how can i create checkboxes in my view dynamically?

You would basically need to perform the following steps:
1) First get the reference of the ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER using get_root_element.
2) Set the desired layout to the container using the obtained reference.
3) Create an instance of the checkbox using the new_checkbox method of class cl_wd_checkbox.
4) Specify the correct layout information to this newly created checkbox.
5) Add the checkbox to the container ui element.
You would have to mandatorily bind 2 properties of the created checkbox:
bind_checked & bind_text.
The state of the checkbox would get saved into the attribute specified by bind_checked
The text to be displayed beside the checkbox would come from the attribute specified by bind_text
Try insert the following coding into your WDDOMODIFYVIEW:
METHOD wddomodifyview.
DATA: lr_container TYPE REF TO cl_wd_uielement_container,
        lr_checkbox TYPE REF TO cl_wd_checkbox,
        lr_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.

How to handle dynamically created checkboxes in JSP???

Hello everybody,
In a JSP page I would like to create checkbox dynamically on every
result line (detail line), then check in some of them and finally pass the checked lines to a JSP bean which will handle them on a submit button press.
The problem are:
- how to index every checkbox in jsp result line in jsp page in order to avoid solutions like this:
<input type=checkbox" name="value1">
<input type=checkbox" name="value2">
etc
- how to read every checkbox to find the checked ones
Is there anobody who has any experience from case like this?

Hi, first off, no need to determine what has been checked or not. If the checkbox is checked, on the post, the value will be submitted as part of the request. If the checkbox is not checked, it will not be submitted (it's value will be null). Depending on what you need, I have approached this a number of different ways. One way is to name all checkboxes the same name. If you need to distinguish between two rows in the form, then in the value field for the checkbox, use some type of distinguishing factor, for example,
<input type=checkbox name=chkName value="1:abc">
<input type=checkbox name=chkName value="1:def">
Now, you only have to make one call on the Servlet/JSP receiving the form post, request.getParameterValues("chkName") which will return an array of the non-null Strings that were checked.

Operations on dynamically created checkboxes

Hi Experts,
                      In my application I have created 10 check boxes dynamically. All check boxes are for selecting different request types which the user can select. Out of these 10 one check box is for "ALL requests". Now I want that if All Check box is clicked all other checkboxes must be checked. I want to use on toggle action of checkboxes on dynamicaaly created checkboxes Is it possible? Or I have to create checkboxes statically and only then I can use ontoggle action of checkboxes..

This is the scenario:
I need to Create n checkboxes(dynamically) based on the n elements present in a node. The values in the node are populated at runtime. i need to bind a boolean attribute in this node to the check boxes that are created.

Hi,
Try the following:
1. Create a node with 0..n cardinality with the following structure
NodeElement
Column1
Column2
Column3
CheckBoxattribute(boolean)
2. In the view, right-click on the root container>Apply Template>Table
3. Select the NodeElement and set the CheckBoxAttribute UI as Checkbox
In this way u can create a Table with checkbox that are loaded as many elements in the Node at run-time
The checkbox value can be set / get using:
wdContext().nodeNodeElement().getNodeElementAt(<selectedRow>).get/setCheckBoxattribute(true/false);

Cannot check dynamically created Checkbox

I cannot check a dynamically created Checkbox which is binded to a dynamically created node.
The same dynamically created Checkbox can be checked when it is binded to a static node.
Any ideas?

Checkbox UI element`s property "checked" can be binded only to attribute with type "boolean".
If you create attribute inside the node, check whether node contains any node elements.
Could you please post a piece of your code with dynamic attribute and UI element creation?

Hi,
Check ur application in debuggermode or go to the transaction ST22 and check the error analysis.
The error may be because u have not assign any action for on toggle. It may be because of any node is initialized and using it....

Display checkbox dynamically

i am trying to generate list(checkbox) dynamically
through query
select classname from class where secid1=
select secid from section
where section.secname=:P7_SECNAMEX
:p7_secnamex is a text which contain section name
Through this though i am able to generate checkbox dynamically but i want every time a user enter new section name a new checkboxes should get create on new line without replacing previous one, in mycase it replaces the previous one.
how can i do this,pls any one can help me out.

