Costing for components

Dear all,
With respect to the above subject, we are trying to calculate the costing
for the semifinsihed material using a T-code CK11N.
But, Most of the operations carried out by the job workers are on our
machinery. So, whenever we are creating a routing for operation in our
factory we are mentioning the work center and the control key as PP02. But,
when we are trying to capture operation cost for the PP02 it is taking
only the cost which is mentioned in the purchase info records or which is
mentioned in routing.
So, please specify what necessary change in the fields are required so that we can capture the
exact cost of the components.
Best regards,
Shailesh

How about creating Activity Types for each machine and assiging these activities to the material BOM? The cost centre(s) assigned to the corresponding work centres will help calculate the unit cost for the sake of product costing.
Cheers.

  • How to get unit cost for finished goods in prod order

    HI all,
IN a production order of type PP04, there is cost analysis you can get from CO03.  This shows the cost for finished goods and BOM components.  Would anyone know how the cost for finished goods are calculated ?  The issue i have is that the unit cost of the finished goods is not correct.  It is higher than what it should be.  I looked at the moving avg price at material master but the cost used in calculation is different than in material master.   Can anyone shed light how finished goods are calculated and why it is picking up a higher unit cost ?  Where is the higher cost coming from  for finished goods material as shown in CO03 ?  The BOM materials are picking unit cost correctly.  Would this have anything to do with cost settlement ?
    thank you.
    joyce

    Hi,
Finished goods price will depend on BOM componenet price,  activity price and overhead price. Check whether this prices are picking correctly or not.

  • Break up of raw material cost for released finished materials

    Hi All,
I have searched various threads before posting this question.
Is there any standard report available to view the breakup of raw material cost for a release finished material.
I have cost component split report but it shows everything in raw materials.... is there any report to show a break up of this raw materials cost.
If there is no standard report can you please how I should develop a customized report.
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Dear Srinivas,
You will get the cost breakup in the following report:
    CK84_99 - Itemization
    CK86_99 - Costed Multilevel BOM
    CK80_99 - Cost Components
You will get the same information in CK13N
From the standard SAP,  no report will show breakup for all the materials in single report at a time.
We have developed the report through ABAP functionality

    Hi,
I want to display cost of the components in CS11 / CS12 / CS13 T.codes Std SAP will not display the cost of components. for this they have given note 177006 and asked to change some manual correction. In the post processing of the note they have asked put "your_display_profl" This is making me confusing I wanted know whether I want to create a new display pofile using CLVL t.code or can I make the correction as said by SAP "your_display_profl". Could some body guide me in this regard.

  • Production costs for material with price control V

    Dear all,
Can anyone pls tell me, how will the costing occur for a material produced in-house and having price control 'V' ? I am not able to see the target costs.
Also kindly tell me the settings to be done in CO, like target cost version, valuation variant, costing variant, etc.
    Thank you,
    Shrenik

