Hello,
I'm trying to activate and smartform but every time I'm getting this dump:
Error Text of the Database: "[ASE Error SQL12205]Could not acquire a lock
within the specified wait period. SERVER level wait period=2400 seconds,
spid=259, lock type=exclusive row, dbid=4, objid=1260735642, pageno=5821264,
rowno=5. Aborting the transaction.#"
I've checked the LWM and HWM, and this paramteres have default value 2147483647.

I don't think the LWM an HWM values will be relevant to this situation. It sounds like some other process is holding an incompatible lock on this row for a long time, and your client is choosing to time out rather than continue to block.
Use a query against master..syslocks (or wade through the output of sp_lock) to look for such a process.

or else if it is dev\Uat environment & you can kill the conenctions - make the changes (use this as last option)
i was just wondering if you are connected to the same DB? If yes change your context to master(means connect to master DB ) and then issue this command.

XML-25004: Could not acquire a database connection named: gksconnection

HI Gentlemen,
I am trying to build up an XSQL page with a query against an XMLTYPE table, to display the contents using a stylesheet. I have set up an IDE connection, the test was successful. Now I would like to start the page just to see if it works altogether. Now without a stylesheet, only that the page executes. And I am constantly running into
XML-25004: Could not acquire a database connection named: gksconnection
I entered the connection in the XSQLConfig file by manual editing--it did not help. Well, there is some stuff in the forum about setting some preferences for OC4J, but in my version of JDeveloper only Weblogic Server is available. So I am prevented from clearing the cause of the problem.
My JDeveloper is a Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0, Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660.
Please help me if you can.

Calling Card Problem: "Disconnected. Could not acquire credentials. The Rescue Gateway..."

Surely I cannot be the only LogMeInRescue customer experiencing the following issue with their Calling Cards failing to allow them to connect to their client computers. Ever since July of 2014, I experience this problem multiple times a week when trying to connect to client's computers who have had my Calling Card pre-installed on their computer. THE ERROR MESSAGEThe Calling Card displays the following message on the client's computer after they click on the Connect button:"Disconnected. Could not acquire credentials. The Rescue Gateway has refused the connection with the following message: Channel does not exist. It may have been recently deleted or modified." The simple task of instructing them to go to logmein123.com and entering a 6 digit pin can LITERALLY take 15-30 minutes of my unbillable time! This can occur several times a day resulting in me me eating 1-2 hours of my time just trying to get connected to a client's computer! WHAT I HAVE DONE-I have called LogMeIn Tech support multiple times but they just seem to blow me off. When I first began calling support back in August 2014, they claimed they had never seen the problem. So I had them remote into computers that showed this calling card error. They gathered information and told me they would look into it. Well, 7 months later I still have this same recurring problem and they've never gotten back to me. So I continue to call them and complain. Recently, they finally admitted that it is a recognized issue but only affects a very small number of their customers and that they don't yet have a solution. So I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem. WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED/OBSERVED-I've been using LogMeIn Rescue since 2006 without any issues until July 2014. I believe the problem began on 7/16/14 when I generated a new calling card msi file (note that I have since generated new calling card msi files but the issue continues). About a month later (Aug 2014), I had experienced enough calling card issues that I began calling Logmein support for help. -This calling card issue occurs randomly and with different clients and with different Windows versions. -Once the problem occurs, the only fix is to completely uninstall my calling card from my client's computer and then re-installing the calling card using the msi file that I generated from my LogMeIn Rescue admin panel. Simply re-installing the calling card doesn't fix the problem...it must first be uninstalled and then re-installed. -The calling card can work fine on a client's computer on one day but then a day later it can fail to connect. -Some client's haven't experienced this problem at all. Some client's have experienced this problem on multiple occassions requiring that I do an uninstall/reinstall. -The issue has NEVER occurred when I first install my calling card. -I have noticed that if the calling card checks for and installs an update, the issue will often times occur. Therefore I believe it has something to do with the update that LogMeIn automatically pushes to the calling card. I instruct my clients to hit cancel if an update is available BUT oftens times they have already installed it. -I have generated new calling card msi files from my admin interface but this hasn't prevented the issue from occurring -

