Create a Module Object

Hi All,
I have followed the instruction (Ch. 3) in the SMC User Guide to create a node. I then followed the instruction to create a module object, but it failed. When I clicked "Get Module" the program returned an "unable to connect" error message after a minutes later. I noticed that on the node/host that I am trying to connect displayed an error message "error while receiving a pdu from host.51817. The message has a wrong version (2)". I also noticed that the "Load Module" option on the main console is grayed out. Please let me know if I've misconfigured something. Thank you.

Hi Tam,
When I clicked "Get Module" the program returned an
n "unable to connect" error message after a minutes

trying to connect displayed an error message "error

has a wrong version (2)". I also noticed that the
"Load Module" option on the main console is grayed
out. Please let me know if I've misconfigured
something. Thank you. There is a much easier way to make an icon for a module in the main topology. Double-click on the Agent that's running the module to open its host deatils window. In the left pane, right-click on the module you want to make the icon for and choose "Copy". Then click back into your main topology window, right-click on the folder/domain you want the icon in, and choose "Paste Into".
Copy/paste is a quicker and easier way to make module icons than the Edit-->Create Object method.
Oh, and Sun Blade 2500s are supported by SunMC.

    Hi Julian,
I couldn't work out how to do this either, so I did it using the oracle.express.spl.SPLExecutor class and sending Express commands to create a program.
Let me know if you want to see some sample code.

  • Error when creating a ReportDocument object in ver 11.5.3300.0

When I try to create a new ReportDocument from .NET the application exists with no other information. There is an event log entry similar to this one:

I am running 32-bit Vista Ultimate on a dual core Intel Centrino CPU. I have a Crystal Reports Deployment suite installed. The cachemanager.dll is 106,496 bytes and the file version is 11.5.8.998
    Pelase help!

    Hi Ludek,
    Thanks for looking into this.
    > What version of .NET are you using?
I have all version of .NET installed but please note that .NET is not required to reproduce the problem. Please read again my initial post. The error can be reproduced with this single line of VB Script and there is no .NET involved:
    Set o = CreateObject("CrystalClientDoc.ReportClientDocument")
The same can be reproduced by creating a new ReportDocument object from .NET in any type of .NET application.
    > What CR Service Pack are you on?
I haven't installed any additional service packs. Please see the versions of the files I have on my system to figure out the service pack:
    Crystaldecisions.Crystalreports.Engine.dll file version = 11.5.9708.998
    cachemanager.dll file version = 11.5.8.998
    clientdoc.dll file version = 11.5.8.998
The other computers where all works good have the same versions installed.
    > What .NET Service Pack are you on?
All latest service packs and updates from Microsoft are installed
    > What is the version of the CR assembly crystaldecisions.Crystalreports.engine.dll referenced in your application?
The assembly version is 11.5.3700.0, file version: 11.5.9708.998, file size: 393,216 bytes
    > Is this a web or a win app?
The error happens in btoh web and windows forms applications as well as by simply trying to create the Crystal COM object directly from VB Script without involving any .NET. So the same error will occur if CR are used from VB6 for example.
    > What OS are you on?
Again as per my original post I am using a 32-bit Vista Ultimate on a dual core Intel Centrino CPU
    > What happens if you try to run an existing application?
I get a crash in unmanaged code in cachemanager.dll at 0x3f8691b7. All the details are in my original post (scroll up). When this happens in a .NET application, the process is terminated and Vista shows a message that the program has stoped working. There is an error in the event log (see my original post)
    > There are different ways of instantiating a report. The sample app vbnet_win_simplepreview has all of these. Running the app with the different options may give us a clue... Was Crystal Reports installed before .NET or after?
Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 was installed with VS 2008. After that I installed Crystal Reports Server Deployment
    > Have you tried to reinstall Crystal Reports?
Yes I did reinstall both Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 and Crystal Reports Server Deployment in reverse order (i.e. the server deployment first and then the basics)