Rather than giving my own versions I have compiled here SAP inputs. Pl let me know if you require any clarifications:
Costing variant has the following components:
    <b>Define Costing Types
    Define Valuation Variants
    Define Date Control
    Define Quantity Structure Control
    Define Transfer Strategy
    Define Reference Variants</b>
    <u>Costing type:</u>
In the costing type, you define the purpose of a material cost estimate by specifying, for example, which field in the material master record the costing results can be transferred to:
    Update Cost Estimate
Standard price Standard cost estimate (01)
    Tax-based price Inventory cost estimate
    Commercial price Inventory cost estimate
Price other than std price Modified standard cost estimate or
    current cost estimate
    No update Any cost estimate
    Define Valuation Variants:
    Define Valuation Variants
Here you create a valuation variant containing the parameters required for valuation of a cost estimate.
You also specify which costing sheet should be used to calculate overhead.
    Valuation Strategies
    Material valuation
Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices from the accounting view or costing view of the material master record to valuate materials. You can also access prices from purchasing info records and condition types.
For material cost estimates, you also specify whether additive costs can be added to the selected price.
With configurable/configured material components and with procurement alternatives, the sequence defined here is ignored if the strategy "price from purchasing info record" was selected, in which case that strategy is always executed first. For more information, refer to the SAP Library in the component Product Cost Planning under Raw Material Costing or Mixed Costing.
    Activity Types / Processes
Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices in activity type planning or actual activity price calculation in Cost Center Accounting or Activity-Based Costing to valuate the utilized activity types and business processes.
You also specify which plan/actual version is used.
    Subcontracting
Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices in the purchasing info record. In purchasing, quota arrangements are used to create a mixed price for materials that are manufactured with external vendors with parts provided by the customer. You can specify whether the quota of the individual vendors that are entered in the source list for the material to be processed should be determined through the planned quota arrangement or the actual quota arrangement.
    External processing
Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices in the purchasing info record or routing operation for valuation of the external activities.
    Strategy Sequence
You define the individual valuation methods for the valuation variant as strategy sequences. For the valuation of the material components you define a strategy sequence that reads the fields of the material master record in a particular sequence such as:
    1. Planned price 1
    2. Standard price
    3. Moving price
The first price that is not zero is used to valuate the material component.
    Target versions:
Target cost versions  are used in the following ways:
    In variance calculation:
To control which variance (total variance, production variances or planning variance) is calculated
To valuate unplanned scrap( scrap variance)
Unplanned scrap is valuated in the period-end closing activities when the variances are calculated. You can specify in a valuation variant for WIP and scrap which cost estimate you want to use to calculate the target costs for the valuation of unplanned scrap. You assign the valuation variant to target cost version 0 if you want to include it in the valuation of scrap.
When you are using a cost object hierarchy with active distribution, you use the target cost version to control which cost estimate the system uses to calculate the target costs, which are used as the basis for determining equivalences for actual cost distribution.
The actual costs collected at the level of the hierarchy are distributed across the orders in accordance with these equivalences. This distribution is proportional to the target costs for the cost element under which the actual costs are written. Actual costs for material costs are distributed in proportion to the target costs for the origin group, such as for the material, if you have entered an origin group in the costing view of the material master record and have set the indicator Material origin, for example.
If no target costs were calculated under this cost element, enter a cost element group in the target cost version. The actual costs are distributed in proportion to the target costs for this cost element group. This cost element group should be complete. If costs were updated under a cost element that is not in this cost element group, no distribution is possible.
You can calculate equivalences on the basis of SAP standard target cost versions 0, 1 and 3.
The standard system supplies the following target cost versions:
Target cost version 0 ( total variance)
The amount of the total variance generates a posting in Financial Accounting during settlement.
For this version, select actual costs as the control costs and standard cost estimate as the target costs.
Target cost version 1 ( production variance)
For this version you choose actual costs as the control costs and planned costs as the target costs.
Target cost version 2( planning variance)
With target cost version 2, the costs from the preliminary order cost estimate are interpreted as control costs.
For this version, select planned costs as the control costs and current cost estimate as the target costs. You cannot calculate planning variances for the product cost collector.
Target cost version 3 (production variance of the period)
You compare the planned costs of the period calculated on the basis of an alternative material cost estimate (such as a modified standard cost estimate) with the actual costs of the period on the basis of the yield delivered to stock in the period.
The base quantity for variance calculation is the yield.
For this version, you choose the actual costs as the control costs and the alternative material cost estimate as the target costs. To determine the alternative material cost estimate, enter a costing variant and choose a costing version.
The target cost version specifies which data is to be compared. The target cost version also specifies which variance variant is used and therefore which variance catagories are calculated. You can define a different target cost version for each controlling area

  • How to calculate fixed cost for by-product in costing run?

    Dear,
We want to have some fixed cost calculated for by-product B in costing run.
Our current practise,  we only calculate the delivery cost as variable cost for this by-product B in the costing run for B. The by-product B is a component in the BOM of finish product A.
However, we need some fixed cost to be countered in for by-product B, which can be by controlled by us.
    Any thought?
    Thank you all in advance.
    Christina.

    Dear,
You have to maintain  BOM Usage-Costing-6 i.e., Costing BOM with all your required  Fixed Cost related Material components and assign it  in the by-product Material Master to include the Fixed Cost in by-product Standard Cost Estimate.  Based on this setting, system will calculate Standard Cost Estimate with this Fixed Cost and display in the related reports.

All components of FIM require at least a server license. If you are not
using the portal you do not need CALs but you always need a server license.

  • Costing for Subcontracting

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where the business procure spare parts and then send to a subcontractor for assembling and pays the subcontractor an assembling fee.
I am not so clear how the costing should happen for the finished good we receive from the subcontractor. Highly appreciate if someone can enlighten me in this regard.
    Thanks in advance.
    Em Jay

    Hi Em Jay
If the final finished good is always assembled by the subcontractor, you dont need costing for it
    Option 1
Simply put the Price control as V. The cost of spare parts + Assembling fee will become the Valuation for the FG material
    Option 2
If you wanna have this FG at Price control S, then you need a BOM for the FG Material in which Spare part should be the component
Material master of FG will have Spl Procurement Key as 30 in MRP View
Tick the "With Qty Structure" check box in Costing View
You need to maintain info record for Sub Con Charges for the FG material
Now, when you run CK11N, it will take cost of BOM Components + Sub Con Charges = Std cost of FG
The Sub Con charges must be there in OBYC: FRL and in your Cost Component Stryucture in OKTZ

