Core component in image

Hi ,
Is it a best practice to keep VC ++ reditributable for both x64 and x32 version (2008,2010,2012) in a image?
OS image will be x64 and might run x86 applications as well.
Regards,

Both methods have pro's and con's.
Baked into the WIM image
Advantage:
Image deploys faster
No need for custom installs in TS
Disadvantage:
Static (if changes/update come out, your image does not reflect them)
Base image might need (lengthy) updates
Deployed after WIM
Advantage:
Dynamic (updates can easily be incorprated)
No need to update base image
Disadvantage:
Depoyment takes (a bit) longer
You may need to update the application, as updates come out
For me, I use a combination of both; older versions (whom do no longer receive updates) I baked into the WIM, while the others, I deploy as an application. This constitutes the proverbial "best of both worlds".
Hope this helps,
Martin

    i found out the solution.
    we can check dependencies by opening Properties percepective
    workbench->window->showview->other->general->properties.
    this will show incoming references=where these processes are used.
    outgoing->this processes uses which process.

  • HTML Editor component and images

    Hi All!
    I know that the HTML editor component does not support images currectly.
    BUT: I though if I directly insert image link tags (<--img src="..."/-->) into the content of the editor, maybe it could work.
    So I tried.
    I realized the followings:
    - The image displays perfectly within the editor if the image link is outside of the database (remote link).
    - But, the image does not displays at all, if it is a server side LOB.
    (I use the server side image displaying procedure discussed in a few topic in this forum, and it works on a lot of pages in my application, and also on this page where the html editor is, BUT not IN the html editor).
    I'm using Firebug for Firefox, so I was able to track down what is happening in the background (while accessing images). I got this:
    The working image access (which is outside the html editor component) sends this request to the server:
    Request Headers
    Host     127.0.0.1:8080
    User-Agent     Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13

    Cache-Control     max-age=0
    The response for this is the correctly displaying image (of course).
    The non-working image access (which is within the html editor) send this:
    Request Headers
    Host     127.0.0.1:8080
    User-Agent     Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; hu; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13

    Connection     keep-alive
    Referer     http://127.0.0.1:8080/i/fck/editor/fckeditor.html?InstanceName=P21_NEW_MESSAGE&Toolbar=Default
    The response for this is:
    "The requested URL /i/fck/editor/KVIZ.image_display was not found on this server"
    I think the problem is the boldface referer.
    Can you (Gurus :) ) add any comment on this?
    Maybe a trick to avoid my problem?
    Sorry for being so long.
    Thank in advance,

  • Editing IPTC core 16 bit images

    Does bridge CS3 support editing the IPTC core on 16 bit images? I've been working with a photographer that has a 16bit work flow and I noticed that the IPTC fields of the 16bit files are not populated nor can they be edited.
    If you look at the file info in PS everything is there and can be edited.
    I'd also like to know if the data fields of the "metadata" tab from PS is accessible from bridge. I can't seem to find the fields that correspond to that pane. These images are for Getty submissions so the Keywords and release status are critical.
    Thanks
    Brian

    Strange
    If you can add metadata to the IPTC fields in PSCS you must see them in Bridge and also should you be able to edit the fields that have the pencil icon at the end in the metadata panel.
    To be sure could you try to develop and save a raw file from your own production in ACR using the 16 bit option and see if you can edit this files at the desired places?
    If this is also not possible you could try the purge cache for folder option via the tools menu and even the reset preferences for Bridge option with restarting it while holding down the option key and choose refresh preferences.

  • How to reinstall Lync server 2013 Core Component Server Applications

    Hi Would like to know how to register back the core server applications and where can i find the priority list. I incidentally
    removed the server applications (ClientVersionFilter, IIMFilter, VoIP Apps and EumRouting and Outbouding) when i removed my MSPL script application from the pool. I missed out to put my script
    app name after pool name when i run the command remove-cstrustedapplication. Then, it removed all the core apps from that pool.
    I found that .am files and .exe files are still in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Core and tried
    to register back using cmdlets but not very sure about the priority of the apps. Or can I install RTCHost.exe? Now Outgoing call is not working. Please kindly help. Thanks in Advance.

    Oh.. thank you very much both
    Saleesh and Eric. I will try it.
    What I did is that I used the cmdlets New-CsServerApplication and registered the server apps (checked the server apps
    list from testing fe server) like how I register MSPL script app. But I may miss out some components since testing fe server uses Standard Edition. I registered my
    MSPL script app back too, but after a while Lync Front End Service keeps on stopping.  I am not sure that
    MSPL script or missing components which one causes to stop front end service. Now I am checking the event viewer logs.
    If I run add-remove Lync component wizard on the server, will it remove any other settings like removing users from
    pool? or it just install/unstall lync server core components only?
    Many thanks!

