CP6 internal server reporting modifications - Post Results - Continue button

I have searched the forum for similar issues, and have posed one or two questions, but I am struggling to get a clear direction as to how to post quiz results to an internal server automatically (including user variables), without the name/email dialog screen appearing. In addtion, to CLOSE the browser, on the Quiz Results slide,I have tried multiple options with the continue button, including a javascript command of:
top.window.close();
(courtesy of Colday213)
But this did not work for me when I tried to enter the script into the quiz preferences area (can't directly edit the continue button on the quiz results slide).
I have already been posting practice results to my website using the standard INTERNAL SERVER reporting method.
BUT --- here is my wish list --- to modify the process
1. Capture user variables (First name, Last name, student ID and student number) and post them with the quiz results. I have a slide setup to to do this.
2. Post results AUTOMATICALLY to the internal server without showing the Quiz Results slide at all.
3. Have the quiz exit the browser completely once the quiz has been taken.
My quiz results slide has TWO renamed buttons: SEND EXAM (Post results) and EXIT (Continue). My preferences on either pass or fail are "Continue". I have even made the "score" tiny font, and invisible (black text on black background), so the reults page shows (and which I wish did not appear).
Perhaps only a LMS is the method to allow the above, but I may not have an LMS option --- hence, the internal server method..

I will investigate the google spreadsheet option as that may solve the first two issues.
Regarding the last item, EXITING the quiz (closing the browser) --- since the user gets to an ending slide that asks them if they are satisfied with their user variables entered at the start, perhaps I can program the javascript "exit" command on that slide, once the use varifies the data is correct?  Currently, a "continue" button appears after user data is verified, and then the button advances to the RESULTS slide, so that the resuls can be posted, which invokes the standard name/email dialog.
If the widget posts the quz results to the google spreadsheet after the last question has bee answered, then I can either HIDE (skip) the results slide, or choose "don't show" (uncheck) the quiz results box in the preferences, and have the verification slide appear. Then, I just need to make the browser close from there (probably with a button).
I will experiment with this option.
I was also wondering if I can edit the PHP file that collects the quiz results to include the user variables?

  • Internal Server Reporting in Captivate 7

I've just moved from Captivate 5 to Captivate 7. Love it! However, now none of my courses are reporting to our internal server. Clients are taking the quiz and posting their results, but the usual xml file is not being created. What's changed? And how do I fix it?

    Hi there,
Can you please create a sample course in Cp7 and see its working fine with 'Internal server reporting' or not? In case if the issue is specific to  upgraded projects, then is it possible for you to share a sample project(Cp5 .Cptx file) with us so that we can investigate the issue at our end. Please upload the .cptx file to a shared workspace (Acrobat.com) and send me the link at [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Nimmy Sukumaran.

  • Internal server reporting not working in Cap 7.0.1

I am running Captivate 7.0.1 on a Mac and am having problems with the internal server reporting option.
I have a project that is published as both an SWF and HTML5 output file. When I view the published project via SWF, the project reports fine. When I view the exact same project via HTML5, I get an "Unknown Error", and the internal server sees nothing from the project.
Again - this is the exact same published project, and the SWF version works, so it's not an error with any of the information I entered into the Internal Server Reporting dialog.
Is there a troubleshooting guide for this issue? If not, can someone please help me figure out how to fix this problem?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Test.

  • Restful webservice Internal Server Error PUT POST DELETE

    Hi ,
When I make a RESTful webservice on the Oracle Cloud with a PUT,POST or DELETE method, the test results is always the same error: "500 - Internal Server Error".
The GET method causes no problems and gives me the value in JSON format.
Can anyone help me because I can't find an Oracle example with one of these methods?