  • How to create a lock object in se11

    hi all,
Can anyone tell me the step by step procedure to lock as well as unlock a particular object in se11 trns code. with an real time example.
    thanxs in advance
    hari

    Hi,
Lock objects are use in SAP to avoid the inconsistancy at the time of data is being insert/change into database.
SAP Provide three type of Lock objects.
    - Read Lock(Shared Locked)
protects read access to an object. The read lock allows other transactions read access but not write access to
the locked area of the table
    - Write Lock(exclusive lock)
protects write access to an object. The write lock allows other transactions neither read nor write access to
the locked area of the table.
    - Enhanced write lock (exclusive lock without cumulating)
works like a write lock except that the enhanced write lock also protects from further accesses from the
    same transaction.
You can create a lock on a object of SAP thorugh transaction SE11 and enter any meaningful name start with EZ Example EZTEST_LOCK.
Use: you can see in almost all transaction when you are open an object in Change mode SAP could not allow to any other user to open the same object in change mode.
Example: in HR when we are enter a personal number in master data maintainance screen SAP can't allow to any other user to use same personal number for changes.
    Technicaly:
When you create a lock object System automatically creat two function module.
    1. ENQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. to insert the object in a queue.
    2. DEQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. To remove the object is being queued through above FM.
You have to use these function module in your program.
    Creating Lock Objects
    Procedure
1.Select object type Lock object in the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, enter an object name and choose Create. The name of a lock object should begin with an E (Enqueue).
The maintenance screen for lock objects is displayed.
2.Enter an explanatory short text in the field Short text.
You can then use the short text to find the lock object at a later time, for example with the R/3 Repository Information System.
3.Enter the name of the primary table of the lock object.
All other tables in the lock object must be linked with the primary table using foreign keys. There are also some restrictions on the valid foreign key relationships.
4.Select the lock mode of the primary table in the field below it.
The lock mode is used as the default value for the corresponding parameters of the function modules generated from the lock object.
5.Choose Add if you want to lock records in more than one table with the lock object.
A list of all the tables linked with the primary table using valid foreign keys is displayed. Select the appropriate table. The lock mode of the primary table is copied as lock mode. You can change this setting as required, for example you can assign the lock mode separately for each table.
6.Similarly, you can add a table linked with the secondary table just added with foreign keys. To do this, place the cursor on the name of the secondary table and choose Add.
7.If no lock mode is assigned to a table, no lock is set for the entries in this table when the generated function modules are called. You should not assign a lock mode if a secondary table was only used to define a path between the primary table and another secondary table with foreign keys.
    8.Save your entries.
A dialog box appears in which you have to assign the lock object a development class.
9.You can (optionally) exclude lock parameters (see lock objects) from the function module generation on the Lock parameter tab page. This makes sense for example if you always want to lock a parameter generically.
To do this, simply deselect the Weight flag for the parameter. The parameter is not taken into consideration in the generated function modules. This parameter is then always locked generically.
9.The name of a lock parameter is usually the name of the corresponding table field. If two fields with the same name are used as lock parameters in the lock object from different tables, you must choose a new name for one of the fields in field Lock parameter.
10.You can define whether the function modules generated from the lock object should be RFC-enabled on the Attributes tab page.
If you set the Allow RFC flag, the generated function modules can be called from within another system with Remote Function Call.
11.If you permit Remote Function Calls for an existing lock object, you must ensure that the generated function modules are called from within an ABAP program with parameters appropriate for the type. You should therefore check all programs that use the associated function modules before activating the lock object with the new option.
    12 .Choose Activate .
    Result
When you activate the lock object, the two function modules ENQUEUE_<lockobjectname> and DEQUEUE_<lockobjectname> are generated from its definition to set and release locks.
You can find information about the activation flow in the activation log, which you can display with Utilities Activation log. If errors occurred during activation, the activation log is displayed immediately.
    Pls reward points.

