CPIC User in Developer Studio

Hi,
I have a question. If I import a model I must use a JCo user. After the import I can look the project-properties -> Web Dynpro References -> JCO References. But there I can only see the Name of the Connection, but I want to see the used User. Do you know where I can check the user?

Hi Stefan
I don't think so, you can see the details for the user which is used for imporing model.
Because it is only used for importing the content by using JCO Destination which is creating by the service user..
Hope it helps
Regards
Arun

  • How to clear user for deployment in NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0

While deploying my application, I entered a wrong user name for the Deployment.
Unfortunately,  NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0 memorized this name and I do not know how to reset that.
In NWDS 7.1 I could just press "clear all stored user names" in the preferences, but this does not exist in NWDS 7.0.
    I tried:
    - Change the SAP J2EE engine and go back
    - restart computer, NWDS, J2EE server, ....
    - delete the things under Local Settings\Temp
    Nothing helps...
    Does anybody know a solution?

    Hi Anu
    Thank you for your answer.
    > Just shut down the nwds itself and try it in a new session.
I run NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0 as a Windows Program, I do not know how to "try it in a new session". But restarting my computer did not help.
    I do not use NWDI.
    > generally in nwds teh system just asks about the SDM password.
But how can I specify the SDM user. The current user which is used by NWDS is wrong.
    Greetings

  • Is SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio  Version: 7.0.12 Compatable with JDK 1.5

    Hi
I want to user Java SDK version 1.5 instead of 1.4.
Is SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Version: 7.0.12 compatible with this or not.
    Please let me know

    Hi
If you are using EP 7.0, then NWDS 7.0.YY version need to be used. //YY depends on your  patch of EP7 .As you have mentioned your are using NWDS 7.0.12, that means your portal SP level is SP12.
In my prject i am using JDK 1.4 for NWDS 7.0.15 and its works fine.I have asked two of my colleagues , they told that in their project they are using JDK 1.5 for EP 7.0 server and application is working fine for them.
    So

  • Deploying with Developer Studio

    Dear forumpeople,
I'm trying to deploy a ear. file with de SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
The connection with the SDM Server works fine, but with the ear. file the following error occurs:
Caught exception during application deployment from SAP J2EE Engine's deploy service:
java.rmi.RemoteException: Only Administrators have the right to perform this operation.
I already read about assigning the Administrators role to the 'admin' user, so I tried the 'User Management' option, found at the J2EE Engine Start page.
Strange enough, the role 'Administrator' is assigned to 'admin'.
Please help me on my way.

  • Creation of custom page without using NetWeaver Developer Studio

    Hi Experts,
In my project, we have not installed NetWeaver Developer Studio. We are using EP 7.0.
We have to create a custom page for the project. In this page, we have to provide seperate iViews links.
The page should look like this:
    iView 1 - Link                iView 2 - Link        iView 1 - Link
Help iView 1-Link        Help iView 1-Link     Help iView1-Link
I tried to do so by creating a page. In the page, I tried to use 'Three Coloumn Page' layout. The iviews are getting displayed in following way:
iView 1 (iView is getting displayed .Link not getting displayed)
Help iView 1 (iView is getting displayed .Link not getting displayed)
iView 2(iView is getting displayed .Link not getting displayed)
I can not display link of all six iViews. Further more iViews are getting displayed in one coloumn and 3 rows. I can see the iViews directly. I am not able to display links for iViews.
I need 3 coloumns and 2 rows layout.
Can you please let me know how to achieve this?
Whether I have to create new layout? For this whether we will need NetWeaver Developer Studio?
Can we do it by creating HTML page. In the HTML page, we will have many links. These links will point to the iViews stored in SAP EP's KM. If so, what be the steps?
I know that it can be done by creating a PAR file and deploying it. But, we don't have Netweaver Developer Studio.
Can we acheive above without using NetWeaver Developer Studio?
    Please help me.
    Regards,
    Brian

