Create a virtual classroom via Adobe Connect 9 Web Services

Is it possible to create a virtual classroom via Adobe Connect 9 Web Services? I could not find a way in "Using Adobe Connect 9 Web Services" documentation.

The answer of Jorma Jenning is almost correct. I investigated it myself and finally made a working solution.
The trick is that virtual classroom does not have a special type, instead it is a "meeting inside trainings folder with the icon of virtual-classroom". Kinda strange logic and to add another level of hell the "trainings folder" is the one with the type "my-courses", so, finally, we get the the following workflow:
1. Call h-ttps://example.com/api/xml?action=sco-shortcuts and filter sco-s until you find one with the type="my-courses" and remember its sco-id — this will be your folder-id.
2. call  h-ttps://example.com/api/xml?action=sco-update&type=meeting&icon=virtual-classroom&name=October All Hands Meeting
          &folder-id=2006258750&date-begin=2006-10-01T09:00
          &date-end=2006-10-01T17:00&url-path=october
The thing with icon is important.
Note that if you call report-my-training service immediately after sco-update you won't see this virtual-classroom. This is because the default permissions do not allow that. Add yourself to the user list via permissions-update and it will appear in your training list. This is different from creating virtual classroom from web interface as there you are added as a host by default.

    Hello all, I am trying to create a virtual classroom via Adobe Connect 9 Web Services with the code below.
    https://XXXXXXXX.adobeconnect.com/api/xml?action=sco-update&type=virtual-classroom&name=My Virtual Classroom&folder-id=1358451232&date-begin=2014-01-02T10:00&date-end=2014-01-02T11:00
    And the result below:
    <results>
    <status code="internal-error">
    <exception>java.lang.NullPointerException</exception>
    </status>
    </results>
    What could be the reason of this problem? I need your help.

    Hi Teomanx
    To create a virtual classroom, you have to give type=meeting & icon = virtual-classroom. So the correct syntax is :
    https://XXXXXXXX.adobeconnect.com/api/xml?action=sco-update&type=meeting&icon=virtual-clas sroom&name=My Virtual Classroom&folder-id=1358451232&date-begin=2014-01-02T10:00&date-end=2 014-01-02T11:00.
    Hope that helps.
    Thank you

  • ADOBE Connect Web Service Transaction ID

    Hi All,
    Hope I can make my question clear, but here goes.
    We are integrating an LMS into ADOBE Connect , so far so good. Managed to write all our intergration classes and all is working great. My question is as follows, If we launch a URL (SCO Content) the content launches and we can see the "attempt" via the report-user-training-transcripts webservice. This works well if we assume that all attempts are going to be logged and the users internet is working correctly etc.
    Is there a way when we launch to uniquely identify what the "transaction-id" will be. This means on our LMS side we know we launched with this transaction-id and when we read the transcript we can just filter for that specifictransaction-id. If there is no transaction-id this could be that the user closed before the content launched or there was a network issue.
    In short I want to know what SCO I am launching from the LMS to match the attempt with the transaction-id. I have tried to send through a custom field, but it does not pull through on the report..
    Any suggestions would help?

  • Adobe Connect Web Sevices - CMS Integration

    Hello,
    our company would like to intrgrate Adobe Connect Pro with e-learning solution using Adobe Connect Web Services API.
    It seems possible http://www.adobe.com/devnet-archive/acrobatconnect/articles/firstapp.html
    Here are our questions:
    Q1: If we buy license for Adobe Connect Pro eg: 5 hosts 100 users, can we already use Adobe Connect Web Services API? Or do we need to host Adobe Connect Server ourselves to use it? It seems logical, that its possible in both cases hosted and SAS (software as service from adobe). But we need to be sure.
    Q2: 1 host is 1 person than can manage 1 conference at a time. Is this 1 host bound to 1 adobe id account?
    Q3: we want to be able to have up to 20 simultaneous conferences in each 20 participants. Analog to 20 classrooms 20 students each. What kind of license must we buy?
    I called adobe support, no clear answer, called resellers, the same, Hope hiere someone will know.
    thanks,
    Sylwester

