. How many rows do your queries fetch?
    Regards,
    Stratos
PS: 88 MB is not a normal file size. My experience is that the size of a "healthy" dashboard should be less than 1.5 MB

  • HDR camera mode shows "Saving" for a long time after taking a picture

I noticed that after taking a photo in the HDR mode with the camera on 4.1 (4th Gen phone), the "Saving Photo" and spinning icon persist on the screen. The only way to stop it is to tape the top button on the phone, which shuts off the screen. When I go back the photo appears to be saved with no harm. Anyone else have this lag?
It makes taking another photo very slow.

You must have an older iPhone. My iPhone 4 takes about several seconds to save them, which was kinda annoying first. I'm not taking pictures in a rapid succession so I guess it is not that bad, taking into account a better quality of the HDR pics. I hope Apple fixes this delay in the future update of the iOS.
I was wondering though if we disable keeping of a non-HDR picture, would that speed it up? (Settings -> Photos -> Keep Normal Photo -> Off)
In your case, Fred, it would probably be better to shoot in a normal (non-HDR) format due to older hardware.

  • Garageband Lessons on iPad

Does anyone know if there is a way of taking the lessons/tutorials available in Garageband and putting them on the iPad.
I recently bought an upright piano and the iPad would be perfect to place on the music sheet holder as I play - rather than trying to balance my macbook on the top at tilting at an angle to see (part of) the screen.

Download them on your Mac and sync them to your iPad.

  • Mail: Forwarding: Original Sender Gets Email as Well?

I haven't been using Mail very long -- I used to use Eudora for decades and it was my definitely favorite email app. I hated Outlook et. al and when I bought my MacBook Pro and it was running 10.5.8, well, I just could not get Eudora to work. So I reluctantly had to switch to Mail, which I hated then, and hate even more now.
A couple of times, I was horrified to see that when I forwarded email from someone to my wife, and perhaps added a comment with the quoted text of the email, the original sender whose email i was forwarding got the email -- with my comment -- as well!
Since I don't know what's going on, I don't know how to explain it, but here's an example. Someone emailed me about taking some lessons (I teach Japanese). I replied and said I couldn't take her right now, which wasn't true -- she was already asking for a group discount for two people and I know the type and I just didn't want to bother with it, so I said I was too busy.
Then, I forwarded the email she had sent me, with the request for the discount, to my wife. I specifically chose the "Forward" button, my wife's address appeared in the address box, and I included some snide comment about why the woman was asking for a discount on a discount, as I'm already way cheaper than most turors.
    Still with me?
Then, later on I changed my mind and replied to the woman and told her I could fit her in, but she'd have to pay the full price. I BCCd my wife in on this email (Bcc means "Blind CC" -- meaning, as I understand it, that the main person recieving the email only sees their address in the header, and possibly "and other recipients," but not anyone else's email address or anything like that.
So, we go back and forth over various things, and occasionally I forward the woman's email to my wife, again, with comments, that I OBVIOUSLY don't want this woman to see.
Okay, no problems there -- before I click "Send" I make sure my wife's address, and ONLY her address, is in the address field, as I'm just forwarding an email.
Yet today, when I went to check what time this person is coming, I see all the emails that we've ever exchanged including the very first one, all one after another -- her emails, my replies etc. But then, in the middle of all these, I suddenly see the email I forwarded to my wife with the snide comment in it! How the **** did it get in there, and is it possible that email was also sent to this woman as well, so she read my comment?
Other odd things have happened when I've forwarded things to my wife -- a reply, perhaps, from someone we both know but with my previous emails, NOT MEANT to be read by my wife, somehow in the chain!
Now I'm ultra paranoid. Has this woman received those emails I sent to my wife (I thought) and read my snide comments? Why on erth would Mail include, in this bck and forth with this woman -- maybe ten emails in all, suddenly a forwarded email to my wife? It should not be in the chain at all, since it was NOT sent to the woman, merely forwarded to my wife.
Is Mail sending emails to people with their email addresses being visible in the address fields without my knowledge? Has this woman read my snide comments (and my wife's replies to them!) and even if not, why are those back-and-forths with my wife doing in the same chain as the emails to this woman? They technically should have no connection to the woman, since they were nit addressed to her, merely forwarded.
And are people seeing who I'm Blind CCing? Mail certainly is an effed-up app -- it's very badly putr together and just serves to remind me that Apple has really put some horrific software into their systems over the years, and seemingly with every new iteratioon and every new OS, the apps just get worse and less intuitive, not the opposite, with NO WAY to downgrade. If I had my way, this MacBook would be running Tiger. with iMovie from 2004 (same for all the iLife apps -- they've degenerated into Microsoft-like unusable messes).
But I'm seriously worried about this Mail issue -- the last thing I want is for people to be receiving emails that I'm not aware are being sent.
And I REALLY wish Eudora functioned on this machine -- I don't know why it doesn't but it keeps giving me error messages. But that's a separate problem.
Anyone else experienced anything like this?

