(CP4) Publishing Problems - zipping a .swf file

Hello... please help!
I have 3 presentations due in my LMS tomorrow. Each one has been imported from powerpoint. Each one includes .swf animations. Each one has a quiz with infinite attempts options and navigations buttons to restart presentation, take quiz again, or quit (for exampls).
Only one of these presentations is publishing properly (and working smoothly in the LMS).
The problem, when I publish a .swf and zip it, the .swf movie size is 0, and the question pool size is Huge. As a test I only have one quesion in my question pool. I've cross referenced the working file against the two that don't work and cannot find what I've done differently between them.
Anyone have any suggestions? The pressure is on and I am out of ideas.......... thank you
Dexy

Hello,
I do not understand why you do not let CP do the zipping while publishing? In the zip-file created by CP all the necessary files will be included. I could upload the zip to our LMS as a package and let it unzip by the LMS and start the HTML-file.
If you want reporting to the LMS (scoring of the quiz) you need a to publish to a SCORM-object, which is also a zipped file with all what is necessary.
So please, tell me why you want to zip yourself?

  • Problem in playing swf files in IE 6.0

I am facing a big problem in playing swf files in IE 6.0 with
    the tags object and embed.
In my current project their is option to upload the swf files
to oracle db and when ever wants to view that swf file, reading
that swf from db and displaying in browser, In win 2000 swf file is
displaying very fine, but not in win 2003 and win xp. and that swf
file, entire application is using asp.net, C#
Can anyone tell the problem behind this situation.
I feel great for any solution.
    Thanks in advance

No.. there is no URL in the two posts above .. if there was I
    would not have
    asked for it again
But now you have, I can have a look (no promises though :))
BTW: These are your posts in their entirety:

    Hi,
I'm brand new to programing, so my knowledge is limited. But
    I'm having a
similar problem where my swf appears but sits on frame 1. I
    have a
    preloader
set up on fr2. But it just gets stuck there (fr1). I know the
    plugin is
installed but not sure why it won't display my movie. I know
    it's
    happeneing
only with IE and XP and XPpro. Any ideas?

Sorry, I since realized that it's not getting stuck on fr1.
    It's just
displaying the bg color in the html page while it's waiting
    for the swf to
load. But the swf never loads. It just sits there. I've tried
    using

  • Problems running local swf files

I recently developed problems running local swf files in
Internet Explorer. This was working previously but recently it
stopped working. Any ideas why the local files no longer work and
    how I can correct it?

Hi Aquasue and welcome to our community
In addition to the usual suspect fellow Adobe Community
Expert Steve pointed out, the Flash player itself may be to blame.
If you recently upgraded to the latest version (8 I believe) it
imposes security particularly when using .SWFs locally.

  • Having problems when exporting .swf file as an animated gif

    Hi:
I was wondering if anyone has ever had any issues exporting a
flash file as an animated gif? When I do so, the image quality is
very compromised and the animation is distorted. I know this is not
very specific question, but I have never encountered this issue
before, and I am trying to help a co-worker. I don't understand why
it looks exactly the way we want it to look as an swf file, but not
as an animated gif? Can anyone point me in the right direction as
to what to look for as the potential source of this problem? I have
the swf file, although this would not be very helpful as I don't
have access to the flash file (but I can send it to you if that
would help). We tried unchecking the feature to optimize the image,
and changed the color pallete to adaptive, but this didn't solve
the problem. I also tried removing any unnecessary layers prior to
the export. Basically, I'm not sure as to how to proceed and what
may be causing the problem. I also want to mention there is a
placed image on the stage. Could the type of image placed be
causing the problem when exporting to a gif file, but not as a
.swf? If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it! Thanks.
    Sara

I also wanted to mention that the swf file uses sound. I am
reading an old book that I have on Flash and it's saying that Flash
and Shockwave Flash enter a special mode when they encounter a
stream sound in which the animation is forced to keep up with the
sound track, if the animation frames can not be drawn quickly
enough, some frames are skipped. I am also reading that the
animated gif format does not support sound. Again, the only
reference I have is for a very old version of flash, and I'm not
sure it applies to CS3. I am now just thinking that the sound may
    be the issue.