  • HR ABAP - Generic method or function to create a PD object & Relat (IT1001)

    Hi,
This question is related to HR Abap .
Do we have a generic class method or function module which can be used to create any PD object(O,S,C,...) and relationships (A008, A003, 007,...)between these objects .(not RH_INSERT_INFTY) . It should also trigger change pointers .
And also do we have a decoupled or generic infotype(1000,1001,1002,....) classes in PD side also similar to PA infotype classes(CL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_0002, CL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_0008,....) . It should also trigger change pointers .
    Thanks in advance

Generic function to create infotypes 1000 and 1001 is RH_INSERT_OBJECTS
    Classes are CL_HRBAS_INFTY_1000, CL_HRBAS_INFTY_1001, etc

  • How to create function module step by step

    hi experts,
    i am new to ABAP.
can anybody tell me the step by step process on how to create a function module for adding two numbers without using editor screen.
    ex: 2+3=5.

    Hi,
You can only create function modules and function groups using the Function Builder in the ABAP Workbench. For further information, refer to Creating New Function Modules. This section uses an example to illustrate how a function module is created from the point of view of ABAP programming.
    Function Groups and Function Modules:
Firstly, we create a new function group DEMO_SPFLI to hold the function module. Then, we can create the new function module.
    Parameter Interface:
You can specify the types of interface parameters in function modules in the
same way as the parameter interfaces of subroutines. Since function
modules can be used anywhere in the system, their interfaces can only contain
references to data types that are declared systemwide. These are the elementary
ABAP data types, the systemwide generic types, such as ANY TABLE, and types
defined in the ABAP Dictionary. You cannot use LIKE to refer to data types
    declared in the main program.
    Exceptions:
Our function module needs an exception that it can trigger if there are no entries
in table SPFLI that meet the selection criterion. The exception NOT_FOUND
    serves this function.
    Source Code:
Having defined the parameter interface and exceptions, we can now write the
source code of our function module. To do this, choose Source code in the
Function Builder. This opens the ABAP Editor for the include program
L<fgrp>U<xx> (see Function Groups). This is the include that will
    hold the program code for the function module;
    Data in Function Modules
You can use the TYPES and DATA statements to create local data types and
objects. The interface parameters also behave like local data objects. In
addition, you can access all of the global data of the main program. This data is
defined in the include program L<fgrp>TOP. To open this include, choose Goto
Global data. The global data behaves like the instance attributes of a class.
The first time you call a function module in a particular function group, the data is
loaded into memory. It can then be accessed and changed by all of the function
modules in the group. The system retains the values until the next time a function
    module is called.
    Calling Subroutines
You use subroutines for local modularization. Function modules can
also use this technique. The function module that they call are defined in the
    corresponding main program.
If you only want to call a subroutine from a single function module, it is best to
define them in the same include program as the function module itself, directly
after the ENDFUNCTION statement. These subroutines can be called from all
function modules in the function group, but for clarity, they should only be called
from the function module that precedes them.
If you want to define a subroutine that will be called from several different function
modules, you can define a special include program for it with the name
    L<fgrp>F<xx>.
    Raising Exceptions
There are two ABAP statements for raising exceptions. They can only be used in
    function modules:
    RAISE <except>.
    and
    MESSAGE..... RAISING <except>.
The effect of these statements depends on whether the calling program handles
the exception or not. If the name <except> of the exception or OTHERS occurs
in the EXCEPTIONS addition of the CALL FUNCTION statement, the exception is
    handled by the calling program.
If the calling program does not handle the exception
The RAISE statement terminates the program and switches to debugging mode.
The MESSAGE ..... RAISING statement display the specified message. How the
processing continues depends on the message type.
If the calling program handles the exception, both statements return control to the
program. No values are transferred. The MESSAGE ..... RAISING statement
does not display a message. Instead, it fills the system fields SY-MSGID, SYMSGTY,
    SY-MSGNO, and SY-MSGV1 to SY-MSGV4.
    Source Code of READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE
The entire source code of READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE looks like this:
    FUNCTION READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE.
    ""Local interface:
    *" IMPORTING
    *" VALUE(ID) LIKE SPFLI-CARRID DEFAULT 'LH '
    *" EXPORTING
    *" VALUE(ITAB) TYPE SPFLI_TAB
    *" EXCEPTIONS
    *" NOT_FOUND
SELECT * FROM SPFLI INTO TABLE ITAB WHERE CARRID = ID.
    IF SY-SUBRC NE 0.
    MESSAGE E007(AT) RAISING NOT_FOUND.
    ENDIF.
    ENDFUNCTION.
The function module reads all of the data from the database table SPFLI where
the key field CARRID is equal to the import parameter ID and places the entries
that it finds into the internal table SPFLI_TAB. If it cannot find any entries, the
exception NOT_FOUND is triggered using MESSAGE...RAISING. Otherwise, the
table is passed to the caller as an exporting parameter.