    Thanks, guys . . .
I kind of knew that Mail couldn't possibly be sending emails to people without my being aware of it but I just wanted to double check.
As far as the other email programs go, for some insane reason all the ones I try (Thunderbird, for one) have problems connecting with my SMTP (outgoing) server. In one case, there's no way to change my account setting from IMAP to POP . . . the way these programs are set up, just configuring your settings requires a B.S. in network technology . . . every time these things happen, I end up on the phone with the local ISP for two hours and most of them have no idea what a Mac is  . . .
I think in this case I wll just stick wth the Devil I Know. Every email program has its drawbacks and Mail is clunky and unintuitive but thank God, it integrates with SpamSieve, the only junk mail killer that really, really works (I just learned how WELL it works when I tried Thunderbird and it downloaded all the mail I'm REALLY getting s opposed to the mail that I end up seeing -- for every legit email that SpamSieve lets through, there are at least 75 that it doesn't. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm inundated with at LEAST 400 junk emails A DAY for my two accounts and without SpamSieve I'd be in the First Circle of ****, but I digress).
It's been a year now with Mail and although I despise it at least now I think I'm getting used to it, and your reassurances about people getting unwanted mail definitely removed my last doubts.
I'll stick with Mail, since the others don't look exactly like champs either, and just pray Apple doesn't "Upsdate" anything for a good long while.
    Cheers, mates
    Nick

  • CC 7.1: Ridiculous render times since upgrading to mavericks

This is my first time editing a project in Premiere Pro CC7.1 since upgrading to Mavericks. Playback was running very glitchy while trying to play a very simple composition imported from AE. Just a basic motion graphic, nothing too heavy. My computer froze and reset 2 times while trying to play it before rendering, so I am now rendering the sequence to see if this will solve the issue and it's rendering 1 frame every 15-20 seconds.
In the past this same operation would have taken 10-15 seconds total to render.
I'm using a brand new MacBook Pro Retina 15" 2.7GHz with 16GB of RAM.
Has anyone else had this issue and/or any suggestions on how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance!!

