Create a an Table of content or an Index page in report in Oracle BI Publisher

I want to create an Index page for my multi page report in Oracle BI Publisher. Any help would be appreciated.
I am using MS word 2010 for creating the template (*.rtf file). Please let me know if any more details are required.
I am creating a rtf template for generating a report in oracle BI Publisher. The report displays the details for all the products used by the customer. Report contains 1 product per page. All the products have same template.
What I want is to create an Index page, which displays the product name and the page number of the report in which it is generated.
For eg. Customer Papa Johns uses 10 products. The report generated will contain below details: 1st Page -> Cover Page containing Basic details of customer.
2nd Page -> Index page containing the product names and the page numbers
3rd page: Product 1 details
4th page: Product 2 Details .
and so on.

Please note that the number of product will be variable(may increase or decrease), hence there may be case when the index page takes more that 1 or 2 pages just to print the product names and their respective page numbers.

Hi Vivek,
To you may create on demand sub report.
In main report only the link will be shown when you click on the link the sub report will be opened in a new tab.
It can be placed in a Group header and to show the data for that particular group only.
Click on the Help menu in the crystal Reports Designer and open the Crystal Reports Help
Go to Index tab and type in subreport
Select Creating On demand you will get lot of information on that.
Please let us know if that is enough to solve your problem

TS1424 I purchased and downloaded a book in iBooks. I read about 16 chapters. The next time I opened the app to read the book, no words loaded on the pages. It would go to the table of contents, but not to pages in chapters. Any ideas?

Try to reset your phone, hold the home/sleep buttons until it reboots and the apple logo appears, don't release the buttons till apple logo appears. If no luck there, Resync the book. Or delete it and redownload it. Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Can I create a custom table of contents and link to other .pdf files based on responses to a form?

Hey Everyone! First post ever, so bear with me:
I'm trying to create a streamlined method to use a form to let myself and others add information and select certain options to put together a custom table of contents. Basically, I would like to have a form with a series of text fill and single/multiple choice options that will automatically populate a table of contents based on the selections and will link to other .pdf files that are associated with the selections. I was hoping this would be possible with a form, but I'm relatively new to the function of the software as a whole and my research came up short. Any suggestions on how to start are more than welcome, and if I wasn't quite clear enough I would be happy to elaborate.

You would need to search for other PDF creation software that can accomplish what you desire.
There are many cheaper PDF creation alternatives other than Adobe's Acrobat Pro software.
Also, try doing a web search under these terms to see if you can find an app/software/solution that may work for you.

"Create Link" in table of contents being overwritten?

Hello community,
I'm using Acrobat X. Just one item in my table of contents is linking incorrectly. I've deleted the link and tried making new ones by:
Using the Link tool under Tools > Content.
Right-clicking the text and selecting "Create Link."
For some reason the link keeps taking me past the heading I want and onto the start of the following page. Text is about 2/3 of the way down on the page. I can link anywhere else in the document just fine -- even higher up on the same page. Just not around this one particular heading.
Any ideas why this is happening? It's driving me mad.

Try using the go to a page view action for the link.

Table of Contents Linking in iOS Pages ?

I'm in the process of creating a Pages file [on my MacPro], consisting of song lyrics, leadsheets, etc.
The file will be used on my iPad2, which will be placed on a music stand for live performance.
I've set up a table of contents [on my MacPro], and each entry links to a specific page [a song] within the document.
I've transferred the file to my iPad2
When I attempt to use the file in iOS Pages, the links are not present.
The document is currently over 100 pages, so scrolling to go to another page is too time consuming and awkward for live oerformance.
Does a linking feature in iOS Pages? Is there a workaround?
If not, this should be implemented. Specifically, it makes sense as an iPad feature.

Hi,
Something else that you can try, although it really depends on your usage of the Pages document, you can export the Pages file as an ePub and import it to your iBook app.
The TOC should be working in the iBook, it gives you a great way to read the information although you can't edit.

Displaying pagenumbers in table of contents in the 2nd page of a smartform.

We have a requirement where we need to display "Table of contents" with headings and corresponding page numbers .The page numbers for the headings need to be picked up at run time.But the "Table of contents" is in the second page whereas the headings appear in the later pages.So it is difficult to display the respective page numbers.Can anybody give me a solution for this.