I also can confirm the same issue as with previous posters, tried all stuff found on the net that seems related to this issue.
Nothing so far as solved it for me, I also had to downgrade to 4.2.18. Not optimal but atleasat i can work until this has been sorted out.

  • How do i query the module object for the interface of the module-specific interface I require

    Hi there.
    Currently using LabVIEW 2012/TestStand 2012.
I am attempting to edit the LabVIEW Text Sequence Translator, and in the CreateStep.vi I am trying to create a step that is of type WIS_Sequence_Call (a custom version of NI_Types.ini-->SequenceCall).
I need to set the file pathname, sequence name and parameter values in the step.  I believe I need to get access to the SequenceCallModule class to do this.
This help file SequenceCallModule states in the description: "To access the properties and methods of a specific module class, query the Module object for the interface of the module-specific interface you want to acquire.".
What exactly is meant by "query" here?  It looks like "Specify" might be what I am after, but I want this done programmatically, ie no dialog boxes.
    See my snippet below.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply Charles.
I have been using the 2012 version of the poster.
I can get access to the Module class from the Step Class as shown in the snippet above, but I can't see how to get to SequenceCallModule? The "To more specific class" VI doesn't seem to work for TS refs. Is there no way to derive the SequenceCallModule from this?
Also I can use the TSAdp.SequenceCallModule reference, but I need to link this to the relevant step that I've just created.  Can NI please provide me with a link to any examples on this?
    Thanks

  • Function module - object - workflow(complicated to explain:))

    Hello,
    I have a problem.
I created in se37 the function ZRR_ACTORS. I have as the import parameter PRNUMBER with type BAPIEBANC-PREQ_NO. As an export parameter i have RECIPIENT with type BAPIEBANC-REASON_BLOCKING( i have not found an appropriate type for the recipient that works in a function module for the object, so i used this..i do not think that is the problem).
    The code is:
    data:begin of gs_eban,
      menge type eban-menge,
      preis type eban-preis,
      end of gs_eban,
      gt_eban like table of gs_eban,
      gv_sum type i,
      gv_aux  type SWD_MRCPNT.
select menge preis from eban into TABLE gt_eban where banfn = prnumber.
    loop at gt_eban into gs_eban.
      gv_sum = gv_sum + gs_eban-menge * gs_eban-preis.
      endloop.
    if gv_sum > 20.
select single recipient from zteam_approvers into gv_aux where zuser = 'xxxx.
        else.
select single recipient from zteam_approvers into gv_aux where zuser = 'yyyy'.
          endif.
    recipient = gv_aux.
As you probably see, i am sending this function the purchase requisition number. In the function I am calculating the value of the purchase requisition. If the value is bigger then 20 i want the recipient to be the email adress of the user xxxx. Else the other email. zteam_approvers is a table with users and their emails.
When i test this function everything is ok.
I created subtype for object BUS2015(purchase requisition), called ZBUS2015. Here i created a method which uses the function ZRR_ACTORS. I released it and after that i selected in swo1 BUS2015 and delegated ZBUS2015. So now when i test object BUS2015, i can use method ZRR_ACTORS which contains the function module ZRR_ACTORS.
If i test this object, the method ZRR_ACTORS works fine. I give the method the number of the purchase requisition and it returns me the user xxxx or yyyy.
Now, i created a workflow. In this workflow i want to send an email to the user xxxx or yyyy. So i have to execute the function ZRR_ACTORS. I create an activity(zrr_activity) in the new workflow. In it, i create a new task(zrr_task) in the activity with object category BUS2105 and method ZRR_ACTORS. I am setting this method as a background method, because after the execution of the function i want to create a Send email step, with the recipient being the one of the emails.
My problem is the binding. In the workflow container i set the PRNUMBER as an import parameter and the Recipient as an export parameter.
In the binding of the step(zrr_activity) i set the following bindings:
    Workflow                           STEP
    &PRNUMBER&  ->  &PRNUMBER&
    &BUS2105&  ->  &_WI_OBJECT_ID&
    &RECIPIENT&  <-  &RECIPIENT
If i click in the activity, in the task i created(zrr_task), in the object method i set the bindings:
    Task                                 Method
    &PRNUMBER&  ->  &PRNUMBER
    &RECIPIENT&  <-  &RECIPIENT&
I run the workflow. Now i enter the PRNUMBER 0010000420, but it remains 10000420 (maybe this i because of the type PREQ_NO.) and execute. The task has the status In Process. I click on Workflow log, then on list with technical details, and then in the container, i see the Recipient is empty.
So, i think the function did not work properly. What do you think?
    Thank you very much,
    Efren