Glad to hear from someone else having this same problem! Supposedly there are a just a handful of us having this problem so I fear that LogMeIn developers aren't putting alot of effort into resolving this issue. I got hit first thing this morning on my first remote of the day with this assinine error message. It has happened several times in the past on this same customer's computer. It will work fine just after re-installing the calling card but then a week or so down the road it will fail again when I try to remote in. So **bleep** aggravating. So tired of eating hours every week walking customers through alternative ways of getting connected. When I say to customer, "ok, go to www.logmein123.com" and they reply "how do I do that" and I tell them to open their internet browser and all I get is dead silence....I know I'm about to eat more unbillable time! Bridge sc6 MAC- ERROR! operation could not be completed-lock up

When I attempt to use Bridge 6 from PS6, I get the ERROR! Operation Could not BE completed, and bridge starts Building Critera and hangs. Can only quit usung a forced quit. I un-installed and re-installed PS, did not help. ANy ideas,

I really appreciate your quick reply. I did the reset from my Bridge Icon in the application folder and checked al the boxes in the window, when I clicked OK, Bridge opened and then I got the ERROR-Operation Could Not Be Completed. Bridge displays "Building Criteria" this does not stop and Bridge becomes totally unresponsive and does not allow me to Quit. The only way I can quit is "forced Apple Quit". I have the latest updates which I double checked this morning after uninstalling and re-installing PS6.
I'm still stumped.

I think is this the CLASSPATH issue. Please take look if there is another XSQLConfig.xml in your classpath.

Are using 9.0.1 version of XSQL?
Oracle XSQL Programmatic Page Processor 9.0.1.0.0 (Production) Actually ... yes and no.
The latest version I could find for AIX was 9.0.1.0.0
Using that version, I had the database connection error
The production version of my program uses version 1.0.4.1 on AIX
That version works
I also downloaded version 9.0.2 for Windows NT from the OTN and copied my program to the PC.
That version works when I run it on my PC
I have a couple ideas to try this morning, with hope ... The latest version for XSQL is 9.2.0.3 on OTN, please use the latest version.

JRockit 'could not create the Java virtual machine'

I installed JRockit (build R28.1.4-7-144370-1.6.0_26-20110617-2130-linux-x86_64) on a server SLES11SP1 (x86_64), but I got the following erros when I tried to run java command:

When you do ./java you usually get some output such as:

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

I am trying to import developed images from LightRoom 5 Photoshop 6 for further editing. I am receiving this message and the images will not open.....'Could not open scratch file because the file is locked, or you do not have necessary access permissions or another program is using the file. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file. How do I fix this? I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond with terms and procedures that a computer ignorant user, such as me, will understand. Thanks.

Could not save because file is locked

I have Photoshop CS6 and I have never had a problem with this before -
All of a sudden I am getting an error message when saving : " Could not save…because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder."
No other program is even open… I have quit every process I could in the Activity Monitor.
I have tried saving as a different file name and format, I have changed permissions for the Staff option on all of file folders.
I have even completely restarted my computer, but literally nothing has worked.
Help!

No anti-virus software (they cause far more problems than they solve, at least on a semi-secure network), I don't leave Bridge running. iTunes is running, so is InerTrak (time tracking software)... so it has to be Spotlight or Time Machine unless Activity Monitor will lock files. Or it could be Quicksilver, which creates indices like Spotlight.
First thing I'm doing is adding all my hard drives to "Prevent Spotlight from searching these locations" and we'll see if this comes up again.
Could it be the Finder? Does the Finder lock the file while reading the thumbnail?
I'm surprised that there's no way to tell what process has locked the file.
OK, last bit: Why doesn't Photoshop lock the file when it's open so that other programs won't open it?