  • Will Intel Core Duo image work with Intel Core 2 Duo image

    I soon need to start preparing an image for the next school year since we are soon going to start moving into a completely new campus which images will need to be ready for lab imaging over the summer and the sooner I can have a lab image ready to be tested the better, but my question is......
    If I create an Intel image on a "Intel Core Duo Processor " which we have currently, to then create this image and then push out two two complete brand new labs of what will be "Intel Core 2 Duo Processors"
    I know in the past I have created images on the highest PowerPC computer (G5) and had the image on G3's, G4's, G5's etc. an work. I'm not sure if the difference in the processor will require the image to be made on the very same computer or not. If so, we will need to purchase one.
    Anyways..... just wondering if someone has already tested this or played around with it?
    Thanks,
    Carter

    The build version on the Core Duo models is not the same as the build version on the Core 2 Duo models. These individual builds are customized for their respective hardware. The only version of OS X that will be common for all Intel models will be a public build version that supercedes both custom builds.
    The extant builds are here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303315. However, the table does not include the latest Core 2 Duo MBP.
    If you upgrade all Intel Macs to 10.4.8 then an image of that version of OS X should be common to all Intel Macs.

  • Image content not defined in TileList

    I have two images on a canvas, one is directly on the canvas using inline code, the other is embedded in a tilelist. Both images render. When I click and drag the inline image, the drag proxy appears normally. When I click and drag the image in the tile list, I get an error when I try to make a copy of the bitmap. This is occurring because the content of the image in the tile list is NULL, even though the source value is correct and the image has been loaded. I'm assuming this is some sort of itemRenderer issue, but I'm not clear on how it retains the source of the image, but not the content. If it's duplicating the image and referencing another bitmap, how do I access that bitmap?
    The code is below with the exception of the image.

    Accessing items in containers when renders are used can be problematic, because Flex recycles the items for large data sets.
    So this code works fine but uses a Repeater. You may have to do some thinking to rework your concept, but this works:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">
      <mx:Script>
        <![CDATA[

          import mx.managers.DragManager;
          import mx.core.DragSource;
          [Bindable] private var images:ArrayCollection=new ArrayCollection([
            "assets/images/BobSmith.jpg"
          private function mouseMoveHandlerTileList(event:MouseEvent):void {
            var image:Image=Image(event.currentTarget);
            if (image){
              initiateDrag(event, image);
          private function mouseMoveHandlerImage(event:MouseEvent):void {
            var image:Image=Image(event.currentTarget);
            if (image){
              initiateDrag(event, image);
          private function initiateDrag(event:MouseEvent, image:Image):void{
            var dragInitiator:Image=image;
            var ds:DragSource = new DragSource();
            ds.addData(image, "item");
            var dragProxy:Image = new Image;
            var data:BitmapData=Bitmap(image.content).bitmapData.clone(); //image.content is not null for imageon canvas, but is null for image in tile list
            dragProxy.source=new Bitmap(data);
            DragManager.doDrag(dragInitiator, ds, event, dragProxy);
        ]]>
      </mx:Script>

  • Drag and Drop image is Duplicated

    Hi,
    In my code, I want to drag and drop an image from a list populated from a folder, and its information is populated from an xml file. Now, I can drag the image from the list and drop it in the container, However, when now, I want to drag around the dropped image, it is duplicated, an extra image is created in the canvas. So, if anyone can tell me how not to create an extra copy of the image in the new container (canvas) that it was dragged to.

    your handleDrop is called twice. you have assigned this eventlistener twice - one in init function and one in inline.

    You need outerDocument, and the method cannot be private, it should be public:
    complete="outerDocument.aMethod(event)"

    i have made some changes, in the php part too, and following is the resulting code( i tried it, and found that it works.):
    PHP Code:
    <?php
    echo '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>';
    ?>
    <root>
    <images>
    <?php
    //Open images directory
    $dir = dir("images");
    //List files in images directory
    while (($file = $dir->read()) !== false)
    if (eregi("gif", $file) || eregi("jpg", $file) || eregi("png", $file))
    echo "<image>" . $file . "</image>"; // i expect you to use the relative path in $dir, not C:\..........
    //$dir->close();
    ?>
    </images>
    </root>
    Flex Code:

  • Webcenter crashing with core dump

    Hi All,
    Once in a while Webcenter(11.1.1.5) is crashing and generating core dump and the error message is same evertime. We tried to research on addPartialTriggerListeners and found this kind of behaviour is a bug in apache trinidad version 1.2.5-core and is fixed in 1.2.7-core. But the webcenter we are using as version 1.2.12. Also the issue seems to be comming from webcenter/adf framework itself as none of our code uses addPartialTriggerListeners.
    Please help us resolve this issue as we are getting this issue in our production environment and we need to fix this asap.