I have been seeing this and a wide variety of similar problems - the Adobe-Mac community appears to be exploding on the issue of CC and Macs/Mavericks esp. in the last few weeks. A ton of problems people are having after a recent update of Adobe CC program or programs. I see blame being tossed everywhere, and this doesn't look like it's going to die down and go away by itself.
    Just my .02, but...
Every major OS upgrade is going to throw off problems with 3rd party (and even 1st party) software as developers identify and squash bugs and incompatibilities - this can take months to work itself out. And is a predicable outcome from having multiple programmers working independently on anything that works together.
Rolling back an OS is often not a viable option. Rolling back a software update is usually easier. Messing about with lots of moving parts can easily compound a problem. So can skipping a step in a complicated set of instructions or following the wrong set of instructions.
A recommendation based on my personal opinion & 20+ years of experience: Don't try to roll back Mavericks, but do roll back to the previous version of CC (before 7.1). If you use Time Machine (and it ran after the Mavericks upgrade and before the CC 7.1 update), this should be pretty easy to do.
Take the time to first make a complete & manual backup of your system to an external drive (if you've got the money, a clone of your hard drive, otherwise an image of your hard drive on something other than your internal hard drive), and a separate live backup of your personal files on an external drive. Just in case...
If you don't/didn't use Time Capsule or the above didn't solve the problem, then you might need to consider one of two options:
Uninstall CC completely, and install CC 'one version' prior to the one that gave you problems. So if you're using Pr 7.1, go back to 7.0. Here's instructions on how to completely remove CC: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and here's instructions for how to get an older version of a CC program: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/download-previous-versions-creative-applications. html or http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=98&platform=Macintosh
Rollback the OS to Mountain Lion, but recognize this isn't a trivial exercise and may result in compounding problems, esp. if you ignore a first step of taking a complete backup and/or don't follow the instructions to the letter. Here's a tutorial: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6162
Here's a related thread (one of many) with useful info: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5983648#5983648
Like brain surgery (which I've had!), results can vary from one system to another, and you need to own treating every computer as a unique entity. It's hard to exactly replicate a problem even with identical hardware and software/OS. That's another way of saying that all of this is not an iron-clad fix for your problems (my disclaimer) - use at your own risk.
And when you're out of the heat of the moment, please take this opportunity to learn the lesson of backup (that 97% of computer users haven't), and recognize that Time Machine is so very worthwhile to have in your wheelhouse.
Those of us in production environments (or not) can certainly choose to play the blame game, but imo these problems are a result of all our choices:
Apple for not allowing more extensive beta testing
Adobe for not taking full advantage of said beta testing
Power/production users for upgrading anything in a production environment before a) enough time has gone by that show-stopper problems are both identified and resolved and/or b) deploying on a non-production machine and fully testing before trying it out on a production machine.
Being in a production environment to me equates to balancing a need for current software/features against having a stable working environment. I generally put more emphasis on the latter. This is another lesson to learn once you're beyond the heat of the moment and to then keep in your wheelhouse.
    And please Adobe:
Own the problem (even if you don't publicly admit it here or anywhere else - I'm personally fine with that)
Don't point fingers, it stirs a pot not worth stirring
Figure out the problem and fix it! It's gonna take time, so please get started if you haven't already.
Giving us progress updates would be nice, but if that's too hard or reputationally risky, skip that but keep working on fixing the problem. Please?

  • Linked objects

Is there a way to have external objects like a frame work
with pages in an external file that is linked and ran in another
lesson with out jumping out and returning? I am looking for a way
to simply insert an external framework at runtime. Like the
    libraries do with media.

Of course, what we're not telling you is that at least one of
    the features
you listed does exist, and another one probably does
    depending on what you
meant by the terminology you used. However, you've made it
    quite clear you
find it insulting when people volunteer information that
    conflicts with what
you believe to be the truth.
No, I found if offending to be told that My lessons where
built wrong. If the features I want are in Authorware then I
expected to be told how to use them in the lessone I already have.
Not informed I did it wrong to begin with and should just atrat
over. I did not want a list of things i should have done I wanted a
list of things to do to what I already had. I am not useing a
database so there was no need in telling me I should have been. I
did not like hearing the tone that if I had done it "right" to
begine with I would not have my problem. I explained what I had. If
you could not give me help with it then that is what you should
have said. Instead of insulting my current lessons. Yes my last
post was an over reaction. I agree with that. I needed help but all
I got was dirogitory commints about not building my lessons
correctly. Not takeing advantage of Authorware's Features. Steve
had answered my question. Authorware does not have the feature I
need to make my lessons do what I want them to do. None of your
comments came close to contridicting that but instead listed all
sorts of good feature but that had nothing to do with my current
    lessons.
It is not my intent to insult or cause trouble but I do
believe I have a right to express my feeling of being insulted. As
experts I do expect the two of you to be able to take problems and
    find real solutions.
"But you didn't ask about those ways." This is not what you
should have said. I did not need this slap in the face. I did not
need a list of what i should have done before. I needed a list of
    what i should do now.
I need a way to take map icons with frameworks in them and
set a system to have them edited with out haveing to repackage the
    complete timeline.
I have a master framework where each map is placed. Each of
these are modules or objectives. Each of these in turn has topics
in map icons on the module framework. The topics are maps with
another framework with the pages in place. That is 3 layers of
frameworks. I need to be able to edit each module seperatly and
have the orginale timeline already packaged able to pickup the
changes made to the modules. We store the modules individually. We
have a packaging process where all modules for each lesson are
gathered into the lesson timeline and packaged into a final
exeicutible that is presented to the students.
I need to find a way of removing the last packaging part. I
need the lesson time line already in exicutable format but capable
of calling the modules as if the modules a already in the lesson. I
have no database to use. The jumpout and return fails because of
the lessons time line having all the navigation controls over the
modules. The lesson timeline also has all the data collection code.
Now I tryed to ask this in the most simple mannor and Steve said
there was not a way. That seems to be a common answer for
    Authorware.
If you know a way then please let me know with out telling me
I did it wrong in the first place. For one thing I did not do it in
the first place. If I had I hope I wouold have done it like you
have sudgested. The more "it can not be done" I get the better
teverage i have to ask to rebuild every thing from scratch.
I am sorry for blasting like I did. I am sure you get
    frustrated as well.