  • Specific Identification Cost for batch managed items (Follow-Up from P2P)

Specific Identification Cost method is used for serial and batch managed item. Using this method, the outbound cost of such items would be the original cost of specific goods, which can be determined according to the serial or batch number of that item.
Business One allows the user to receive batch managed items with a batch number that already exists in the DB. It’s possible that the received quantity is added to on-hand quantity in the warehouse. In such case, the quantity on-hand of that batch and the received quantity may have different costs.
What should be the system behavior in such case:
    1. Block receipts to the same batch with different costs.
    2. Write the difference to a price difference account, as done in Standard Cost method.
    3. Manage the batch cost with Moving Average method.
This thread is continuation from 'Specific Identification Cost for batch managed Items' <a href="http://p2p.sap.com/businessoneforum?type=join&login=1&uid=41FB661A76CED536C825C4E2B6FF4397&cid=91&go=z37225">discussion</a> in P2P SAP Business One Forum (Product Development Collaboration).
Previous discussion on P2P is summarized in the attached file.

    Hi Peter,
This is a very important functionality that you are describing here. For example, in the Steel industry, it could be extremely useful to cost by batch or serial number.
If you receive a batch that already exists in the system and if the costing method for the product is moving average, then teh cost of the batch should be calculated based on the moving average as well.
If the costing method is standard, then the cost should go in a variance account.
If the costing method is FIFO, then it is a getting trickier...

  • Rule based ATP is not working for Components

    Hi All,
Our requirement is to do availability check through APO for Sales order created in ECC,so we are using gATP.
Requirement: We are creating salesorder for BOM header (Sales BOM) and avaialbility check should happen for components i.e. Product avalaibility & Rule based substitution.
Issue: Product availiabilty is working for components but rules based substituion is working,  mean Rules are not getting determind for components.
    Settings:
    - Header doesnot exist in APO and compnents do exist in APO
    - Availability check is not enabled for header item category and enabled for Item category for components
    - Rules have been created for Components in APO
    - Rule base ATP is activated in Check instructions
We have also tried MATP for this i.e. PPM created in APO but still didn't get the desired result.
If we create salesorder for the component material directly then Rule based ATP is happening, so for components Rule based ATP is not working.
How do we enable enable Rulesbased ATP for components, i mean is there any different way to do the same.
    Thanks for help.
    Regards,
    Jagadeesh

    Hi Jagdeesh,
If you are creating BOM in ECC and CIFing PPM of FG/Header material to APO, I think you need to CIF Header material, too, with material integration model.
Please include header material in you integration models for material, SO and ATP check as well.
For component availability check, you can use MATP; but for MATP, FG should be in APO. You need not to CIF any receipts of FG (stock, planned orders, POs etc), so that MATP will be triggered directly. Then maintaining Rules for RMs will enable to select available RMs according to the rule created.

  • Planned delivery cost for the scheduling agreement

    Hi Experts
    1. I have an requirement to post Invoice ver. for the Planned delivery cost (freight, customs duty,CVD etc) against the Scheduling Agreement just like Import Purchases with checking off the GR Based IV Indicator before doing the GR
I tried it but its giving me that no delivery costs are Planned in the Scheduling agreements it runs fine in case of the PO because PO is a time independent.  Please inform how to post the same for schedule agreement with time dependent indicator on. I tried switching off the time dependent indicator and the system allowed, but my requirement is to Post I.V for the delivery cost with the time dependent indicator on.
Appreciate if you can suggest something in this case Urgently .
    2. Aother issue is we have some uploaded Scheduling agreement from legacy system with Time dependent conditions. For this we need to post planned delivery cost in Miro. Since the system is not allowing to post, how to about for this. Shall we enter the delivery cost in unplanned delivery cost in Miro and post.  Please suggest if any alternate solution is available.
    Regards
    Arvind