In the preOpen event of the second dropdown list you put something like (in formCalc):

Suppose I have table, whose structure changes frequently on daily basis.
For eg. desc my_table gives you following column name on Day 1
SQL > desc my_table;
Output

Age
Phone
On Day 2, two more columns are added, viz, Address and Salary.
SQL > desc my_table;

Address
Salary
Now I want to create an Dynnamic RTF report which would fetch data from ALL columns from my_table on daily basis. For that I have defined a concurrent program with XML as output type and have attached a data template/data definition to it which takes in XML as input and gives final output of conc program in EXCEL layout. I am able to do this for constant number of columns, but dont know how to do it when the number of columns to be displayed changes dynamically.
For Day 1 my XML file should be like this.

Make the RTF template dyanamic as in Day1 there must 3 columns in EXCEL output and on Day 2, 5 columns. I want to create a Dynamic RTF template which would show all the columns selected in Dynamic XML.I dont know how the RTF will create new XML tags and how it will know where to place it in the report. Means, I can create RTF template on Day 1, by loading XML data for 3 columns and placing 3 XML tags in template. But how will it create and place tags for new columns on Day 2?
Hope, you got my requirement, its a challenging one. Please let me know how I can implement the required solution using RTF dynamically without any manual intervention.

Is there any way to UPDATE the XML file attached to a Data Definition (XML Publisher > Data Definition) using a standard package or procedure call or may be an API from backend? I am creating an XML dynamically and I want to attach it to its Data Definition programmatically using SQL.
Please let me know if there is any oracle functionality to do this.
If not, please let me know the standard directories on application/database server where the XML files attached to Data Definitions are stored.
For eg, /$APPL_TOP/ar/1.0/sql or something.

How to create a dynamic hyperlink which point to a BLOB column

I am fighting with the issue for about 2 days.
My purpose is to use Oracle Report Builder to build a report of our employee directory which contains employee's information and also employee's picture. The requirement is that our report is going to generate a html file to our web server. By creating a dynamic hyperlink to the Employee's name in the report output file (the html file generated to our web server), it should then display the corresponding employee's picture which is a BLOB column stored in our oracle database.
I only can create the hyperlink for the employee's name if the link is static, like 'http://www.google.com
But from the Oracle Reports 10g Release2 (10.1.2), about the exmaple 1: Dynamic hyperlink, I refered the link

The link gave he following example shows a value for the Hyperlink property that specifies a link to a destination identified dynamically:

where :DEPTNO is a column value retrieved from the database at runtime.
I tried as the same way to want it dynamcially shows the column :EMP_PHTOT, which is one BLOB column, but it was failed.
Anyone knows how to implement this? Any inputs is appreciated!

How to create a dynamic form with bind variables :schema & :table_name

My application has two LOV's, one to select a schema, and the next to select a table within that schema. I then have a button which passes me to a report which displays the data in that table.schema.
I now want to create a link to a form where I can edit the record based on the rowid of that table.schema, but it doesn't appear that I can create a dynamic form where I pass the schema.table_name and rowid. Is this possible? Can anyone advise how I can do this? The form builder only wants a fixed schema/table name.

Hi Stuart,
In this sort of situation, you will need to be a bit creative.
I would suggest a pipeline function called as if it was a report.
Then you can pipe out the required fields.
Since you will have a variable number of fields, you could use two of the multi row field names for your field names and values.
Then after submit, you can create your own procedure to loop through the fields (stored for you in the Apex package) and update the table as required.
Not very specific I'm afraid, but it should work.

How to create a dynamic action from link column in classic report

I Have an apex page that display a modal window utilizing jquery. In the modal window I have a classic report with a link column that I want to capture its click event.
I was thinking I could create a dynamic action with selection type=jquery selector. Not for sure if I need to do anything on link column and do not know the syntax
for jquery selector. Would appreciate any help or direction???

I am trying to capture the click event on the link column of the report in the modal form. I want to pass a couple of column values
back to the main form and close the modal window. I do not want to do the submit that happens if I click on the link column and link back to the main page(2)
If I let the submit to happen, all other entered fields are cleared on my main form.
Just don't understand the jQuery selector. I have no problem catching the button clicks on the modal form.