  • ITunes, iCloud, iPhone - Majority of music unavailable

    Argh!
Okay, so my story goes like this. I've just received my new iPhone 4s, 64GB. I optd for a massive 4s over a teeny weeny 5.
I have a massive collection of CDs that i wanted to add to my new 64GB phone - i was very selective over my music with my old 4s due to size however with my new 64GB, i stupidly thought, i can load every CD onto my phone, Woo!
So yesterday i spent all day putting CD's in and out of my computer adding everything to iTunes and my library. I now have 3056 songs available on iTunes. So on completion i try to sync all of my music onto my iPhone - I knew this would take a while. So i went away and when i came back it looked like it had all finished. So i look in my music on my iPhone and immediately see that my favoutire band has 11 albums on my phone... strange because i know for a fact, coz they are my fav band, i have 15 albums and have recently downloaded one from iTunes. So I go to one of the albums and try to play a song... it starts skipping all tracks and ends up playing a song later on in the album!?!? WTef!?!?
So i go to another band, same happens. I go to a band i have downloaded from iTunes and who have not come from a CD and there is clouds with downward red arrows. With a different band, theres red circles with squares in the middle. WT- EFFFFF!?!?
I go to iTunes, some songs in my library have we a wee cloud next to them so i click on them (download from iCloud) - seems sensible to download all songs from iCloud to my library. I try sync-ing everything again... i have 2568 songs out of 3056 and the majority of them dont play.
    What The ____!?
I am sick, just sick. I hate iOS7. I regret downloading it immediately.
Can anyone help me? Please, anyone? Some of my favourite songs will not play or download, FAVOURITE SONGS! I was enjoying them the other day!
    WHAT IS GOING ON!?
If no-one is able to help... would anyone like want a shiny black iPhone 4s, 64GB, unlimited everything very cheap otherwise its taking flying lessons. I 100% regret renewing my contract for my phone...
    Should of went to specsavers...
Then the Samsung or HTC store afterwards!

  • Remove Led dj lighting flicker from footage in post

Ok I had this down before but now lost it. Someone online suggested taking another example of the video and dropping it on the time line above. Then change the frame rate by 2 and use the opacity to to blend between the two videos. Can someone point me to where this was expalined? Or how to make the copied clip to modify it's frame rate? This actually does work well just as long as it is not fast motion. Thank you.
    David

    Hi David,
I recently shot a band with LED stage lighting and I had this problem.  After I found your/this post, I tried your suggestion with some variations.   My footage is pretty dark and includes a lot of red, purple and pink hues. I shot at 1280x720 @ 59.97 (7D).
Duplicating footage ontop of each other
Keep the same frame rate, offset by 1 frame
Top/Overlaid footage opacity 100%, Blend Mode: Darken
If you have any plugins, effects, color corrections, be sure to include them on BOTH files.
You'll notice that the flickering has been reduced and some information is compromised (the drumstick in the first segment) so there's still a downside.  While this is an improvement, this is not a definitive solution.  The real solution is to have your gear set up to avoid these types of situations (this is my hard lesson, as well).

