Create all jobs in own partition or global

Dear Friends,
I have created own partition in production to schedule all jobs and using GLOBAL partition in QA system.
I can not do Import in own partition from GLOBAL(QA system) partition.
My concern is whether we can perform all activities in own partition same as GLOBAL partition.
OR we need to use GLOBAL partition in production instead of own partition.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Jiggi

Dear Blom,
Thanks a lot for your helpful answer.
In that case, will change QA partition from Global to Own same as Production.

Jiggi

  • Install Windows XP in its own partition?

    Hello, all! I have questions on partitioning for Windows XP Home.
    I just recently purchased an Athlon 64 & MSI Neo motherboard, and I'll be getting a Maxtor 60GB Serial ATA hard drive soon. I'm looking for more speed in XP, so a coworker suggested I put Windows XP on its own partition, and data on the other.
    My questions are:
    1) How much space should I allow for XP's partition? After installation, will that many files be added to the partition over time?
    2) What are the advantages/disadvantages of giving XP its own partition?
    3) When installing data to the second partition, should I allow a Program Files folder to be created, or just install the applications' folders straight to the root of the partition?
    Is installing Windows XP in its own partition the "thing to do"? Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

    im not convinsed it makes any difference really
    this time i never bothered my array is my c drive all 149gb of it
    and i see no difference
    if you dont have another drive to back stuff up on then do it for sure
    then you can format c but not loose the mp3 collection
    but most cases a game loaded in another partition does not work right any way after c is reloaded and needs installing again any way

    /the system executes all process at the same time instead of one to one,
    Is necessary the system executes one to one becouse is a Hierarchy of process with
    corresponding dependencies.
    what could I do to resolve the issue??
    any ideas??

  • Creating a job and scheduling a job error in OEM

    Hi, Everyone,
    I am trying to create and schedule a job thru OEM. In the the pl/sql block provide i have given my code like this
    begin
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON;
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND;
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL;
    EXEC PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL;
    SPOOL OFF;
    end;
    i have created the job and scheduled it but i am getting this error:
    Error # 6550
    Details ORA-06550: line 2, column 5: PL/SQL: ORA-00922: missing or invalid option ORA-06550: line 2, column 1: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored ORA-06550: line 3, column 7: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "C" when expecting one of the following: := . ( @ % ;
    could anyone pls help as this is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance

    Ah, the problem is you are confusing SQLPlus commands with PL/SQL.
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND; -- This is a SQLPlus command, in PL/SQL to write out to a file you will need to call the UTL_FILE package to open a file for writing to. Except that the file you write to will appear on the database server, not your workstation, when the scheduled job runs.
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL; -- In PL/SQL you need to SELECT columns INTO variables FROM tables. But in fact I guess you want to write the time to file using UTL_FILE again. However, you don't really need to do this, since scheduler will log the start time and run duration itself.
    EXEC PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910); -- This is the SQLPlus equivalent of the PL/SQL command:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    SPOOL OFF; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    So to summarise, all you really need is:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    And the scheduled job will log the start time and duration in the database, which you can find here:
    SELECT * FROM USER_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS

  • Is there any way to create a job in LMS4.2 to configure only switchports matching a specific description

    Hello Network Management gurus.
    I'm baffled by a lot of new features of LMS4.2 and seem lost where to start looking.
    Our client needs to periodically make changes to switches to change their port settings.
    They have specific descriptions with a certain string. Let's say the description say "Cisco phone".
    The task is to create either template or ad-hoc Netconfig job that will send changes only to those switchports.
    How can it be done?
    Thanks for your help in advance
    Eugene