I have the problem where you get the Could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked, where the solution was to fix the properties in the jpg. I did that and tried the Ctrl-Alt-Shft thing too. I pressed them in time and got the message to delete the settings. When I click yes, I still get the "file locked" message. If it is the scratch disk setting problem, I can't get PS open to change it. This problem started when I was opening a locked jpg from a relative. (Now none of my previous pics will open either). Any other ideas other than these that are already listed in the forums? Thanks for any help.
Technical: Windows XP 5.1, HP7680, Photoshop CS2, 2g ram, more than enough work drives. (no Vista)
Sequence of events: 1) recd a jpg from a relative in an email and saved it to hard drive. 2) with Photoshop unopened, I rt clkd on the jpg and chose "open with CS2". 3) PS started loading and then stopped with the "file locked" msg. Clkd on OK and PS closed. 4) tried to open PS from the shortcut (and from explorer) and got same result. 5) researched the problem and then used the Ctrl-Alt-Shft approach, got the window that asks to "delete settings" and chose ok, PS closed again. 6) went to the jpg and displayed properties and saw "This file came from another computer and might be locked....", so I clicked "unblock". 7) retried step 2, then 4 with same results. 7) tried to open an old jpg with step 2 and same result (got file locked msg). 8) no longer can bring up the "delete settings" window with the the Ctrl-Alt-Shft approach as it looks like it deleted the settings the 1st time.

I do not know why a locked JPG would mess up PS. I could see if you always tried to launch PS, by dbl-clicking on the JPG in Windows Explorer, but not from your Desktop shortcut, or from the PS.exe file.
For the locked file, there is a freeware utility, Unlocker. I do not have a URL handy, but Google should find it for you. It has worked on some network assets, that seemed to lock up on me.
Good luck, though this might not address your PS launch issue.

Unable to start Photoshop CS6 - could not open a scratch file because the file is locked (Windows)

When I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c:\ drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C:\ drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
To get around this issue I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C:\ drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users\<your logged in username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.
Photoshop and bridge should now start up with no issues.
I hope that this can help others out there as this caused me a great deal of frustration when upgrading to CS6.

I probably shouldn't say anything since it could complicate this thread, but the rules of thumb can be different under special circumstances when SSD is involved.
IF you have a LOT of empty space on your SSD-based system drive, then Photoshop can actually work great with it's scratch setting pointed at the system drive. This is because a) SSD transfers are much faster than spinning hard drives and b) there's no seek time, so simultaneous transfers to/from scratch and swap files aren't devastating to performance, and you can see a net gain because of the increased I/O throughput over what's possible using a separate spinning drive for scratch.
But if you don't have a huge amount of free space (hundreds of GB) on the system SSD, it's definitely better to use a separate drive, as station_two has said.
Also, up to about a year or so ago, you had to try to severely limit write activity to your SSD drive, since you could actually wear them out by repeated high data write activity. That's pretty much a non-issue now with the advent of things like the SandForce in-drive controller that does wear-leveling inside the drive. Modern drives will last 10 years or more in normal typical use, without special consideration.
As it turns out, making a RAID array of SSDs is a great way to boost performance across the board, have bunches of free space, and ensure even the heaviest usage doesn't shorten the drive life. I have done so, creating a 2 TB system drive C: made from 4 SSDs and Photoshop's swap file (and pretty much everything else) pointed to C:. This system flies, and I can barely tell when Photoshop and/or Windows "goes virtual" and starts using its scratch/swap files heavily. I don't even notice Photoshop auto-saves.

Pretty much everyone who's successfully using a computer - Mac and PC users alike - comes to realize after a while that the task of integrating things on their computers and making everything work falls on THEM, not the developers of applications like Adobe. Some applications pose unique challenges, but to think you can just throw up your hands and try to make it someone else's problem when something goes wrong simply isn't a viable strategy. Maybe that's how things should be, but it's not how it is.
For those of you struggling to get Photoshop to run properly, bear in mind that it's on you to get things working. It works for most folks. It could be a configuration or setup choice you've made that may need revisiting, or some kind of restorative activity that you need to do, or even something very minor like clearing your Photoshop preferences, but it may well take your learning new things and doing things you didn't think you'd have to do to get back to where you can edit photos. It's no one's problem but your own.
So let us here on the forum help you - when we say to do something, try it. We're not here to jerk you around; we're users just like you who have already found the ways to make things work, and we'd like to help you do the same.

I get this error upon launching PS5: "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked or ou do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the 'properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file". The applicaiton will not launch.
Supporting information - I recently changed the scratch disk from C drive to D drive (the back up/restore drive). The application wont launch so I cant change it back to the C drive.
Questions:
- How to I fix this .. from windows explorer how do I find "the file" that the error message refers to?
- Other ways to fix this?