  • I don't think I'm buying anther Lenovo product again

Let me preface this message by stating that I'm a bit agitated since I just got off the phone with a Lenovo customer service representative in Atlanta Georgia that basically called me a liar.
I am a IT MSP for a number of small companies in my area. I concentrate on small business with less than 50 users. Up until March of this year I always recommended that my customers buy Lenovo when they buy new laptops/desktop. Since 2010 I've probably bought about $20K worth of Lenovo equipment. Since I'm small it was usually through NewEgg or other retail outlets as I don't have the volume to be a reseller.
So anyway, in March one of my customers calls me and asks me to find him a decent laptop for a new employee. Sure, easy enough. I hop on NewEgg, as usually I pick Lenovo in the filters, select Windows 7 and find a decently priced e530c that will meet the customer's needs. The specifications clearly state the laptop is preloaded with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit with the option to upgrade to Windows 8. We don't want to use Windows 8 so that's why this is the option I chose.
The laptop shows up a couple days later and when I turn it on it is preloaded with Windows 8. I call Lenovo to see how I can get Windows 7 on there which the specifications said it had. They said I can't as this isn't a Windows 7 laptop and I must take this issue up with NewEgg. Okay, fair enough. I call NewEgg and they have me return the laptop and say they'll send one that should have Windows 7 on it. A week later I get the laptop (e530c again), right out the gate the laptop won't get past the post screen. Comes up with a bios error. Call up Lenovo, same thing, they tell me to call NewEgg.
A little frustrated at this point I am asked by NewEgg to do another RMA but since  I'm running short on time I decide to buy another laptop so I didn't have to wait a week and just get credit for the bad one. Which I do and finally I get a fully functional e530c with Windows 7 Pro on it. I'm really happy about this, as I didn't want to ditch Lenovo at that point and it seemed everything was finally working as advertised.
So I load the laptop with our standard company programs, get it joined to the domain, and get it to the new employee. All is well...for a short while.
A couple months in to the user using this system he starts report weird issues with his computer coming to an absolute stall but the problem is intermittent and hard to reproduce. So I try to troubleshoot as best I can (disabling services, getting rid of any drivers that aren't strictly needed, even going as far as getting rid of the audio driver which really annoyed my user). Yet, still, I get the same complaints in addition to the user sometimes seeing CPU fan errors on the post screen (again intermittent). One day when I'm at their shop doing unrelated work the issue appears, and I finally see what the user sees. We decide the best course of action at this point is to buy an HP laptop to get the user going and I'll troubleshoot the issue with Lenovo support.
So last Thursday I spent about a total of 6 hours on the phone with support. They were friendly, but I felt like they weren't really doing anything that was meaningful in finding the issue (run a memory test and call back, run a hard drive test, and call back, etc). All tests passed, I even went to do a fresh Windows 7 installation after formatting the drive to verify it wasn't a driver issue (and saw the problem on the Windows 7 install screen which the support person agreed must be due to hardware). They finally said they would ship me a box to send the laptop back to them, the box would have a form for me to fill out detailing the issues and it would get the laptop back to Lenovo overnight.
Great! I get the box, fill out the form, pack everything, drop off at UPS and go on about my Friday. Today at 3am I get an email from Lenovo with nothing in the body of the message, just an excel sheet called PC DR Network Factory Final Tests.xls
This spreadsheet implies there is nothing wrong with the laptop so I call Lenovo in the hopes that they don't ship the laptop back yet as I clearly detailed there is something wrong with it. Apprently it's too late, they are already shipping it and there is nothing the support person can do. He tells me to call back when I get the laptop after I see if I get the same issue (which clearly I will since they didn't do anything). I then explain the situation to the support person about why this is very frustrating and why I can't be sitting here for the next month going through this same process. He got very rude, started calling me a liar since he didn't see the first 2 RMAs (which were done by NewEgg) and got mad at me when I told him it's clearly a hardware issue since the post screen comes up with CPU fan errors and Windows 7 installation issues (he said I never told them that, even though I am looking at a copy of the form I filled out for them which they got with the laptop).
So to make long story short: Lenovo, your support sucks. I was a loyal customer with you for a long time, but I'm never purchasing anything from you again. I will continue to sit here and try to get this laptop working even if it means I have to send it back to you 10 times (forcing you to pay for overnight shipping to and from each time). But I already replaced the laptop with an HP so that my user isn't affected. I don't know if the business I have done with you isn't big enough to put me on your list of people you give a crap about but even if I had only ever purchased on thing from you I would have expected better. By far the worst support experience I've ever had, and I've dealt with Dell, HP, and even Acer which all had better support than you did.