  • Adobe Cap 5.5 on Moodle - publish without SCORM, with .swf files

    Hi,
My agency is using Moodle as a training platform and I need to publish my captivate training files to Moodle.    We track training completion through assessment reports.   I upload two different Adobe Captivate 5.5 training files.
    (1)   the training portion with .swf (Raptivity) interactivity
    (2)   the assessment portion - published in SCORM
I am able to successfully publish the assessment portion of the Adobe Captivate 5.5 in SCORM to Moodle.     However I am unable to successfully publish the training file.
I do not need to publish the training portion in SCORM so am open to suggesions of the best method to get the training file with Raptivity .swf files working on Moodle.  When I publish the file it will work perfectly on our local network but does not work in Moodle.  I have tried publishing the training portion (1) with and without SCORM without success.
    Thank you for your help.
Note:   Please see my post 4-12-11.   I was unable to list files in the imsmanifest.xml as suggested in the response - and wonder if someone could provide further detail/ support with this suggestion.   How do I add the other tags?   Would someone be able to provide a screen shot of these steps?     Thank you.
    Sandra

In the dialog inside Captivate where you set up the path to find the video file.  By default, Captivate sets an absolute link, however, this path will be invalid if your video will be moved to another system (e.g. the LMS).  You have to alter the default path to make it a relative path.  The usual method is to copy the video file into the same publish folder as the Captivate SWF.  (By default, Captivate doesn't move your video file for you at publish time.)  If your FLV or F4V file is sitting in the same folder as your SWF, then you can just use the filename of the video file as your relative path when setting up the link in the dialog.
I also recommend you ONLY use lowercase filenames at all times for Captivate projects, including the published file and folders, and that you NEVER have spaces in files or folder names.  These precautions will eliminate many baffling link failures when projects are moved from a Windows development environment to another webserver environment.

  • Problems seeing my swf file after it's loaded on my server

Hello! I loaded a swf file in a dreamweaver cs3 and tested it on a browser and works fine. However, after I uploaded everything on my server.. I don't see the swf anymore.. I loaded the scripts AC_RunActiveContent.js.. Can't find the solution for this! Any help is appreciated it. Thanks in advance.
Here is the link to the page: http://www.salveasi.com.br/index_test2.html

Then there's your problem. IE uses an activeX control and many other non-standard practices to display html content. It looks like you're going to have to change your design to get the look that you want to achieve.

  • Problem with import SWF file

I am trying to import a SWF file that i have exported from indesign CS5, as i want to create a pdf that has interactive page curl and page turn.
But whenever i reimport the file it is really low resolution.

I agree with Steve, you really should think is it absolutely necessery to try to place your SWF into PDF... you probably will face some problems if you do that.
If you really must, you have to understand some basic rules about working with palced SWF (and videos too) in InDesign.
The pixelated image you see above is not actual SWF. It´s an element called poster. When you place a SWF or video to your layout in InDesign, you may choose a poster for it. It´s kind of placeholder for actual SWF or video and will be shown when actual content is not playing. InDesign uses poster also as an appearance for your SWF/video file while you are working with your layout. InDesign can´t show actual SWF/video content in working area.
You have few options how to define your poster. The most popular one is to grab it from SWF or video file. You can choose any frame to be used as a poster. Except that poster is not that frame itself, it´s a "screenshot" of that frame. Which means of course a risk that it may be pixelated at some point. Resolution you will define in Export SWF window´s Advanced tab effects to posters too. So be careful with lower resolutions if you want to avoid pixelation.
Another, and IMO more professional method is to use good quality image as a poster. You can prepare your poster image in any regular image editing software.