Perhaps you could try this.
In the main window: When you print out the heading you can get the page number you are currently on. Save that number in a table/structure for each header.
Then on the second page you could have a "Late processing" window and print your headers with the page numbers you have stored in your table/structure.
I think this will work, or at least give you a clue on how to do it.

Making my table of contents link to the page within the ebook

I have a 40+ word document that I converted to pdf format, but lost the document internal links that was set up with the table of contents in Word. Can someone please help me figure out how to make the table of contents have the internal links again? I need this asap!!!!

If you have Acrobat Standard or Professional installed Adobe PDFMaker is available.
Use it to convert the Word file to PDF.
As there are specific "bands of compatibility" vis-a-vis an Office release and an Acrobat release you do want to ensure that the version of Acrobat used is compatible with the version of Office installed.
Properly configured (via the settings under the different tabs in the dialog) , Adobe PDFMaker will convert the Word file to a Tagged output PDF with the active links.
Tagged output PDF is needed for PDF ebooks that are to be used on eReaders as this facility is what supports reflow (needed for the smaller screen size, eh).
Oh yes, smaller, appropriate page size helps too (but I'd guess you've got that already).

Table of contents link on same page

Hello,
I need some advice here. I have seen this done on the web before but not sure if iWeb does it.
What I am looking to do is have a list or table of contents at the top of a webpage. I would like it if somehow a particular topic could be clicked and this would take the visitor somewhere farther down the page to the appropriate content.
In other words....kinda like making a link on the same page.

Hi there. No didn't get it to work. Basically.....I have so much/many iweb aspects I am working on I get a little caught up in different areas. So I just filed the Anchor topic away at present and will get back to it later.

How do I remove the "Show" (Table of Contents) link from my page?

I am using Robohelp 7 and exporting to WebHelp to use on an internet page. When clicking the help icon from my internet page, I am displaying a specific page within my Robohelp content, and not including the Table of Contents. However, at the top of my rendered page, there is a "Show" link automatically being displayed. If you click that link, you then get the full Table of Contents. I do not want that "Show" link to be displayed at all. But I can't figure out where it is coming from.

In your Single Sourc Layout properties there is an option labeled "Show Navigation Link in Topics". You need to clear that option when you generate.

Creating Spaces in Table of Contents

Hi everyone,
I have a nagging problem that I'm sure has a simple solution. Here is a very simple TOC I've set up with ID's automated feature. However, I'm trying to figure out how to add some spacing before and after the underlined style, instead of having it run right up to the section name and page number as you see here...
Here's a shot of my TOC setup. Like I said, very simple at this point...
I've tried many different types of special characters in the "Between Entry and Number:" drop down, with now luck. I realize I can manually type a couple spaces after my headings and before my page numbers, but I'd prefer to do it with the TOC feature.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You can add spaces either side of the tab in the Between Entry and Number field (pick them fom the list when you click the arrow), but you don't want to use a style to add the underline here. Instead, add it as a nested style inthe paragraph style you assign to the listings: None up to 1 Right Indent Tab, the underline style through 1 Right Indent Tab...

Table of contents will not show page numbers

I have a 1000+ page document which has a TOC which is broken upon installing Snow Leopard. There were no issues with it prior SL, anyway. The TOC is built correctly, according to Help and the Manual. What I get is a list of items for the TOC, but no page numbers. The page numbers should be checked to act as links. The odd thing is that when I highlight the TOC the place for the page numbers gets selected. So clearly there is something where the numbers should be, but it is not visible, nor is it clickable. Copying and pasting the TOC to TextEdit also shows the same thing--something's there, just not a page number.

Here, under Snow 10.6.1, the TOC behaves well so you have something wrong on your system.
Check that you have installed the upgrade to Pages 4.0.2
Check that Pages (as well as Numbers and Keynote) are correctly stored in the Applications:iWork '09 folder
Quit/close the application(s)
Run Disk Utilities to repair permissions.
It would be interesting to run Coktail to repair several other system files but Coktail is not free.
Try to run Pages from an other user account. If it behave well from this one, we will know that the odddity is in your user account.
Drag the iWork preferences files on the desktop then restart the application(s)
Restart Pages.
If it behaves well, the problem was a corrupted preferences file.
Some problems where reported with fonts.
So it would be a good idea to disable third party fonts AND Hoefler Text.
But I assume that you don't use this one in your 1000 pages document.
After that, let us know the results.