    Hi Kedar,
Thanks. My requirement is that six iViews links should be shown in the portal content area.
The iViews links should be like
    iView 1-Link         iView 2-Link           iView 3-Link
Help iView 1-Link Help iView 2-Link    Help iView3-Link
When user will click on any iView link, the relevant iView should be displayed.  The iView can be displayed in seperate new page. So naturally five iView link will not be displayed.
I am planning to create one HTML page and store it in KM. I will call this page in portal content area.
There will be hyperlink on this HTML page. The hyper link will be attached to other iView links in  KM.
Whenever user will click on any Help link or iView link the corresponding iView will be called from  KM.
So in KM we will store 7 objects. 3 HTMLpages for help. 1 HTML page for main page.
    Other 3 will point to iView-Link1, iView-Link2 and iView-Link3.
Can I do so? Will it sort out my problem?
    Thanks

    Hi Jennifer,
This problem is a common one.
1)Make sure that you have Administrator rights in the systems where you are launching NW Studio.
2)Go to your workspace check the log file (basically a text file)
3)Clear your unwanted registry in your registry folder.
If this doesn't work, re-install NW Studio by deleting the older version from Add or Remove Program in control Panel.
Give the Java bin path correctly and devote any folder of your choice to be your workspace.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Guru.
P.S :- There is no link for launching of NW Studio with Internet Explorer as both are different applications.

    Hello,
Can somebody help installing SAP SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio?
    I get the message:

It looks like a Windows XP problem, because manually I can't copy or create a file in de directory:

So the following directory doesn't exits:
    c:\documents and settings\all users\documenten\sap\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.jdt.launching\
It's weird that I don't have access to the "Documenten" directory (this is the dutch Shared-documents-directory) , because I never changed it.
When I right-click the directory "Documenten", and I go to Properties, then I don't see a tab setting access groups.
How can I get access again to the "Documenten"-directory?
    Kind regards,

    Sunil,
There is a NW-DS version on the NW4 test drive DVD given out at TechED which I believe was also posted on the ftp.sap.com before TechEd '04 for CeBit 2004. I personally would like to put my vote out there for getting preview versions to the hands of admins to install and kick the tires before we try to convince management to buyin to purchase a product. Another way SAP reduces TCO?

    Hi,
I got this solution from SAP and it worked.
This is a known problem that appers due to an implementation bug,
while trying to read the proxy information. The studio expects non-
empty value for key com.tssap.config/proxy, located in
    [YourDevStudioInstallationPath]\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.java.ide\pl
ugin_customization.ini file. During the installation no value is
assigned to this key (as you mentioned - no proxy in your case). The
problem will be fixed for SP14, however there is a workaround:
    1. Change the value for key com.tssap.config/proxy in
    plugin_customization.ini to something like this - proxy:80.
    2. After this change the DevStudio should start and you'll be able to
configure your proxy settings from Menu Window->Preferences-
    >Workbench->Proxy Settings. (In your case - disable the proxy
    server)

This seems to be some issue with wrong S/W choice between 32bit and 64 bit version.  Or could be some OS related patch missing.
You seem to have Win 32 bit version and JDK installed is 64bit version.
    Pls confirm.

  • NWDS: NetWeaver Development Studio

    Hi,
I begin to learn to create a Java mapping and I have a question about NWDS.
Our NWDS uses the version 2.1.2 of Eclipse.
    Is it normal?
Is there a mean to use the version 3.0? (more user-friendly)
    Thanks
    Mickael

    Hi Mickael,
Please post this question on the portal and application server forums-you will get a better response:-)...btw, here are some threads which have discussed the same question:-

  • Problem launching Adobe Designer in Netweaver Developer Studio

    Hi All,
I have successfully (I believe) installed all the components required to have Adobe Interactive Forms running on WAS 6.40 (SR1), in accordance with Achim Hauk's blog 'My struggles with the Adobe Document Services in WAS6.40' (thanks Achim!).
When I go to try the Interactive Form tutorial, and I launch the Adobe Designer 6.0 from Netweaver Developer Studio (version 2.0.9) by right-clicking on my InteractiveForms UI element and selecting 'Edit', I get a popup error 'An error occurred decoding Base64 data - encoded data is invalid or corrupted'.  Does anyone know what this means and how to correct it?  When I press the OK button on this popup the Adobe Designer is correctly launched, however any changes I make within the Designer don't seem to be saved.
Any help would be very much appreciated.  Not sure if it makes any difference, but I have Adobe Reader 6.0.2 installed on my client.
    Thanks
    John Moy