Java Cloud Service does support RESTful WebServices based on JAX-RS 1.1 specification & Jersey 1.9 implementation.
Please follow the documentation for http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e13734/rest.htm#CHDCGFCH (Section Using the Jersey JAX-RS Reference Implementation)
The required Jersey 1.9 shared library is pre-deployed in all the Java Cloud Service instances , you only need to add the reference of this shared lib in your weblogic.xml.
The following example shows how to update the weblogic.xml file to use the Jersey JAX-RS RI Version 1.9.
    <library-ref>
    <library-name>jax-rs</library-name>
    <specification-version>1.1</specification-version>
    <implementation-version>1.9</implementation-version>
    <exact-match>false</exact-match>
    </library-ref>

  • Users see "Unknown Error" after reporting results to internal server; server gets results

I've finally got my internal server reporting working in my Captivate trail (mostly configuration oversights on my end), but now I see "Unknown Error" every time I try to report the results.
The funny thing is, the server is still getting the results.
Unfortunately, I can't do a whole lot of testing at this point because my trail has expired and we haven't been able to purchase yet (happening soon). Here are a few things I plan to test when I can. Any other ideas/input?
Ensure all buttons are tracked in the quiz (there are no questions in this project).
Move the results slide to the VERY end (currently, there's one slide after it).
Decrease the "Passed" percentage for slide views (currently at 100%).
I've reproduced this in both IE and Chrome. I'm using all Windows machines, and my reporting server is Win2k8, running IIS 7.5. Other than this message, everything else works fine in both browsers.
Thanks in advance for any additional input.

The 500 error I guess is due to a miss correlation, sending wrong data to the server making it crash.
You can record JavaScript files by editing the proxy filter:
View -> OpenScript Preferences -> Record -> HTTP module (or Sieble) -> Change to URL Filters tab; you can add edit remove filters from there.

looks like the connect string is wrong / especially that you use - I think SOA Suite ..
    so the string should be

  • Setting up an Internal Server for Captivate 5 using ASP

We recently purchased Captivate for one of the features of being able to setup an internal server.  I viewed the blog entry about setting up an internal server and it seemed pretty straight forward except that our server is setup for ASP not PHP.  Does anyone have a template for ASP coding and have you set up an Internal Server for collecting Quiz Results in the Quiz Results Analyzer instead of using Acrobat.com.

    Server address = FTP host
Host directory is optional but you need to ensure that Dreamweaver is looking at the root directory of your website in Remote View.
If you see a folder such as public_html or html or httpdocs or similar then you're one level too far up in the folder hierarchy on the server.
Simply put the root directory folder name (public_html or html or httpdocs or whatever it's called on your server) into the Host Directory field in Dreamweaver.

  • How to get the output .pdf file of a quiz to report to the quiz results analyzer on my internal server (mamp)

    I created a quiz.
Created an internal server on my compute rising a MAMP.
When I publish my quiz using the multi-file publishing options...
I am able to use both the "HTML" and the "swf" output files to complete a quiz and reporting the results to the quiz results analyzer.
However, I am unable to get the output .pdf field to reporting to the quiz results analyzer.
Any help? Would this issue have to do with the Acrobat Professional setting? Captivate setting? My internal server setting? or output fuel placement?
I tired to put the .pdf file in the same MAMP root folder location as my "internalserverreporting.php and internalserverread.php files.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hello Varun,
You cqan submit the report as a JOB and export the out put to memory, once the job is complete you can read the list to display the output.
    Cheers,
    Mano
Cut & Paste form SAP help.
    Submit report ....
    EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY
Does not display the output list of the called report, but saves it in ABAP memory and leaves the called report immediately. Since the calling program can read the list from memory and process it further, you need to use the addition ... AND RETURN . Also, since the called report cannot be requested for printing, the addition ... TO SAP-SPOOL is not allowed here. In addition, you must not assign a function code to the ENTER key in the current GUI status. The saved list is read from the SAP memory using the function module 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY' and can then be saved to the database using EXPORT, for example. You can process this list further with the function modules 'WRITE_LIST', 'DISPLAY_LIST' ... of the function group "SLST".

  • Lyncdiscover reports HTTP 500 Internal Server Error for external users

    Hello,
I have a problem providing lyncdiscover information for external Lync users. The same address works internal (prompts for file download) so I believe the problem is UAG/TMG providing the site which is not my cup of tea. I have a working external lyncdiscover
for other domain in the same Lync + UAG/TMG server environment. I have also checked the public DNS records few times and everything should be fine. Firewall also shouldn't be an issue since it reports the internal server error, right? Any suggestions what
    should I check?

more information based on Lync Autodiscover Web Service Remote Connectivity Test.