    Hi,
As you know if the delivery cost document is not posted during GR the
delivery cost is not proposed during invoice (MIRO). Planned delivery
cost will be proposed in invoice only when there are records in EKBZ
table. The EKBZ table will be updated when delivery cost is posted
    during GR itself.
Please ensure in the PO itself thatr the conditions have been defined
properly with the relevant amounts and values.
During GR when planned delivery cost conditions are present in PO,
system checks for values in amount field. Then only appropriate
calculations will be done for delivery cost and planned delivery cost
document will posted during GR and hence updates EKBZ table.
Solution to this issue is described in below steps,
    1) reverse the invoice document
    2) reverse GR document.
    3) You have to give values in amount field in relevant conditions ZGDS
       in the PO.
If you face any issues changing the values, delete above conditions
and put it again manually and give values in amount field also.
    4) Post GR once again, delivery cost document will also be posted.
You can check it in PO history.
    5) During invoice select Item + planned delivery cost and post the
invoice. If you need planned delivery cost to be posted separately,
then you can post individual invoice for item and delivery cost.
Please note it is not possible to post delivery costs for documents with
    multiple accountassignments.
For your second question, I am afraid I can not answer. Please open a new ntry in the forum, so that someone else can answer it.
    Best Regards,
    Arminda Jack

Since your Mac probably came with 10.4, there is no longer a way to get 10.5 Leopard install media. IF it has the requirements, you may be able to upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard by buying the boxed install media at the Apple Store for $30.

My iPod 5th generation iOS 8 32bytes is not bringing me to my home screen and is unresponsive, and gives me the constant apple logo each time I try to turn it on. My iPod is out of warranty, so I was wondering how much money would it cost for me to return my iPod back to Apple for a new one?

Apple does not have a trade-in program. You can either try and restore your iPod, or you can try and sell it yourself. In some locations, Apple does provide for a recycling program, but the amount provided for devices is quite low.

  • Reducing freight cost for undelivered material

    Hi Experts,
Summary :  The material supplier vendor needs to be paid for full quantity of material. The freight transport is allowed an under tolearance of 0.5% on the material to be supplied. If the delivered material quantity breaches the 0.5% under tolerance then amount at 1.5 times the cost of material for the shortage is to be deducted from the transporter. A dummy GR will have to be prepared for the undelivered quantity for which we do not want the freight cost to be loaded. The details scenario is mentioned below :-
We have to make a Purchase Order with material code say ABC for procured of some material. Suppose we make a Purchase Order for 100 nos. at a Unit Price of Say Rs. 10/- for Material Code ABC on say Vendor M/s XYZ. A freight condition is maintained in the Conditions Tab and suppose the Freight is Rs. 10 per unit of the material.
While preparing the Goods Receipt through MIGO, in the Freight Tab we select say freight vendor say M/s PQR against the freight condition and post the goods receipt.
While doing Invoice Processing in MIRO, when we enter the combination of Purchase Order and Planned Delivery Cost the system will populate the vendor codes of both the supplier of material and the transporter. On selecting the transporter the freight amount will populate against which the invoice of the tranporter can be processed.
In the Vendor Master of M/s XYZ GR-Based Invoice Verification is activated.
The vendor is allowed an under tolerance of 0.5% (i.e. the vendor should deliver at least 99.50 nos. of the Purchase Order). If the vendor delivers 99.50 or more then there will be no deduction in the freight charges.
But suppose the vendor delivers only 99.4 nos. of the quantity. Then we will prepare the GRIR for 99.4 nos.only. But while processing the MIRO we need to deduct 1.5 times the value of the material from the freight amount for the shortshipped quantity, i.e.
0.1     no (99.5 u2013 99.4) X Rs. 10/- * 1.5 = Rs. 1.5 are to be deducted from the final payment from the freight amount of the transporter.
The material supplier will have to be paid in full 100 nos. of quantity and will raise an invoice for 100 nos. A dummy GRIR for the 0.6 nos. of undelivered material will have to be prepared for processing the invoice for the 100 nos. of the material supplier and a dummy issue for 0.6 nos. of undelivered material will be prepared to remove them from the system.
Hence the freight cost for this 0.6 nos. of undelivered material will also go into the cost of the material and increase the MAP by that amount. Also the goods issue Cost will also have the effect of the freight cost.
We do not want to load the freight cost for the undelivered material in the value of the material.
Can any one please suggest a solution for the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    AJ.

  • SAP allows release of Standard Cost for Material with Moving Average Price

    Hi
We set our Raw Material to use Moving Average Price (V) and price determination 2 (single level). And we activated material ledger.
During mass calculation of standard cost (CK40N), If user accidentally forgot to restrict the Raw Material for being included in calculation, the system calculate standard cost anyway, even though I set it as Moving Average Price. And user is able to release it too without any problem.
Why the system does not restrict it? By giving error maybe. Although as for now I can not find the wrong effect from releasing standard cost for MAP material, by your experience, is there any side effect that I should be aware of?
    Thanks

CK40n is mass release of all materials. The release is not dependent on price indicator of the material in the master. It will calculate standard cost of all the materials.
Releasing standard cost estimate of raw materials does not have any side effect as long your calculation is based on moving average price.