    Muse itself publishes all the html pages to the same folder and hence assumes that there is no multi-level folder structure for html pages. Please note that Muse uses document-relative referencing in menus i.e. href="index.html" and not root-relative referncing i.e. href="/index.html". Now if you add some third party content/link that leads to a page/content inside a directory or URL referring to a subdirectory, then a menu link referring to "index.html" would actually be referring to an index.html page in the current subdirectory and hence breaking the original intended reference.
    To get around this, a simple workaround is to use the Manual mode of menu creation and explicitly specify /index.html or /about.html, etc for the menu item hyperlinks. This would help you create a menu with links using root-relative referencing that will not break even when you go deeper into subdirectories.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem to integrate Adobe LiveCycle Web Service to BizFlow

      I have problem in integrating BizFlow with Adobe LiveCycle Web Service. We use LiveCycle Output Service module, it has Web Service, EJB, Remoting and REST for external application to call. Then I try to create a Web Service Application in BizFlow to call that LiveCycle Web Service.
       The LiveCycle project is input an XML parameter from Web Service then fill in the LiveCycle form to generate PDF then send it to an email address.
       The problem is BizFlow can only accommodate with RPC Web Service and does not work with other web service, and in default LiveCycle only present Document style Web service to external. We have problem in integration.
      Anyone could give some information on how to integrate BizFlow and LiveCycle service? Like can LiveCycle present RPC protocol Web Service?
    The help is highly appreciated

    I did fine a solution to this, which was to use the distiller Web service for PostScript files.

  • Leading zeros from Adobe form web service data connection

    I created a web service for BAPI_PRODORD_GET_DETAIL and used it as a data connection in an Adobe form. When executing the connection using request parameters of:
    Number = [Production Order #]
    OrderObjects.Operations = 'X'
    no production orders are found.
    I debugged and discovered the BAPI only found production orders when the Number importing parameter contained padded leading zeros. After searching the forums, I suspect (1) I have the wrong field type and / or pattern for the production order number input field or (2) SAP Note 1050826 may apply.
    Does anyone have suggestions on which field types and patterns to use? I have tried each of Text, Numeric, and Decimal. When using Numeric, I set the data format to Float instead of Integer. I tried data patterns such as: num , the data displays with leading zeros but does not pass to the BAPI with them.
    I was also thinking a Formcalc or Javascript may be the solution.

    Hello,
    maybe it would be the fastest approach here to work with the value as a string and check the length of the "string" and if needed add some leading zeros. You may try some validations, so the value entered by the user is denied if not in the respective format.

  • Accessing BPEL processes via a proxy web service performance issues

    Hello,
    I have more BPEL processes implemented, each such a process implementing business functionality in a certain domain (generally, a domain has more business processes).
    The request was to provide a single web service for each domain. It means that all the business methods (processes) in the same domain should be accessed through the same web service. This request doesn't make possible to expose the BPEL processes themselves as web services that could be directly consumed by different clients of the application.
    The alternative will be to implement the "domain" web services through a Java class, for instance. With this approach, the Java based domain web services will expose the needed business methods to the clients. And the Java class will get the request input parameters and will call the corresponding BPEL process via SOAP. This scenario would be fine, but... this approach would imply a supplementary marshalling/unmarshalling process at the domain web service level. The data returned by the BPEL processes could be very large and in such a situation the Java based domain web service will introduce an important performance drawback.
    Is there any other solution to this case that will allow the using of a "proxy" domain web services that will not introduce any important drawback via marshalling/unmarshalling?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Marinel

    Hello,
    First, thank you Sandor for your answer.
    I understand that it is possible to create a BPEL process that exposes multiple operations/messages. This would be exactly what I need: a single process (web service) that will expose many operations. Could anyone, please, point me to such an example?
    So far I thought that there is possible to have only one operation exposed with a BPEL process, what is delimited between the receive/reply blocks (in the synchronous case).