    Thanks, Michel.
    I'm almost done except for the task/commands definitions.
    This is what I'm doing.
    1)  Admin -> System -> Group Management -> Port and Module (once I clicked "Port and Module" I'm redirected to Inventory -> Group Management -> Port and Module)
    2) I create a group named "VoIP switchport"
    3) Then I select the device that I need to configure. It is my switch SW2
    4) Then goes Rule Expression:
    Port.PortDescription equals "VoIP_Port"INCLUDELIST {:RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380997>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380996>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380995>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380994>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380993>}
    In human language it say that that the switchport description should be matching the string "VoIP_Port" and it is applicable to 5 ports, they are Fa0/1 through Fa0/5 interfaces of the switch
    The fun starts when I try to create a job to push some VoIP parameters to the switchports in question.
    I create a new NetConfig job, select "Port based" type job, then I select the device which is a redundant step for me. I expect the job selector is smart enough to select the device based on my "Port and Module" group created previously.
    Anyways, when I click "Next" I select my Port group which is "VoIP switchport" and then the next screen suggests to select the task. I assume I should select "Adhoc task". When I add an instance of this task I'm presented with a screen prompting to configure CLI commands. This is where I stopped.
    What am I starting with? Should I go to the global config mode first ? If I want to send the command "switchport voice vlan 15" should I just add it in the CLI field? How am I applying it only to the required 5 ports?
    If I start the job anyway it fails and the error message is no applicable devices.

  • How to create a job in sm36

    How to create a new job in sm36 and how do we know the job has been created. where to look for that job name.
    please explain.
    thanks,
    phyrose

    Hi,
    Save the variant of report.
    Go to sm36. create a new job.
    In start condition, specify all the day and time.
    and in Step specify the report name and variant.
    and then go to sm37 and run that report..........
    In sm37, got to that job, select that job and click on display spool list to see the output of that job.
    See the status of the JOB whether it is finised or executed with errors etc
    If it is executed and the status shows FINISHED then go to the related transaction and see the output of that Report.
    see the details for JOb secheduling
    Scheduling JOB in background:
    Go to SM36 create a Job
    click on Start Condition
    Click on DATE and TIME enter date scheduled Start and END times
    click on Period Values
    Click on HOURLY/WEEKLY etc
    CLick on RESTRICTIONS also to use further criteria.
    so your job will be scheduled and run as per your requirement.
    and in SM37 Transaction check the status of that JOB

  • Yosemite damages its own partition on shutdown

    Hi I'm having this issue since I upgraded to Yosemite where almost every time I shutdown my laptop (90% of times) I get the OS partition screwed, so in the next boot the Yosemite partition doesn´t show and the Recovery will launch. Disk Utility successfully recovers the partition (volume header need repair) and the system will load Yosemite OK
    The setup is the following:
    MacBook Pro 7,1 with 8GBs RAM and Samsung EVO 840 250GB installed in original bay
    So far I tried: reinstalling Yosemite from Internet recovery (3 times), enabling Trim and disabling kext signing policy, not enabling Trim, resetting PRAM and SMC lots of times, installing Windows 7 (bootcamp)
    I'm sure this is Yosemite related because:
    I can work with Yosemite for hours, even days with no partition issues at all (except for the killer-shutdown)
    I can use Windows 7 (restarts, shutdowns) with no partition issues at all
    I was using Mavericks with no issues at all

    As Malcolm says, don't partition. You have a relatively small drive and partitioning will cramp OSX which needs a lot of free disk space to run optimally. The only reason I can see to put OSX on its own partition is if you want to have multiple copies on a computer. The other reason to partition is for convenience in making backups but that's going beyond your immediate question.

    Hi Felipe
    Here's Help from the user type field in SU01 for B it says,
    System 'B'
    Use the system user type for internal system processes (-> background processing) or system-related processes (-> ALE, workflow, TMS, CUA).
    Dialog logon (using SAP GUI) is not possible.
    A user of this type is excluded from the general settings for password validity. Only user administrators can change the password using transaction SU01 (Goto -> Change Password).
    Multiple logons are permissible.
    I have checked one of our productive systems and it is set to B for WF-BATCH. The error message you get is because your WF-BATCH is a C type.
    Hope this helps.
    Good Luck

    just finished to import my files from a powermac G5 (10.5.11) to my new macbookpro i5 2,3 GHz 4 MB RAM via migration assistant. on my G5 i had only one main partition where i had my osx, my pictures, mp3 and so on.  total amount about 230 GB. everything looks pretty fine on my mbp.
    now. i have one big 230 GB partiton on my mbp.
    will it make any difference performance wise if giving my osx (and the main used programms?!?!!)  10.6.7 on my mbp i5   it´s own partition and create a second partition for pictures, music files and so on...?
    a bit off topic, but
    is it actually a good choice to import from a  G5 10.5.11 ppc system to a mbp i5 10.6.7 intel system via migration assistant or would it preferable to do everything handish and start from the scratch??
    thanks for your help in advance...