HTTP 200 status received from server, but no token="User".

The same result goes for the other domain that provides the lyncdiscover information correctly for external users. It doesn't seem to solve the root cause but might help to understand
    the problem.

  • How can I change the login screen to post results to a local server?

I am using Captivate 5 and posting quiz results to a local server.
When students complete modules and then login to post quiz results, they see a login dialog box that instructs them to:
    Enter Your Name:
    Your Email ID:
Unfortunately, these are not the items I want reported to me. I have them enter an alternative ID in each field. Although I warn them to enter what I need rather than what the dialog box requests, inevitably some fail to do so.
Is there a way to alter what is displayed in this dialog box? I'm aware that some rdl files have default messages, but I do not know what file might control these messages.

As I thought, nobody is able to help me ><.
I found some new things like the CPGURU widget which seems to do exactly what I want for 50$ :
    Quiz Data Extension Widget
Michael, the developper, figured out how to send the whole data avoiding the post results popup. I'd like to buy this but my superior doesn't agree.
I also tried to find by myself by decompiling(not sure of the word) the captivate published SWF:
Quiz data is send by a class named InternalServer extending a TrackingAdapter class.
Post results popup seems to be an instance of the "InputDialog" class.
If I can find the place where this AS3 script is generated I think I can modify it to match my needs.
I'll be happy to share the solution for free if I success.
    Any clue ?

  • Internal Server Error when Displaying Total No. of Pages in Oracle Reports

    Hello all,
I've already posted an almost similar message in the Developer Tools forums but would like to post it again here since we think that this is a problem with the report server (Maybe we're missing a patch, a configuration value not set properly or resources are not enough like memory).
We're using Oracle Reports Server ver10.1.2.0.2 and we're encountering an Internal Server Error when a particular report retrieves around 10K records which displays on each page the current page and the total no of pages. When we only display the current page, the report does not encounter any error.
When we enabled the tracing options, it just showed that it encountered a Null pointer exception.
    [2006/7/13 11:1:4:703] Debug 50103 (EngineImpl:EngineImpl) : CInitEngine returns 0
    [2006/7/13 11:1:4:765] Exception 50125 (java.lang.NullPointerException
    at oracle.reports.engine.RWEngine.init(RWEngine.java:343)
    at oracle reports.engine.RWEngine.main(RWEngine.java:60)
    ): Internal error java.lang.NullPointerException
And according to metalink (Doc Id:315228.1), we should just remove the total pages in our report. Problem is that this isn't an option for us. The document also mentioned about something about timeouts. We have already tried setting the request timeout parameter of the HTTP server to larger values but it still doesn't solve the problem.
Is there a workaround for this?
Any help would really be greatly appreciated.

    Hi All,
We really need a workaround for this error. When we enabled the tracing options, it just showed that it encountered a Null pointer exception.

  • Internal Server failure, NSAI Plugin. Cannot Continue

    Friends,
I am posting this message hoping for a solution.
We have web application running on Iplanet 6.1 -> weblogic 9.2. The initial request hits the iplanet webserver and then the request is redirected to weblogic 9.2 server with the wlproxy plugin configured on iplanet webserver.
Our system architecture is simple, we don't have any cluster configurations on it.
User gets following error message sporadically, Interesting fact of this issue is that, part of the webpage gets this message (Message from NSAPI plugin) and while on refresh the browser error message doesnt show up:
    Message from NSAPI plugin:
Internal Server failure, NSAI Plugin. Cannot Continue. Change Number: 755164.
Please help me with solution/debuging strategies if any for the same.
    Thanks in Advance.

looks like, some issue with 3rd party nsapi plugin. u might want to post this question to web logic plugin forum as well as looks like they possibly have some issues with their plugin.
If u r needs are simple, then can u not use the reverse proxy plugin provided by sun and forward the requests to weblogic.

here is the link on how to get this plugin