    Hi John,
I've installed the SP15 sneak preview last weekend. Based on my experience, if you are not using SSL set up, you only need three steps to set up ADS.
    1. Create user ADSUser and user group ADSGroup
    2. Set up basic authentication
    3. Set up credential file
Now, step 1 and 2 which is in the guide is already done when you finish the installation of sneak preview SP15. All you have to do is to set up credential file.
I was having problem with Read timed out issue, and Markus pointed that web service time out need to be increased in my case. I haven't tested it yet since I am away from my PC, but i'm pretty sure it will fix the time out problem.
Also if you download the credential a while back, that file will expired the end of this month (Feb). Markus has posted a new credential file which will expire in June.
    Regards,
    Iwan

  • How to run workflow from Developer studio ?

    Hi Guys,
I searched for a work item type in the developer studio and it showed the results, but could not find out how to run it from there.. I know we can run it from there.. There is no run button or options available.
Do i need to setup some profile options ?
Any help in this is highly appreciated !!
    Thanks,
    Sathish

    Hi,
Are you logged in as the Workflow Administrator or a user who has been assigned that responsibility?
Have a look on the Administration tab and it will show you who is configured as the admin.

  • Migrate an Adobe form from sfp into developer studio

    Hello,
does anyone know if there is a way to migrate an Adobe print-form out of the SFP-transaction into the Netweaver developer studio? (so that it can be integrated into a web dynpro)
I know it is possible if the forms are designed in the Adobe Designer as a stand-alone application..
And I have also already tried downloading the form as an xml-file from the SFP-transaction and then renaming it .xdp to be able to import it into the designer.
But I noticed in the xml file that the SFP-transaction generates items that makes the template useless for other applications.
    Anne Kathrine

Adobe Reader (which is showing you your PDF even inside SAP) has built in function allowing to scale document to the size of paper in the printer. But this is function of Adobe Reader (not the form itself) and can help only if you are ready for some "help" from the user at the time of printing.
If you want to do it directly (without user intervention), than I'm afraid there are no built-in function for page scaling inside PDF. But you can include two master pages of different sizes in the design of your Adobe form and choose one of them during form generation according to your needs. Please have a look at my old post [here|Is it possible to trigger the pages differently; on how to do it.

  • How to access SAP netweaver development Studio and PDK?

    Hi All,
I have access to EP server on my machine with super admin role .Is there any way I can acess SAP netweaver Developer Studio and PDK through EP server or I have to install in my local machine?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jasmine.

You'd want to install the NWDS application locally no matter what (unless everyone has a thin client/citrix connection via dumb terminal). You can however, opt to install a local instance of EP or use a central instance. Here's how I see the two approaches:
1-install the NWDS on developers' machines and deploy to a development instance of EP
    <b>PROS:</b>
i-developers can develop locally and only connect to the EP server for deploying/testing
ii-share development (although not very efficiently) and test each others' iViews etc.
iii-demo your work online to business users directly
iv-connect to the corporate SAP R/3 and other ERP systems
    <b>CONS:</b>
i-you can only use this while connected to the network
ii-could be slow over a slow/remote network connection
iii-developers may not be able to do everything on the portal server (may not have super admin access)
2-install the NWDS on the developers' PC along with a test EP environment
    <b>PROS:</b>
i-develop and deploy locally, without a network connection, anywhere and anytime, fast and efficient
ii-enjoy full access (super admin) to the Portal - to be able to test pretty much everything
    <b>CONS:</b>
i-may not be able to connect to the company SAP R/3 and other ERP systems, unless you're connected to the network and have configured the connections
ii-not able to get others to test or demo your development without having to port them to a central EP instance
I think a developer needs every resource they can get, therefore I suggest a combination of the above two scenarios, an instance of EP locally and a central instance of EP for the best of both worlds