    Hi Efren,
Go to transaction ST22 and check for any dump.
The work item is in process, so there will be a dump in the system.
The Function module parameters could be a problem.
ST22 transaction will give you details about the dump.
    Thanks,
    Viji.

  • OMB plus Creating Locations Modules And Importing the Metadata?

    Hi All,
First of all I would like to thank you all of you in advance for all your time and concern. I have serious of questions and I will ask them in 3 different portions as they are slightly different.
How can I implement the steps below using OMB plus? If you could provided sample script and notation it will be highly appreciated.
-- Creating an Oracle Location for a Schema and Registering it
-- Creating an Module and relating it to the location that was created.
-- Importing the metadata for all the objects in this Schema in to this module.
    For example,
You have a schema called ORACLE_SRC. I need to create the location and module for this schema and tie them each other. Then I need to import all the metadata for all the objects in this ORACLE_SRC schema. During this import all the preserve statements should be unchecked. And I need to accomplish all these using OMB plus and TCL scripting.
-- Creating an Non Oracle (SQL server 2005) Location for a database and Registering it
-- Creating an Module and relating it to the location that was created.
-- Importing the metadata for all the objects in this Schema in to this module.
    For example,
You have a schema called SQLSERVER_SRC. I need to create the location and module for this schema and tie them each other. Then I need to import all the metadata for all the objects in this SQLSERVER_SRC schema. During this import all the preserve statements should be unchecked. And I need to accomplish all these using OMB plus and TCL scripting.
-- Creating an Flat File Location for a folder structure and Registering it
-- Creating an Module and relating it to the location that was created.
    For example,
You have a schema called FLATFILE_SRC. I need to create the location and module for this schema and tie them each other.
Thanks again for all your help and concern!
    Kind Regards,
    Mike

In addition to the performance issue above I have faced an extremely more important problem. When I have used the same logic for importing Materialized views I am getting an error at the last step of the script. It is exactly the same case also for EXTERNAL_TABLE objects. TABLE and VIEW objects are fine. OMBIMPORT command throw the error message below.
PUB04201: Encountered an internal fatal error during processing of oracle module XXX_DMY_DWPROD_TST: unsupported obj type.
I would like to mention that MATERIALIZED_VIEW is the object name I took from OWB scripting Reference guide. I have tried couple other naming conventions too but it didn't work.
Strange thing is If I were to change MATERIALIZED_VIEW to TABLE it works but the materialized view gets imported into 'Tables' folder under the module.
    Please help?