    Marinel

  • HOW TO: Connect web service (remote application module) to existing model

    Hello.
    I have J2EE application which displays some data in an applet, which reads them by a web service. I'd like to use persistence and connect with a web service called by applet to my current model set within a session. I tried to pass a session id to web service (to a function of an application module implementation). I wanted to create a new SessionCookie instance with such a session id and application id which are used for web application session (by ApplicationPoolImpl.createSessionCookie() or with custom session cookie factory). But I don't know how to pass a session and application ids to a sessioncookie creation process (ApplicationPool environment). I tried to use custom EnvInfoProvider, which set my properties, but it passes the params after a SessionCookie instance is created.
    Samples ... AppModuleServer - file generated to provide ws functionality. I changed code to use EnvInfoProvider:
    public class AppModuleServer extends Object{
      public AppModuleServer(){}
      public SomeObject[] myCustomFunction(String sessionId){
        AppModuleImpl _am = null;
        String appId="someValue";
        CustomEnvInfoProvider envProvider=new CustomEnvInfoProvider(appId, sessionId);
        try{
          _am=(AppModuleImpl)Configuration.createRootApplicationModule("data.AppModule", "AppModuleLocal", envProvider);
          return _am.myCustomFunction(sSessionId);
        finally{
          if (_am != null)Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(_am, false);
    }CustomEnvInfoProvider:
    public class CustomEnvInfoProvider implements EnvInfoProvider{
      private String applicationId;
      private String sessionId;
      public CustomEnvInfoProvider(String applicationId, String sessionId){
        this.applicationId=applicationId;
        this.sessionId=aessionId;
      public Object getInfo(String info, Object environment){
        if(info==null)return null;
        return ((Hashtable)environment).get(info);
      public void modifyInitialContext(Object environment){
        if(applicationId!=null)((Hashtable)environment).put("CookieApplicationId", applicationId);
        if(sessionId!=null)((Hashtable)environment).put("SessionId", sessionId);
      public int getNumOfRetries(){
        return 2;
    }Does anybody knows how to pass information from custom EnvInfoProvider just before a SessionCookie is created (e.g. how to run modifyInitialContext() function). Or another way how to pass these information from a web service base function into ApplicationPoolImpl instance. E.g., there is parameter "properties" whithin a createSessionCookie method of ApplicationPoolImpl, which is null during calling. Is it possible to pass there some additional information?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Use the Web Service Proxy wizard in JDeveloper to create a class that calls your Web service, and then call this class from code in your AM.

  • Create an Alias in SICF for SOA Web Services

    We have various Enterprise Web Services (SOAP) which are available via URLs which look like this:
    https://oursapserver.ourdomain.com/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/zServiceX/100/ConfigY/bindingZ
    Whenever we change the interface (changing the Function Modules) we have to create a new Enterprise Web Service (and config and binding...) in SOAMANAGER and this is not only tedious but it means a new URL.
    We would like to have a fixed URL pointing to the latest version of the service. Something like:
    https://oursapserver.ourdomain.com/zws/serviceX
    When we create such an alias in SICF and point it to the above path and binding it does not work. We get a 500 error with the following response:
    HTTP/1.1 500 SRT: Unexpected failure in SOAP processing occurred: ("No Web service configuration for this access path: "/zws/serviceX"")
    content-type: text/html
    content-length: 0
    server: SAP NetWeaver Application Server / ABAP 731
    Can anyone explain this message, or suggest a solution?

    You'd get a different message if the address was already taken. The error you are experiencing has been reported numerous times, but I would assume that it was intermittent or we'd be hearing a lot more about it than we do. I'm afraid your only options are to try from time to time, or to attempt to navigate the shoals of the iCloud support system and ask them whether they can fix it.
    To contact  Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
    You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
    If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee - if so you should point out that this problem is their fault and you shouldn't be charged.

  • Database connection Web Service state

    If a Web Service conntects to a database, when should I connect and when should I disconnect? I want to hold the same connection during multiple Web service calls. I use JWSDP 1.0.

    Have your service implementation class implement javax.xml.rpc.server.ServiceLifecycle. Create the connection in the init() method and close it in the destroy() method.