So just to give an update on this thread.
It has been absolute hell getting Lenovo to replace the laptop but they finally did it. And they did it from what they call their "entitlement department". What kind of insulting name is that?
Anyway, after the above post I got the run around for about another month. After the second return Lenovo suggested I take the laptop in to a certified repair center they had here in town. The lady there was absolutely awesome, she saw the issue, saw what I was talking about, but couldn't help me because she couldn't identify with certainty what was causing the problem and since she couldn't do that Lenovo would not authorize any parts to be sent to her (yes, seriously).
Once I finally got transferred to the entitlement department the first lady was nice, made sure I got in touch with a support person that would document my issue properly and escalate it. After this I sent the laptop back only to get it back again with the same issue.
So I called back, got the run around from a different person in entitlement. She told me to call sales. When I asked her why I would call sales when I didn't buy the laptop from Lenovo she had no good answer but insisted I do it. So I called sales and they laughed as to why they directed me to sales. So I called back entitlement and talked to a very helpful lady named Rosa. She finally did what she could do to get  this resolved for me, which was escalate it to a supervisor (a process that would take 48 hours).
The supervisor, Daryl, was also great. He didn't give me any kind of run around just asked for a receipt. Once I provided that he shipped me a brand new laptop (with better specs since they no longer made the 530c) and I had it within 2 days. I will be testing and setting up the laptop this weekend but from initial testing I did in the limited time I had the laptop seems to run great.
So my lesson from this is that Lenovo really needs to get their **bleep** together. They do have people there that care and are willing to help. But they also have far more people that are absolute clowns and have absolutely no willingness to help you. Many things I asked to have noted weren't noted, records of me shipping the laptop back to them were lost in some cases, and even the people that were trying the best they could to help me had their hands tied by Lenovo's policies.
Due to this I will still likely never buy another Lenovo again. But I am glad this issue was finally resolved. They are sending me a box to send back the bad laptop which I'm sure will be resold as refurbished unit to some poor soul that might not ever find a resolution due to the laptop losing it's warranty in April.
Another lesson as mentioned above is not to buy from sites like NewEgg for critical business computers. You have no idea what you are getting and it's much better to find a reputable local partner for a company like HP, Dell, or Lenovo that strictly does business sales as I'm sure they have far more resources to help you when you run in to the type of situation that I ran into.

  • Multiple users/devices on one PC

We have three devices in our household, all identified by the same apple user id and password. (probably the first mistake.) The PC recognizes the three separate devices, but I cannot sync my device (iphone 4s) without getting all of my husband's apps, music, etc. How can we avoid this? What steps do we need to take to avoid getting one another's information and preferences? I cannot continue to delete his apps from my phone after plugging into the PC. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks. Sorry for my ignorance, but how do we go about that? We've been doing it this way (one user id) for years and it recently became a problem bc work employer wiped my phone mistakenly, as I am taking another job. I went on to try and get stuff back, and became frustrated by having all of my husband's music, etc. Is there a step by step process to change one user but still have access to our shared music?