  • Issue with publish settings: html and swf files

In Flash CS5.5 when selecting, Publish Settings: html and swf, the html file does not display the swf from the URL after ftp. The swf file, however, does display from the URL without the html file. My work around has been to hand code the html. Is this a known issue or is there something else that might be causing this to occur?

Here are two examples created by two different students in the same lab using the same software configurations:
    http://www.miszxbrii.byethost13.com/howellanimatic.html
The first frame of this one displays only.
    http://vaivadesigns.byethost3.com/YoungMidterm/YoungMidterm.html
Here it is again with a new html page:
    http://vaivadesigns.byethost3.com/YoungMidterm/midterm.html
The swf path was the documents folder and another folder on the HD.

  • Captivate 7 - How to publish into a single swf file?

Our Authoring tool has been designed to cater for Captivat swf files for video uploads. Now that we have upgraded to Captivate 7 the swf - is merely a 'holden cache file' the video content is saved in the .mp4 file. Our programmer tells us that it will take some time to reprogramme this. Is there a way within the Captivate 7 publishing settings to still create a .swf file which will be able to stream the entire video content when uploaded or to generate a single swf file with all content?
Thank you so much! We are trying superfast to adapt to all the different changes and really appreciate you input.

OK, only solution I've found is to use a 3rd party program - try cutePDF.
    Thanks for nothing HP!

  • Problem playing an swf file created in Bridge

    Hello everyone
I have created an web gallery using Bridge and tried playing a swf file containing the slideshow with no luck. When I double-click the file, it open an Adobe Flash Player window but a spiral appears at the centre and just keeps turning. Because my intention is to upload the swf file to a website, I really need to get the file to play the slideshow.
Has anyone succeeded in making a standalone swf file using Bridge or any other Adobe product? If so, please let me know how to.
    Thank you,
    Pom

    Henk,
I'm not on 3.0 so I can't help you out, but I would suggest re-posting on the Enterprise Administration portion, perhaps it'll get more notice there for a resolution.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Problem in loading SWF file

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem in file loading. I have a file
    https://shopping.easycite.com/admin/tree/main.swf and in that file
loading another file named “editNodeFome.swf”. To load
"editNodeFome.swf" i am using related path. But the file is not
    loading.
    mcLoader.loadClip("editNodeFome.swf", _root.tempForm_mc);
Can any one help me to find out the solution?

show your mcl code or use trace(mcLoader) to confirm it
exists along with _root.tempForm_mc. and make sure editNodeFome.swf

  • Windows vista and problem with association .swf files

I have win vista 32bit. Downloaded and install adobe flash player from adobe site. I have some file with .swf extension but can not get to work with adobe flash player 10.1r52. Ii can asociated ths type of file with adobe flash player. Where is the adobe flash player after installation_in which folder? Confused. Help.

Hi, The Flash files are at C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
Also, if you used IE to Install Flash Player, then in Tools, Manage add ons you also need the Shockwave Flash Object,
the ActiveX Control and it must be Enabled. This is Installed when Flash Player is Installed.
If you are using Firefox or another non-IE browser, then in the plugins, there will be a SWF (version number of Flash Player) and it must be Enabled.
    Hope this helps,

  • Problem with zip/unzip of .swf files in XP

For some reason, zipping a .swf file in XP and then unzipping on another XP machine, the file suffix changes from ".swf" to no suffix and properties change from Flash movie to Flash object.  Consequently, linking to the file with a URL in a presentation causes the file not found error. Renaming the unzipped file to filename.swf makes it unreadable.
Any suggestions on how to compact .swf files without them being corrupted when they're unzipped?

Sorry to say, aknle, I use Illustrator files in every After Effects project I do these days. I have never had the issue you are describing. I often receive files form external artists that I need to change to RGB from their CMYK originals. I often need to fix their art because they are print people and think of white as the paper and the absence of ink. But the files open and track and update for me flawlessly. Always have.
    I am on CS5 (not 5.5) using a Macintosh.