    Hi again:
    after that migration assistant procedure the account/user name of my old powermac G5 appears in my new mbp. so my new mbp is now called powermac G5. am i able to change this? the only way i see to do, is to create a new account and delete the "powermac G5" account...
    This is the way to change the "short name" :
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8756.html
    I cannot remember if I have done it, but I believe you can change the "long name" by going to system preferences>accounts and typing the new long name in the box.

  • Change all the SoftWare RAID partitions to the VLM (physical volume)

    My PC has a RHEL5.0 system and other 4 partitions(Software RAID type). Now I want to change all the SoftWare RAID partitions to the VLM (physical volume) partition and I do not want to reinstall the RHEL5.0 system.
    How to do it?
    Can fdisk tool work? Which tool is easy?

    Hans,
    I am using ASMLib and no raw partitions. All the
    partions must be separated partitions without being
    mounted by any system.For the partitions to be used by ASMLib the partition must still be known to the machine.
    From the ASMLib pages:
    "Every disk that ASMLib is going to be accessing needs to be made available. This is accomplished by creating an ASM disk. The /etc/init.d/oracleasm script is again used for this task: "

  • Effect of creating new Jobs & grades in Existing HRMS system

    Dear Experts...
    We are already live with more than 3000 empoyees with modules like payroll, OLM and PMS.
    Now all of sudden our users want to create new job for interns and create new grades for them.
    All these will be added to the existing jobs and grades...
    Will this have effect? what is impact on Payroll.. ??
    I can simply create them using Job KFF ... but something fails.. Oracle will say .. you did not follow standards....
    Any help pls ??

    Hi Rahul,
    This is a perfectly normal request from any HR user and common requirement in any HRMS system.
    You can add as many grades and jobs to your Oracle HRMS/HCM system anytime without jeopardizing your existing data as long as you're entering them from the standard screens or loading through public APIs.
    I'm not from "Oracle" but I can say that in doing so you'll be following "the standards" and Oracle will provide support in case of issues.
    As for impact on Payroll, once you've associated these new grades and jobs to your employees and if there are benefits/deductions linked to them, then yes, your payroll would be impacted. Whether it will correctly reflect on your Payroll depends on your configuration (elements, links, fast-formula, etc...).
    Anyway, you'll have to carefully do dummy runs and check the cases on a 'Test' instance before deploying onto Production Environment.
    HTH.

    Rajen

    Previously, I had unregistered the target schema from "OWB Runtime Audit Browser" logging as a QA user and registered to a new schema from OWB DEPLOYMENT MANAGER.
    I am able to deploy the mapping from Owb Deployment Manager and the deployment goes OK.
    I have also gone through the links:
    OWB execution error : ORA-20213: Unable to create standalone job record
    Re: ORA-20213 during execution
    But, did not find the solution.
    When I execute the mapping from Owb Deployment Manager after right clicking on it, it is working fine. But, above execution method is not working.
    We want to run the mappings in the above way, because all our mappings in our other projects are running fine in the above sql run procedure.
    Can you please help me out, how to fix the above errors?
    Thanks & Regards,
    lenin

    Good morning Lenin,
    Since the other threads do not apply, you've gotten yourself into a strange situation.
    I'm not familiar with the method you use to run the mapping, have you tried running the mapping using the SQL-template that OWB provides or - like I do - the run_my_owb_stuff script provided by the OWB time? If not, could you try that please?
    Apart from that, I don't have any experience with your exact error message so it's hard to share anything concrete, I can only suggest things. Maybe there are other users on this forum that do, who knows...
    If you want concrete support, log a TAR with Metalink, they are obligated to help you if you have a CSI :-)
    Good luck, Patrick
